She didn't know a lot about architecture, but Amaranth knew a charming house when she saw one, and this one was simply gorgeous. At least, from the outside so far.

As she stood behind Domcallion as he got out his key to unlock the door, she noticed the little windows located practically on the ground and noted how he had mentioned living in the basement. The lights were off down there so she couldn't really get a peek, but she wondered if it was cold living down there? Surely with all the money he spent on the funeral home itself, he had put some money in to his own living space, even if it was a basement.

Never-the-less, when he opened the door and let her walk in, she was amazed at the rustic warmth she found within.

The color pallet was simple - the mohogany wooden floors, cabinetry and table were complemented by cream walls, and there were decorative accents of rust, brown, marigold, and deep greens here and there throughout. It looked like Dom kept the decor fairly simple. She could forgive some of the antler decor, like the chandelier or coat rack, just because they fit so well. The front door opened right into the dining area and kitchen, but the floor plan itself seemed rather open, with the living room just beyond the partial wall of the kitchen and a thick wooden beam. The stairs leading to the second floor split the living room and a sun room.

Amaranth wondered in slowly, taking it all in.

It was neat, it was clean, and it was warm and inviting. She could imagine winters sitting on the couch in front of the fire - for there was a beautiful stone fire place! Or reading in the sun room watching the snow fall, the leaves change, the flowers bloom...

There was no way she would have been able to afford such accommodations by herself. Honestly, she had given up the idea of ever owner a house with the way the housing economy and her generation were continuously being screwed. Ugh, she could be making no wadge and just getting to live here would be enough.

Well...okay yeah some wage was good. But the sentiment still stood!

"This place is amazing," she finally said, realizing she was pretty much just quietly walking around in circles with her mouth agape in awe.

Amaranth took a peek at the rooms, and had to admit that yes, the larger one was definitely more to her liking. It looked out to the forest behind the house, and had another additional window. Bonus that it was also right next to the bathroom. All things considered, if this were to become her long-term residence, she'd be quite content.

They discussed more things, house rules and such, but there was only so much to say before it became too obvious that one was fishing for a way to stretch out their time. soon, they were back inside the funeral home, in the lobby, and Domcallion was sending her off with the promise that he'd be in touch soon. Whether that was with an offer or a rejection, Amaranth wasn't sure, but she certainly hoped it was with an offer.

Janice placed a small wrapped parcel of cookies - oh those delicious butter cookies - in her hands as they said their goodbyes.


She was in her car when she breathed out a long sigh of releif. And hope. She was in high spirits, but not for long, when she fished out her phone from her bag. It had squirmed its way down at the bottom, below her wallet and even her henshin pen. She saw four text messages for a contact named; 'Boyfriend', and riding the high of her excitement, immediately called.

"Hey! I saw you messaged me! Guess what! Today I had that interview an-"

She was stopped as the person on the other end of the line interrupted her. As they went on, her face began to fall, eventually to be replaced with an annoyed, then defeated, expression.

"Alright, I'll be there tonight to watch you and the guys play, then. The usual bar, right? Okay. I'll go home and get ready. See you."

Soon after she hung up the phone, dropping it back in to her bag. A moment later, she was driving out of the parking lot and headed home.
