Until Acubens went against that word, Shaowei saw no reason to disbelief her. In this scenario she saw no value in pushing for anything more and if more positive things came of it then she would regard it as a win.
After all, in the end Shaowei would always be one of those individuals who sought knowledge. If Acubens aspirations and those of others ultimately brought this to fruition and this knowledge could be more openly shared, then she had no reason to dissuade it.
Satisfied with what she had heard, Shaowei withdrew ever so slightly to allow for others to take the space to raise their points or hold any discussions. While she might continue to listen she wouldn't interject further (it would be rude, and a little self serving), and besides what could she possibly criticise them for beyond her definition of poor etiquette? Some individuals communicated in different ways and when it came to such things as etiquette, tact and so on, even culture could open a canyon in terms of how others acted.
...Although from a purely personal point of view she did find some of the behaviour a little unprofessional and crass. She might have been showing a tiny bit of snobbery on that one though, not everyone had to be prim or proper!

She's stepping back to let others talk. <3 She's mostly going to listen in so you can prod her if you need her.
