Truth be told she expected another fight from him for barking orders but it seemed that he too had enough with this day. “I swear… you’re going to be the death of me,” Sonia muttered to herself.
Cautiously she sat up, babying her arm just in case it wasn’t actually healed. But, a part of her knew that, whatever magic the bond possessed, it worked. Her arm was whole again and it only took putting gradually increased pressure on it to know it was true. “I’ll be damned…” Never would she admit he was right, didn’t need to inflate his ego and give him the opportunity to announce ‘I told you so’. Not that Reed would act so childishly but surely he’d at least grin while thinking those thoughts to himself.
If she wanted to, she could have left his office space as it was. Items scattered on the ground from when she bumped into his desk and a pile of dust on the floor where the bone had all but disintegrated. But, she did owe him a measure of gratitude and instead walked downstairs to retrieve the broom and a small bag with which she poured the fine grains of bone into so he could do whatever experiments he wanted with it.
Sonia left the bag on the table, turned off the lights, and quietly closed the door behind her before retreating into her room to get some sleep herself.
