With a bag of firestone successfully gained from R'in and Demodeth, Amrit waved his gratefulness. Chirakumath, however, had his eye on a wingmate who was in perilous danger.
Amrit hang on -- Watch out! Amrit was quick on the coordinates, snapping between to charge in and flame down the clump harmlessly. Huzzah!

Chirakumath roared as pain seared through his flank and side, and Amrit's feeling too slow in the visualization, urging his dragon to the safety of the void. Even if his eyes stung behind his riding goggles once they appeared in the sky once more.

Wheeling, flaming, catching thermals, fighting wind.... Threadfall is nothing if not exhausting. Greens, and blues find themselves panting with exhaustion. This is more tiring than they thought. Trying to come up from a dive, they struggle on wing and wind up getting blown right into some thread. Ouch! [+1 Stamina, Moderate Damage -4 HP ] Browns and bronzes aren't having quite as bad a time, their stamina having always been programmed to be a bit more hearty. [+3 Stamina]
It had started off pretty up and down, but CHirakumath was fairing out well. It would be a long fall, but they would make it home.

The low altitude could have moments of nothing going on other than flying steadily in formation, and for now that's what Adarith and T'sar were up to. The lithe man kept an eye on the skies, but it seemed the upper altitudes were doing their jobs well.

A surprise gust of wind startled Adarith and before he could correct his path, a piece of Thread seared his side. The snarl that left him seemed to echo in place as he and T'sar jumped Between, freezing the offending Thread from his shoulder before reappearing in the fight.

"Doing all right?" T'sar asked as the wind died down and the Thread remained in the upper altitudes.
Fine. Don't even think about returning to the healers, Adarith warned. He had a few minor burns but it wasn't anything to worry about. And he knew how T'sar worried about his appearance.

As they were speaking their attention was on one another rather than the sky and that proved to be a painful mistake. Adarith and T'sar both cried out in pain as the Thread landed on T'sar's arms and Adarith's wings, forcing them Between in an instant. When they emerged both were still aching from the hit, their focus on anything but flaming.

A strand of Thread caught Adarith's eye and he let loose a flame that was worthy of a sheet of the stuff rather than one wiggly strand. The ash cloud that ensued burned the already sensitive skin and hide of both rider and dragon, drawing an irritated noise from T'sar.

Hang on! Broleith said as he dove after a clump of Thread that would have threatened the Queens wing below. Ever the one to be valiant, he didn't think the wind might change and instead only focused on the golds and whites that were below them, as well as the weyrlings. But Trissa was keeping watch on the wind and just as she thought, a moment later the Thread was rising to meet them. She quickly urged Broleith to jump Between and when they emerged, he quickly flamed down the threat.

"Doing all right?" Trissa asked as they had a moment of calm, the Thread not falling from above.
Aye, TrissaMine, right as rain! Broleith confirmed. There were a few parts of him that stung but it only urged him to fight all the harder.

No sooner had he confirmed he was fine than a clump of Thread settled on his haunches. They were Between and back in seconds, but his blue hide had suffered from the touch and were he able to grimace, Broleith certainly would have. Instead he snarled and beat his wings harder to try to shake off the pain.

After jumping Between to avoid more Thread, Broleith came out searing and managed to catch a sliver of Thread that had made its way down to their level. He didn't preen like he normally would for the good shot, his haunches still too achy for him to care.

After the quick flame Broleith and Trissa found themselves quickly rising and before they could do anything to correct themselves, Thread tangled up in Broleith's wing. Again they went Between, but this time they had the Bowl in mind. Time to hit the healers.
