Acubens grinned at Melpomene as he offered his magical ability with the group. He didn't have to... didn't really want to, she could tell, but he did. She patted his arm affectionately and cast her earth-green gaze about the room. With everyone who was going to show up now congregated, Acubens lifted her voice above the din. "Alright squad! The name of the game is crystals! It doesn't even matter what kind! The point is that the central island in Mirrorscape can be terraformed, so let's do just that! If we wanna make this place a home, we have to make it look like one, right? Buddy up, stay with the group, and if you get lost don't panic. All mirrors lead outside, you can either exit or try and find us with your compacts." And with that, she extended an arm towards the door, inviting those who had gathered to begin their search. Quote: Acubens leads the group with the practiced ease of an eternal, happily chatting away with those around her. It is clear from her demeanor and candor that the crystals really are just secondary. The real goal is socialization and bonding. However, the deeper they go, the more apparent it seems that someone is watching them. Not necessarily malevolent or ill-intending but looming none the less. Older senshi with more familiarity about the place notice it first, but it trickles down the ranks quickly. Players will have 48 hours to respond to this prompt before the next one is posted!

As the group started out into Mirrorspace, Acubens returned Tantalus' wave. Seeing he was hanging back with a few stragglers who had since been picked up by others, she beckoned him over with a crooked finger. After all, the last time they truly spoke they had been under the sway of madness and that could hardly be called a true meeting. "You know," Acubens purred, hooking her arm through Melpomene's as they walked, "I think you and Logos would get along beautifully. I think you'd also do well with Lesath. They're both very low key and not at all like me in disposition." She grinned at her companion then, tossing him a slight wink as she did so. "Not that I don't adore having you around, mind you. I'm always flattered and humbled when you choose me over everyone else. It makes a girl feel like a princess, really. But you should try and form alliances outside of me. Maybe even... I dunno... make a new friend?"

While Logos preferred and was more comfortable with titles and ranks, she also understood that it was important that her companion also be comfortable. So Logos swallowed her pride and parrotted the two names she was given, again committing them to memory. When Lesath approached her, however, Logos snapped back to attention. "Thank you, Miss Lesath," she responded, "I am very well. I'm hoping you have been well also." With two kids, however, there was only so well she could be. Logos could only imagine how stressful life was for her. Though mothers constantly stressed how wonderful motherhood was, Logos could not see past all of the obstacles children placed down before them. "I missed you as well. I'm sorry for not powering up more often. Or even... coming around as myself. "Miss Lesath, this is Boon-Nam, powered into Itokawa. Senshi of Fairy Rings. Boon-Nam, this is Lesath, my mentor."

Watching as Logos started to converse with someone else, and feeling like he was being let go for now, he was about to wander off and trail behind the group. However, he was halted in his actions when he heard himself being introduced.
Adjusting his glasses he nodded his head slowly towards the blond whom he was being introduced to. "I don't power up much so Boon-nam or new is best to call me by." More likely for him to answer to. He wasn't used to the other name, Itokawa, it wasn't familiar with him. He wasn't like some, maybe even most, of those here who seemed more active and to know each other. Enough of them had wings and had a strong signature that he could feel...something he doubted he'd ever manage to achieve.
"It is nice to meet you Lesath."

Turning his blue eyes onto Acubens the senshi of bleeding hearts shook his head slowly. "Why do you think me and Logos would get on well?" Seeing as he wasn't much for other people, he didn't want to become close to people, he didn't know why Acubens thought he'd get on well with anyone much less two people.
"Why are you humbled by me? You have gained the respect of all these people." That should humble a person...not his attention and only his. He wasn't worth that much, not enough to humble someone.
"I don't need to form alliances, I'm fine on my own - I always have been." He'd lived on his own, sort of, since forever. He was capable of continuing that now, even if he was a senshi and involve din some sort of magical chaos. "Friends...I don't have any aside from you and that's fine. Making more hurts." The last part was a whisper. Because making friends, and then losing them, hurt. He was sure of it. It hurt to lose people you cared about...even if you can't remember them.

Mithra walked with the rest of the group, mostly watching the area around them and not paying much attention to the talking. She knew quite a few people here, and she was glad for all of those that had introduced themselves and stated what their powers did, but she still wasn't much of a conversationalist. At least when it came to barging into other groups of people who were already talking. She did manage to nudge Remarque when he showed up, acknowledging his presence. Instead she decided to sidle up to Kiuchi and say to him, "As much as I like this sort of meeting, I still think we need to talk to them about different kinds and perhaps making it more often." She said before she felt... something. She wasn't sure what it was, but it made her shiver. Like something was out there and she just didn't know it yet. It wasn't a malicious or scared shiver, just the type that the body sometimes makes one feel because they know something is weird about the situation. She decided to ignore it though. Whatever it was, even if it was malicious, they were in a large group. They could handle whatever was thrown at them. Sleet Tempest Snape she's feeling awkward in the group

Looking down at Mithra he nodded his head slowly at her words. "I agree...we need to gather more often - socially. Not just for this, though this is a good reason to band together." To help with building their home up and making it something bright and enjoyable.
For a moment he stilled, stopping Fulu from moving in the process. Something felt off....like a presence that you just saw from the corner of your eyes and felt there. But nothing was there but them - all of them. It wasn't anyone here though, at least no one that he could see. "Mithra?" He questioned, raising a brow and hoping she felt like he did.
"Does it feel like mirrorspace is about to turn on us?" He asked in a whisper, not wanting anyone around them to panic, especially not if he was the only one feeling it. His hold on Fulu tightened as he swore mentally to keep the other safe, he didn't trust what he was feeling. "Or someone is here....but not here?" He asked while dark eyes darted about, as if he might see whatever was out there watching them.

She too raised an eyebrow but also smirked at Kiuchi. "Well, it appears I'm not the only one feeling something is going on around here. What it is though, I have no idea." She replied at the same volume level. She didn't want anyone to start making more noise. Or at least causing whatever it was that she was pretty sure was following them to attack. Getting serious she said, "I can't trust mirrorspace at this point. Not until it fully accepts us. But I wouldn't be surprised if there's still a lot out there that we don't know about." Maybe they could beat it out of the reality? She really felt like punching something at this point, and she had nothing to take her energy out on. Though if something did appear in front of them, she hoped it wouldn't attack. But she would totally be willing to punch it if it did. "I'd be ready for anything though, just in case."

Arnica was reasonably surprised to see how popular his sister was, but there was a part of him that was happy to see people that cared about her. He had worried for his sister, and often, but to know that there were others in the Court that maybe weren't so bad gave him enough optimism that he figured he could probably handle getting to meet some of them.
Even if this number of them was a little overwhelming.
Still, he offered a polite smile at every new face that approached his sister. He was an investigator by nature, and not knowing who was worth trusting by face alone, he was reluctant to speak loudly or haphazardly.
Remarque was keeping an eye on everyone; he offered a wave to Tantalus in return. Despite his domineering personality and his power signature, he didn't make much of an effort to interject into the rest of the conversation. He acknowledged when spoken to, either with a little nod or a slight wave. To Mithra, he'd had half a mind to nudge her back but she was already off before he could return the harassment. It was for the best; even he didn't want Acubens nagging about him causing trouble.
Mostly, he watched, he listened. He learned.

Melpomene had grown so much, and at the same time, he'd stayed his same old self. Acubens sighed, pressing the pads of her fingers together in front of her hips as she considered her next words carefully. She knew he would take nothing she said in offense, because she truly meant none. "Melpomene... if you never know who you can trust... you'll only end up lonely. And that hurts and an awful lot too. What if... what if something happens to me? And I'm taken out of commission by injury or worse? Who will you rely on then? Even if you are extremely capable, as you are now... you can't be a lone wolf in this war, my love." She reached up and gently caressed his jawline with the backs of her fingers. A ghost of a touch. Nothing more. But there was palpable reverence and adoration in equal measure in that touch. "That's what all this," she swept an arm out, "is all about. Me, you. The rest of the court. This place. This is us, Mel. And you can't spell Court without Our so..." She made a face as though her last statement had been the lynchpin in her argument, and a moment later laughed in her way with her head tossed back and her eyes shut. "Look, I'm not asking you to be bosom buddies with someone. All I am asking is that you try and learn to trust other people. I mean... Lavender and I have been living together for about a year now... and I'm really smitten with her. If I... hypothetically... want to start a family... I mean I'm out of commission for the better part of a year. More when you factor in infant care. What will you do then? I need to know, before I make any choices, that you're taken care of when I'm gone." Kiuchi eventually broke her focus. She registered nothing else anyone said up to that point, but for some reason, his mention about being watched struck her and sharpened her senses. She did feel it, and she slowed her gait because of it. "Oh for ******** sake... I just want one normal meeting. Is that so much to ask?"

What was once a watchful eye has grown increasingly angry as the group of intruders delves deeper and deeper into what it percieves as its domain. The feeling of being watched grows to a feeling of being followed. What can only be described as a "clicking growl" can be heard at times. One or two senshi may even have seen a shadow. Even the newest and greenest of the Court should be able to feel that something is not right. What sort of trick is mirrorspace trying to play with them? Still, they press on and on until Acubens pushes open a door and leads the group somewhere new. Where there used to be endless hallways and doors, they now spill out into a large greenhouse. Panes of glass that should be clear are frosted milky white like the rest of Mirrorspace, making the view outside impossible to see. The room itself is about the size of a school's gymnasium and soars just as high. You may crane your neck to see the ceiling, and find that it is only barely perceptible, as the humidity of the room has created a foggy haze in the rafters. The greenhouse itself has all of the usual accouterment one might expect to find, with of course the same fun twists Mirrorspace always provides: cabinets with gardening tools, boxes and sacks of strange mixtures with incomprehensible text, raised beds with chalky white soil strangely reminiscent of the dust found on the Realms. Another strange twist is this: not one of the raised beds has anything growing in them. You may rake your fingers through the dust to try and find roots or seeds, but you will find nothing. The only thing growing is a strange lily in the center bed. It looks like any lily one might find on earth, except for the color. The petals are a gentle blue color and the center of the flower is nearly black. Upon inspection, however, someone might notice that the black center is slowly growing. And the more people that notice this, the faster it begins to turn. When it is, at last, completely black, an ear-splitting screech, like the sound of metal on concrete, cuts through the air. The soil in the center bed begins to quake and suddenly vines shoot out, coiling and twisting into a vaguely humanoid shape around the lily. The newly created... or rather the newly awakened monster lets out yet another shriek and swings it's arms, catching the nearest senshi and flinging them across the room. Quote: Whatever the Court has awakened, it's not happy about their presence. It's also looking like if they want to get out, they'll need to fight. MONSTER HP: 100 - 3 (97) Remarque HP: 28/30
There were an amazing number of expletives Remarque could have uttered when the creature first appeared but there were even more he could have utilized when it <******** hit him.
Him!
Minding his own business, and it through him across the room.
Not Acubens, who started all of this, who had led them here. Who probably ran around the halls of Mirrorspace screaming for something to jump out at her. Who probably thought it would be fun to have a giant monster popping out at her.
No, it attacked him.
Remarque was more offended than he was hurt, but he was still angry. Before he had even stood upright, the voice in the back of his mind was reminding him that it was probably better that he was targeted instead of any of those less equipped to handle it.
It didn't mean he liked getting thrown across the room, though.
He cast a quick glance at his wife to make sure she was fine--habit--and to make sure none of the other Dark Mirror Senshi had been on the receiving end of any damage, but he was already casting his magic before he'd even righted himself.
Strings descended on the beast, and though Remarque was not particularly a fan of his magic, or any magic, it was good when there was a hell of a lot of distance between him and his target and he needed to buy time to cross the distance between them. His basic magic was far from his strongest, but he wasn't going to waste energy on magic he didn't care for; the strings gathered at the beast's limbs, tugging and pinching and squeezing. He knew how they could affect a person, but something like that?
He doubted it would be as effective.

Monster's HP: 97 - 2 = 95 Fulu'a HP: 15/15
Even Fulu could feel it, but he wasn't exactly very familiar with Mirrorspace. He had been throw it a couple of times with either Kiuchi or Crocus, but it wasn't typically a place he stuck around in for a large amount of time. Maybe the space always felt like someone was watching them?
"Did you just say turn on us? It can do that?" Obviously, he had a lot to learn about Mirrorspace. Kiuchi tightened his grip on his hand and suddenly everyone was on alert. They pushed throw a door and into what appeared to be a greenhouse. They weren't inside for long before the vine-like creature appeared before them.
Well, even if Kiuchi hadn't answered his question before, the appearance of a flower-monster certainly did. This was definitely not what he thought would be happening tonight.
His magic couldn't hurt the thing, but while Mirrorspace had thrown a monster at them, it also provided sharp gardening tools that made good enough projectiles he supposed.

Monster's HP: 95 - 1 = 94 Acubens HP: 25/25Acubens had become increasingly more agitated as they went deeper into Mirrorspace. Several times she wondered about going back but second-guessed herself. This might have just been Mirrorspace up to its usual tricks again, right? She had frequently felt uneasy or prickly when walking through the ghostly halls of the place, even as an experienced eternal. And then the monster attacked. She watched Remarque soaring across the room and cursed loudly. He was going to find a way to blame this on her, she just knew it. And, if she was being candid with herself, it probably was her fault. She should have turned back around. She should have called gone a different way when she picked up on the feeling at the very least, but certainly once it started getting volatile. No time for "should haves" she chided herself. Bracing herself next to Melpomene, Acubens called her attack, but halted herself. There were too many people around, and the space was too enclosed. Not a good idea to use her magic. So instead she reached for the first thing she could... a spade. She lobbed it and it bounced off harmlessly and she cursed again. "Mel, baby, looks like we've got work to do."
