Despite the fact that she was clearly so much safer than Isaia in that moment Zadia still yelped when he was picked up and raised her hands to defend herself. Her hat tipped forward just enough to block her view, but when she fixed it the damage was already done. He was too far gone for her to 'save'...or so she would later claim.

He was trying his best, she would give him that! It just...wasn't enough compared to their big sister.

Maritza, on the other hand, wasn't concerned about breaking any part of any of the children; Uquin's or her own! All she'd been focused on was wrapping her boney, calloused fingers around that solid ankle and dragging Ujana down to her level. What she hadn't anticipated was the spray of salt water that went into her mouth and the subsequent gagging it caused.

When she finally opened her eyes again, though, and saw Ujana's hair covering her like a modesty veil Maritza couldn't help cackling.

As Ujana's larger frame fell, the ornery couple were splashed with water. Uquin calmly smoothed his hand over his face, dragging his sopping hair back out of it again as he moved in closer, sitting in the shallow water as he watched the two women put themselves together again.

"Hopefully this feud ends in the ocean and stays in the ocean." He sighed, looking between the two doubtfully. Now that he and Maritza had teamed up, he had no doubts that Ujana would respond in kind and make them both regret it.

But - all things considered, he couldn't stop himself from smiling. He'd had... painfully few opportunities to just 'play' like this ... with ANY of his children, least of all Ujana.
