Roselite didn’t know whether to laugh or usher Kamacite to some other location without champagne. He settled for smiling, only the smile sat a bit tense on his face and looked sort of like a grimace.
As the shy, nervous sort, Roselite got drunk far more often than he dealt with drunk people.
“No, no, you don’t need to help!” he said, helping Kamacite back into his seat, afraid he might trip over his hair or his robes (or both), or stumble and go crashing into one of their superiors, maybe spill champagne down Hessonite’s front or go flailing into Axinite’s chest.
It would be embarrassing for all of them. Roselite didn’t handle embarrassment well. Just the thought had him flushing on Kamacite’s behalf.
In an attempt to keep Kamacite seated and encourage him to eat more, Roselite sat in the chair next to him and snagged a cookie to munch on.
“I’m done anyway.” He wasn’t. “And I’m starving.” He wasn’t that either. “Why don’t we sit here and eat and…” What could they do? What did people who weren’t socially inept do at a party? What did people who were socially inept do at a party? “Um… We could… Try and guess what everyone’s talking about? Like… General Jet and the Queen… I bet they’re talking about something really important. He looks a little embarrassed, though. Maybe she’s giving him a special commendation… or something…”

Eion RiskEion's hand shot out and slapped against Albite's chest hard enough to make an audible thump. "Don't you ******** try it." Smiling danger, Eion shook his head as he spoke the words. Immediately afterward, he realized the convenience of having that third point of reference to stay upright. He was reasonably sure that meant he could consume more wine.
"It comes out… I'm eating it." He was also reasonably sure that Albite was too stupid to live. How the Rift hadn't swallowed him whole, he couldn't say. The stupid had stupid levels of luck; none of the idiots pulling their own starseeds died for it, much to his chagrin.
"He'll die," Eion assured Lilith, and he nodded fiercely until he realized that was a poor idea. Blinked a few times, waited for the world to settle into place again. Maybe too much wine, but… ******** it, he wasn't vomiting yet. Until he threw up on Axinite's shoes, he was good to keep drinking. And last he checked, Axinite's shoes were all the way across the room, by the Queen and his peers, and Aqua and Jet and whoever else thought they were cool enough to go kiss a** to the higher-ups. He'd rather be the nobody making stupid faces at clearly-polite-faced-but-dying-inside Axinite while he weathered the party like a good boy.
Lilith snatched one crab puff, but Eion waved the waiter-Lieutenant down before she could continue her circuit through the room. "Hey, I want the rest."
"How many?" Secretary-type uniform with half-rimmed glasses and a dead-eyed stare, she looked increasingly checked out the longer she had to attend to Eion.
Which was not at all after he opened his mouth again. "All of them."
"No." She started walking.
For a brief moment, Eion considered whether to catch her bodily, but decided that involved too much motor coordination for his liking. So he used Albite's arm for a tether and called after her, "but I need them more than you do."
She paused, turned, looked him in the eyes, and asked, "are you calling me fat?"
"N-no, I'm just…" he stammered, his drunk flush worsening. "I'm on fire, so…" He swatted Albite's bicep, and looked back at Lilith, as if to say fix this, because clearly he didn't know how.

There were too many signatures in one concentrated area. They were like bees buzzing around in her head, white noise she couldn't turn off. With the sovereign's magnanimous presence, it was nigh impossible for her to track Prehnite's aura when he disappeared into the crowd. Whereas everyone else looked so jovial, so relaxed; going as far as having a casual conversation with Queen Laurelite, Hatsya felt dizzy and light-headed. Like a precariously placed glass that sat on the edge of a ledge, she too felt like she were about to fall out of her seat. A feat that nearly came to be when a voice beside her startled the corrupt from her thought. She jumped, rising to her feet so quickly that the chair she'd been sitting in nearly clamoured to the ground behind her. Nearly. Hatsya fumbled but managed to catch the back of it before hesitantly looking up. Sunset-colored eyes scanned the faces around the Hall and found General King Axinite with arms crossed over his chest looking their way. s**tShe swallowed thickly then shakenly took a seat and regarded General Benitoite with an apologetic nod. "I'm sorry, I-" the corrupt paused to clear her throat. Her stomach churned aggressively and for a moment she was glad that she hadn't had anything to drink. "This place doesn't hold many fond memories," as he should know. "I'm only here because Prehnite strongly suggested I come." More so to prove that he'd made good on his assignment and found the errant corrupt who had been missing for far too long. Physical confirmation that his reports were not an exageration. "Please sit," Hatsya asked, voice strained as she motioned to one of the available seats. Although, she'd prefer he sat across from her, or at another table, or even wonder towards the other end of the room; it'd be rude for her to suggest anything other than what was next to him. Despite his diminutive size; the ashen blond with calculating slate blue eyes was imposing when he wanted to be. He had once been her General, the one who brought her into the fold, and she, for a time, was his burden to bear. But things happened, here in the Dark Kingdom then again some years later in the Rift, that caused a breach in trust, and her response had severed whatever friendship they could have had if only she'd reacted differently.

Narrowed pleasure in his eyes for the way she spoke, because *hell ******** yes*, nigh immortal freaks of nature, beings of the cosmos, and who else could hold their own lives in the palms of their hands and offer it up like nothing? Het up for her philosophy, because he already lived that way. Her take on survival, coming out stronger for it? Had him instantly enamored with the Kelpie (Lilith). "M'stunned really, didn't think these people know how to spell 'good time', let alone have one." shark grin and smothered laugh for Eions (Faustites) words, let him use him like a wall to lean on - was temtped to test his luck with it. Pluck his stars seed out and offer it up to Eion himself, see if he'd be willing to take a bite. Knew he was sloshed enough that he honestly actually might...."If things get boring? I might." solid nod to Lilith, expression that told how absolutely much he loved the idea "Cause he's not wrong, and it'd be a helluva way to go." had hardly paid any mind to the little drinks, or hors d'oeuvre, all his attention rapt for the tilting dark haired boy hanging off him like he was draperie, making demands of the poor overworked little Lt's that were playing at wait staff and caterers throughout the hall. Wrapped Eion up and pulled him in a little, played anchor, so he didn't meet the perfectly waxed floor with his perfectly drunk face. Couldn't stifle a laugh as he shot Lilith a look - to help Eion or to make it worse? Albite wanted to get his boy what he wanted - which seemed to be snacks - and yet? "He's not calling you fat hun, he just doesn't know how to compliment pretty women is all, and lookit him! He needs 'em, gonna drift away n' faint without those sweet crab puffs - huh firebrand?" all played innocence as he addressed the beleagured girl with cute glasses carying a tray full of what should've been theirs by right. Return of conquering hero's, meant to bask in the glory of their achievement's, some s**t like that. "Oh, what if we asked nicely. You'd leave 'em if we said please, yeah?" all cheek and wit, teased for the sake of seeing where it went as he spoke over Eions head - asked him to play nice like a child at a center.

Usually Sylvite would have been trying to be a little bit more of the life of the party. This party was the boring business kind, sure, but she’d still be up rubbing elbows and trying to find something fun to talk about at least under normal circumstances.
But the General-Sovereigns were there, and even Laurelite, and they were all rubbing elbows in their own right. Which was fine! Under just about any other circumstances, she’d think it was cool, even. The thing was, she really really did not want to have that awkward conversation about Cybele with, say, Axinite right now.
Everyone would hear, and she didn’t even have her lieutenants around to back her up right now. It’d be a whole mess.
So she was sitting cross legged in a corner to make herself even littler than she already was, holding a plate of food in front of her face. She did peek around the plate between bites of snack food, trying to make sure that nobody too important was getting close to her. At least the Queen seemed pretty occupied by a couple of Generals.
She also kept stealing glances at the random civilian in the middle of the room, near Albite, wondering where exactly she remembered him from.

General ArsenopyriteHe still felt awful from the little excursion that they had done to retrieve the scales and had to sleep for 3 whole days afterwards. He was sure he would have gotten behind on his studies if Stacey hadn't been so diligent in taking notes for him. He didn't ask her to do it often, but she wanted to help him and this was one way that she could do it. And it made him jealous at times, She was free to do as she wished as a Dark Mirror as long as she gathered energy. Though he knew that unless they both got away from their respective factions that it would be the only way to stay together. Unfortunately there was no such thing as Knights or Agents or any non-Senshi in the Dark Mirror. He wasn't sure if he could live without her. Thanks to her efforts he had been able to attend this party, now much more functional that he had gotten some sleep. He knew that medical school would be hard, but he had to change how he studied for it. Overworked doctors were a problem in the medical system and becoming too tired to stand up was not something he wanted to do before he achieved the title. So this announcement had him interested. Even if he only wanted to become a General practitioner, perhaps he could do more now that the main hospital of the city would be under Negaverse control. He doubted that there would be no draining. But... perhaps he could at the very least intern there. They might understand his duties a bit more if he asked for some time to be able to work as a General. His mask was down as he sipped on some tea. He wasn't hungry enough for the food yet and he wanted to see who was here. The last time he had seen their Queen was when he was a Lieutenant. He still dared not approach her, but it was interesting that he had gotten so far now and felt as though he fit into the General title, even if others didn't believe that he did. He saw many familiar faces but dared not approach yet. He just wanted to enjoy the moment and think about the announcement. However if someone wanted to talk to him, he wouldn't be opposed to conversation. ((Arseno is open for interaction!)) ------------------------------------------------------- Li eutenant EveiteEveite sipped on the cup of coffee that she had made for herself. The announcement didn't really concern her, but she had showed up due to the presence of all of the higher ups. It was something that she couldn't avoid, at least as a Lieutenant. Acquiring a hospital didn't mean much to her unless they wanted her to improve their digital security. They had enough information about her, any information that they would get there would already be unknown except for information pertaining to medical problems. Still, the presence of the food had been what had made her come in the end. The trip into the Rift to get the scales had been awful and she had to take leave for a week. But she had heard food would be served and she couldn't miss the opportunity. She wasn't wanting for money, but she found it hard to make decent meals at home when she had such little time and often forgot to eat. She would make sure to take advantage of all of the food that was around here and made sure to pile it onto her plate. ((Eveite is open for interaction!)) ------------------------------------------------------- Super Corrupt VersaillesVersailles had heard about the venture into the Rift but had decided not to go himself. He knew how much Youma still loathed any Senshi, no matter who's side they were on and he didn't want to take the risk. Instead he had taken those days to spend a vacation on an island his family owned and relax. So why had he come here to see this big announcement that he didn't care about in the least? He wasn't sure. Perhaps it was curiosity. He hadn't seen the General-Kings and Queen and their very own leader before. And he knew he had to get to know some of this fellow Corrupts and other Agents. Perhaps he still didn't feel like he belonged. He had been forcibly corrupted after all, not that he had minded it. But nowadays he was feeling... bored? He wasn't sure, but he had a feeling like he wasn't meant to be a part of this. That he was wasting his time being here. He didn't mind draining, he had no qualms with it. But he didn't feel... satisfied? Would he feel better if he became an Eternal? He had started to question it... So he had taken some time to make a plate for himself and have some tea to wash down any after taste from the food as he sat down to enjoy it. Whether he interacted with anyone would be up to them, but he would at least enjoy the food while he was here. ((Versailles is open for interaction!))

When Aquamarine approached, Lepidolite turned from the group he’d been conversing with and listened intently. A broad smile split across his face and he laughed, a bold and unashamed sound. “Excellent observation, General! I’m sure we have plenty of musicians among us. We should make better use of those talents! Tell me you’ve got some musical talent, I’ll send you right up front and you can have the whole stage!” Or, maybe Lepidolite couldn’t tell when someone had been drinking and just assumed Aqua was very passionate about good parties. He saw Fafnir, not so far away. “What about you, can you play an instrument? What’s everyone listening to these days? I should ask for a playlist. We should see if we can get Laurelite dancing,” he said, clearly in good spirits. His voice was loud enough that Laurelite probably could have heard him if she wasn’t already so delighted with Jet. For all the reserve she usually had, she laughed again, and reached out to put a hand on Jet’s shoulders. “I admire your dedication to the Negaverse, Jet. But, no. Thank you for worrying for my modesty. You’re the one out there doing such heavy lifting out in the city, you should probably be in the more functioning outfit. I’m glad you don’t have heels.” There was mirth in her eyes, and this time her smile seemed more genuine than the otherwise perfect mask she usually wore. “You work so hard. You don’t have to be nervous around me, I rather like you. This is a party, so relax. I’m glad you came to celebrate with us. It’s nice to see everyone when we have good news. You all have such lively personalities.”

"Mmm, yes. I do understand, for some people this place can hold many bad memories and feelings that take time to accept and move on from. I could say the same for myself. Time does help though." He still had memories of Bazzite down here...he still remembered the fight with Bazzite and when he'd turned him into a youma, not that he'd meant to.
So many memories filled this place and yet he stil lcame down here, as he always had, he'd never really shied away from here...at leas tnot for long. He wouldn't allow himself to do such. He was a General and he would behave like one, as much as he could anyway. He was not immune from his own emotions and could not enterily ignore them, no matter how much he may try at times.
Taking an offered seat he nodded his head once. "There is nothing to be sorry for. If I were to hold a grudge you would know - I can assure you of that. Whether anything could be linked back to me....well that would be a different matter altogether." But she would most certainly know he still held a grudge. The fact she was here and well - that was proof enough.
"You should relax. Be glad to see the higher ups here. It's rare we see them...seeing them as human, like us, is a good thing." It was a rare thing as well.

Aquamarine snorted into his champagne.
“No one wants to hear me play the piano,” he said, even if he was very good. “Jet’s better anyway. He’s magic with his fingers.”
Aquamarine paused to sip at his drink. He stared vacantly for a moment, turned the phrase over in his head, then snorted himself into another round of near hysterical giggles.
He was able to calm himself quickly, flapping a hand around like he thought the motion might excuse his momentary lapse of maturity.
“Sorry.” He wasn’t sorry. “Hasn’t anyone got some speakers or a radio or something?”
Aquamarine looked around, turning on the spot, as if expecting a nameless Lieutenant to produce some with a snap of their fingers. He was distracted momentarily by a Senshi in blue (Fafnir) who also seemed to have captured Lepidolite’s attention. Aquamarine frowned. He didn’t like Senshi much.
“I don’t like Senshi much.” Not that it mattered. It never mattered. They were everywhere, with their magic and their holes and their long hair dragging all over the place. Disgusting.
As he spun back around to Lepidolite, Aquamarine wore what he thought was an inviting smile. “I don't know about the Queen, but I’d dance with you, Sir, if we had good music. You look like the kind of guy I’d pick up in a bar. You got a wife and kids at home? They tend to.”
Lilac eyes flicked up and down, catching on dark hair, blue eyes, and an impressive frame. “I’d ask if I’d ever managed to pick you up, but that would have been awkward when we got to the draining part, you being you and all.”

Being noticed when he was trying to be unobtrusive gave Fafnir a warm little fizzle of pleasure. It wouldn't have been polite to interrupt, but since the General King had given him an in by speaking to him, he was more than happy to shift himself forward. He smiled his professional smile as he bowed his head, giving it a shake when he rose again. A warm little laugh broke free as he waved away the question.
"I'm sorry, Sir, but I don't. My talents lay in other areas." He said. "R&B and Hip Hop seem the most popular now..."
He might have tried to engage the conversation thread more, but their other companion seemed intent on his own. Fafnir stilled when the blonde looked at him, and whatever good will he'd been fostering fled. His smile was colder now, his face going still to mask the rise of dark emotions the general's statement called up in him. I don't like Senshi much...
"It seems as though the alcohol here is flowing a bit too freely for some of our number." Fafnir commented wryly. He might have left it at that and kept his attention firmly on the General King... until the General made an entirely inappropriate comment. The corrupt eyed him with that blank expression, but inside he reeled at the audacity of it. Speaking to one of their elite like that.. He slid a glance to Lepidolite to gauge his reaction, wondering if he'd brush it off with his jovial manner.
Whoever this man was, Fafnir would be making a note to avoid him in the future. His ambitions were not something he cared to risk on someone like the blonde, general or not.

Yes, it's true. Hatsya would know if he still held a grudge. Death would have been a courtesy when compared to youmafication but neither punishment had come to be, at least not yet anyway. His affinity for plants went unmatched, at least she had thought that way until she'd met Prehnite. Her roommate's collection was impressive in its own right and she felt certain that the two of them would get along. However, at this given moment in time, she'd rather keep her past and present separated for a while longer if at all possible. As far as she knew, Prehnite was unaware of her history with Benitoite aside from the fact he'd once been her General. "I owe you thanks. For not disclosing what happened." Her eyes were fixated on an arbitrary spot on the table, unable to look up at him.

Kamacite blinked curiously at Roselite when he said he was done, but figured that if Roselite said he was done then he was done, and he took a seat as directed. He wasn’t really sure what was good to eat, so he followed Roselite’s lead on that too and picked up a cookie.
He looked over at the Queen and General Jet when Roselite prompted, but he couldn’t possibly think of what they could be talking about. “You don’t have to sit with me if you’re busy,” Kamacite said after a few moments, but he did break off another piece of cookie and forced himself to eat it. “I won’t bother anyone, if you’re worried about that. You’re very nice, and people probably take advantage of that. I worry about you. I know you do a lot of people’s work for them. That’s very nice. I hope they appreciate you.”
Really, Kamacite wasn’t sure what he was talking about. Just anything that came to mind. It seemed as though Roselite didn’t want him to get up and move around. It was probably embarrassing to be seen with him, especially after what happened in the Rift. Staying out of the way would probably be the best for everyone.
“I’m okay,” he promised, and took another bite. He probably shouldn’t have shown up there, anyway. What was he thinking? Maybe that it would be an announcement for something else. Like people who had been away on a long mission were finally home. That was not the case.

Jet froze when the Queen touched his shoulder. It was just his shoulder, so why was he freaking out? He was making a fool of himself but she seemed to be taking it in stride. Or maybe she was used to dealing with idiots already that this was just normal? Probably.
“Yeah, I look horrible in heels,” he agreed, trying to come up with something that seemed like a reasonable conversation --
“I don’t wear heels,” he corrected himself. And was trying really hard to relax because… was that an order? Was she ordering him to relax? He didn’t feel relaxed.
He took a deep breath and let it out slowly, hoping it would calm his nerves since the half glass of champagne certainly didn’t.
“Can I get you any eats? I mean… Do you eat food? Of course you eat food. Sorry I’m nervous,” he admitted, which she obviously already knew since she just told him not to be nervous. But it was difficult to coordinate his brain with his mouth with his heart beating out of his chest. “I’m sorry about Aquamarine. He’s… -- Oh my god what is he doing? Is he talking to -- he’ll be fine. He’s fine. He’s just a little drunk. I’m so sorry.”
Please, Aqua… don’t be an embarrassment.

"Of course, it wouldn't do for me to speak about what happened. It's good for you and I both." It would cause some to turn on her, especially those who disliked corrupted senshi, and it would look terrible on him. For those who had been around as long as he had, and longer, it might even be a sign of weakness and being too soft. He kenw some would, without a doubt, have lashed out at their attacked and either killed them or done worse. He'd done neither and had no intention of doing anything.
It was, for them both, best if kept under the rug. It was also old at this point, by several years, and it was like old fashion - out of style.
"I do hope you've been doing well? The fact you're here and powered up tells me you've at least, I hope, come to accept your status as a corrupt senshi." Who served the Negaverse. She hadn't ever seemed to fully accept it in the past. Perhaps now she did, he could hope. Her magic, to what he knew of it, would be useful in a battle. He couldn't imagine what she could do once she became eternal, if she ever did.

"I wouldn't go so far as to say accept," Hatsya honestly admitted. "Perhaps entertaining the idea of it is more appropriate." She shrugged nonchalantly, an elegant roll of her shoulders. "I've been reassigned to Captain Prehnite," she motioned with a nod of her head towards the officer she had been talking to before Benitoite had approached. "We're roommates," Hatsya added cautiously. "He's been kind enough," near experts at pushing each others buttons when they weren't actively avoiding each other. Reed was usually in his study or tending to his plants while she kept to her room. "First your problem, now his." There was a twinge of remorse in her voice, an emotion that was also reflected in her eyes when finally she looked up at the ashen-blonde general. "We haven't patrolled together yet. Still trying to get records updated and change of address taken care of so nobody shows up at my family's house again." It was the best way to keep her family ignorant to this double life she was living. "But I'm sure that will change soon enough." At least he didn't impose a backlog quota on her for the years of missed energy turn-ins. "How about you?" Hatsya regarded his posture, his tone, then added "You seem... different." Indifferent. Distant. Something wholy missing but she couldn't put a finger on it. Perhaps it was the formality of his greeting or lack of smile. She wasn't sure why it bugged her... but it did.
