"No, I can't blame them. If we let this take over...then what? What do we power down to?" Nothing, or some sort of destroyed life.This wasn't worth the loss of a normal life, though this was important. It was all about balance and she had been out of balance for a while now, and she knew it, that's why she was here tonight - to try and do better.
"I have people who will look for me, the civilian me, as well. Me, the senshi...not so much. It is hard to make connections here." At least for her and it wasn't something she was used to, she was good at making friends as a civilian. She was a social butterfly with a good amount of friends in the world outside of this one.
"Nephthys...or you can call me Genevieve..." And it looked like people were breaking up into groups finally. "Looks like it's time of us to part ways and start the nights training session."

He had been watching people talk, and socialize, with each other the whole while he’d remained silent - an observer. At some points it felt like he was trying to be anti-social in order to not get close and risk making a connection, someone who might change his mind, but that wasn’t it. He wanted to watch and learn...to see if they were what he thought they were. He wanted to be sure - he needed to be sure! He was looking to make a huge change in his life and he needed to be sure of it before he did it, though the freshly healed bit on his neck already proclaimed his choice made, he still needed to see this group for himself. He’d been brought into the war on this side and he needed to see some of them himself, to see what he’d been brought into, before he left this side.
Though it did feel like he wasn’t trying...wasn’t looking to make himself a place in this group when he finally had a chance. Like he had given up even before he’d actually been able to join in any sort of group activity, which proved they did have some organization, he had already chosen what to believe this side was and wasn’t. It felt strange and surreal in a way, something he had a hard time putting words to but he knew the feelings which he felt.
Raising a hand up to his neck, splaying his hand over the mark there, he kept his dark eyes focused on everyone. If maybe someone had been there along with the cat...if there had been follow up….someone to take him under their wing. Maybe then he wouldn’t have found Wolframite and fallen into the others waiting arms, sorta speak, but he’d had nothing but a cat and magic given to him. The cat had talked, of course, but then left him and there was no one there to help him or make him want to do anything. No one was there to tell about the war and the why and who and what.
He could have just ignored it all, easy to do for someone like him, but he hadn’t ignored it. He’d gone out and powered up and he just….there was nothing. Then there had been Wolframite and he’d had answers and someone to talk to and learn from.
His attention came into focus as the one running the event seemed to take charge and announce a start to things. Moving forward when his name was called, and grabbing a sports drink on the way, he took a moment to look over the person he’d be dealing with tonight. For now, for tonight, he’d focus on being a senshi and try and do his best. He needed to learn how to fight anyway - no matter what side he was on.

Page SumnerBefore Sumner had had a chance to go and find the other Page, it appeared to be the start of the training now. At least he hoped it was, he wasn’t sure if they were going to do some more talking and let them mingle a bit more or finally get down to business. And he really hoped that they would, as much as he wanted to get to know the other’s that he would, hopefully, be fighting with, he still needed to actually learn how to fight, how to train different skills. He could swim, that’s for sure, and he could give CPR, first aid, etc. to others, but to actually get into a fight and win? He was pretty sure he had only been lucky up until this point. That and he quite often had to run away. As… safe as that was, he couldn’t keep doing that and expect to unlock the next level to become a Squire. Heck, Pendour, whom he had seen around, was a Squire and he knew that he had gone through so much already and she was just a Squire. He would never even get to that point at this rate if he kept running away! Still, he turned his attention to the speaker, wondering what they would be talking about.

Sawtooth
It was a complicated situation, wasn't it? Sawtooth recognized that it was his duty, practically a social obligation to take up this knight's mantle. He couldn't exactly ignore it, if there were dark forces out there trying to ruin the world.
But neither was it really what he wanted. He wanted a safe Earth for his family, but he'd never expected he'd have to engage in a magical war to achieve as much. If he didn't try to learn and help, that was just one less soldier on his side, protecting the peace. But if he fell too hard into it, he could alienate himself from the people he cared most about... It was a lot to think about, enough to make anyone anxious. And the only real solution was to just do what he could.
Sawtooth gave a cough of a laugh as he nodded at the senshi's words. "Too bad the civis won't know where to look for us if we go missing. At least this way, we'll have someone on our side who knows what to keep an eye out for, Nephthys."
As Cybele began calling out the pairs, Sawtooth shot a last smile to the other girl. "Nice meeting you. Hopefully we'll learn a little something from this."

Kitty
The guy studying the signup sheet didn't seem willing to be bothered by any of Kitty's small talk. Besides being infinitesimally annoyed at being ignored, Kitty decided he was better off just leaving this one be. He could huff and throw a fit (how dare someone ignore him when he was just trying to be friendly!), but that... probably wouldn't win him any favors.
He definitely didn't want to be the one that caused an awkward scene at his first gathering. He had too much class for that, and this guy wasn't worth the effort.
So Kitty shrugged it off as their organizer called everyone to attention and begin to rattle off the names of pairs. Fine, Fiiiine. That was what they were here for, anyway. He could at least look forward to meeting his new sparring partner. Maybe it was even someone he'd already nabbed a picture of and hadn't bothered to look at the name...
Since he clearly wasn't wanted here, Kitty slipped away from the signup board without another word and moved closer to hear Cybele and see all the others gathered there.
Some were obviously far stronger that him, Cybele included, with way more experience than Kitty had in the scant week since his awakening. Good. Maybe he really would be paired with someone with a lot of wisdom to offer him. And if not, then hopefully he'd at least have the opportunity to show off some of his own tricks...
Time would tell.
