Kisa was about to open her mouth to respond to Demitrious, when Thorival suddenly arrived. Show up an announce their marriage? Already?! She had literally[ just gotten here! She looked down at what she was currently wearing... A flowy opalescent blue colored dress, that was very pretty, but it wasn't quite formal attire. Plus the color.... she felt a bit nervous abut the idea of showing off her country's color in a room full of Reserians...

"U-Umn... sh-should I change...?" Kisa asked, but then they were told to make haste by the king himself. So as soon as Demitrious started walking, she scurried along behind him. I haven't had anytime to unpack yet, not that I brought much... but most of my clothes are pastels... this castle seems to have a lot of dark, rich colors... and I know how some Aquarians are about showing off blues and purples... hopefully no one is bothered by my blue clothes... I imagine they're going to want me to buy clothes of their country's colors... if I'm living in the castle... She kept following the two brothers, getting increasingly nervous. Kisa had absolutely zero idea how this was going to go.... why were they announcing the wedding already, just an hour or two after getting here? She had to make sure she made a good impression, and this really wasn't the right way to do that... but they couldn't afford to piss the King off for taking too much time, either...

Demitrious Von Varibon Reseria

"No you're good as you are now. My father says he want's something, it better happen."

They make their way to the main dining area where over thirty people are talking amongst themselves, wearing very lavish, articulated clothing bearing the coat of arms that differentiate themselves from each house. Their family coat of arms on one side with another bearing the mark of Reseria. A Dragon roaring out flames with two wings spread out with flames behind said wings.

A wealthy aristocrat adjusts his monocle as he notices the princess walk past and politely asks for them to stop and have a discussion with them.

"Hello young lady, are you the princess that is to be wed to the youngest prince? My word do you look beautiful. Nothing but the best for the best son of Alabaster no? Good heavens you are just so young and adorable. If you don't mind me asking are you pure as they say? You haven't even had a single love tryst? Does that mean the seal is perfectly shut?"

Demitrious smiles and pats the aristrocrat on the shoulder.

"I assure you that she is the finest specifimen that all of Aqueria has to offer. I mean only the best for yours truly."

Demitrious then does a half hearted semi bow. While the two are laughing, the look of disgust just shows on Thorival's face shows for a second before resuming to being stoic.

After some other nobility talk to Kisa, exchange pleaseantries, whispers of her not wearing the nations colors can be heard from the far edges of the crowd, eyes gather more and more upon Kisa, judging her from the look of shyness on her face, the reserved reactions she gives to how she even dresses. Questions from the unknown ask whether she is fit to be a potential queen of the nation, and if better candidates for marriage of the prince could have been found. The talk is disrupted by the King tapping a fork against the wine glass.

"Today we are gathered here to celebrate the announcement of the wedding of my dear, beautiful son Prince Demitrious, and the stunning beauty of Aqueria: Kisa Mirai. She will be a fine addition to the Reseria family and I look forward to welcoming her to with open arms. Bring out the champagne and let us celebrate their union! For the longevity of our nation and for the long lasting reign of Reseria!"

He raises his glass up high and when he does the cheer he downs the contents within. Following in Alabaster's stead, the rest of the crowd does the same. Demitrious holds his glass and gives it to Kisa, wrapping his arm around her after doing so.

"You should cheer too. Please have a drink. It's the finest wine. You should do so, as you will gain favor with the other nobility."

Getting another glass, Demitrious taps his glass against hers and drinks his wine.

Kisa walked with them into the dining room... Her eyes widened a bit, quickly feeling overwhelmed once she saw how many people were in the area. The entire room was decorated lavishly, and so was every single one of the guests. They looked like royalty themselves, especially with all of the insignia on their clothing. She wasn't super familiar with Reserian customs... she only knew enough to know their country believed in a lot of things Aquarians did not... and she knew they were a bit terrifying... seeing this huge fancy room fit with the image her people had portrayed them to be.... Rich, grandiose, and powerful. Not to mention scary. But in her church she practiced forgiveness and being non-judgemental... so that's what the princess tried to keep in the forefront of her mind.

She smiled timidly, trying her best to be attentive and listen, but it made her super nervous to open her mouth and speak. Kisa wasn't sure if she could somehow offend someone, since her views were all Aquarian. Things were so different here that she was almost scared to even answer yes or no questions. But since she was directly addressed by an aristocrat, she didn't really have a choice. Kisa had just started to open her mouth and respond, but Demitrious quickly intervened, which in turn was a huge relieve. Thank goodness... it's probably for the best I don't speak unless I have to... The water elf just smiled her little cute smile as the two laughed, but on the inside she was very alarmed. Wait... did he REALLY just ask what I think he just asked-?! Of course I'm pure-! Isn't Prince Demitrious-?! ....What if he isn't-? Wait, he probably isn't-! Oh my---I didn't even think of that until now-! Heavens help me-!! The creeping feeling of him being some kind of permicious person started swelling up inside her head, psyching Kisa out a bit internally. Don't judge, Kisa, you have no right to judge.... Besides... either way it's not like you have a choice... at least he's somewhat your age... it could be worse... She could bet Thorival wasn't like that, even though he seemed older than either of them... but he was noble, and pure, like her... God, why couldn't she be marrying Thorival?

She could tell people were talking about her, and it only added to her level of anxiety. They were whispering about her, she could hear little snippets of commentary on her appearance, her mannerisms, and her clothes. Aa... I hope I'm not... upsetting anyone... please don't hate me... Kisa mentally whimpered to herself, nervously tucking some of her hair behind one of her pointed ears. I need them to like me... for my country's sake.... The pressure started really getting to her head--What if they hated her so much they found someone else to marry to Demitrious? What if the King vetoed the contract because of it? What would happen to her father? Or her people?

Kisa started to feel her eyes water slightly as even alcohol got brought into the mix, almost breaking her at the concept. I can't-! I'm only sixteen-! She wanted to say, but the idea of rejecting a request terrified her. Drinking alcohol wasn't just bad for her being under age, but her church frowned upon it also, except for religious rituals. Casual drinking was a no-no.

The princess bit back the onset of the tears, mentally scolding herself. You HAVE to. You can't offend any of these people, at all cost-! Drinking might be wrong, but people's lives are at stake-! But what about her morals, her purity? My morals aren't worth someone's life.... Don't be selfish, Kisa... She forced herself to shakily bring the glass up to her lips, and took the tiniest sip of wine possible. She kept the horrified look off her face as she tasted the burn of alcohol for the first time. People LIKED this stuff?! EW-! Kisa kept her timid poker-face, resisting the urge to spit it out. Alcohol tasted awful... She kept holding her glass, trying to keep up appearances. But on the inside, she felt like some part of her soul had been ripped out.... This was the first time the girl had ever committed anything close to a sin.... and it really bothered her...

Demitrious Von Varibon Reseria

"So what do you think? This is Reseria's finest wine. Made from the finest grapes and cranberries one could ask for. Made directly from this Castle's vineyard! This is what it means to be Reserian. Enjoying a nice toast of wine from the King himself."

The prince smiles as he swirls his wine glass, letting the contents whirl. He pats her on the head with as much of a sincere smile as he can, secretly hiding that he is testing her, seeing how much she can drink before she can get all tipsy. He knows about her type, the goody two shoe church girl. The best way to get to them is by bringing them alcohol and watching their inhibitions vanish.

"I do implore that you try more, we have multiple kinds of flavors. Consider it a welcome gift for becoming a citizen of Resria, and a gift for becoming betrothed to me. Don't be shy, drink some more!"

All the nobility in the crowd then falls silent as all eyes gaze upon the Aquerian princess.

Thorival Reseria

Noticing how Demitrious, his brother is trying to mount a huge amount of pressure on the poor girl, he steps forward and clears his throat.

"If I may father... I would like to speak."

The King sits on his large kingly chair and with one hand resting on his cheek as he calmly watches the whole exchange, he gestures with his free hand signaling permission for Thorival to speak.

"Miss Mirai is about 16 years of age. I would like to say that maybe wine isn't so appropriate for her as our legal drinking age is 18 if I remember correctly. Which is a law that was put into place about 15 years ago by the King. So I wouldn't recommend the consumption of wine for Miss Kisa but rather maybe cranberry juice or even cherry juice. Something that our fine country produces that instills the pride of our nation of being an amazing beverage. That is my thoughts though. By all means please do what you like. I am just stating this as a matter of fact and this whole gathering is going to be widely publicized."

She was pretty sure the night couldn't get much more terrible at this point, since she had just been torn away from her home, and violated one of her major beliefs. But it seemed there was no escape in sight, Demitrious was pressing her to drink more, and everyone was staring right at her. Kisa tensed up, her heart beating quickly. He sounded like he was genuinely being nice, and kept petting her head as if to comfort her... but it didn't help, she was screaming on the inside.

I can't say no... Daddy, please help me-! I don't think I can do this-! Her hand trembled slightly, the wine in her glass shaking. Kisa didn't have to fret for long, though, because Thorival chimed in.

Thank you thank you thank you! She thought to herself, a huge wave of relief washing over her. Thorival just gave her the perfect out of this demoralizing situation. She felt like she could pull herself together now.

"O-Oh, I wouldn't want to violate any laws, especially in my new home country." Kisa looked up slightly, at Demitrious, with her bright aquamarine eyes. "I'd love to try the cherry juice, if I may? It sounds lovely." Hopefully she could avoid consuming any more alcohol, at least for the next two years.

Demitrious Von Varibon Reseria

Anger flickers across his face as his gaze at Thorival can burn through paper if it was stuck between the two. His mouth shut, teeth clenched he forces a smile and nods, poorly hiding his irritation at his brothers interference.

"Oh.... Silly me.... I had forgotten such law.... I have.... not been made aware such a law existed since I am indeed 19 years of age. It brings sorrow to my heart that such a law had been forgotten. Thank you brother! Thank you SOOOO much for saving the day. You make me and your father PROUD that you are a knight in training! Such a great knight you will be indeed! Alas.... that leaves succession up for debate since you are going to be a knight.... what happens when you.... sadly pass during duty?"

Demitrious then turns to Kisa when she asks for cherry juice.

"Ah yes of course. Withers! Please bring us a nice tall glass of the freshest, finest...."

His voice gets VERY VERY low.

"CHERRY juice. The freshest, SQUEEEZED Cherries."

A small shiver ran down her spine, tensing up slightly again. Kisa could feel the anger that seemed to radiate off of the younger Reserian prince. It instantly set a fear back inside of her, honestly scared a fight was going to ensue. She, of course, thought it was solely for his hatred for his older brother, not necessarily because he had just ruined his plan to get her drunk. Instead of yelling, though, Demitrious just rattled on about the law, and then the commentary about Thorival's knighthood. She bit her lip slightly, silently horrified. How... How could he say that about his own brother-!? He really hates his older brother that much-? Who could hate Thorival? He's always so nice, and polite...

"Th-Thank you..." Kisa looked down at her lap anxiously. I really don't want to be here... Poor Thorival.... and Demitrious is... frightening... She folded her hands and set them on top of her thighs while she continued to look downward. He's mean... ugh, Kisa, quit judging him, you don't know him that well yet.... maybe he's actually a good person, deep down... he hasn't done anything terrible yet... Even though her gut kept screaming: ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun, she continued to mentally scold herself and convince herself to ignore every fiber of her being.

Demitrious Von Varibon Reseria

After the party and all the nobles got to congratulate the two on the engagement and were told the time and place of when the wedding will take place, Demitrious and Kisa go to bed for the night.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the morning Demitrious walks out of the bathroom in his bathrobe draped over him and he walks over to where Kisa is sleeping in the bed, noticing the dried tears he just shakes his head irritatingly.
"Man, she just has no concept on how things works. Irritating. Very irritating..... yet.... fun...."
He walks over to her and puts his hand on her forehead, shaking her a little more than gently.
"Hey sleepy head, it's time to get up. We are going to the town square to make the formal announcement to the peasants that we are getting married and we are a big deal. Hurry up and get dressed. I just got done taking a bath so the water is still there. You can use that. Chop chop"
As he says that he throws the blankets off of her, revealing her nightgown to the world.
Kisa was woken suddenly, squeaking loudly when the blanket came flying off of her. Her nightgown was completely visible, and the cool air hit her full force now that she didn't have something to cover up with. The young princess blushed and covered herself up shyly with her arms, not used to being so scantily clad in front of anyone. She might have slept next to him last night, but being covered with a blanket felt a lot more comfortable than this. She hurried into the bathroom with her suitcase, and bathed rather quickly.
The pastel elf came out in a simple white dress with long draping bell sleeves. It was a dress she often wore at the church where she grew up.
"I-I don't have very many items of clothing... I hope this is okay..." Kisa said, eyes darting down to the floor. Most of her clothes were white, but her blue ones wouldn't cut it... or her kimono. She didn't want to offend anyone... she was probably going to have to get an entire new wardrobe here, but she wasn't about to go asking for someone to spend money on her either... So hopefully white wouldn't offend people. But she was nervous now because it just occurred to her that Demitrious was probably going to hate every single piece of clothing she brought with her, because his tastes were very refined.... and her clothes were all simple and sweet for church. Hopefully he didn't get too angry...
Demitrious Von Varibon Reseria
The prince eyes her, starting at her feet and looking up to her eyes. Taking in the sight of her outfit that she is in. The thoughts of "What are we a god damn church?" and "God she is one goody two shoe piece of..... booty."
Bringing a hand up to his chin in contemplation, he thinks for a bit and after a little bit, these words are spoken:
"Do you not have anything more..... red in nature? Like purple or something. Hell even pink would work to stick with the theme of our kingdom? Do you literally not have anything that is red? I mean purple would be good since it's the unity of red and blue."
With a sigh, he then walks over to her and puts his hands on her shoulders, looking down into her eyes.
"Looks like we are going to be shopping first. I suppose a new wardrobe of clothing is in order for you..... What is your last name again? Eh, doesn't matter you're going to be a Reseria soon. I need to make sure that we will get you the right size."
Walking over to the bell near the entrance to his room, he rings it three times and with crossed arms, leans against the wall in wait for the servant to come up.
"One of my servants are going to be coming up to take your measurements. Be sure to be firm with your orders on her. She needs to keep on task without much distraction."
Stomp. Thud. Stomp. Thud. Stomp. Thud.
Went the sound of the dragon-blooded man's boots slamming against the cement bricks underneath his feet, dragging something behind him. He was being loud with his presence as he made his way down to the slave barracks on the lowest floor underneath the castle, intent on making his presence known to everyone down below. The dark skinned male with raven black hair let out a gruff snort as he exhaled with a bit of smoke in his breath. He walked to the fullest slave pen possible, and yanked a girl out from behind him in a maid's dress. She had on a filthy blindfold, that was soaked with dirt and blood, and blood was slowly oozing and trickling down from the blindfold, down her cheeks. She couldn't stand, as her legs and one of her arms was completely broken, so she was only being held up by the man's hand gripped on the back of her neck. He wasted no time, and callously threw her into the cell, slamming the door shut, allowing the guard in charge to relock it. The female slammed against the rocky floor, sluggishly craning her head in his direction, spitting at his feet in defiance.
A flicker of rage flashed on the man's face, wanting to continue their little torture session, but he quickly recanted the thought and instead just scowled down at her.
You'll be BEGGING for us to take you back, you stupid little whore.
He didn't say anything out loud, though, as there wasn't nothing else left to say to her. It was over. The dragonic male started walking, his boots still loud, as he drifted past the other cells. This basement was a terrible, disgusting place. All of the disobedient slaves got locked down here, to be starved or tortured, either leaving them to die or having them straighten out into nice obedient servants. No one really cared which one it ended up being in most cases, there was plenty of new slaves in line to replace them if they perished in defiance. So there was only two ways to leave this horrible place... and that was give-in and work your a** off, or leave in a body bag. All of the slaves locked down here deserved it, for some reason or another. Reseria was a merciless country, and the royal castle itself was no different.
Golden eyes scanned each of the cells, taking in the pitiful view. Which new toy would he go home with today-?
"A-Aa... n-no... I'm sorry... I-I don't...." Kisa stuttered out, honestly fearful that might upset him or someone else. They weren't supposed to wear red in Aquaria, Reseria practically banned the color red in just about any fabric in any of the other countries. It was a statement color they kept only for Reserians. An Aquarian throwing on a red outfit was practically a suicide attempt.
"Mm..." She started to say 'Mirai', to answer his question about her last name, but he quickly turned to saying it didn't matter, so she bit her tongue. The elf girl looked down at the floor nervously, feeling badly that a servant was having to come up to measure her.... but it would get a lot worse if she tried to talk him out of doing this, wouldn't it? Most likely. So she stayed quiet, nervously standing there and letting the slave measure her form.
I... I don't think I can get used to making slaves.... do everything... this so horrible... I can't stand it...
Once it was over and they were finally on their way, Kisa kept following Demitrious to show her where they were going.
"Do... Do the servants do everything around here...?" She asked, talking quietly, "Or just... specialized tasks...?" She really hoped it was only a few things, like waiters, chefs, seamstress.... but it almost seemed like royalty didn't even dress themselves half the time... why were there so many slaves?
Wynter
There were no words to even remotely describe how utterly pissed Wynter was at this shitty situation. It was one thing to get ******** over by a once-reliable intel, but to be ******** over so bad that she was caught and sentenced to slavery as punishment... That was a whole other shitshow in itself. Oh how badly she wanted to hunt that b*****d down and make him regret life itself. The sad thing was that pretty much the entirety of the low-born subjects already did. Life. ********. Sucked. Everyone knew that already.
Her small frame was leaning against the wall, hugging her arms across her chest since her shirt was torn to s**t, the same went for her leggings. Really, Wynter hadn't even put in work yet, she had fought anyone who tried to clean her up or make her change. Truthfully she could deal with the filthy environment down here, to her it was better than whatever hell they had set up around the castle for female slaves. If it was one thing, she refused to be some used up whore for some sicko who never got off his fat a**. They could go shove that s**t up their-
Her body jolted as the sound of thunderous stomping echoed throughout the small space, noticing it was eerily quiet like it got when someone was coming to pick out a pet, or drag someone off to get the s**t beat out of them. Her bright silver eyes snapped up to watch. The other four girls in her cell slid to the back, Wynter not taking the cue that standing towards the front made her more of a target. She refused to be some scared little wimp who obeyed just because pain sucked. As she watched the scene unfold without a word from the male and the female who had just been thrown into a cell, she brushed her choppy, shoulder blade length hair away from her grimy face to get a better look. She grimaced slightly, whoever that girl was looked like utter s**t, all but what, one of her limbs was bent at an awkward angle? She just gave a soft, barely audible sigh. So it was either end up like that, or prance around with basically a sign over her head reading; "hit me, I can't clean s**t anyways".
When she could hear the male begin to walk back down the hall, she simply stared. She should have known better to just disappear into the back of the cell, but part of her was curious what kind of ******** roamed around the castle she was doomed to. It was safe to say he looked like a pretty big a*****e, even by looks alone.
Demitrious Von Varibon Reseria
Raising an eyebrow at Kisa's question, turns to look at her while they walk down the large halls of the castle.
"Why does it matter if they do everything or not? We have servants and they do what we ask, it's that simple. Don't want to do anything? Ask them to do it. I take it you don't like the idea of them simply doing everything? Or would you like to show them how to do some things? It would be a valuable learning experience for them"
A smug atmosphere emanates from the smile that he gives the poor princess his options about how servants are used here, little does she know there is a very, very dark dark world down in the lower depths of the castle, hundreds of feet below the ground.
After having traveled to the front of the castle, where the carriages are prepped for any of the castle's denizens to travel to town in luxury.
"Get in, we are going to be heading to the market place in the more luxurious side of the town to shop for what items we want to have in our wedding, and what type of gifts we would want. Dinners, performers, dancers, anything that you can think of!"
Patting the seat next to him, he doesn't even attempt to help her up onto the carriage.
Kisa bit her lip a little bit, after hearing his answer. She should have expected a response like that...
He probably doesn't know how to do anything by himself, if slaves are forced to do everything around here... there's so many of them... I feel so bad even eating the food they're made to cook... but what can I possibly do to change anything? I have to remember I'm practically in the same boat... I can't afford to anger him, or anyone here in Reseria...
The elf princess got in and sat down next to him, used to behaving like an average citizen, so his ill-manners went right over her head about helping her into the carriage. She blinked at him, wondering why they needed all of that...
"Gifts...? Do we need anything?" Kisa asked, tilting her head slightly. What kind of gifts did they even need? Everything was already provided here... Engaged couples usually made a gift-list of kitchen and household items to be given to them at their wedding... but they didn't need any of that stuff... right...?
The large man kept stomping down the hall of cells, ignoring all of the pained cries of the slaves inside. He couldn't possibly care less about any of them, these cages were all full of.... garbage. Broken goods. Only fresh meat would do... the rest of these whiny bitches were all boring trash in his eyes. Until his serpant-slitted eyes locked onto a girl that was nonchalantly leaning against a wall.
I'm picking this time.
Suit yourself.
The voice echoed in his head, as he motioned for the guard to come over and unlock the door.
"That one." He pointed right at Wynter, and the guard attempted to walk in and grab the girl by her arm, to yank her out of the cell.
