Everything was a blur as Quiana fought to regain her balance. There was some giant beast after them that would surely tear them into shreds if they didn't keep moving but everything was a mess with the slick ground beneath their feet. Thankfully Kasumi tugged her along so that she didn't simply fall on her face and Quiana eventually found her rhythm again as they both raced towards the open beach. "The tide pools are close! Care to swim?" She yelled as she kept hold of the other Elidae and kept pushing forward.

The two girls righted themselves and kept running to Kasumi's relief. She felt like she could still hear something behind her so she didn't let up. "Yes we can swim! Though I don't know this area as well so I hope you do!" There was no point in lying when it could only mean they could get hurt. "We just have to get to safety." She urged, that was all that really mattered at that moment. Neither of them, to her knowledge, had any kind of weapon in order to protect themselves so really their only option was to run.

"Don't let the tides rip you away and you'll be fine." The angrier waves usually came closer to the evening according to her grandmother at least. Quiana was confident in her swimming since that was one thing that she actively enjoyed doing along with singing and dancing. "Just reach out for me if you feel like you're sinking and I'll do my best to swim us both to the shore." Fear made her body tense as she heard something move behind them once more. Was it getting closer? Either way she was not about to stick around and find out! Her gaze swept across the beach and she tugged Kasumi after her towards a series of rocks that led into the ocean. It was a simple jump down into clear waters and they could swim away from there. The area was tight so she hoped that whatever was chasing them would be deterred by the smaller passage.

"I should be fine swimming, it's getting lost I worry about!" Kasumi replied quickly as they kept running. She kept following the other girl as they started heading towards a particular grouping of rocks so she was able to put two and two together. Problem was, it didn't seem like they'd be able to jump at the same time. "You go first and I'll follow you after you've cleared the drop zone!" She didn't want to get down below the water and then have to hold her breath for longer waiting for Quiana to jump down or worse, get disoriented in the water and get lost before Quiana could get to her. Hopefully the other girl would be okay with this.

"As long as we get to a beach then I can find the way back." Promised Quiana before climbing up so that she could prepare herself for a quick dive. "Just be safe and I'll be waiting on the other side!" She stated before more noises forced her into action. The Elidae only closed her eyes for a moment before diving from the rock and into the ocean with a splash. The impact of the water stung her skin at first but after a second the relief was immense as the waters cooled her flushed skin. Truly she adored swimming so this wasn't so bad after all. That was as long as Kasumi made it safely in behind her and they didn't have a giant creature that could swim chasing them next.

Kasumi nodded and watched as Quiana jumped into the pool. She counted to five slowly, her nerves and muscles tensed as she waited to reach 5 which should give Quiana enough time to move out of the way. Once she reached 5 she took a deep breath and jumped in without looking back. The water felt a little cool to her but thats probably because her heart was pumping and beating so fast it had made her feel too warm previously. She swam quickly through the little pool that was actually a little longer than she thought it'd be. Before too long she came up on the other side and pulled herself out onto the beach on the other side. Kas looked along the sides to try and see if she could find Quiana quickly? "Quiana?!" She called out.

"Here!" Quiana shook her head as she spoke, her dreads flinging water everywhere as she gulped down fresh air. As much as she enjoyed swimming that had been a deeper swim than expected! The Elidae grinned as she regained her senses, her body thrumming with exhilaration from the race. Now that they were not in danger she could actually find herself enjoying the excitement. "We made it." She breathed as she glanced towards Kasumi, "You okay?" Hopefully she was because now they were finally at the area with the tide pools, the shimmering water almost waiting for them like some sort of glorious prize.

She exhaled a breath as she heard Quiana's voice and turned to see the other young woman alive and well. She laid back, her arms out perpendicular to her body as she laughed in disbelief. "We did." She agreed before chuckling a few more times. "I'm okay. But I'd totally be okay with never having to do that again." She admitted with another laugh. Kasu sighed and started to will her heartbeat to slow down. "Are you okay?" She checked on the other. While she looked fine she just wanted to make sure.

"I'm fine." Quiana chuckled as she gestured forward. "Hopefully it won't be such a dramatic entrance next time but at least we made it." The tide pools were shimmering in the sunlight, the white shores greeting them with almost a warm welcome with the way that the sunlight poured across everything. "Let's just enjoy ourselves and take the long way back later." Surely by then the mentors would be done for the day and she could simply slip back into the home she shared with her grandmother. Now that sounded like a good plan to Quiana indeed.

"Okay good." She took a few more minutes to get her breathing under control before she stood back up. "Let's go see what we can find that the tide left for us! Surely there are some goodies after what we just had to endure!" Even if she found nothing it would have been a great experience for Kasumi. She made a new friend and some memories, that was always worth it when everything was said and done!
