[.La.Esperanca.] Twisting Straight Romance...? All right, I've got a question for everyone. In French, we watched The Phantom of the Opera and I've found myself imagining Christine Daae as a male... I really do adore The Phantom of the Opera, probably my favorite movie/musical but I've found the straight love-triangle rather boring.
Has anyone found themselves twisting around The Phantom of the Opera for more amusement, or am I alone in this peculiar game? *Weird look* ummmm.. never happened to me....

Personally, I don't feel the need to turn women into men, but it seems like just about everyone has replaced a famous heterosexual couple with their favorite yaoi couple. I mean, how many times have you seen Romeo and Juliet re-written with a yaoi couple? Only about a billion! Duo and Heero in Pretty Woman. Sasuke and Naruto in Sleeping Beauty. You get the picture. So, people might not twist straight romance as you put it, but they certainly replace it with the boy lovin.

Chakura I twist alot ie. Lost Jack and Sawyer, Angel, BtVS, Numb3rs, CSI, Scrubs, and even House i don't even know how it will work considering House personality. Basically, most of the TV shows I watch I twist. xd Even House? xd And yeah, I twist things all the time. Like in the movie Cursed (you know, that fairly stupid one about werewolves?). There was a gay guy who hit on a straight guy half-way through, and for the rest of the movie that was all I could think about. ("Dude! Kiss him!! O_O" <--- That little comment attracted some unwanted attention from the rest of the audiance. sweatdrop ) I do it with other stuff too. I kind of freaked myself when I started slashing The Lord of the Flies, but I couldn't help myself. sweatdrop

I do it with a lot of things but not right away! I also do it with house too, but it's ussually with the blonde guy (forgot his name)! like in the episode when whats her name gets high on pot from the gay patient and does it with chance (blonde guy I think) I either imagine her as a guy or that the patient was the one that did it with the guy! sweatdrop

Some stuff I'll do that with, especially if it's really boring or mundane. All the time I was watching Shreik I was hoping Link would show up. I guess that's not exactly the same thing, but yeah... When I get bored with a movie I start to daze off and change or twist it.

I twist so many series around it's scary, although it is mostly for horrible humor purposes. There are tons of series that I do still do it just for my bored fantasies, insane obsessions, and just because I can as well. I've never done with the Phantom of the Opera though, seeing as I'm not too familiar with it, myself.

Heh...I do all the time. But I'm worse, I'll bring in characters from other stuff that I think would match them well! For instance, in Final Fantasy 7, I didn't like CloudxSephiroth, but there weren't any other male characters that I liked, so I imagined that Squall (FF9) was there. ><;; And then came Kingdom Hearts! heart ahem....anyway.

Interesting... I speculate about possiblities of gay couples, but that's about it. Oh, and sometimes when there's a moment that calls for it in an anime or whatever I'll imagine one of the male characters saying "Kiss me!" or whatever to another guy. For example in Fafner, Soshi grabs Kazuki's shoulders and is all like "You can do it." & then the next thing that pops into my head is him saying "Kiss me!". It can get pretty humorous doing that.
