Cadet Yddagen

Today was the day.

Yddagen had woken up that morning with a marginally higher spring in his step. Lysvi had noticed and asked him in curiosity; the answer was obvious, of course. The mission they came to Earth for was going to come to fruition. They had gathered the energy they needed. The comet was on its closest approach. Their machinery and technology could gather the energy and funnel it into Chaos, into Metallia, and end the threat. Then they could work with this thriving planet and perhaps figure out how to revive their own without the pressing concern.

Energy hummed in the air, and Yddagen was ready to see the results.

He gathered with the other cadets, next to his sibling because that felt like the most natural spot, as he watched Commodore Lyndin and King Caedus.

In a mirror of Lyndin, he crossed his arms. Was that the correct position to give the Earthlings the impression they were serious?

"Lysvi," murmured Yddagen, out of the side of his mouth, "you are ready for this, yes?"

Cadet Lysvi

"Naturally."

A pause, a stop in the brief unstoppable bounce.

"Or as the Earthlings would say, duh."

Ready? What a silly question. Lysvi was born for this. Lysvi was born ready for any mission the Vanguard would have. Lyndin had never failed in a mission. Lysvi had no reason to believe that this one would be the first. They had prepared. Everything that they were asked to do, they had done. They had gathered the energy. The machine was running. Everything they had planned had gone to plan.

And they all would be a part of it.

"Look, even you're doing more than being," Lysvi gestured, "well, entirely unemotive." But of course, between the two of them, Lysvi had always projected any necessary emotion for the both of them. It was something Lysvi had never actually minded, as much needling as happened between them. "I am very prepared for this. Can you believe we're going to get to see Commodore Lyndin in action?"

Yomi-no-kuni, Squire of Saturn

Yomi was trying to calm his thundering heart as he stood next to Aoki, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was going to go wrong. The Negaverse could attack at any moment or their alien vistors could have made a mistake in this plan or worse yet they could be lying about their motivations and goals. He just couldn't shake his worrywart nature but still if this did work it could change history. that alone was reason enough to be here.

Another reason to be here was that Aoki believed in this plan. Yomi would put his trust in him. Besides though still only a squire he had magic now and he could help defend others should anything go wrong.

Guardian Cat - Namielle (Order)

She was one her own, ever since he had gone missing several weeks ago she'd had no choice but to carry on as if nothing at all had gone wrong. No, in the grand scheme of things everything was just peachy. Except it wasn't and now she had to add keeping half an eye on these bizarre aliens to her ever growing list of things to look out for. It was safe to say that when that god forsaken man got back (and it was a when, not an if, she refused to consider other options), she was going to have a very thorough discussion about his definition of what constituted healthy work-life balance.

Suffice to say she had at least come to trust that there was something to the man's cynicism. His doubt about these individuals and their lovely weapon, his remarks regarding their vague and very idealistic approach. Granted he'd always been rather doubtful of anything that preached of miraculous hope, and she would much have preferred to live the life of an optimist, but when it came to this scenario...something told her things were going to be much more complicated.

Nothing was this easy.

Alas, true to her word the feline had meandered towards the meeting point where several individuals were already in place. She wasn't entirely sure she knew all of the Order aligned individuals and she certainly didn't know any of the aliens (courtesy of their glamours in previous encounters), but she was here for now and she would do what she could.

...Even if a literal alien army really didn't sit well with her at this particular point in time.

Cadet Valnyr

So this was it, was it? The moment had come when they would have the opportunity to show those who had doubted them that they weren't being dishonest. They would have the chance to prove them were on their side, that they had extended the hand of friendship and dealt a fatal blow to the one thing that sought to disrupt an otherwise peaceful life. It was safe to say that given her own personal experiences with some of the White Moon, the success of her comrades in winning them over had been mixed. There were certainly several she could think of who still hadn't been convinced of their intentions and well...perhaps now they would be.

As was her normal routine, the woman was quick to ensure that each of her devices had been charged and her uniform was suitably presentable. She would do her kind a disservice not to enter foreign company as a dishevelled mess and thus, when she had ensured she looked appropriate, she ensured that she to was present as ordered. Admittedly her otherwise hostile encounters with some individuals of this world already had managed to temper her nerves slightly. She'd had some measure of 'battle', she'd even had the fun of hunting 'youma' (though the success had been limited), and in being exposed just a little to it all she was a little less nervous.

How could you be nervous of the unknown when you had experienced some of it?

Naive perhaps given that a punch from a senshi and a snap from a youma was hardly war, but if it was enough to ensure she was much calmer in the face of an otherwise stressful scenario then she deemed it fair. She knew that some of her own companions would be more nervous than others depending on their own personal experiences, and if she could lead by a little bit of example then that would be cool, right? Ultimately her success would be limited as most, if not all, looked up to the Commodore more than anything else in the world and the examples shown by either her or anyone else would be a relatively moot point.

She did have to wonder if that was perhaps why some of them might have been selected. Given the sensitivity of this mission, perhaps that 'love' and adoration they displayed ensured they could be trusted with the intel. It was irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, whether they were in a fervour over their love for someone or not didn't matter. The Vanguard were renowned for getting the job done and done well, they wouldn't have been brought here if they weren't trusted to do that. The motivations or reason for recruited paled in comparison to the end goal and the necessity for success!

As of yet she hadn't had much time to survey the area for anyone she might have known or met previously, so for now she kept to her spot and pursed her lips lightly.

Eso

Eso stood there, looking around at those who had gathered and couldn't help but feel the nervous energy in the air and let it effect him. He felt like he was practically buzzing with energy.

He knew all of his kind by name here, but he was looking for someone in particular. Ah, there. Maybe he could cling to his friend to help calm himself down. It seemed, though, Tenoch was surrounded by these humans they were to trust despite not knowing all of them. It was fair, they did not know all of his kind, so mutual trust would go a long way.

Still, he wasn't so sure what to do. And so he tried to slip up behind Tenoch, to stand close to someone he knew. Lilac eyes blinked out, looking around. Hands fiddled with his uniform, tugging it this way and that as if it could be out of place. Eso was borderline obsessed with his looks, so there was no way he would let any part of him become disarrayed if he could control it.

"Tenoch," he said, hoping it was low enough he didn't startle anyone but loud enough the other heard.

Silistra Page of Saturn Silistra was out on patrol when she got the message floating in the air, she hadn't gotten a communication device yet, she had only found her weapon a short time ago as it was. She was still learning the ways of being a page. She wanted to do her best to protect the city and become stronger so she could defend herself and others better. Once she received the message she headed in the direction it said to go. She could feel now that there was trouble brewing. Considering the strange things she had seen lately she wasn't really surprised this was happening.

Senshi Actaea of the Harvest Actaea was a new senshi and didn't have a phone yet, so when the call went out she saw the words in the air and quickly headed off in the direction to see what she could do to help. After the strange fog appeared near her family home she had been expecting something big to happen, so she wasn't surprised that there might be a battle to be fought. She wondered who it was, she didn't think it felt like anything she was familiar with. She was ready though she wanted to fight something she didn't like that fog appearing so close to her home.

Eternal Sailor Metis

For the past few weeks, she'd been trying to not... panic. Which was far, far harder than it had any right to be, she'd determined. Texts left unanswered, calls about the same. Even speaking to Namielle had gained her no other answers.

Time and time again, she thought back to that empty world with cracks leaking tendrils of energy. Not dead. Not thriving, either.

The only thing that kept her lip from trembling was the firmness in which she set her jaw as she marched towards the collection of others also there for the... well. She wasn't entirely sure how to think about this. Unleashing? Invasion 2.0? Utter failure incoming? Paranoia made her fidget, or would have, if she hadn't clenched her fists.

She was aware of Realta alongside her, but it was Metis' own recognition of the other furry silhouette that brought her over to Namielle. Her skin prickled from the alien energies around, the thistle-purple energies meshing with the well-known human and animal colors. "Any updates?" Though vague, the quest was... a broad one. Had they missed anything being spoken about here, had he contacted Nami at all...

The list went on.

-------------

Guardian Cat Réalta

Realta knew her tail was a bit bushier than usual, and the fur that ran along her spine where the sword-like marking was, was a tad bit more pricklier. She was tense, though she did do her best to keep her own wariness of things to come under wraps.

Part of her was excited to see how this weapon would function. Another was... bracing herself. She didn't now how this would turn out. In combat, in utter failure, or... what.

The guardian was quiet as she and Metis came up to Nami, though the feline moved over to nudge a shoulder against the other cat, brows slightly furrowed in concern for the other's wellbeing. "Fun times, hm?"

Guardian Cat - Namielle (Order)

Familiar faces approached her, one accompanied by the softest of bumps, a reassurance if anything else. She had already elected to regard this entire event with trepidation. There had been enough conviction in Athalia's voice to not pay heed to at least some of his concerns, but in relation to everything else... Well, she afforded Realta a gentle smile before turning her gaze upwards to inspect the Senshi.

A tightened jaw, set in 'stone', well she couldn't blame her for that.

"Nothing," she replied simply and released a small sigh. "I checked with Orias and he hasn't 'felt' anything either," she added. As Athalia's bonded Mauvian if anything had happened that was very bad news then he would have felt it. At least that was how she had always assumed it worked, the connection between both parties was much deeper than mere friendship.

"But with that question on your lips I am going to assume you are in the same boat," she clucked her tongue. "His timing is impeccable on this occasion," she murmured sarcastically.

Super Sailor Morgan

"Still kinda hoping this leads to another fight in Negaspace," she murred as she came up behind Guinevere. Her hood was up, long hair tucked into it, and Morgan had her arms crossed behind her head with a rather bored expression on her face.

She wasn't at all sure what to make of things to come here. The cynic in her was unwilling to let the rest of her, the part almost vibrating for a fight, to see the Negaverse get hit with something they maybe couldn't recover from.... be excited.

Her gaze settled on the collection of aliens, and their impressive tech. Especially the big one she figured was the main attraction that night. "...that not exploding would be good, too. I've seen too many SciFi flicks of the big weapon backfiring or just exploding. Ugh."

----------------

Cadet Daesva

Pale hands were kept flat against the outside of her thighs, green eyes bright as they flickered about each and every face they could in the crowd before them. Humans. Cats. Everyone waiting to see the proof of the Vanguard's efforts. There was a low buzz of conversation, both within the Vanguard, and the joining Earthling crowd. Doubts, hope. They all mixed and mingled and prickled against one another.

For Daesva herself, she had no reason to doubt the success of the plan. It was crafted by minds far more wise and experienced than her own in such matters. She'd carried out her part as needed. One of her palms itched slightly, and her fingers faintly twitched against her bodysuit. The redhead was far, far more interested in getting back to exploring the city and its contents. She wanted this thing to fire, and to release her from duty long enough to seek out what actually interested her.

Proving the quality of their work and validity of their plans didn't entirely ease that itch for her. Not when it required her to just stand there and wait. Her toes flexed in her boots, but her face remained expressionless.

As the invitations were received and the field filled up, Caedus breathed a sigh of relief and couldn’t help but smile at the turnout. “You never cease to amaze me, my friends. I am forever grateful for all that you are willing to do.”

He looked to Lyndin, as if there was some private thought shared between them, like Caedus had known this would be the turnout.

Lyndin returned the smile out of politeness, but there was still something strained about it. He seemed focused; now wasn’t the time to celebrate.

That would come later.

He let Caedus speak and stood by, taking note of their arrivals, of the world beyond their generators. He seemed prepared for battle and was curling and uncurling his right hand as if to get comfortable beneath the strange metal gauntlet he was now equipped with.

“There will be no debt,” Caedus promised Valhalla, “But any help would be appreciated.”

Scylla’s arrival earned her a nod from Lyndin, and Caedus smiled hopefully because he didn’t want to let her down. He might have been nervous already, with the inflection she used to say his name, but he greeted her with warmth and said softly, “Glynd.” He did not say more before Kerberos arrived, and he smiled at him just as Lyndin nodded in greeting.

As more people arrived, conversation became more difficult, so Caedus had to clear his throat and stand tall.

He put his hand on the machine next to them as he addressed the gathering group after he gave them a few seconds of silence. “I know we have been quiet about our plan. I hope this is not offensive. It was dangerous to reveal too much too soon. If information got into the wrong hands…”

Then, this would all be a waste. If the Negaverse could defend against this attack, they lost their advantage--again.

“Commodore Lyndin has been collecting data. He has monitored the abnormal communication methods in the area and tracked the source of Negaverse communication. He has been able to replicate their methods. He will send out a message to them. It will call some of them here. Not all, not too many, I do not think.” He looked up to Lyndin for assurance and Lyndin raised his chin a little higher. Caedus continued, “It is not because we wish for combat. We will need to attune to their energy to focus this into the Dark Kingdom. Once the machines have synchronized, it will permit us to open a portal into their domain. This,” he patted the machine again, “will sync with the comet. We will use all the energy from it to blast into the Dark Kingdom. If the calculations are accurate, and I am so certain that they are, it will strike the castle. When it takes out Metallia, it should dissolve her grip over the Negaverse. It should free them.”

Caedus clung to this thought, he believed it, and it was impossible to miss how hopeful he was even as he tried to keep himself dignified in front of his people and those of Earth.

“But you must stay without this circle. The generators are the outermost perimeter. If you travel beyond that, they will sense you. But if you stay here, with us, you are shielded.”

The shield was visibly down, so it didn’t mean the Negaverse wouldn’t see them--just that they wouldn’t know what they were walking into when they first arrived.

“I know I am asking a lot. But I think this is the last time. Commodore Lyndin has never failed a mission,” he insisted. “And we have the Vanguard here. I believe in them. I know we can do this. But we need your expertise and help to make sure they do not intervene. The machine will not take long. Only a few moments. That is all we need. So I ask this of you, please. If you do not want to be involved, you have only now to leave. We do not have time to waste. But this machine, and the generators that help power it,” he nodded to the few other sizable machines across the field, “Must stay up and active for this to work.”

Asphodel Knight of Saturn

Asphodel Knight let out a strained breath, and crossed his arms as Caedus explained the plan. It still irritated him to no end how confident the alien was that they could purify the entire Negaverse by force. Sure, the Chaos would be gone, but what then? It seemed more likely their star seeds would be torn to shreds.

And yet, here he was, supporting the plan. He'd donated his own energy to it and been given plenty to think about in the process. If nothing else, he believed their alien guests were sincere in their desire to eradicate the Negaverse and had good reasons to believe their plan would work. While going along with it was gambling with countless lives... refusing their offer guaranteed the struggle would continue. So it was the same gamble either way.

Ultimately, he believed it was worth the possible consequences.

So they were planning to be ambushed on purpose, then? That part was clever, and bound to work. The rest... time would only tell.

Super Sailor Ara, Chibi Senshi of Illumination

Ara arrived at the gathering ready for what could be the biggest moment of her life, the end of the Negaverse. She was very excited at the prospect but she was ready for something to go wrong. She wasn't stupid she doubted something like this would happen without incident. Surely if nothing else the Negaverse would sense all the energy and attack.

She noticed Scylla and headed over to her. "Scylla, this is pretty exciting huh? It can all end today. The war, all the fighting, or at the very least the fighting with the Negaverse can end." She supposed there would always be evil somewhere that needed fighting but hopefully this evil would be put to rest here and now.

As Caedus said they would be drawing Negaverse agents here she prepared for battle, this plan had to succeed.

Sailor Arthuradel, Senshi of Honor

Arthuradel was anxious she still didn't know about this plan. The goal was noble eliminating the Negaverse but the whole idea of super weapons like this seemed kinda underhanded and because of that she was worried it would backfire. She looked up at Her older sister and Guinevere. "Like Star Wars." Although she hoped they weren't the First Order or the Empire in this scenario.

Then Caedus said they were calling Negas here. "We should get ready they'll probably want a fight." If they were going to this, and she still wasn't sure it was a good idea, then they would need to protect the weapon no matter what.
