"I know she is," Pruu mused with a peek over her shoulder. "Still, it is a valued trait. You can be certain that her scariness keeps the real dangers at a distance. She kept your cousins safe on their trip here to meet you, after all." She looked back to encourage the girls forward, feeling herself relax even further to see Akel taking posture to stand watch. Her own attention would remain alert, but knowing Akel was on guard meant she could turn her focus just a little more to this meeting.
Without thinking too hard on it, she raised her hand to gently rest it over Enya's fingers. She really had a niece...Delight threatened her eyes again, but the tears were kept at bay. "A river? Yes, that sounds like something your mother would say. Your cousins are like rivers, though I believe they are always flowing too fast to be hidden."

Luleta looked up at Akeldama with a bright grin as she was nudged forward. Finally! Without wasting a moment, she hurried to close the distance with her little package held out before her. "Here. I made it myself." Inside the cloth was a length of braided ribbon with metal loops hooked in at various intervals, and each loop held a small item; a keldari fang, an arrowhead, dried flower petals, and a shimmering fish scale among the variety. "It's all stuff I found back home.. so you can see Yael without being there."
Attention turning to Pyrrha, she snorted and put her hands onto her hips confidently. "I bet I could tackle you! I'm just busy with Enya!"

Akel heard the comment about her being scary and cringed. At least her own children weren't scared of her. She glanced in the direction of the girls before she went back to looking around. Since she hadn't grown up in the area she didn't know the terrain all that well, nor did she know what beasts there were but she had seen some in their short stay so far. Of course she'd taken special interest in the flora of the area. If there was a poisonous plant or root that she could acquire to study then she would be pleased with that. After all, her fingers were stained black with the many different Yaeli poisons she'd found and messed with.
Every so often she'd peek back at everyone to make sure the meeting was going okay, but for the most part she stayed alert and on guard. Later on she may get to interact with Pyrrha and Enya but for now she thought it best she keep her grumpy self on the outskirts of the gathering.

Being pushed forward and told to tackle their aunt made her stumble a little, still holding onto Luleta's skirt, then look back at her Oma. She didn't get to look for very long before she felt her sister move forward and by extension drag her along. Her head went back forward so that she could make sure she didn't fall over or run into Lu. Once they were both in front of Enya she seemed to fidget a little, aware of the adults watching them. "You don't have to hide from Oma. She's really nice to children, even earthling ones." She said off hand, forgetting that her Mata disliked that Akel and Ali had both made 'friends' with an earthling. When her aunt mentioned that she and her sister couldn't tackle her she leaned to the side to look up at Pyrrha. A slow shake of her head started before finishing with somewhat wide eyes. "No.. you're too tall." Give Alizeh a few years to get some height to her though? She could probably manage it. She let go of her sister and moved over to stand directly in front of her aunt. The similarities between her and Pruu were amazing. Leaning her head back she smiled up at Pyrrha, showing off her dimples, and reached up for the woman to pick her up. Both her mother's had given the okay so she wasn't afraid.

Enya ll 6
Valued trait? Enya wasn't so sure about that, but in a weird way it reminded her of her grandmothers. They weren't as doting as Mama Pyrrha, but they still cared in their own way. It didn't make her warm up to Akel, though, and she was plenty happy keeping her distance.
She kept the contact with Pruu as her cousins came closer and for a moment her little antennae flared. Whether it was out of pure excitement or residual nerves she couldn't tell. Taking the package from Luleta Enya finally broke contact with her aunt and opened it with a gasp. "This is...amazing! Did you really make it yourself?!" Enya's green eyes brightened and she was near giddy. "I love it! Thank you so much!"
Hearing Alizeh talk though caused Enya to furrow her brow and c**k her head to the side. "What's an earthling?"

Pyrrha ll 6
"Earthlings are like the Kahikina except they live on land; not the water." It had never really occurred to Pyrrha that her daughters wouldn't know the difference, but since they hadn't ever really been exposed to them Enya's confusion made sense. Looking at her nieces, however, made the elarian remember a detail. "Do you remember the cloth I sent to you? The ones with the bright, pretty colors? They made it." She'd sent so much more, but that was the first that came to mind.
Despite the circumstances of the meeting seeing the three girls together like this was something she hadn't realized she needed. It was always nice to see her daughters interact with their elder cousin, Nayyara, but this was special on a different level.
Especially when little Alizeh came close and held her arms up. Her smile practically twisted Pyrrha's heart and within seconds she was bending down to lift the girl up into her arms. "For now I am, little one, but one day you'll be as big as your Oma." She gave her niece a little squeeze. "Hopefully not for a long, long time though; I won't be able to carry you, then."
Shifting Alizeh just a bit, Pyrrha temporarily let go with one arm to dig around her skirt and produce a map. "I brought a map of Kahikina with me, if either of you would like it. It shows where the different settlements are and I made little notes on the back about who lives there." At that point she was addressing the adults. The map itself was fairly detailed, given to her by one of the local Kahikina traders with the addition of Isle Kiros.

Once the younglings had started to mingle, Pruu stretched her legs back out to stand. The mention of earthling younglings did make her lips press, but she let out her breath and let her focus remain on the younglings before her. She had always wanted a large family, a loving family, and now she was seeing it. Her family growing up had been more toxic than she could have ever realized without looking at it from the outside, but this family that was growing and connecting... it had so much potential and held such joy...
"Oh, they will be big far too quickly, I know," she huffed wistfully. With a light nod, she reached out to accept the map and flicked it open. "This will be very useful, thank you." She looked back to Akel and gave the map a wave. "We should make use of this while we have the time. I remember certain plants that Pyrrha pointed out to me when I was here last that I am sure you would be interested in."

Luleta couldn't help puffing up with pride at Enya's exclamations. "I did," she practically purred. Lu was certainly one to savor whenever someone expressed satisfaction with her skills, whichever ones might be under scrutiny. Now that she had a cousin to impress as well-! "I'll make you lots more things for our next visit!"
The mention of earthlings made her nose wrinkle, though she smiled with amusement. "Their eyes glow, and they don't have antennae. And they're real small." She shrugged lightly. She preferred playing with other Elarians anyway. And now also playing with her cousin could be added to that list!

Akel was just in the midst of looking at her family when she saw Pruu take the map from Pyrrha. A smile formed when her wife waved it at her and said they could make use of it. She nodded her head. "Sounds good." She had some reservations about keeping the map once they left though.
Akeldama would bring it up to her partner and sister-in-law later when the kids weren't so close. While she didn't mind having a map of the place so they could explore and not get lost she didn't want to take that home with them and someone who wasn't meant to have it get their hands on it. Even if finding the place wasn't overly hard she didn't want to make it any easier.
"A place to fish would be nice." One where she didn't risk hooking one of the locals preferably. Akel was fairly certain they weren't edible.

When she was picked up and situated into one arm she smiled even more, her little dimples on full display without her shyness to hinder them. Alizeh straightened up a little when she was told she would be big. Being as big as her mothers would be fun. As her aunt handed something to her Mata she took it upon herself to inspect her markings a bit more closely. Her little fingers traces the marks on Pyrrha's arm, committing them to memory. They were similar to Pruu's but almost like in the opposite direction. Her head moved as her eyes went from one arm to the other, comparing, then toward her Mata. "How come they are so similar? Lu-Lu and I aren't that close." Were they in the same bloom? Was that even possible? Her head tilted to the side some and she drew her brows together.

"You should see Pyanka's rocks! She paints some of the prettiest rocks and I'm sure she would paint some for you too!" Her sister was always making nice things and even though Enya wasn't as artistically gifted she could appreciate the craftsmanship. "Oh, oh, and I've got some shells that I got from the Hapuna that change colors in the sun." She would have rambled had she been given the chance, but Enya's attention was wrapped up in earthlings in
a split second.
"Their eyes glow? Really?" How weird was that? "The Kahikina don't do that, but they can breath underwater and some of them have these big ear fins."

"If you're looking to fish you should ask her-" Pyrrha nodded towards her little one, who was far too wrapped up in her chatter to notice. "When Enya isn't practicing with Kanika she's fishing. She actually isn't half bad." Her daughters spent a fair amount of time bothering the locals and Pyrrha couldn't find it in her to be mad about it. At first she'd been worried, of course, but now that she knew them she was happy that they could have the contact she never could. It would only help them grow.
Pyrrha looked down to Alizeh's little fingers tracing her markings and she smiled. It must be odd, to see someone so similar to her mother physically but oh so different everywhere else. "I think Elzira knew we would be separated one day and now when I look in the river I can see your mama." In a lot of ways she was grateful that Enya and Pyanka were the same way. In their infancy it had been hard for others to tell them apart, but as their personalities developed it was so much easier; just like Pyrrha and Pruu.
This wasn't how she expected her life to turn out, but Pyrrha couldn't say she wasn't happy with it. Seeing the way her sister was with her family, how her nieces seemed to love her daughter...it just made her heart full.
