Gismondine watched as several things happened, first off, Xander changed. He...looked amazing. Clad in red and black...and for some reason his hair grew to a ridiculous length that made the lieutenant want to do nothing more than play in it. The second thing was that the General King was praising him...like he had actually done something right...and that thought made Gismondine feel...kind of amazing. He wanted to do things right, especially when Xander was concerned...and this was...kind of amazing.
He looked up at the question, blinking in confusion and taking the treats with a somewhat confused, but grateful look. “A...Mauvian…?” He had no idea what that was, but then there was a very sleek, very soft looking cat that came out of absolutely nowhere...and it talked.
Of all of the unbelievable things that had thus far happened to him, this was something he never had thought would...happen.
“...Oh. This...cat talks. Is...that a normal thing?”
No matter how attractive Xander was now, the talking cat had his full attention, the poor lieutenant’s brows furrowed in concern, like perhaps this cat wasn’t talking and he had finally slipped fully into madness.
...It was about time.

Xander - who was no longer ‘Xander’ or at least no longer ‘only’ Xander, sagged slightly at the removal of the hand from his chest. Not that he didn’t enjoy a classic Indiana Jones movie, but it was something else when it was your own chest involved. The provision of A drink, citrus, and cookies like he’d just been to an intense blood drive left him a bit stunned truth be told, though he took them with a side glance at Nel… at Gizmondine like he wanted to see if this was normal. And then there was a cat…. and it talked. He was starting to wonder if they’d gotten into some terrible accident on the way here, and he just hadn’t caught up with the reality of massive brain trauma yet. … Tasted pretty real though, wasn’t there some rule that you couldn’t….taste or smell in your dreams? That probably applied to other things too yeah? “Uh… P…pleased to meet you Soyala.” He stammered. “Is that… is that like a costume-people secret? That cats… talk? Sir?” He blinked uncertainly. “It’s not just me, right? The…cat talks?” He said sort of mostly quietly with a glance at Gizmondine again.

“She’s a Mauvian,” Axinite explained patiently. “She looks like a cat, but she’s very unique and rare. They’re an alien species. Some of them are good and some are bad. The ones that work with us are the ones who are trying to help keep this world safe from everyone else, so we must be very grateful for their aid.” He pet the Mauvian’s head politely, and stayed perfectly still so she could perch comfortably. He didn’t seem to mind her cheek against his in the slightest, and if this weren’t a business occasion, he might have even admitted to enjoying it. “Mauvians can help identify names and spheres. She’s going to tell us yours, my friend,” he said patiently, and pet just behind Soyala’s ear, as if it were his way of asking her to help. “The source of your power. And then we’ll work on getting you integrated. She knows everything there is to know about Senshi. She may be an asset to you, so it’s best to stay on good terms.”

Soyala frowned, briefly, but quickly smoothed her expression. Best to keep her discontent hidden. This must have been the first time this particular Lieutenant had ever encountered a Mauvian, and it seemed that the Corrupt Senshi was so new that he needed the most basic form of her aid. So, she purred contentedly, rubbing her cheek against Axinite's as he explained her role and gave her that lovely skritch behind her ear.
"You always know the best ways to make a girl feel , Axinite," she said, giving one last contented rumble before turning her attention to the Senshi before her.
"So! As Axinite said, it's my job to help Senshi who serve the Negaverse better do their jobs. And it's a pleasure to meet you both." She gave Axinite one last nudge, and then bounced off his shoulder, doing a flip in the air on her way down and landing with a pen.
"Hello, Sailor Taiyangshou, Senshi of Resentment. This is for you." She picked up the pen in her mouth and sat back, offering it to the brand new Senshi.

Gismondine nodded slowly, trying so hard to keep up and keep everything that he was learning in some semblance of order. “Oh.”
The talking cat--mauvian? Soyala...who just...magically brought out a pen and was giving it to Xander...who was called a different name, something very long which he doubted he would ever be able to remember without a lot of trouble, and then…
Resentment was thrown around?
“....What do you mean ‘of resentment’? Xander is the least resentful person in the world, he’s really, really kind and cares about everyone…I think you must have made some kind of mistake…” Quickly, the lieutenant snapped his mouth shut and looked down at his feet. “I mean...It just...doesn’t...fit him...I...I don’t think.”
Xander was good, and wonderful...not...resentful. That sounded like such a bad thing.

“Am… I like, in charge of resentment? Starting it? Stopping it? I’m … sorry sir and um…Miss Cat - for the questions this is just, uh… I mean magical uniforms were new and strange enough but. Boy…. uh…Tai-yang….shou…” He said it carefully, almost feeling it out as he glanced over the pen. “Thank you for the…pen?” He wondered if it was a resentful pen. Could pens be resentful? If cats could be talking aliens maybe pens could harbor grudges. But…hey, he was now going to be able to help Nelson! Er…Gizmondine, which sounded like a great deal even if his own ‘name’ seemed less like a steampunk tribute and more like a bowl of alphabet soup that maybe burned you. he offered a hand to see if the talking cat maybe wanted scratches, and hoped that wasn’t rude or too forward.

Axinite smiled politely at Soyala and gave her free reign to do what she needed. “Taiyangshou,” he repeated, to try out the name. “Unlike the Negaverse Agents, like Gismondine and myself, who fight with weapons, you are granted control over a special sphere,” he explained. “Senshi have such spheres, or realms of power. It is the type of magic you manifest. You’ll only know what that entails once you cast your Senshi magic, so we’ll have to find a good target for you to practice on.” He didn’t’ think he wanted to be on the receiving end of magic of such nature, General King or not. “Don’t put too much thought into it, Lieutenant Gismondine,” he assured, offering him a kind smile. “It’s not a reflection of his character in the slightest. It’s just what magic he can summon. It sounds like it should be very useful if he ever has to use it in battle.”

Soyala moved over to rub against Taiyangshou's hand, purring happily. Yes, scratches were always welcome, especially if, as she hoped, they might make this fresh Senshi feel more comfortable.
"It's as Axinite said. I've met Senshi with far worse spheres who were perfectly kind people. Monsters and mayhem and all sorts of things--but it's never meant anything about them." She hoped he wasn't too upset--a Senshi's sphere was meaningful, of course, but to think that it might be a reflection of something ill in that Senshi's heart...no.
"I'm glad the two of you have each other. It's always good to step into this world with a friend. And, of course, if you ever need anything, I would be happy to help."

“Man… You’re so soft!” Tiyanshou marveled. “I mean, I’m glad I’m not like… more resentful than I realized, but I’m also really glad to have met all of you, this is… I mean it’s a LOT, But it’s really cool too.” He admitted marveling at the idea of having magic of all things. “I hope I live up to the role you have for me in this uh…I mean.” He waved at his strange new clothes and then glanced back at Soyala and Axinite. “I mean, I’ll do my best!” Boy he half wished he could tell Jace about this, he probably could but, he didn’t want Jace to be even more tired, not with all the law things he was forever being grilled on. His poor brother already barely slept. The thought of him running about at night in a costume? He’d exhaust himself right into the hospital. No, far better to have this as a secret…for now. What could go wrong after all?
