“JESUS WHY ARE YOU SO COLD?!” Izzy hissed between his teeth, pulling Toby even closer to him and rubbing his hands all over his back.

It was cold and uncomfortable and he honestly hated it, but for Toby, he would endure!

“How is this even possible?! You were gone for like, two minutes?! I can’t give you your surprise until you warm up!” His hands traveled up and down every part of Toby’s backside he could reach, hands slipping under his shirt to press their warmth right up against the bare skin. Skin to skin was the fastest way to get warm, after all.

“That’s why I told you to hurry up and get into bed! That point two seconds that it took you to get in was what ruined it for you. But you warm up fast, like a sidewalk in summer.” Even he could tell they were both warmed up, and it was quickly moving from pleasant to over heated, so he had to get this over with fast.

... No, that was a bad way to think about it. He wanted to do this, so he needed to do it, enjoy it, and then cool off again.

“Alright, you ready for your surprise?”

“Pfft, of course not. You’ve had that before, so it’s not exactly a surprise, is it? Nah, it’s something even better than that.” Maybe it was just how close they were now, or the way the whole context of everything changed a few hours ago, but a wave of embarrassment came over Izzy. His face was warm, hot even, and he was thankful for the darkness, which helped hide it all.

With Toby’s grip on him loosened, he pulled away a bit, only to gently push Toby back onto the bed and shift just enough so that he loomed over top of him.

“Alright then, here goes nothing!” Of course he fumbled a bit in the dark. Hardly any light filtered in from the window above the bed, but by now, he knew Toby’s face. He tracked along his neck, feeling about until he finally managed to touch the other boy’s lips with pad of his thumb.

And before Toby could ask, he leaned down, giving him the best kiss he could. Which honestly wasn’t all that good, given the fact that it was his first, but heck did he try!

How long were kisses supposed to last? Was he supposed to hold his breath? Where were his hands supposed to go if they weren’t keeping him from squishing the boy under him?

Why was kissing so WEIRD?!

Buuuut it wasn’t bad. He liked it, and from what he could tell, Toby liked it too. Eventually, though, he pulled away, taking a deep breath since for a good long moment, he had not breathed in once.

“So, uh... Happy late Christmas, Toby... I uh... I promise I won’t be so dense next time. Though you can’t ask for a kiss again, okay? I uh.... They aren’t going to be so rare from now on, got it?”

“Hey, man, I’m doing my best! And you know, you don’t have to ask, you can just take the kisses if you want.” As he said that, a kiss somehow met his luckily closed eye lid.

“Never mind, your aim stinks!” Izzy snorted, and then wen back to where he was laying before, against the wall with Toby right at his side.

“Now go to sleep, okay? No more kisses, or else I’m not gonna get any rest tonight! And unlike some people, I gotta work tomorrow. Buuuut maybe if I use you as an excuse, I don’t have to go... Decisions, decisions...” Either way, he was content himself, and his hand rather quickly found Toby’s, lacing their fingers together. He couldn’t sleep comfortably cuddling too close, not just yet, but this was juuuust fine.”

“Practice later, sleep now.” Izzy had the miraculous ability to get sleepy as soon as he settled down. Even with his own heart racing, he could feel the tiredness quickly taking over him.

“Hmm... Good night, Toby... And don’t forget... I like you. I like you a whole lot, so be sure to remember in the morning...”
