Indira was beginning to feel a little befuddled by this entire experience. This doe was fast, this doe was smart, and she was putting Indira to shame! Maybe this was Grandfather Tree's way of telling her this sort of frivolity just wasn't meant for her. But still, she had come this far, and it felt wrong to quit now. And the doe was just so lovely to look upon ... Perhaps time to allow herself a little more fun. Surely the game this doe was playing was starting to draw to a close ...

The came the doe's request. A dance. A prickly feeling crept over Indira. Could she possibly exhibit the charm and grace needed to pull this off? She more used to traipsing through the Barrens than dancing. But, this was a time of celebration, and she supposed it couldn't hurt to try. She was usually quite light on her feet. She dipped her head politely to the lithe doe, and began.

Indira pranced lightly from hoof to hoof, swaying her tail to music on she could hear. She began to speed up, moving in a more complex pattern. Her heart seemed a little freer as she frolicked. It was like she was dancing to celebrate the expansion of Homewood, the healing of Vykeli, to good work done by many hooves. In jubilation, she jumped high into the hair, kicking out her hind legs. She landed with surprising grace, and turned to address the doe. "I don't know if that dance has a name, but you can join me and we can celebrate the expansion together!" The comment felt a little coy to Indira, but it didn't feel wrong.

Tempest felt a thrill go up her spine when the doe teased her with a potential tag back. It’d been a while since someone would be interested in playing with her. Despite the doe being coy and slippery, Tempest enjoyed it. It was like the ultimate game of tag, the ultimate game of follow me. The voice in the back of her mind was humming, “show them, wow them, release your inhibitions.” For so long, Tempest had beaten down everything about herself that made others uncomfortable. The race through the maze set her free.

The music played, she didn’t care if it was from inside or outside her body. Her body moved to it. Side step, side step, spin, skip, skip, rear and kick, she threw her head back sending her mane cascading back. Coming back to earth, her feet took her in intricate circles around the doe. A sultry dark gaze towards the doe, inviting her in to the passion and whirlwind. Mirror images as they moved, a timeless dance. A tale of light and dark, of storms, of healing. They would trot side by side before parting, from opposite sides they raced towards each other, rearing at each other and hop backwards, spinning around before rejoining each other.

The doe paused and Tempest danced frenzied circles about her again. She pulled back and then reapproached the doe, her breath coming quickly from her dance. The doe moved off after a coy glance. That same “come and get me” look. Tempest pursued her, a playful chase, the raced in an looping pattern. Tempest caught up to her and they broke apart, becoming mirroring images as they trotted, then cantered, looping back towards each other and then breaking apart once more. Coming back to the center they once more reared and kicked out. Tempest putting her own spin on it, her head thrown back in joy.

They faced one another and moved their bodied in a circle, delicate foot work keeping them in tandem with each other. Suddenly they paused and spun their own individual circle, returning to face each other and then going the opposite of their last circle. Face to face once more they stamped a hoof, they backed up and trotted forward, repeating this several times before splitting off and making two large mirror loops back to each other. Then flipping their circles again. Pausing, Tempest watched as the doe stopped, she was eyeing her to see what Tempest would do next. Tempest was thoroughly impressed with how well the doe kept up with her dance.

Tempest suddenly tossed her head, slightly rearing and slamming her hoof down. She pawed the ground and gave off a shrill whinny. Play fight. She raced at the doe, who beautifully pivoted out of the way. Tempest spun about and raced back towards her, the doe reared and Tempest playfully bucked, tossing a back leg. Together, they skillfully choreographed a play battle. Each one playing off the other, minds connected in a battle of skill. Manes tossed, tails whipping, legs kicked out. Each one taking turns pushing and backing, conceding to each other, testing the other.

And then as if the battle was forgotten, they’d come together once more. Mirroring each other, they moved together as one. Light and dark, neither not existing without the other. They trotted abreast for a moment before breaking out into a full canter, never leaving each others side. Tempest tossing her head from elation, she let off a happy kick. Tails curled around each other as they returned to a trot, nose to nose, shoulder to shoulder. A story as old as the world their delicate hooves trod. They jumped, kicking out their back feet, mirrors of each other, two parts to one whole.

Magic was here.

With a big sign Dryxel shook his head at his luck so far. He was just not having any luck at all with this. He had no game and it was starting to look sad and desperate. He was starting to wonder if he even had it in him to woo a doe. "Ha Tempest liked you. She even had your foals so you must have some game dude." His muse scolded him will giving him the stink eye. This was true but this doe was totally different and proving to be much more difficult in wooing. Or maybe was just old and lost his game after being with Tempest. Either way he was sucking it up big time.

"What the heck am I going to do?" he huffed as he watched two more noul that where able to catch her attention. He just really had no idea what would work for this doe. Sitting down in the middle of the clearing he took five or six deep breaths in and out. "What am I getting all worked up over this." He scolded himself and his muse nodded in agreement. He needed to calm down and think of something that would be to this does liking. His frustration was clouding his mind and making it much harder to come up with something cleaver. Not to mention that it totally was not like him at all.

Hearing the doe say they were going to be going through a maze, Dryxel got a little excited by the idea. He was a scout and knowing direction and finding his way was his duty. An idea springs to mind as he sits and watches yet another noul grab her attention but he is not sure if her can pull it off. He would have to beat her through the maze though.

Taking off at a dead run he zoomed past the rest finding his way with ease, almost like he had been through this maze before but he had not. Zigging this way and that he stopped at the end of the maze heaving breaths in and out. He did not have much time for that though. He had to find just the right thing to execute his plan. But he need a few minutes which she did not really have.

"Yes that is just it." He said as he find what hie is looking for. Digging around a sad withered plant he carefully pushed a sheet of bark under it and then picked it all up together. Taking it back the excite of the maze he. Then he dug a hole and planted the sad looking plant in the ground. "Perfect." he said as he looked at the sad plant hand how he placed it dead center to the excite. Now when the doe ran out of the maze she would see him using his gift and then she would see an beautiful and amazing tricyrtis hirta bloom before her.

He heard her giggle and knew now was the time. Stilling his mind and closed his eyes, he took a couple of deep breaths in and out. Just as she came out of the maze, his gift left his body in a beautiful spring green mist and descended down to the flower before him. The once sad looking flower came to life and was filled with the most vibrant marron spots on a white back drop. It was one of Dryxel's favorite flowers ever. "Man I hope she likes it." He thought as he opened his eyes and looked to see her face.

Arabryn couldn't help but grin as the lovely doe threw out a challenge to him. "Finally she acknowledges me, now for the game to truly begin he thought to himself.

He tilted his head to the side as he studied her, she seemed playful almost with a foal like quality to her. It seemed that she enjoyed the small things and it made her happy so with that his mind began to race with what to do to impress her.

He knew she wanted to dance but how? He had 4 left hooves so to speak so that was truly out of the question but maybe something with his gift? He had to debate on how to use it. His gift was one of botany more specific verdant which caused a wilted plant to flourish and grow healthy.

As he looked around he noticed a small area off to the side of the maze, some of the plants and flowers were wilted. He got an idea of making them grow as if they were dancing he needed to move quickly so each one moved in succession to the other.

He trotted past her to make sure she saw him and he began to sway as if to the beat of music. He closed his eyes and slowly lowered his horn to the closest plant and then released the energy he felt building. Soon as his horn touched the plant he moved on to the next and the next and the next until he was at the end of the line. He turned to look at his work and noticed the plants all looked like they were swaying in the breeze as if dancing.

He was tired from using his gift in such quick succession, but he felt as though he had impressed her on some level. His gift was not one of the highest praise, but he loved it and in all honesty, was the first time he had ever used it. He had wondered how to even begin to use what he was bestowed with but he never really thought it out.

He was happy with his plan, his hope was to highly impress her and make him stand out among all the other suitors. He knew his chances were not that great for some of the others seemed very confident, others had the intelligence, others stamina after that long run in the maze. He had to think on his hooves which to him was not something he liked to do. He relied on his charisma which to be honest was not that great, he usually failed in getting the attentions of the females. But this female piqued his interest more than any before him and he felt he had to do everything he possibly could to woo her.

Tsarine grumbled as he scrambled to get out of the maze. This doe was crafty indeed but, he also knew she couldn't stay within this strange turn of decisions either. Once his hooves had felt the exit the golden brown buck grew more confident about himself. It seemed she opted for a dance off this time which he greatly enjoyed in their first meeting. Tossing his head he pranced out of the maze as if it never was a hindrance to begin with. Head held high he sought her out in his own challenge with a flashy display of tail sway. He wasn't much interested in wooing her than showing he was adept when it came to dancing. Each hoof as it settled on the ground in sync with the other that followed. Head swaying he was like a flower moving with a breeze. Knowing he'd caught her attention he waited for this mystery doe to follow his moves.

As she followed he once again swayed his tail leaving an air of grace setting around him. Hooves choreographed along with his movements he sought to draw out her own perfection. Tsarine had never realized he had an interest in dance before. He figured it was probably the doe bringing out that hidden quality in him.

Moving into a circle his head swaying he moved knowing she'd follow.

Stepping forward then back he preformed a waltz with little to no errors keeping him one step before hers. If her desire was being lead in a dance she'd surely appreciate his movements fluid and tamed. Forgetting the others around him he let his rhythm flow through his trained steps simply doing something he truly enjoyed.

Once she was following him he smiled himself, "Your turn..."

Cattleya had no interest in racing, or navigating through mazes, and thus she took her time as she navigated each of those obstacles. The best way to shine was to show off her strengths, and forget about everything else, after all. She'd come here to dance.

It was admirable, though, that some noul had taken the time to construct the maze. That, she thought, could be in her own future. She'd told her sister that she wanted to be a Lifebringer, but really she wasn't sure. It was a prestigious job. Bringing back other species was a central part of a noulicorn's purpose - at least in Cat's opinion. But it seemed like she did much better when she was in charge of somebody. She liked seeing how well other people were doing, and making those decisions.

But she could think about all of that later. It looked like the flower-bedecked doe had challenged everyone present to show off their best moves...or, well, Cattleya was fairly certain that was what everyone here was doing. Some nouls were clearly more successful at it than others. She shook her mane in laughter, and found a part of the clearing with sturdy, dry ground and plenty of space to begin her own appeal. Cattleya was actually a skilled dancer; it was exactly the sort of useless hobby she thrilled in. As she moved through her paces, her speed picked up subtly, and she knew just how to shake her tail to get it to curl just so.

There were perks to being a high-society girl - what could she say? She'd learned this routine at so many parties growing up, and though it was probably familiar to most of the nouls here, that was actually a good thing, when it came to social dance. In a social setting, no one noul could be the star - it'd be horribly inconsiderate. Cattleya was thrilled enough, and skilled enough, to share the spotlight, though, letting her careful steps enhance where her partner might feel uncertain. Her sweet, musical laughter rang out whenever someone did misstep, and she shimmied into a light, improvised flourish to draw the attention back with a wink. Dance was Cattleya's domain, and everyone here would know it.

She yielded the stage with grace when she was done, too, parking herself daintily next to an adept. "I'd been looking forward to that," she confessed, eyes twinkling.

The doe looked particularly charmed by everyone as they stepped up beside her to dance. With every step and every flourish, she moved with more and more confidence and grace.

"Oooh," she sighed happily as the dances came to an end. "You all really know how to lead a pleasant step."

The doe took a deep breath, as if feeling reinvigorated, and when she opened her eyes, she looked both calm and focused. "But just for fairness' sake. I'd love to know how well-rounded you all are. Care to join me for a quick sprint race? Just here to there, straight line, I promise."

The dance had been most splendid and Tempest was pleased to dance with a partner who could keep up with her. It seemed at every turn this doe put the lot of them through their paces and while she did understand having your potential partner prove themselves, Tempest also wanted her partners to prove themselves to her. She was a noul full of passion, energy and drive. While she was fast, Tempest was a long distance runner and she about laughed when the doe suggested a sprint.

She watched as everyone lined up and prepared themselves for this short dash to a spot not far off. A straight line as she said. Tempest sighed, it was a might underwhelming for her. If anyone could be coy and cheeky, she could throw it down too. As everyone took off, Tempest trotted, with head held high. It was a fast trot, she was actually holding herself back because Tempest tended to run everything if she could but alas she was being a cheeky brat at the moment. The last little bit she ran a slow canter, eating up the few feet left and reaching the end behind the others. She tossed her head and gave the doe a sassy look.

“Sorry, I must be a long distance running. Sprints are a bit bland for my tastes.”

Indira was feeling rather confident after the dance. Perhaps this really all was just in good fun. A little frolicking never killed anybody. At least for one night. Spirits high, she caught her breath for a moment. Surely another challenge was about to begin. She watched the pretty doe take a breath, and then clearly prepare for the next test.

A race! As though all along they hadn't been racing. Indira wasn't sure that the doe would't try something tricking during the dash, but that was her prerogative. She ran off, and Indira burst into motion. The small head start the doe had would be something Indira would need to over come. Indira wasn't exactly the tallest Noulicorn, so her stride length wasn't compensating for much. She pulled deep breaths through her nose, and out through her mouth, pushing herself as hard as she could. If anything, this race a good bit of conditioning for what really mattered. Finding things to heal in the Barrens. She turned her mind back to the doe, and was surprised to see that she was neck and neck with her! Their strides were matching exactly. Indira didn't try to pull ahead. Perhaps and equal was more impressive than a better?

It did seem that the dancing wasn't Oleander's forte, really he fumbled more then everyone else. Darn his hooves, and their not wanting to be as fluid as he had wanted them to be. Now that each of them had taken their turn with the doe. It seemed that she wanted to do a small sprint. To a certain point and back to where they were, huh? That sure sounded like something that he could do. He had been known, to himself, to be quite speedy when he put his mind to it. While he was surely far behind everyone else in the running to lure the doe away. Kinda 'sweep' her off her hooves sorta speak.

Shaking his head, Oleander took up the line with the rest of the others. When the Doe took off at a dead sprint, Oleander lurched off the line and dashed forwards. Tail whipping behind him as he went, he was indeed quick on his hooves. Pulling a head of the doe whom lead the games, he made the turn and was already on his way back. Wind whipped his mane around as he went, ears flicking back to listen to those who thundered behind him. Sometimes it was never a good thing to be out a head, but this chance he didn't really care. He was in the lead and he was looking to keep it that way to reach the end with whomever else managed to pull a head of the rest.
