“Errmmm…” He fished out his own phone, it was a little ‘add minutes’ thing from a box store because he didn’t have faith in sticking to a contract, but it was mostly because he sure as hell didn’t remember his own phone number out of hand. He looked it up and then added it to her phone. - Assigning himself the name ‘Hey Yu’ because for all that, he was still a smarts. “Negaspace, Parisite… Corruption…” He shook his head. “You guys have the…strangest naming conventions. Do I earn a cooler name or am I just stuck with ‘sounds like something you catch on vacation’ for my, secret identity name?” He arched an eyebrow. “Right, Suppose I should add you too so I don’t get, like, confused if you message me.” He crinkled his nose and made a contact for her as well, “K…or C?” He asked with a sideways glance trying to figure out how to spell her name in turn. He rubbed his neck and thought about his schedule for the next week or so. “Eh… Wednesday. I’ve got morning class butI traded my shift at work today, working a double so someone can do what they need and I sort of have time off.. sort of, since I guess now it’s field trip time?”

She snorted at him and shook her head. “Sadly, you’ll be stuck with the name. It’s registered to you already…it’s not a bad one though. It’s memorable. And, I figured you’d be someone who would want to be remembered. It’s Karone with a K, K-a-r-o-n-e.”
She wore a small smile. “You’re not the only one with a unique name, and Wednesday it is. That sounds like a perfect day to have a field trip.” She looked thoughtful and eyed the dwindling container of nuggets, stealing two, but leaving the last for Yu. “I’ll meet you back where your car was parked at six? Would that be good enough? You can bring dinner for us. Or we can grab something on the way. Whatever you’d like.”
Though, she hoped that he brought dinner. Especially if it was garlic chicken…right now she would just about murder someone for some.

He made a small noise. “I’ll cook.” He sighed watching her face, and then offered her the last nugget rather than taking it.
He flicked the edge of the container. “….do you need another round?” He asked after a cautious moment. “Hungry isn’t cool.” He shrugged and tried hard to look bored. “…Garlic Chicken, long grain rice, steamed broccoli… Don’t… like, forgot to leave room on Wednesday.” He huffed. “I’m NOT bringing a drink, thats on you.” He added like that was somehow a power play. “If I can’t find a parking spot I’ll let you know where I’m at.” He added. “This works best in the evening because everyone’s closed and I don’t have to pay for a parking garage.” “Am I gonna need gas for this field trip? I need to know if I need to top off.”

Her face lit up utterly against her will when he said that he would cook, and when he mentioned just what he would cook, Karone licked her lips in anticipation without realizing it. Just how long had it been since she had a home cooked meal? …Years now?
Not that it really mattered much. And, that wasn’t true. She would visit Gale every once in a while, but…
But she hadn’t gone to visit her sister hardly at all since Amesite was…well. Was killed.
Pain shot through her expression at that and she took the last nugget, muttering a soft word of thanks.
“I’ll have something to drink in my office, don’t worry about that. You don’t need to worry about your car, so long as you’re at the meeting spot, I’ll teleport us down to Negaspace and we’ll go from there. You sure do ask a lot of questions. That’s smart. I’m proud of you already, Yu. Thank you again for feeding me. I think I’m getting full, but…I’m very excited for Wednesday now. That menu sounds superb.”
And perhaps she could have some kind of dessert waiting in the office for him. He had mentioned sweets for a bad day…and…
Yes. She’d get some candy. It was getting close to Halloween…that didn’t sound like so bad an idea.

He may have caught that flash of pain, knowing eyes that sometimes screamed ‘old soul’ and everything that actually implied. But he knew the value of not asking sometimes too, because you didn’t always want to -share-. “Never expected to cook for people who knew it was me.” He shrugged, he was -never- going to admit that it meant something to hear people enjoying it. really, enjoying it. Not just ‘this is acceptable’ didn’t come back kinda cooking. “Right… that… freaky-teaky vanishing trick.” He murmured. “Not gonna lie, even with weird new secret identities, thats one of the harder things to wrap my head around.” He hesitated and then added a question. “… Ok… one more question at least, I don’t have … a mask or anything, how am I gonna keep people from recognizing me. I mean, I don’t know a lot of people, I can probably avoid ones who KNOW know me but… face… hell I have a tattoo they might see if my sleeve rolls back, fewer people probably know that one but…That seems like a pretty big deal.”

“It’s magic.” Karone shrugged and gave a rather lopsided grin. “…I know that sounds like such a cop out, but it’s the truth. My own sister wouldn’t know me as Cavansite, unless she saw me power up in front of her, which is another good reason you don’t want to power up at home. There’s magic that makes you seem like a whole different person, and no matter your face, or the tattoos you have…something about being Parisite will keep them from knowing it’s…well.”
She laughed softly. “Yu. It’s not just a secret identity, it’s more like a whole new persona. Magic keeps people from knowing that you’re Yu and that you’re also Parisite. Again, I don’t know how it does…I just know that it does.”
Shifting slightly, Karone began fiddling with her phone, sending the male a quick text message with nothing more than an emoji with its tongue sticking out.
“You won’t be able to teleport right away…that won’t come until you’re promoted to be a Captain, but…hopefully that won’t take too terribly long. I love when my kids go on to reach higher levels. I’ll be keeping my eye on you so…I’ll make sure to let the General Sovereigns know when you’re ready.” Karone glanced back over at him.
“If you have questions before Wednesday, don’t hesitate to send me a text, or call even. Or just…write them down so I can answer them all when we see one another again.”

“Alright.” He nodded after a moment. He was skeptical sure but, glasses kept people from knowing Clark Kent was Superman, so… maybe freaky clothes kept people from making other connections. He didn’t -really like- that he wasn’t as mad at her as when this all started, he was still…tired and cranky but it was also, interesting. Who didn’t kinda dream about being a low budget batman? “Right… ok, garlic chicken, meet at the lot, Wednesday, send you questions because I guess you’re a… my…boss. Anything else I should know?”

Karone seemed thoughtful and finally shook her head. “Nope, I don’t think so. I am your boss, and your mentor, and I won’t let you fall. I haven’t let any…” She hesitated and sighed. “I haven’t let any of my recruits fall. Not willingly. But. Car accidents don’t care if you’re powerful or not.”
She shook her head and flashed a warm smile before closing her eyes briefly and powering back up into General Cavansite. “See you Wednesday, I’m very excited to see what you’ll bring to our organization. Stay safe, Yu.”
With a nod of her head, she vanished once more into the night, taking her drink with her.
But, Wednesday would come soon.
