Landing outside of it, he walked over to Lahlil who was busying herself attending to a newcomer. Once he drew up alongside her he stopped "All ready?"
Jyn took Karuto's words to heart. Strength for strength's sake would not make them strong enough to protect her loved ones. "Thank you, Mr. Karuto." They nodded as he left the ring to speak with the Hokage and left the ring themselves. They took a seat to unwrap their hands from the protective boxing gear and considered what could motivate them more.

Breezing last the dojo's doors with a sly look on his face Derane set his mind torwards a good workout. His shirt, already peeled off his back, would likely earn him looks from other gym goers. Derane didn't care however, in fact he meet each of those states with one of his own. Shame had always been the only emotion he never could get a grasp on.
First on his list was practicing his fluid body movements. With his body shape it was better suited to him currently than the average meat head punch style. It also carried with the lesson of fluid movements which did wonders for working his body. You wouldn't think someone who was dead would be so stiff... or maybe you would. Either way the genin set himself off torwards exercising to limber up himself. [ Stage one Flowing Art Learned ]
Mostly it was boring but then again bettering yourself always seemed to be. Bringing in a dummy to spice up the mix Derane practiced his hyuuga artform by striking with open palms at where the chakra points would be on a normal human. His movements were fluid even if he didn't feel like they were. It hadn't been that long since he discovered he carried the hyuuga eyes, a unique gift granted to him during his creation he was sure. I wonder who it was who had these eyes before me. Poor sap must have died horribly. [ Stage Two Flowing Arts Learned + Crushing Tides ]
Before his strikes were complete Derane shifted his weight ever so slightly granting him increased speed. The change was subtle, like that of water shifting from flowing to crashing it. Drowning the victim in a sea of lethal strikes at their chakra points. Derane wondered to himself if perhaps he had been some kind of martial artist in a past life. Finishing up his practice of the gentle fist movement there next came a break period followed quickly by balence training. It wouldn't do to break down ALL the work he had just done warming up afterall. To be honest Derane had little understanding of just how exactly one practiced balancing and so most of his attempts were placed squarely on him trying to hop along on a single foot while holding stacks of books in either hand. Rudimentary sure, but did it get the job do? You bet your monkeys hairy a** it did. [ Mach Flight + Acrobatic Mastery + Razor Wind Kick ]
Perhaps a slight cockiness came to him in that moment for as soon as the genin had finished walking the line hopping did he start to up the ante as it were. Dragging over a wooden beam and multiple pars of automatic dummy spinners, Derane wound up each of them to spin their wooden striking poles at him as he treaded along the beam. Of course nothing would happen if he failed here but that was for the best. Ni. Sense on wasting his life here when he barely even knew it's meaning right? [ Centrifuge Strike + Perfecting Balance + Slicing Handspring + Hurricane Kick ]
Only being knocked on his a** once Derane considered his training to be a success! But one couldn't expect to defend themselves with close range fighting alone now could they? But what did that leave him when ninjutsu wasn't really his thing? There was always throwing konami at his enemies. Perhaps there was an art form dedicated to the style as well? Out of curiosity did the boy travel to peek through the archives and, as luck would have it, managed to find what he was looking for. [ Swinging Fury + Straight Shot + Mirror Throwing + Snare Toss ]
A few if the forms looked far too advanced for him causing Derane to read into the beginning styles before hand. Best place to start anyway. He thought to himself before scavenging for a couple of practice projectiles, which thankfully wasn't too hard. I mean what kind of dojo wouldn't have practice weapons for those who sought to master bukijutsu? Taking a stance Derane picked out a target hanging on the wall and practiced striking at it. __ Finally finished with his training Derane meandered around the dojo not fully sure what he wanted to do yet. A small part of him was left curious of the others left working out around him. Throwing a lazy eye over the workout floor the boy managed to pick out something able to hold his attention for more than a few seconds, a massive hulking man stepping out of the ring with a young girl. It didn't take a genius to guess what speciality the man was but just who was this woman to stand in the ring with him and come out unscathed? Perhaps the answer was as simple as bim taking it easy on her but Derane felt himself wanting to believe the opposite. With a lazy stroll to the side of the ring a Jyn would feel a pair of crimson eyes boring into her, while a glance up would reveal a stitched smile and a pair outthrusted fangs looking back at her. "Yo. You look pretty good. Strong too." The opening had likely come on as 'strong'or 'creepy' but was a benefit in his eyes. Not growing up around others had turned him into one who freely spoke what was on his mind. "You know, one perk of being shunned by most people around here is that I had a lot of time to explore by myself. So I like to think I know all the best secret spots. Wanna go check em out with me? Promise not to bite."

Jyn held a calloused hand out to the stranger for a hand shake. "I am Jyn Nara," they introduced themselves. They smirked at his comment about biting. "I have seen your moves. You could do a lot worse than bite, I think."

__ Letting his jaw drop Derane expressed his obvious astonishment. Immediately his mind sent to questioning this girl's sudden and easily won a acceptance. "Uh.. I gotta be honest I'm surprised. Most people don't easily accept me and I kinda came up here fully prepared for you to tell at me to f--k off." Rubbing his chin momentarily the genin accepted her handshake and used the girl as an inspecting leverage to pull himself into the ring. "Well it's nice to meet ya Jyn Nara, you can call me Derane. Derane Balfager. So... you spy on people training often then? Or am I just a special case happened to peek your interest?" Leaning back against the ropes that formed the ring around them Derane found far more enjoyment than what he was expecting to. Trying to guess what this Jyn was thinking felt like trying to solve a puzzle. "Hey do you mind if I ask, just what exactly do you think I meant when I asked if you wanted to go out to my exploring spots later? I just want this to be as clear as possible that it would mean a date and... well now that I know you're taking me seriously I wonder if you could even keep up with me."

Jyn shrugged at his surprise. "I have spent little time in the village beyond training or learning, despite having lived here for a few years. I am very interested in seeing the smaller but wonderful things about it. Ah, Derane, I was training myself a few minutes ago... but I am impressed with your form." They put their hands on their hips, thinking about them potentially sparring in the future. Jyn had a mild interest in the physical arts but only had just a taste of it themselves.
"You would date a stranger? My, I have met many strange people in Konoha today. My people do not date. Instead, we simply fight together and hunt together until a mutual compatibility is felt and then a sign from nature makes itself known. So if you will only show me these special spots on the premise of a date, may I change the name of the game to a spar instead, and victor decides what we do?"
Jyn made the offer confidently. They were certain Derane would not accept. After all, Jyn's jacket was still discarded on a chair from the boxing match and all they were in was a tank top that showed some muscle and scars and little else. "And I think you should be the one struggling to catch up with me." They tried to not make it obvious that they were hoping Derane would drop all pretense and show them these spots anyways.

__ Now here was a true delight, someone who could speak his language. It took a great effort for Derane to hide his excitement at Jyn offer of a duel between the two in order to determine who they followed. If there was but one truth to the man, it was he was a daredevil, perhaps suicidally so. A sly grin slipped past his facade and the genin gave a bit of a lazy gentleman's bow. "Well Jyn I have to be honest. I may not know much about other cultures, but if I had to choose I'd say yours sounds the most interesting to me." The truth of his statement wasn't one justice by his words. It sounded so much more free than being in these stuffy walls all the time.
Eyes drifting generously over the woman's scars he couldn't help but wonder just how much she had been through in her life. Experience was a tricky thing to deal with in a fight. With a relaxed pace Derane took up position opposite to Jyn, although it might have looked like he gave little interest it was all a farce. Every step was taken with purpose to put him within a five foot distance. Dropping into a stance typically seen among the hyuuga, pupils spilling over into the whites of his eyes until all was eclipsed in a blood red color. "If I might make a request? I suspect I might lose this, if I do I would hope you still allow me to take you exploring."

Jyn smiled genuinely at the compliment to their people, then took note of Derane's stance. "If you insist on showing me regardless, then I suppose this spar is pointless. That said, prepare yourself." They wore a joyous grin as they took just a moment before attacking.
They moved as quickly as they could to close the distance, bring a knee up and kick at him straight. They laughed in excitement and to cope with the adrenaline surge of a battle. As much as they enjoyed victory, the real joy was in the fight itself, and they were intrigued by Derane and his newly white eyes. A hyuuga? "I hope you impress me," they spoke earnestly.

tabAfter finishing up with the Juei agent Lahlil quickly snuck under her sleeve, a fuunin she had prepared for just such an occasion. The perfect storm of desperation one could say! Sneaking her back just enough so that Karuto wouldn't be able to see Lahlil summoned an energy drink of the most destructive kind. She wasn't sure what exactly the body builders stance was on the drinks but this one in particular was from a notorious company that she herself had to shut down after a younger child died from consuming it. She on the other hand wasn't a child and even more so if she felt too sick she could always regulate nature chakra through her body to heal herself. Still there was always a bit of nervousness with trying something new. Nonsense! I'm the Hokage! How can you lead without risks?
Popping open the can Lahlil took a single sip from the car, a moderate first step and surely no cause for alarm right? One second, two, ten, thirty, and yet regardless of how long she waited she could feel no change in her body at all. Frowning at the drink Lahlil threw the mostly full container away and returned to Karuto who looked to be done with his lesson. Finally it was her turn to learn some martial arts! "HEY of course I'm ready! Ready to kick this thing full force." Excitedly getting in the larger man's face Lahlil was a zip of erratic behaviour. "SO so I was thinking bout what you said yeah? Well maybe I don't wanna learn Kaiser Fist. I wanna go FAST instead. Like whoosh~" Trying to empathize her point the Kage made a strange mixture of flowing hand movements and what was probably a whirlwind shape. Using visual ques was always the best way to display a point afterall. "Like a storm ya know? Do you know any that are all about speed?"

__ The kick was far above his level there was no doubt about that. Flooding her feet with chakra Derane was forced to dodge with supernatural speed lest he get taken out of the picture so early. Reappearing only a short distance from where he stood there was a subtle pause in the fight as the boy wanted for the exact moment when Jyn set her eyes on him. That would be his moment to shine, assuming that his opponent acknowledged his presence, a perfect likeness of him would form and dip off to the left. Pivoting on it’s foot the illusionary clone attempted to snake it’s way behind his opponent as if to strike her from behind, all the while being just tragically too slow. Meanwhile the real Derane would have already of lifted up into the air to preform a falling ax kick right on top of her.

Jyn was pleasantly surprised to see how well Derane was holding up already. They were impressed by his overall speed and reflex, and struggled to react quickly to the kick attack. They used a kaiser technique to generate a shield of chakra around their body that could withstand the kick.
As the kick landed on their chakra covered body, Jyn formed two hand seals to generate the shadow imitation technique upon contact so that their shadow would attach to Derane's.
They weren't thinking far ahead, having absolutely no way to attack Derane while under the shadow techique without getting punched or kicked the same way, but they might be able to argue for a victory in their favor and a quick trip to his fun, hidden spots.
ooc: so you were paying an extra cost to maintain the hyuga stance? trying to follow the spar to get more comfortable with battle rules but i wasn't sure since i didn't see your stam/chakra amounts; but thanks for marking extra activations so i could follow!!!

While active, the armor prevents damage equal to it's own rank. Kagemane no Jutsu [ Shadow Imitation Technique ] Rank: C Official Description: The Shadow Imitation Technique allows the user to extend their shadow on any surface (even water) and as far as they want as long as there is a sufficient area. "Like a whirlwind...yeah, I have just the thing" He said to the woman- a knowing grin breaking through the bushy beard that surrounded it. Karuto beckoned for Lahlil to follow him before escorting her off to the side and through a door leading into a private room. It looked very much like a dance studio, with polished floors and one wall made entirely out of mirrors. Karuto crossed to the room to the mirrors and placed a hand on a wooden hand rail that ran the length of the room. "Your body has gotten stronger, so I think you can handle this, but you're going to have to work on your flexibility" To emphasize this, Karuto brought his leg up and placed his heel easily on top of the hand rail. He then slid his other foot away from the wall so that he was doing a near perfect split before taking his leg off the rail and planting it back on the ground. "Now- let's get to it"
Over the course of the rest of the day Karuto instructed Lahlil on the first few stages of the Whirlwind Training- finding the woman to be both an amusing and talented pupil. She would never be a Taijutsu master, but she could at least become adept in a few select aspects
__ While falling through Derane noticed the formation of chakra through his Byakugan and Jyn's shadow peeling away from where it had been previously, moving on it's own as if it were separate from her body. His movements were much too far gone for him to stop now however, and with no way to adjust himself while in the air it seemed the match was fated in end in seconds. First his kick broke against the armor of electricity that surrounded her, then secondly Derane braced himself for a strike that never came. Instead a sensation overtook his body almost as if he wasn't really standing where he was and that he was simply watching an overview of himself. Any direction he gave his body refused to be followed and Derane sat in a full body stupor. Even his facial muscles were unable to twitch in his astonishment, it wasn't until his eyes lay on the shadow extending from her body into his that a partial understanding came about. Whatever this was was clearly tied to it but he lacked an understanding of shadow manipulating jutsu. His closest understanding was that it could be a genjutsu but his chakra infused kai failing to save him revealed that to be a lie. It seemed that he was at Jyn's mercy.

Jyn smiled as Derane was ultimately halted and unable to proceed to take offensive action against them. They took a step back so that Derane would mimic them, then bowed at the hip respectfully. "That was fun," they spoke honestly as they released the shadow technique. Assuming victory, Jyn pretended to think about what they wanted to do before coming to an abrupt decision. "I guess you have no choice but to show me these amazing spots in the village, then." They gestured towards the door for him to lead the way.
