If albite had been truly a mutt - had a tail attached - it would've snapped off from wagging so hard. Slow apparent grin and joy that took up all of his face as her words. Pleased like he'd done something good - just like - for once? Something honestly good, and she was happy with it, and it made him feel full to bursting over the acknowledgement of that alone. "Just, the best of friends Dee - always. It's - I keep trying to explain this to our boss too, you can work for people, and with them, and still be friends, yanno? Balance n' all that. Doesn't have to be a chore all of the time!" felt lighter for it as he nodded along. She had hobbies, and talents, and he would've nudged her towards them. Later though, after, would be agreeable with the little acquiescence for now. "You mean a terrible conglomeration of badness? We're like, I dunno, one step below lawyers maybe? Or uh, a ninja convent? Hmm...I totally get it tho. Private journals, cause clouds do be getting hacked out there Dee, gotta be careful with all that stuff." Little chimes that went off - more dishes that came in of finely sliced meats, reds and white's and something that looked earthen animal and freshly seared, wafts of buttery sautés and fragrant seasonings over stone plates that needed mits to be handled safetly. Except Waru paid less attention to that then he did to - well - Delilah - everything that was her, the idea of taking stupid pictures. Taking her good places to take better pictures even. "We're going on a road trip at some point...before all this is over. We've gotta, team building s**t? I think it'd be amazing."

The idea of having a friendly office felt nice. That was the way Marcasite had tried to make things feel for them. She had always felt close to Jade, friendly with Jade, and it had made the final questions about what had happened between them and her final disappearance feel even worse. She could agree with Albite on that point; it made things a bit more complicated in some perspectives, but it was certainly possible to befriend the people one worked under. Nembus just wasn't sure that was Faustite's style. Delilah snorted under her breath at the concept of Terrible Conglomeration of Badness. To be honest, the Negaverse sounded horridly unappealing when it was put like that. Perhaps she would need to coach him a bit on that if she was truly going to put forth a recommendation that maybe he be slotted into Infiltration-- "One step below lawyers. Don't know if that's the best advertising pitch," she teased, as her phone came back out and the camera came back on to start to line up the best pictures for this particular dish. Snap, snap, snap - maybe a flash on that one due to the lower light and the darkness of the dish - "Maybe you could try adding pro bono to that? Pro Bono lawyers are usually pretty good people." Not that she necessarily disagreed with the Terrible Conglomeration of Badness title. I'm telling you about Chaos' influence on your thoughts and actions because it gets worse and more controlling as you advance in rank.Waru's next mention was like a record scratch and jump that brought her out of her swirling thoughts. "A road trip?" She glanced up at him as she finally put down the phone to start eating the food she was documenting. "You sure that's a good idea? I barely know how people work and our boss is," made out of the literal fire, "well, not exactly able to adopt the guises we can." Close enough.

"Oh man, pro bono lawyers are only good if they're doing it for charity, oh or maybe for the image?" teeth set into his lip to keep from snickering too loudly, reigned it in to keep up the faded charade of propriety. Gave slightly under Dee's pointed, perfect teasing. "I'm pretty sure most of 'em are pretty damn terrible though. If it's, uh, like those poor guys who gotta dos state run gigs, yanno? Miranda rights types that ' will be provided if you cant afford one'. " flash of teeth and he watched, mesmerized by her phone, new little images to add to memories to add to their time together. Would want all of them, for himself, for her, to show to Faustite, maybe? Convince him to join up more often for brief stints, practice runs at playing 'people' together. "Oh, Dee, Deeeeee - please? C'mon, we gotta! At least once, right?! At least one time, I wanna get us all in a car and just -" in his minds eye he could see it, see it stretch on and out. Time spent together in a small space, doing the most normal thing he could imagine. A road trip, to a beach, to a campsite. Sunset and sand and surf, a daytrip spent in the suns rays. He knew Dee'd look good there, more little memories, the way she'd stand in perfect sync with the waters edges lapping out behind her. Couldn't imagine a single bad thing that could've come from it really. "He can tho, I mean...okay..kinda..sorta? Maybeish? Details, I'll work something out~" would etche out the details, beg her for it, beg faustite for it. Hound them into agreeing to something simple, even if it was only for an hour or two, didn't have to be a lengthy car ride really... "All those things, all those reasons, that's why it's perfect. Good, normal, simple little trip. Wouldn't have to be far out - man - you'd like the beach Dee, yeah? Oh, or heck, a nice camping trip!" flashed his biggest beggiest eyes, his best pretty please with cherries on top, grin.

"Pretty sure half those Miranda rights types are just overworked and underpaid. All part of a system that needs looking at." Delilah squinted, for a moment, perhaps something she read or something she had studied in an attempt to make herself feel more savvy with current events. She shook her head, turning her attention back to her food. Also felt like a serious debate for another time. At least one time -- Delilah bit her tongue with her amused response that the one time would probably last all of a half-hour before something went wrong. She wasn't convinced Faustite wouldn't simply set the car on fire. Delilah hardly understood driving. Did Waru? Did any of them have a driver's license? The beach did sound nice, though. More memories for her to photograph with her phone and attempt to force to stay in one place. Or camping. She wasn't necessarily sure if camping appealed to her because everything she read implied that it was too many bugs and too many moments where black bears would come rambling through to eat their food and their entire site, but she was certain that was just exaggeration. Delilah ate her last bite of food, pursing her lips in thought. "I mean, maybe we could propose it as a bonding experience." She snickered. "Not so sure our boss is into those, though. I think he'd prefer just setting the whole car on fire. Maybe a road trip to a landfill we can set ablaze."

He had to nod along - wasn't sure what he did or didn't know about, well, half of things. Would've had to ask Syrus, except he had been adamant bout not wanting to be a 'tv lawyer', so there was that. "I think I can pitch it to him just right?" words hidden between mouthfuls hidden between thoughts. Waru had a staggering amount of them, ideas, and words. "Okay, so hear me out? He'd be into it if he thought - like - it was a training thing? Can totally get him into stuff if it's mission warranted." he was sure of that, Faustite was all about training. "Mm, you could help me, be convincing, n even if it ends in a blaze of glory? At least it'll be more good memories right, or yanno - really cool pictures!" Vibrated with energy for all of it, was determined to make it happen at some point, later maybe, once he'd wormed his way into all of faustites good graces...or his grate...whatever came first.

A training exercise? Could they make a road trip into a training exercise? "Well," Delilah paused, leaning forward thoughtfully as she pursed her lips together, "Boss does seem pretty concerned about my, ah," she cleared her throat, "civilian life. I guess he's worried there're too many holes." He wasn't wrong. Delilah was fairly convinced that whatever file Faustite had on her consisted of main concerns about how she hadn't managed anyone before Albite and how she didn't seem to have any kind of solid identity for herself. He wasn't wrong. Everything about her life felt false. Even being a Negaverse senshi sometimes felt ... false. But it didn't feel more false for anything else. "I mean," she rubbed her neck, "I guess we could propose it as training how to be human?" It was something, if this was the path he wanted to continue down. She wasn't sure how they were going to manage Faustite's whole literally on fire problem, or the fact that she was fairly sure none of them could drive, but it was definitely a good start-- Though the image of Albite crouched in a seat trying to drive a car brought her giggles unabidden.

"He should be concerned about his own civilian life. It'd be good for everyone Dee, people need life outta work. Even if it's just an absolute train wreck of a thirty minute outting." soft smiles and he wondered how he'd word it, if he could get Faustite to bring even more people along. A thousand ifs - and they all ended in disaster - but it was the journey that mattered, far moreso than the end destination. Snorted softly at the whole concept of it, like Delilah and Faustite were some 'non-entity' that needed lessons in being people. "Ohman, he uh - I'll probably phrase it better then that. Though knowing him? He'd like it that way, heh, bite right for it. Specially since he's invested in keeping me under you for - ah - until I'm at the uppermost company rung in this rat race ladder game." "Human lessons one oh one - road trips. Ohh, complete with seedy gas stations, outdoor peeing, heh - side of the road food stands. You could make a list? Yeah? Compile an idea of all the stuff we'd need so we - uh - don't burst into flames in the first thirty seconds out...maybe add a fire extinguisher to it? Oh..wait..would that be murder?" whole nother topic and he had no idea if Faustite could survive being extinguished if he did suddenly catch them all ablaze mid car ride. Whatever - it was all semantics - or details - or someone else problem entirely. He would see if Dee could bring more people, had to have friends she wouldn't mind them meeting, and in lieu of that? Maybe faustite? If that all failed - - -

Delilah didn't necessarily disagree with needing a life outside of work, but it felt so strange to think of that as an important thing when her life had been stolen with her and replaced with something she thought was clever from a book. She didn't know who she was before, only knew that she was Delilah Samson now. Did anyone miss her? Did it matter if anyone did? Why was she letting her thoughts spiral? She swallowed it down with another bite of food and tuned back into the conversation. "I get the impression our boss would rather work alone," she chuckled, "so makes sense he's keeping you under me so determinedly." Unfortunately. She couldn't wait for him to become a super like she was so she wouldn't have to watch over him; not because she didn't like him but the continued responsibility made her nervous. What if she did something wrong? What if she failed him? What if he died under her watch? What if, what is-- Wait, by Metallia, that sounded awful. Why would anyone want to go on a road trip? "I mean," she winced, "I'm pretty sure the fire's part of what keeps him alive..." She didn't know for sure, but considering he seemed to literally always be on fire, she wasn't sure if putting that fire out was in any way a good idea. "Do you know what he likes? Maybe we could bring that along as a way to calm him down --" Outdoor peeing - that sounded miserable. "I guess it'd be a good human lesson in misery, though. Do people really do that? Go to seedy gas stations and pee outside? On purpose?" The food stands didn't seem so bad so long as they weren't run by the same people who ran the gas stations...

"Yeah, see, that there's the problem? There's the stuff that everyone thinks they want and need, and then there's the stuff they actually need? The firebrand might be all into the dark knight, lone survivor schtick - doesn't mean its healthy for him." and Waru could hear it in his head. Could imagine Faustite quoting tragic poetry and secluding himself away like he was some firelanced phantom of the opera. Eternal burning burden and how he'd avoid people because of that. Could imagine how Dee would've avoided people, if not dragged into things, if not for a need to search out bits of herself so desperately. Plant trying to find a crack of sunlight to grow in - except she didn't know what she was - where to grow - what to need. "Ohman, Dee - Dee - fine no extinguishers for him, mabybe just in case tho - but also. That's the exact reason you have to come. Why it has to happen? People love complaining about stuff, like, all the damned time? N' also - the uh - roughing it parts, are only half of the trip." If he could've smiled wider he would've, could've looked more mistchevious for it. The idea of trapping them all in a car for an hour - for three - for five if he could've gotten away with it. Take them all on a nice, long, arduous road trip and see what happened. "To be fair the peeing outside only happens with poor planning. Side of the road peeing can totally be avoided. Not like - during the camping tho, thats kinda part n parcle to the fun of it? Loud insects, n nights under the stars, walking on the beach and getting sand in your toes. Sunset pictures.." sigh for that, and he loved her expression, the uncertainty therein. "I could probably tell you what he hates more easily..Oh! Food, he loves food, s'got a sweet tooth ten miles long, drinks tea like he runs on the stuff alone." hummed for the thought of picking out little details of what Fuasutite really enjoyed. "Bring stuff to read, play I spy, take lotsa pictures...We could make it real good."

Doesn't mean it's healthy for him.It probably wasn't. Being alone hadn't exactly been healthy for her. Every time she thought she found footing, it was always pulled out from underneath her and she found herself back at square one, alone and lost and confused again. She couldn't help the nerves that perhaps it would happen again, that everyone she was gathering up around her would disappear again, leaving her alone and unable to find a place to grasp or hold onto. Not healthy. Not good for her. Was it just the way of Chaos? Waru's assessment that she probably would have avoided people if not for a desperate need to figure out who she was, though, was quite accurate. If it wasn't for that, she probably would have given up, shedded her powered form, and secluded herself in a hermitage somewhere in the edges of the Earth where she couldn't be found. "Only if you plan on using the fire extinguishers for fires he causes, not for the fire himself," she snickered, quietly, resuming her eating. "I guess a trip like that would require even more planning than usual, considering our... Boss. And myself. But I have to admit, pictures of the sunset and stars and beaches and sand sound way better than..." Well, he knew. The Rift. "So we're going to have a backseat filled with a pile of sweets and a tea making station is what you're saying." Delilah smirked. "Perhaps that could work."

"It'll work, n if all else fails? I'll stick him in my lap and buckle us into the damn thing. Oh, I could drag Syrus along? He'd hate every second of it, but.." and thought better of it, because his boss suddenly bursting into flames probably wouldn't leave a good impression on anyone. "Yah, no, second thoughts. You, me, the boss. A nice close trip so no one looses their ever-loving minds over it. We can plan around fires, n happenstance. All the little things in-between that. It'll be a piece of cake Dee. I promise." spoke of cake, and cake appeared - chimes an deserts - tiramisus and mousse, glittering with crystalline toppings. Some of the raspberry's atop one looked like they could be glass - or frozen - or... Albite ooh'd at it all, even as he nodded along with Nembus. agreed wholeheartedly. Extra planning, but it could work, and then everyone could feel included in the doing of it. "I can start sending you spots close by? You can get a say in it - help me chose where we go, pick somewhere that'll spark your little shuttebug interests?"

Delilah's brows rose to nearly her hairline at the concept of Waru simply strapping him into his lap -- "Are you sure he won't just immediately set you on fire? Because I don't put that past him." Especially considering Waru's opinion on Faustite, what he felt about Faustite, the fact that he seemed to only encourage Faustite's dangerous behavior in some ways in hope that perhaps it would one day finally bite him in the a**-- perhaps she should have addressed what seemed to be Waru's lack of self-preservation. The dessert was -- incredible. She was distracted for a moment as she immediately turned to their newest course, taking pictures of every piece she saw. Some of it looked horribly expensive, and she had to wonder if the dish would have been worth eating around the crystal. Was the crystal even edible or was it just decoration? Was it like the edible gold foil she couldn't believe anyone would ever actually eat? She couldn't understand the sheer amount of money it took to casually eat gold-- "Ah?" she glanced up to him, chuckling sheepishly when she realized her head had been inside the desserts, as it were. "Sure! I'd love to take a look at what you have in mind. Maybe we can pick something with a minimal fire temptation."

“I mean - c’mon Dee? Some things are worth burning for.” Waggled his eyebrows at her expense, let his expression be ridiculously lascivious as he laughed through it. “He, heh, he can wear uh -“ and how did he say skin? Flesh? Be a person for some time? Though Faustite might’ve set him on fire just for the thoughts of it. “Yanno…maybe we should tie him to the roof instead? Except we’d probably get pulled over even faster for it..” shrugged, and picked at the desert, wondered at why the ******** gold leaf was a thing, pretty yeah? But it didn’t taste like anything. Still he ate it all. Cold soft creaminess - deliciously smooth withy the toppings to add a crunch for contrast. “Minimal fires, maximum fun…mm..I’ll pull up some locations? We’ll sort it al out after.” He nodded in earnest and let his mind wander over the possibilities inherent in planning such a thing. It really could’ve been nice —-“You’ve gotta make sure to get your input in tho Dee, it’ll make it more memorable.”

"Minimum fire, maximum fun," agreed Delilah, laughing quietly. "So long as we keep the fire contained within the boss, everything should be fine." ... Hopefully. He could wear what? A hazmat suit? Wait, that didn't make any sense-- Fire-resistant clothing? She presumed he would already be covering up the giant hole filled with fire if he could. She squinted at that, decided she would figure it out when she wasn't busy eating the most delectable dessert that she had ever tasted in her known life. "Alright, alright. You win. I'll make some output," Delilah teased, glancing down to the dessert that she was eating like it was the last bit of food she would ever have, tasting every little piece of the rich dessert, especially the gold foil. Tasted like hardly anything. Maybe she should just put it to the side and see if it was worth anything-- She paused, glancing up to him once more. "Thanks for taking me to this, Waru."

"That's the spirit Dee. So long as I've got you around - everything'll be fine. You think of everything, n' anything you don't think of? I know I will. Like - the extra crazy bits, yeah?" He'd have her - it'd be fine - no way it'd ever go anything other than fine so long as he did. He'd seen it in the rift, and in the way she handled people. How good she was with others, without even noticing it. " Good! I like that yanno - winning - every now n' then at least, yeah? Makes up for all the times I'm like - not right about stuff. Like...having ever thought gold leaf was food..this stuff is just food glitter, seriously." shake of his head as he inevitably turned it into a little disolvy ball of fleck - nudged it aside to get to the real goodness beneath it. Dee didn't have to thank him, but it warmed him anyhow, that she'd enjoyed herself, that she would go along with his crazy shenanigans - so long as they didn't involve a body count. Felt they could all use a break from that for a moment. Some nice mundane s**t to lay over all the chaos that had been going on. "You're welcome Dee, there's no one better I could've taken." bashful as he said it, deeply honest with the smile he offered, the look that crinkled with pleasure at every edge.
