Priam hummed thoughtfully, smiling at the little kiss to his neck. "Oh, scandalous, Yu. I don't know if I've ever even seen Sterling's handwriting, what if it's atrocious?" he laughed, and gave him an extra squeeze, like through it he could give him a little extra strength and love.
"We'll have to make him write us love letters first, when he comes home."
He relaxed a bit, himself; it was easy hugging Yu. He didn't have to stand on his tiptoes or stretch to reach him, and it was so easy to just lean against him and hold him. "If it makes you feel any better, I've been paranoid, too. I don't know what's got Odie and Penny so worked up. They've never gone off barking like they have in the past few weeks. I am sorry for them. When I'm better, I'm going to take them to the vet and make sure it's all right. If it's kids, that's one thing."

"...I'll keep my eyes out, just in case. Destiny City is...Well. You know, something's always happening somewhere. I just hope there's nothing going on in our neighborhood."
He hadn't thought much of it, 'our' neighborhood; he'd spent so much time here that he felt like he was a part of it. He missed his home, he had mentioned needing to go back and get some things not so long ago, but he had settled in comfortably here, and was doing his best not to be a complete waste of space while he recovered. His health was improving, sometimes slowly and sometimes in great spurts, and he knew that at some point in time he'd be well enough to go home.
...He was just enjoying all the time he got to spend with them, now.

Yu kissed his neck again and hummed. “I…could take them, my next day off if you want. I’m sure they’re ok, at least appetite wise. He huffed out a breath thoughtful. “….I can suggest we all make room downstairs too, sorta dog pile sleep….with dogs, and a cat. It… just, safety in numbers or something you know?” He murmured. “And I mean, I’m way more comfortable to lean on than a horse.” He teased trying to bring something brighter back into the talk.

Priam bit his lip and smiled again at the kiss, closing his eyes and relaxing against him. "You are. Your arms feel safe, and I don't have to worry that you're going to step on my toes or hit me with your start licking my face. And you're you, so that makes this more special."
He rubbed Yu's back as best he could with his good arm. "Safety in numbers sound really nice. But also just being close to you two. And both of you are allowed into my bed any time you want a nap. I'm healing up pretty well, I think. Soon I'll be able to properly curl up next to you and you won't have to worry about me hurting myself."
...He wanted to be better sooner rather than later, if not just so he could function but so he wasn't so helpless.
He was terrified of any sort of retaliatory attack, terrified of something worse happening; he was durable, he'd survived everything up until now. But Sterling, or Yu?
...They deserved better.

He wanted to promise that he’d find who did this, find the one using ‘his name’ to hurt people. He wanted to promise that he’d keep them safe. But they couldn’t know…and if they did what would they think? He was so close to someone who knew some of his worst secrets. He was one of the costumed ‘terrorists’ even if he was trying hard to defend the city, working with good people like Cavansite…. “I will…do everything in my power to keep you safe.” He promised. He would even if they left him behind he decided. He’d do so much for them, because, perhaps, unfortunately, he did love them. He loved them SO much, and he’d said so before, but he felt it like a knife twisting in his chest. Blame how tired he was, blame the late nights, the hunting for answers. Blame nightmares and accusations and the utter fear of not knowing where they had gone… But he loved them… and he couldn’t change that. “… thanks for being…you.”

"I couldn't be anyone else if I tried, my dear," he said, and kissed his cheek. Ilya was a distant thought, and he couldn't even find it in his heart to feel bad for making him wait out there when it meant that he got to hold Yu like this--to be held like this.
"I'll do everything in my power to keep you safe, too. And if you don't need my protection, I'll give you my love, all right?"
He still hadn't broken the hug, and continued to gently run his hand up and down his back in as soothing a gesture as he could.

Yu let out a soft sound, squeezing just a little more before making himself draw back out of the hug. “I’ll take whatever you’re willing to offer,” he promised. Bumping his forehead lightly against Priam’s for a moment. “I’d…better deliver those leftovers before he thinks I’m feeding them to the dogs.” He grinned. “I don’t think he knows they are -actually horses.” “Follow me out for a picnic still?” He offered. “It’s too good to waste, I can tell already.” He murmured and turned reluctantly towards the fridge to find what he was after.

Priam knew in that instant that he probably would have given Yu anything he wanted, and he would have done it willingly and with a heart full of love. He didn't want to draw away, but they had plans; Yu had to get back to Ilya, and Priam had to go set up their picnic.
"Of course, I still want a picnic with you. I worked hard on this, I want to make sure it gets eaten. The dogs have had enough already, don't let them fool you with those puppy dog eyes. I'll follow you out, if you can get the door I know I can carry all of this out."
He'd had everything set on a tray--and more than just trying to play the balancing game, he had the glasses in cup holders to make sure he didn't let them topple.
It wasn't heavy, and his balance wasn't so bad that he was afraid of dropping anything. He was confident that he could do this--and excited to share this with Yu.

“L…let me know if I can take anything too.” He added hastily, half embarrassed that he hadn’t before, and had just suggested that Priam follow without remembering that there were logistics like doors. “We don’t want the horses to decide to be especially bold for the sake of a good sandwich.” He offered a shy smile and moved to prop the door open, he shooed the dogs back as best he could, watching them for signs of adventure. “I’ll promise to fix the fence so we can have a dog run as soon as I can too.” He offered. “I’m sure we can make a… kitty cubby with the right stuff too.” He added, he couldn’t forget Oreo, after all, all the …people and creatures who had made nests and hooked claws into his heart.

"It's okay!" he said, smiling proudly as he lifted the tray. He seemed relieved when he actually managed to lift it off the counter and he smiled at Yu like he had something worth being proud of.
He shuffled after him, stepping out of the house.
"I'm lucky these babies are gentle, I'm glad they haven't realized that they could jump on me and I'd just go down, and all the food would be theirs." He loved the idea that Yu was so willing to make the dogs comfortable that he was prepared to fix up the fence, and the idea of a little kitty cubby sounded just charming. He leaned over to give Yu a gentle kiss as he passed him. "Don't take too long with Ilya. I want to hold your hand again," he said, far more comfortable with expressing his fondness for gentle physical affection. He passed by him and made his way to the tree, carefully setting down the tray and then spreading the blanket. His back wasn't his biggest fan in that moment, but he needed to make sure his muscles didn't forget how to work.
Ilya was still standing about where he'd been left, busying himself with a little weeding in Yu's absence; when he heard the two of them he turned back--but then immediately glanced away at the kiss, as if he meant to give them some privacy in their relationship.

“Nice...” breathed out Yu as the platter was lifted cleanly from the counter. “I will admit, you have well behaved horses, must be because of who loves them.” He smiled into the kiss, standing watching for a moment longer m, savoring the distance from a Ilya for a moment, as well as the view of Priam walking with more ease then when he had first ‘come home’ before walking back towards the fence. “Here, mmm most of it went into the sauce, but I tried making a pesto too, it’s ... it’s not great, but it was okay on bread.” He offered up the Pyrex and its colorful plastic lids. “The pasta came out okay though.” He added. He hadn’t been sure he could pull off making pasta but for all that it was a touch thick, thanks to Sterling’s guidance it had come out okay.

Ilya glanced over while he was being addressed and reached over the fence to accept the container. "Thank you," he said, holding the container like it was some priceless treasure. He'd never be forgiven if he dropped it on the ground and spilled everything right here in front of him.
"I'll make sure you get it back soon."
He glanced over Yu's shoulder at Priam, who was making good work of smoothing out the blanket, although Ilya suspected he might benefit from some assistance.
"...I'll leave you two to your lunch," he said, "I'm sorry for interrupting. Thank you for taking the time to talk to me."
Did he appreciate it? More than the yelling match he expected this to break into.
...And, despite how little he wanted to admit it...
The idea that the last of his herbs had gone into something homemade, something created with love, shared...
For all the despair he'd felt at losing his garden, he felt the embers of hope rekindling at the idea of picking back up again, even if it meant starting out small. Even if it meant going back to a little garden in the windowsill.

Yu nodded his reply to the thanks, it had been better than he thought, though he still carried the weight of it with him. How long would it take to make that slide away? He had no idea…. He was stronger than he looked, it was fine. He watched Ilya for a moment and then turned his gaze back to Priam and a soft smile crept in when he wasn’t watching. “Enjoy.” He said back and hoped against hope that he would. Not that it would spend requisite days in the fridge and be tossed in the bin. He had things to actually enjoy while he had them. He wandered towards Priam and the blanket, and the picnic and pretended that there wasn’t a bit of ache in his heart.
