Toshi looked up at Aya and gave a small smile. "I do need to finish cleaning up this mess." he said slowly. "But after that, I would be very grateful for your assistance." He didn't know that he would find this situation QUEER, persay... okay, maybe a bit.
There was a light blush on the gehaka's cheeks as he rose and moved across the small kitchen for some more towels. Moving back, he bent down, wiping up the floor quickly and efficiently, even using his nondominant hand.

Violet orbs busied themselves looking over the medical supplies that he had retrieved earlier as their owner began to reflect a little over all that had happened while waiting for Toshi to be done with his chores.
All these new feelings that he had never felt before. He had never been one to be really good at talking about his feelings, but there was one thing that he knew for certain at least and that was that they made him feel kinda warm and tingly inside.
Taking hold of the roll of bandage in his hand, the red-haired Haka unrolled part of it as he wondered how he should go about helping Toshi dress his wounds later. Perhaps he should consult the Gehaka before he did anything though. It would be bad if he wasted some of these things in the process.
Somehow it didn't bother Aya as much that Toshi knew about his ignorance. Strange, wasn't it?

Toshi let out a sift sigh and finally moved back up to his feet, pulling back his long bright yellow hair and twisting it quickly into a bun at the nape of his neck, throwing the tea-soaked rag into the sink, before rinsing it out and spreading it out to dry. He used a wet rag to wipe up the floor again, going over it with a clean towel and mopping up the water so that Aya wouldn't trip. Or himself, of course. Finally he stood, wiping the light sheen of sweat from his brow and washing his hands. He found his gaze drawn back to the delicate Haka standing in the kitchen and staring at bandages. Not at all like most of the haka he'd met, and he liked it. He seemed to see him as a person, not a bookshelf, or a luggage rack. It was... refreshing, to meet a haka who he wanted to have talk to him, and who he found himself wanting to please. The only other haka he'd go out of his way to please was his mother, but Aya had earned his respect with just a few simple words, and a lack of lustful eyes. Not that Toshi expected lustful eyes, but he'd gotten a couple- mostly from his mother's haka friends. A few of whom were having accounting problems, and would love even his meager dowry. Again, that wasn't the point. He dried his hands and turned to Aya with a gentle smile. "So, want a cup of tea? I've got to get a new pot on anyways."

Turning his attention from the roll of bandage in his hands to Toshi, Aya smiled softly at the tanned Gehaka before nodding just once to indicate his accession to his proposal.
He still had yet to have any luck with figuring out how to use the object that he was holding and he thought that he might as well ask Toshi once the winged male was done with his chores. Which should be anytime soon unless the Gehaka had something else that needed his attention.
"... if you don't mind, can you show me how to use these... things?"
The red-haired Haka asked gently, a slight blush beginning to colour his cheeks at the same instant. Aya asking for someone's assistance? As his Gehaka brother Itsuki might have aptly put it, the sun must have risen from the west today. It was something that simply didn't happen. Not that Toshi needed to know that of course.

Toshi put on a new post of tea quickly, waving the hot pad around like a banner. He wouldn't get burned THIS time. HA! He heated the water, making the tea quickly, before turning his attention back to the redheaded haka. Ah, the bandages. Toshi nodded, and took the small roll of cotton-like material. "May I borrow your arm?" he asked quietly. It would be quite hard for him to demonstrate on himself. While he waited for the answer, he found a banboo clip, that would be used to tie the bandage down, keeping it neat.

Totally caught unprepared by Toshi's request, Aya blinked a few times as he stared wide-eyed at the Gehaka as though the latter had suddenly grown another head or something.
His arm?
It was only a few seconds later when the young Haka realized belatedly the reason behind the request and that caused him to blush a deeper shade of red at his own ignorance. Whatever had he been thinking back there? Was he expecting Toshi to demonstrate on his own arm instead?
With a curt nod, Aya raised his right arm, stretching it out towards Toshi as he hastily slapped on a light smile on his face in an attempt to cover up his embarassing reaction earlier. He sure hoped that the Gehaka hadn't noticed it at all. Not too possible, but Aya could always hope ya?

Toshi stared back at him. Wha....? Had he grown another head? When the haka raised his arm with a blush, Toshi smiled, but ignored the earlier reaction. "It goes wrapped around like this." he explained, and wrapped up the haka's arm lightly. "For a burn like this, no more than two wraps around, it needs to be able to breathe." he said, and smiled at Aya.

No more than 2 wraps around. Needs to be able to breathe. With a few slow nods of his head, Aya lapped up the information that he was being taught by Toshi hungrily, filing the facts away in his mind so that he could refer back to it later on.
The chances of him utilising such information was probably next to zero after today's incident, but the Fujimiya clan Haka figured that there was probably no harm learning more about such things anyway. Never knew when one might need it afterall.

Toshi let the bandage go, and held the roll out to the haka. He smiled warmly, sitting down in a chair and holding his arm out to Aya. "Toshi?" "Mother." Toshi's attention was dragged from Aya and he smiled at his mother. "You're home early." he said softly, and stood up to go get the haka a cup of tea. "Oh, sit down, you." the haka chided, and noticed Toshi's hand. "What on earth happened?!" he asked, and noticed Aya. "And who is your companion?" his eyes widened as he took note of Aya's fancy outfit. "I grabbed hold of the teapot without a glove." Toshi said miserably. His mother patted him.

Aya had taken hold of the roll of bandage that Toshi had handed him, his inner voice reciting the Gehaka's instructions incessantly like a broken record for good measure just so that he wouldn't forget and mess up anything in the process. He nearly dropped the bandage when he heard another voice resound within the small kitchen, his hand hastily replacing said object on the shelf as though he was a child who had been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
The young Haka listened to the brief exchange between Toshi and his mother with mild interest next, taking this opportunity to compose himself and adopt as neutral an expression on his face as possible before turning to bow slightly in greeting to the older Haka.
"My name's Aya. Fujimiya Aya. Pleased to make your acquaintance Yakume-san..."

"Mm." the haka nodded politely. "The pleasure is mine, Fujimiya-san. I am Yakume Rei. I hope my son hasn't been an irritant to you." Rei glanced over at his son curiously, but Toshi just had his ears laying back in embarassment. Rei smiled and rubbed Toshi's ears affectionately. "Your fathers are outside. One of them will bandage your hand for you. I will escort Fujimiya-san back to the main part of the shop."
Toshi nodded, and gave Aya a small smile. "Thank you, Fujimiya-sama." he whispered, and grabbed the roll of bandages, hurrying out to his fathers.
Rei smiled lightly. "Fujimiya-san, it's an honor to have you come to our humble shop. Was there anything I could help you with?" he asked, ushering Aya the other way, out to the main area of the shop.

Knowing that Toshi's injury was going to be properly looked after from his mother's words, Aya allowed a small smile to cross his face before dipping his head in the Gehaka's direction in a silent acknowledgement of his words.
Allowing himself to be ushered back to the main area of the shop by Rei, Aya found himself pondering over the Haka's question. There was absolutely no way that he was going to tell Rei the true purpose behind his current visit to the bookshop.
It wasn't so much that he was trying to hide something from the other Haka though. It was simply... less troublesome to offer another explanation instead. He didn't want to do anything silly until he was at least sure of the kind of feelings that he was getting whenever he was around Toshi. That apparantly was something that needed more time since the answer still eluded him for some reason at the moment.
"Oh no... the pleasure's all mine Yakume-san. I just thought that I'll browse through some of the fine collection that you have here on this fine day."

Rei smiled at the other haka and bowed. "I'm sorry about my son's clumsiness." he apologized, glancing over Aya's hemline to see if Toshi had gotten tea on the other's kimono. He was really more worried about his son's hand, but an angry haka could be a very bad thing, especially considering this one was on the town council.Maybe he should just let his friend marry Toshi. He didn't want his son to be one of a dozen, but Toshi's clumsy bouts were getting worse the more he mooned over romance. At least if he was married, Rei wouldn't have to worry so much about him.
Or maybe he'd have to worry more, Toshi always had been blessed with a bit of a rebellious streak that popped out at the worst times.
But really, Rei should have been paying attention to himself. In his ponderings, he tripped over a book that one reader had left in the walking area, and fell over.

If only Rei had known that Aya couldn't care more about his kimono as long as Toshi was safe and unharmed. If only.
But the Yakume clan Haka was not a mind reader and was therefore blissfully unaware, so there was absolutely no way for him to ease his fears other than to check for any tell-tale tea stains that might be on the red-haired Haka's kimono.
"Oh no... it's perfectly okie. Accidents happen so there's really nothing to be sorry about Yakume-san..."
Aya remarked softly, smiling lightly back to the other Haka as he continued to follow his lead through the bookshop. He was innately glad that Toshi was apparantly well looked after by his family. He might not have any personal encounters as yet, but he certainly had heard others speak of some Gehakas suffering terrible fates in silence from things such as abuse and ill treatment. It was sad but there was really nothing that one could do about it.
Still, the young Haka couldn't help but feel saddened some at the mere prospect of not being able to see Toshi again. He... he just wanted to talk to him some more and learn more about him in general.
Aya's train of thought was almost immediately interrupted at the soft thud sound that came from in front of him. Violet orbs refocused themselves on the sight that laid out before him before widening slightly in undisguised surprise.
"... are you alright..?"
Aya asked Rei tentatively as he stretched out a hand to help the fallen Haka up. It had been a close call. Just one more step or two and he might have fallen head over heels over the older Haka himself.

Rei smiled up at the other haka, a light flush on his cheeks. The area his son was supposed to be working in, he noted. Books carelessly scattered...
Toshi'd been reading instead of working again.
A delicate bead of sweat dripped down the older haka's face, but he gave a pleasant smile. "I'm quite alright, Fujimiya-san." he said, and lifted the book up off the floor, laying it gently on the shelf. "I thank you for your concern."
If the Yakume family's leader could read Aya's mind, he'd be throwing Toshi at him. Oh yes. He did love his son, but he also knew all of Toshi's faults. He was daydreamy, and a bit on the clumsy side. He had a sharp mind but a dull wit, and while earnest, would never be passionate about much that didn't involve intellect. Or romance. Toshi had always dreamed of marrying for love.
And while Rei couldn't promise love, he could promise that Toshi would never marry someone he couldn't at least look at... as a friend.
