Thorival Reseria

The Paladin stands there in awe at all the.... insolence and disrespect shown to all the Angels standing. Thorival grips his fist in rage and begins slightly shaking.

"Josef....Please behave and begin the confession.... Kisa asked you specifically. You should respect the higher authority, especially considering we can call Death at any time to purge the people who do not behave."

The Angel sighs and rubs his temples in an attempt to alleviate his headache that Josef is giving him.

"Death gave us his blessings along with the upper council to begin this, and we have taken precautions to make sure nothing bad happens to this place. You know this.... RIGHT? If you don't take this seriously.... Please leave...."

Josef

The next day, the Demonlord leaves his room with a large yawn and walks out to where the breakfast buffet is. At first he is all hyped up to see what's there until he notices it's nothing but fruits and vegetables.

"What the hell is this..."

He continues walking around, looking for some protein and he can only find some savory fruits like Avacados. After grabbing some of the savory veggies, he goes to a seat that's among others arranged in a circle formation, with a round table in the middle.

Josef then uses his fork to solemnly poke at the broccoli and cauliflower and just sighs.

"Kisa, is there anything that isn't weak soul food?"

"A-Aa..." Kisa blinked at Thorival, surprised he wasn't nervous at ALL to be so blunt to Josef. Hopefully fighting didn't ensue... "W-Well I wouldn't say I'm h-higher authority... or anything... I-I think we're all equals." She stated, standing a bit anxiously, pushing her thighs together.

The purple and turquoise haired angel listened to Josef's so called "confession" of what his sins were. That.... was kind of much. He really acted on THAT many sins all the time? That sounded EXHAUSTING. How did demons have the energy for that? Hopefully it was just because he was a demon lord. Surely the other two demons in the room didn't actually have that many vices, right?

"Th-Thank you Mister Verruckt. It sounds like you're very honest with what you need to work on, it's good to be open and truthful. B-but umn.. please... again... try to refrain from threatening other guests..." Kisa said softly, writing down some notes in a pretty little notebook she took out before he started confessing, and then looked to Wynter.

"What about you, Miss Wynter...? Would you be so kind as to confess what sins you need to work on?" She smiled warmly, wanting this to be a safe atmosphere to admit what these demons needed to work on, so they could decide the best approach to changing their behavior for the better.

Wynter

Wynter's mouth twitched at her name being said by Josef, and she bit her tongue to resist the urge to tell him off like before. If she wanted out of the hole, she had to put down the god damn shovel.

The girl seemed to cringe as she listened to his so called "confession of his sins". The way he spoke about them made her slightly nauseous, like they were some trophies to be passed around. It almost made her even more determined to rub it in his face later that he wouldn't be able to do s**t to her later once she completed this rehabilitation.

Her silver eyes looked to Kisa, changing from chaotic little storms, to a slightly calmer look. Her sins? Now that she thought about it, her sins were mostly just bad habits, instead of downright acts of evil.

Refusing to sit in a chair, she crossed her arms as she looked towards the floor, trying to figure out exactly how she was going to "admit her sins" or whatever.

"Wynter Weiss. Sloth, Wrath, Envy, and Gluttony are what I need to be "forgiven" for. I lost interest in humanity, and stopped doing my damn "responsibilities" or whatever, plus I hate doing things, so there's Sloth. I get pissed off easily and quite often, I ended one life while I was alive, which is easily described as Wrath. I Envy people with easy lives, and easy deaths. And I have a drinking issue, so there we have Gluttony."

Wynter gave a short release of the breath she was holding in, resuming to look around at the group gathered at the hotel. She hated how incredibly stupid this felt, but if this was the first step to leaving hell, she could bear with it.

Kisa listened intently, writing down a few notes as Wynter talked just like she did with Josef.

"Ooh, I see..." She nodded intently, seeming to be totally relieved that Wynter would be an easy fix. Until she mentioned the part about ending someone's life when she was a human. THAT is a horrible sin right there. She tried not to make a face, but her eyes did widen a tiny bit after she said that.

All of that sounds like mostly just bad habits... it sounded like a really easy redemption until she mentioned ending someone's life and being addicted to alcohol... But I suppose compared to Josef that's... better...?

However ending someone's life is a REALLY MAJOR sin. Uncle never explained to me how to approach any kind of murder rehab.... is that even possible..? Man-slaughter is accidental or self defense, though, maybe it was just that? I hope so...

Kisa nodded again, smiling a little. "Thank you for being honest!" It was really great that people were actually coming out and admitting it so easily. Kisa was a little worried that people would lie or try to hide their sins, or straight up refuse to admit them. This was a little easier than she had expected. Maybe that was really ringing clear that they really did want to change. And that made her happy. Changing is hard. So admitting faults and wanting to move forward was a MASSIVE step in the right direction. This was really nice! It was going to be really simple to cater each person's program to each individual. After all, no one had the cookie cutter same problems.

Josef was probably going to be way too much work, since he seemed to just be here for fun and didn't appear to have any remorse or interest in actually changing. But Wynter seemed like a much easier case. There was hope!

And what about you, Miss Zuni?" The angel turned to look at the lime green haired demon. "Care to confess your sins?"

"No." Zuni retorted, her arms still crossed and her big floofy tail swishing to-and-fro behind her like an irritated cat. "I'm only here because--" This piece of ******** s**t demon lord "Josef made me tag along to see the s**t show. I'm not here to participate. Just watch until he gets bored and we can ******** leave already."

Josef

"Well said Zuni! You know me to a T and that's why you are my oooohhhh so personal slave. If I had my way, the heavens would be my slaves! I would rule all of existence in this afterlife, elemental and material existences!"

The demon stands up and hugs Zuni from behind, and kisses the back of her head.

"Annnnnd the sins that was stated so far? BOOOOOOOOORING. Killing a man? Pffft try a body count of 30,000 in the span of a single battle! Try eradicating a whole city! Now THAT is sin. You can't even comprehend the amount of Souls I have consumed while being in this realm. That is like, DOUBLE KILLING. It's sooo..... DELIGHTFULL"

Josef lets go of zuni and just wraps his hands around himself and just shudders while twirling in a circle.

"THE TRUE MEANING OF EXISTENCE THE SNUFFING OUT OF IT, THAT'S ALL IT CULMINATES TOOOOOOOOO"

Overlord of the 7th hell then starts howling in laughter, the echoes of his sound waves reverberating across the walls and bouncing in every direction, magnifying his voice even further.

After about thirty seconds of the maniacal cackling, he then opens his eyes and with the pupils pin pointed onto Kisa's form, he cracks a huge grin.

"I have a BRILLIANT Idea, lets have a quiz. A sort of game show quiz. Who ever holds the most knowledge of the heavens gets a gold star! Or... a black shriveled heart. Have you thought about our good boy and girl treats for our good behavior?"

Small laughter escapes his lips as his neck jolts into a 90 degree angle position with the sound of bones snapping and a INHUMAN GRIN SPREADS ACROSS HIS FACE.

"I'm watching you~"

Zuni

Zuni's eye twitched a little, growing more and more irritated by the second. Her gut reaction was to literally ******** STAB him, but she knew better. As much as she HATED admitting it, Josef was far more powerful than her. Normally she could hold her own, but since he was.. y'know, a freakin' Demon Lord, pretty much no one could 1v1 him. Not even Zuni. So she was completely and utterly screwed, forced to be his little servant that had to follow him around and indulge his idiotic whims. Or face the consequences. She had fought him hard for a very long time, but eventually even she reached a breaking point where she learned it was simply far easier and less painful to just give him what he wants (within reason). Fighting him proved to be pointless. He always got what he wanted in the end.

So she resisted the urge to shank him, and instead her kitny ears snapped back with anger, her tail starting to swish around more dramatically. The feeling of him hugging her from behind and kissing the back of her head made her skin crawl. Stop touching me stop touching me HOLY ******** STOP TOUCHING ME. Zuni thought to herself, grinding her teeth a little.

Kisa looked bewildered. This... This guy was... crazy-! He really just blurted out if he had his way that he would enslave all of Heaven? That... That wasn't even possible. Who would want something that horrible?

Her eyes widened more and she gently covered her mouth in shock. 30,000 MURDERS-!? He... He was a MONSTER. Who would do that for fun-!? That's disgusting! There was no possible way he could be redeemable. He was exactly where he belonged. Kisa felt guilty for letting that thought pop into her head, and she tried to squander it. Technically every soul should be redeemable... but... but she had never encountered such evil... Maybe he was just making it up to get a reaction out of everyone? Maybe he was clinically insane and just said random shocking things? She prayed inside that that was the case. Because if that was really true, she wasn't sure she could handle this heavy of a soul... She had no idea what she was doing with a normal demon, let alone and extra evil one. Her Uncle Thalas might need to come down here and help with a soul of this caliber.

"U-Umn..." Kisa squeaked out, trying not to tremble a little with how nervous she was. He was quickly becoming quite terrifying. "W-Well... y-you see... there's not really much of a r-reward 'system' because the reward is getting a place in H-Heaven... s-so... I-I don't have gold stars, or anything... b-but I think the smaller rewards are the right to live here, w-we have everything someone could need that's not sinful... There's a room for each person, all necessities... tons of food... there's a gym, a swimming pool, an indoor garden, a-all sorts of amenities to enjoy... s-so there's plenty of motivation to want to stay h-here... i-in my opinion..." She fidgeted nervously, looking away uncomfortably.

"A-And I doubt that game would be very fair, since... us angels live up in Heaven, wouldn't we definitely beat a demon with the m-most knowledge of Heaven since demons haven't been there before...? M-Maybe we can play a different game..."

Prism

Josef's confession sent shivers racing down her spine. She knew before coming down here that she would have to brace herself for the reasons these demons were here, but he just had such bad ones... She looked to Kisa with slight panic, would they really be able to help him? It killed her to think that some demons would never be able to be redeemed, that went against everything they were standing for, but Josef just seemed.... content with his sins and being down here. He bragged about his sins like they were trophies, and he seemed to only want more.

After hearing Wynter speak, Prism didn't think she was THAT awful. It just seemed she needed work on her habits and attitude, but she did mention she ended someone's life, which made her ears flatten against her head. She did note she didn't say who or why, so was it something very personal?

The neko reminded herself that she could wonder about this all day, and most likely never get answers to her questions, at least she wouldn't if she never asked. Sadly, she could never manage to work up enough courage to do so. It was just too nerve-racking for her.

Prism let a small gasp escape her lips when Josef started his crazed outburst. To hear someone talk that way was simply baffling to her. The heavens being enslaved by a demon? She had never heard such a thought or idea so insane before. The mere thought of it terrified her, that would upset the balance currently maintained by both Hell and Heaven. It would mean horrible things for those still alive.

She bit her bottom lip, giving another terrified glance to both Kisa and Thorival. Kisa looked just as scared as she was, and she could see through her attempts to stay calm and collected. Prism didn't blame her whatsoever, Josef was terrifying.

Was it too late to go home yet? She didn't know if she could do this...

Of course it's too late! It would be an awful thing to do if you just gave up and left! You accepted all the risks coming down here, and for once you're going to stick to them!

The girl's ears seemed to perk up a little as she tried to gather enough courage to remain a little calmer than panicking. She would just wait for Kisa to tell her what she could do to help, if she needed her help at all.

Wynter

"........."

Wynter had seen crazy before, she lived in crazy right now, but THIS guy was DERANGED! His fit of laughter made her cringe heavily, her silver eyes wide as she dared listen to the words he spoke.

She looked to the angels to see their faces in that moment, and sure enough, it was written all over them There was no saving him, and even if there was, they would never want to, not after hearing what he was capable of and his desire to do such insane things.

Wynter also reminded herself that she had just got on the bad side of this monster. She had done more than screw herself over by talking back to him, she had just sentenced the rest of her existence to an even more miserable, painful, hell.

Congrats, you've just bought a one way ticket to a hell you'll never be able to escape from, just for the sake of keeping SOME of your pride. Bravo, you couldn't have ******** up worse, Wynter.

Waves of panic and regret washed over her once again, her stomach doing uneasy flips. If she failed this rehab, she was absolutely done for.

"Or, we could play no games at all? All this redemption has me ******** exhausted already, I think I'm ready to go find my room." Wynter dug her nails into her arms a little, clenching her teeth. "Let's not wear us demons out too much, or else some of us might already fall back into bad habits. We could even go reflect on our damn sins or whatever if you want."

I wanna leave I wanna leave I wanna leave I wanna leave NOW!

"Or, we could play no games at all? All this redemption has me ******** exhausted already, I think I'm ready to go find my room."

Kisa really liked that idea, too. So she was going to steer in that direction. Thank goodness someone said something, it made for the perfect opportunity.

"Y-Yes, that's a very good point. Please come this way, I can show you to your rooms!"

Kisa glanced at Prism, and motioned for her to follow; just in case Josef and Zuni stayed behind she didn't want a fellow angel left alone with them. That sounded like a very bad idea. So as soon as she made sure Thorival and Prism were following, and hopefully Josef and Zuni too, she walked down the halls. She pointed out which doors led to what.

"The first floor has all of the community rooms--This one to our left is the pool room, and to the right is the gym." They walk down an opposite hallway. "This hallway is all classrooms, for learning about different things like anger management. Depending on each demon's sins to work on, you might use some of these rooms or all of them. There's a class room for each sin: sloth, lust, greed, wrath, pride, envy, and gluttony. And then there's two other classrooms for customized classes."

The pastel-haired elf walked back to the front corridor and ventured to the left. "Over here is the dining room, and the kitchen." Then she showed them to the right. "Down here is to the indoor gardens."

Then Kisa took them upstairs. "This floor and several floors up are all rooms for demons participating in rehabilitation. Each room has a bed, a closet, a desk, and a personal bathroom, with some basic necessities. You're allowed a few personal belongings as long as they're pre-approved to make sure they don't contain items of sinful nature, like paraphernalia. I-If you need anything else, just let one of us know and we'd be happy to try and accommodate you! A-As long as it's not a sin, of course."

Kisa handed a key to Wynter. "Room 3~" She said, gesturing to the door. "And normally we do not allow alcohol or drugs in these rooms, but since today is almost over we don't want to make you detox right off the bat... s-so please keep that in mind in the future."

Then she handed Josef a key. "R-Room 1..." She turned to Zuni. "A-And if you change your mind about being in the program, Miss Zuni, I have a key for room 2--"

"Gimme." Was all Zuni said, and promptly held out her hand.

Kisa held out a key to Zuni, which the lime-haired demon instantly took the opportunity to grab at the chance of having a room separate from Josef.

"O-Okay, I'm glad! Tomorrow morning during group you can confess your sins like everyone else did, too!" She tried to smile a bit, happy to have another recruit. "Welcome to the program!"

Thorival Reseria

With wide eyes, Thorival staggers back, one hand holding his belt where a sheath rests holding a holy weapon designed solely to combat demons and the other hand ready to draw it. However...... his body wont move.

Cold sweat beads down his forehead as he just stares into Josef, watching his sharp teeth glint in the ambient light provided by the Angelic ornamentation decorated within the foyer of the Hotel. His eyes just stuck as the demon.... Lord.... No. It's.... as if he is a god!

No. Thorival shakes his head, throwing out that line of thought that for a fleeting moment danced across his consciousness. He cannot even allow himself to be that scared to have such thoughts be expressed that this DEMON is beyond lowlife, evil, despicable SCUM. With rage boiling in his heart, he growls until Kisa speaks.

"Kisa...."

The redeemed angel casts his glance over to Kisa with a shocked expression. What expression of valor, of courage in the face of unfathomable evil. A small smile creases across his lips, the feeling of hatred comparison to the heat of scorching fire quickly evaporating from his being, replaced by a warm, comfortable glow that rests within the Paladin's bosom whenever she speaks.

With newfound resolve, he then straightens his stance once more and nods to Prism, showing that he is with both Angels and standing at their side, his strength at their disposal should it come to defending their lives.

Josef

After that outburst, the Demon lord allows his arms fall to his sides, losing his grandeur pose and maintaining a gait of boredom and complacency, as if a switch was flipped within him, what once was his maniacal mode is now a boring, non speaking mode.

His gaze just purely placed beyond any figure the room, as if he is looking past everything and everyone. Acknowledging no one from this point on.

After Kisa leads them to their rooms, he softly takes his keys and continues his stare into nothingness. However... After Zuni takes her key.

"I thought I explicitly stated that Zuni is with me and that she shall be boarded with me? I mean, I AM her guardian after all. I must make sure..... she wont be reaped."

Prism

Prism wasted no time following after Kisa and the others, her tail swishing softly behind her as she walked down the halls. She gave a glance at Wynter, smiling a little and being grateful she had given them a chance to get out of that situation.

What was odd about it thought was that Josef had completely ceased talking, at least as they were shown around. It almost creeped her out more to have him not say anything, but at the same time, she didn't want to listen to him ramble about anything else. Ever.

The neko gave a thankful look to Thorival as well, he was certainly reassuring to say the least. She was happy he was accompanying them, mostly because she was still terrified of being here.

She enjoyed walking around the hotel, even if she knew almost every nook and cranny of the place already. She especially loved the indoor gardens, they were so pretty and she'd always enjoyed plants in general.

Prism felt a little bad for Zuni though as Josef pretty much denied her access to her own room. She thought about saying something, but of course, she didn't dare to. She knew it would only start an argument or worse if she stepped into things.

Wynter

Wynter let out a sigh of relief as they started the tour. Thank god, she just wanted to be left alone and get away from everyone else, and she'd be able to drink a little, dealing with all of this sober was a headache. She would just sleep it off and cut herself off from alcohol the next day. Which was easier said than done of course, it was going to be utter hell to go through withdrawal. She'd tried to quit before when she was alive, and it didn't work out too well.

Wynter was a bit pleased to hear that the rooms were so nice, it was definitely a step up from the run down apartment building she lived in currently. The landlord guy was a b***h too, jacking up prices just because he felt like it. She'd had more than one argument with him before about that.

The silver-eyed demon took her key with a smile, twirling it around her finger a couple times.

"Alright, no alcohol starting tomorrow Got it." She brushed her hair out of her face, and when Josef started complaining about Zuni getting her own room separate from him, the words were out of her mouth before she could even stop them.

"Jesus, let the girl have her own room for once. It's obvious she wants away from you. I don't blame her. The road of redemption doesn't require her to share a room with you." She retorted, walking over to her door and unlocking it.

What the hell did that Zuni chick do to cross paths with someone like him? Wynter thought absentmindedly.

The Beacon of Light

"O-Oh, that's right!" Kisa squeaked out, sounded extra nervous this time because she was honestly quite scared to make him angry. And he had gone dead silent for a while which was a bit creepier than him talking, actually... so she did honestly feel bad this time. "I-I'm sorry...!"

Zuni's ears snapped backwards, severely irritated she wasn't going to get away with it. God. Damn. It. All. But has been worth a damn try.... The demoness sighed loudly, and tossed the key back to Kisa, but the angel wasn't fast enough and it dinged onto the floor. Kisa bent down to pick it up and put it away back into her pocket.

I would ******** LOVE to be reaped. Please erase my soul from existence and get me the hell out of this s**t hole. Hey, since these angels are working with Grim, maybe I'll get to meet him at some point and he can take my soul.... ******** yes! The kitny thought to herself, starting to gather the plan in her head. Maybe staying at this dumb hotel was a good thing after all.

Zuni's bright purple eyes flicked over to Wynter, staring. Hard.

Holy s**t. Wynter just ******** up. BAD. The kitny's fur prickled slightly, a chill running down her spine. If it was one thing you didn't talk s**t to Josef about, it was his crazy addiction to Zuni. Of course the feelings weren't mutual. At all. So everything Wynter said was totally on point.... but Josef was unstable.

Zuni turned to him quickly and swiped the Room 1 key out of his hand, jerked on his arm and attempted to drag him into the room to try and keep him from going completely bat s**t crazy on Wynter's a**.

Josef

Wynter:"Jesus, let the girl have her own room for once. It's obvious she wants away from you. I don't blame her. The road of redemption doesn't require her to share a room with you."

........

With snake like eyes, his pupils grow super small, and his gaze is immediately flicked to Wynter as she says that. The atmosphere in the room stills and the pressure of killing intent washes over everyone as the Demon Lord lets out a small breath. The heat leaving the room rapidly, coldness fills the void left by the lack of heat. Pressure bearing down on everyone chest as the sure malice alone causes everyone to freeze as if stuck in a spell.

No one existing before today can explain to you that this is Josef Verruckt's extreme intent to devour, intent to destroy a place, location, and all it's people from existence. The power that people could explain should they exist after meeting this power would be that this is a power beyond what Death can even fathom. Beyond what the Grim Reaper can bring whenever he Reaps souls. This is beyond that.

An extreme frown is painted across Josef's face as Zuni grabs his hand in attempt to move Josef into the room where they are lodged in. His eyes fixate on the poor soul that just completely and utterly confronted him with contradictory words.

She will be lucky to survive the next few seconds.

Josef opens his mouth to speak, words escaping his lips like smoke escaping the material burned by the fire. Unnatural sounding, as if it was not made by a biological creature but as if it is spoken though the sound waves in the air. The voice reverberates and echoes in the hallway where they all stand, but to others it sounds like it was before, Josef's regular voice... but to Wynter.... this..... this betrays his true intentions.

"You. Are. Mine."

Josef then raises his hand, but stops as he flicks his eyes around, casting his gaze upon first Thorival then moves to Kisa, Prism.

As he targets his gaze on Prism's person, a small, warm smile appears and the hell spawn turns to follow Zuni into his room without another word.

Wynter

Wynter's eyes slowly turned to Josef as the atmosphere of the hall went cold and his malicious intent showed through. Her body suddenly went very stuff with fear, and the pressure felt as if a ton of cement was just laid on her chest. It was hard to breath, and she could barely swallow.

The silver-eyed demon could feel overwhelming fear take over her body like never before, at no time feeling fear quite like this when she was alive or after. Death wasn't even as terrifying as Josef was in these moments. Her hand felt frozen to the door knob, and when he spoke, every inch of her body was trembling out of her control.

The words he spoke sent her into an internal panic, her thoughts scrambled and she was unable to even stitch a complete thought together.

Dead, I'm so ******** dead- Again- Just what is this MONSTER?! Why'd you open your mouth you ******** dumbass?! I can barely breathe-

Her ears started ringing a little, but the sickening aura seemed to taper off slowly as he and Zuni went into their room. Her hand was still glued to the door as she tried to gather herself. The pressure seemed to lift as everything went back to normal.

"........."

Take that as a final warning, would you? You just HAD to say something, right? Play hero or whatever the ******** you would call that? Nice going.

With a very disturbed/pissed off face, she slipped into her room and closed the door just as fast, sliding down the back of her door until she was sitting against it inside the room. Her lungs released a shaky breath as she brought her knees to her chest.

Wynter hadn't felt that much fear since she was alive, and hell, this was probably twenty times more unnerving.

Prism

Prism gave a small whimper as this whole ordeal played out, her blue eyes wide and staring at both Wynter and Josef. Her body was trembling even worse when he spoke those three words. It was very few words, but the message seemed very clear. Wynter had crossed the line, maybe even jumped ten feet over it by his reaction.

Her ears were flat against her head, her tail curling around her leg in a terrified manner. She wanted to go somewhere, anywhere, but here. This was an awful, scary feeling. Never in her life or after she had died had she even felt anything REMOTELY close to this. She would call it fear, but she felt fear every day, and this was a million times worse.

A small eep escaped her lips as Josef's gaze passed her, trying to remain as still as she could, but of course every inch of her was shaking like a leaf.

I wanna go back to heaven now, I don't like it here at allllll!! Is he really going to stay here?! Will Kisa and Thorival let that happen..? Do they even have much of a choice? I-I don't think they do, it would go against what this hotel is supposed to stand for.

The girl hugged herself, teeth chattering as she stared at the floor, lost inside her own panic.
