“Hmm?” Chrysanthe blinked in surprise as Ephrym dragged her into the conversation. “I think I’m fine,'' She protested but the merchant was already gesturing for her to follow him outside back into the main store.
“There’s some summer dresses if you’d like. Even if you’re sailing they’ll be good for the humid weather of the islands.” The merchant promised before pulling two that looked like the would match Chrysanthe’s size.

“This hat too.” Ephrym grabbed one along with a new satchel for the sniper. “We’re also going swimming so I’ll take that.” He gestured towards a light dress that wouldn’t drag her down in the water. If anyone looked they would be thinking that the man was planning on a honeymoon or something for them. It was definitely amusing to the merchant and to Ephrym who shot a grin towards Chrysanthe.

“I think that’s plenty.” Chrysanthe protested with a flush. Seriously! “This better not be docked from my pay.” She threatened Ephrym before taking the new satchel that had her new clothing safely tucked within. “Do you really have to waste finances like this?” She continued murmuring as they emerged from the store, Ephrym also sporting a new bag of things.

“It’s not a waste.” Replied Ephrym without missing a beat as he walked alongside Chrysanthe. “We are going swimming and unless you would rather go nude then having something like this will be handy. We can keep it for the voyage as well since there will be some water explorations, I’m sure.”

“Fine.” Chrysanthe let out a sigh and pursed her lips towards Ephrym in protest. If he wasn’t her captain then he would definitely be feeling a bolt right about now for that! “Definitely not going nude.” She assured him before slowing down and glancing around now that they were outside of the shopping district and not around the docks. “So where do we go now?”

“To the left.” Ephrym gestured away from the docks. “You wanted to go swimming and I knew the perfect spot but it’s a bit outside of the city.” He smiled towards her. “Does that work for you?” It would take about twenty minutes for them to walk there but he felt like it would most definitely be worth it.

“I’m fine with that.” Chrysanthe nodded. “As long as we aren’t avoiding crucial work then a break would be nice.” She allowed Ephrym to guide them and found herself glancing about with curiosity. She had gone to the southern area of Belrea before but this area outside of the city was new to her. Who knew that there was actually something in the woods around here? Soon enough everything opened up to an older paved path and twisting stones turned into steps that led to a crystal clear pool that was somehow free of others, the little trickle of a waterfall from a stream dripping along the other side of the crystal waters. It was slightly overgrown around the edges but nothing that distracted from the clear pool that seemingly welcomed them.

“Nice, right?” Ephrym smiled as he glanced about the place. “There’s a swimming area within the park so this place is mostly abandoned since many don’t like to hike all the way out here.” He gestured towards the pool and moved forward, his hand testing the water. “It’s not too cold and usually stays warm because of the natural springs. It should wash away any of that grime you feel.” The trees shifted around them with a gentle breeze but other than that it was quiet, a nice place to relax after the tense encounter and all of the other deals he had to strike throughout these last couple of weeks.

“It is.” Chrysanthe admitted before turning towards Ephrym. “I suppose I’ll go change. Don’t you dare peek!” She warned him before taking her clothing from the satchel and moving to hide behind a cluster of trees. Chrysanthe stripped down to her underclothing before slipping the light dress on top, the hem barely reaching her knees with the strap tying around her neck. Her arms were bare and the material was light but a deep blue so that it wouldn’t be see through when she went swimming. She was honestly surprised Ephrym didn’t pick something more risque but then again even though he teased her constantly the captain wasn’t that type of person.
“Alright.” Chrysanthe emerged and saw Ephrym without anything other than his own leggings, the sight almost making her flush if she hadn’t gotten more accustomed to such sights since working with the crew. “I suppose we should make the best of this before going back.” She acknowledged before sticking a toe in to test the waters and finally slipping in with a sigh. This definitely had been a good plan, her aching muscles were so happy to just relax for once and Chrysanthe found herself lazily floating along the pool as the day’s stress simply melted away.

Pretty. Ephrym coughed and glanced upwards as if to distract himself from his lingering gaze. He was not here for such things. Chrysanthe was a sniper and one of his best fighters, not someone to simply flirt with. The hybrid though couldn’t help smiling as she went into the water and finally seemed to relax. “I suppose so.” Ephrym agreed with a soft chuckle before finally slipping into the water himself to enjoy the rest of the afternoon in the pool before they finally went back to the ship to continue preparing for their voyage.
