The shecat gave a helpless look to Needlewhisker. "Ive asked the same question countless times...and never received an answer." It was hard to admit that starclan, the all knowing, really didnt know it all. "When we tried to discuss it ask the warrior what he was thinking, he refused to answer and brought an attack."
It was in all ways a last resort effort on their part, they had all had their own time on earth, and they wished they could have let the cats live out their lives, yet here they were needing their help.

"They are with Shatterstar in Starclan lands" Honeystar explained again. "Darkness is spreading. We can not continue this way young one. There are things beyond even my understanding that forces us into this war. But it was always Direstar's plan to keep it between the cats of this realm. You were never supposed to come here that was Starclan's choice, but if we lose this battle, there is so much at stake.....but somethings can not fall on mortal ears, not yet...you are not ready." Honeystar seems to heave a heavy breath she is not comfortable.

 What was happening almost seemed too much to comprehend in the short amount of time since he had awoken. Bouldertuft found himself among a great many of the clans standing before Starclan and cats passed. He saw some faces he recognized even from so short of run ins. But he also saw current faces. Faces of his actual clan members, panicked or otherwise. Having not yet spotted his brothers, Bouldertuft did spot a familiar she cat who seemed worried to her wits end. "Silverstreak!" he called, padding over to the she cat he had promised a hunt too just days before, hoping to calm her. "Hey.. are you alright? Are you hurt?" he mewed, concerned, hoping to keep the she cat calm.

Petalpaw finally noticed and registered what his mentor said. And that his mentor was even here! He turned his head and looked up at the warrior, shrinking down to the floor. "I know.. I'm sorry.." He said. He didn't want to anger his mentor, but he also didn't want to fight and hurt his friends! He felt relieved that his mentor was on his side, though, at least his teaching wouldn't be ruined if he made it out. He turned his head to look at the she cat again. "But.. what about after the battle?" He asked her. "What will we all do? What if we die?" He asked her fearfully.

Forestclan Shadowsong looked among the cats standing in the forest taking stock of who was there and who was not. Their leaders were missing, of course they are. Her apprentice was missing too, she'd notice in an instant if the shecat was there. The starclan was at fault, of course they were. Waiting just long enough to hear the other cats out, the warrior stepping up address Honeystar, "The Starclan using us as tools of war, sundering clans. This level of malice is just what we have come to expect from them. You can count on me to fight!" Some of the cats gathered were reassuring, such as Timberfall, a lot of the others she didn't know their abilities as much. Speaking up she added to the rest of the cats she mentioned, "We have to protect the kits and untested apprentices." They might not all listen to her, but her intentions were clear. This attacking clans, now kidnapping them to be part of their ideological struggled was completely out of paw! Valdmir Talamore Shadowsong addressing Honeystar  Fawnbriar found one of her kits first, Owlkit. Just seeing one of her babies helped but she had two other kits. Where where they?! Grabbing Owlkit by the scruff she carried the protesting kit until she leapt over tall grass and found her other two babies!
Quickly dropping Owlkit among his brother and sister, the queen frantically checked all the kits out, grooming their head to be sure. They were okay, thank the star--thank the forest! "Oh my babies, you are alright! I love you all so much." Purring, she crouched and pulled her tail around the kits as to protect them. The Starclan would pay for putting them in danger. The kits should have been left out of this!
Now that her babies were safe, where was Sootpelt? He wouldn't leave her to protect the kits on her own. Did the starclan have him?Forestclan Owlkit went from one confusion to another. Just sitting there he found himself picked up by his mother then off on a run. This was not fun! Crying out, he only stopped when he was dropped among his siblings. "Bearkit! Rabbitkit!" He called to them before their mother started grooming them. Crying out the kit protested crouching down to use Bearkit as an overly fluffy shield. Starclan
Cardinalkit clung to her mother and brother shaking at the world. What was going on? Why? The adults talking made no sense to her. Terrified she cried out like she always does, "Ma--" She stopped sharply staring into her mothers' fur. Wait, what? That had never happened before. She tilted her head and called out again "Momma?!" Looking up to her mother, the kit looked for a sign her mother actually hear her this time.Fea Line Praise the starclan, Cardinalkit to Bumblekit and Flamedapple

"After the battle things will be different and we can plan for the future hopefully together as equals." Honeystar nodded. "If you die you will not be able to wake up. You will stay in this realm with us."Firewater approached Timberfall, Petalpaw, and Honeystar to listen closely. "So no different from if we die in our realm?" He questioned honestly he had some strong feelings about the Starclan code so he was leaning towards helping himself."No different." Honeystar nodded.

Timberfall looked to comfort the small tomcat, but he didnt know how in this instance, he hadnt meant to intimidate only remind that he was going to be a strong warrior. "Dont apologize... its ok to be afraid... just not panic." His head bobbed and the apprentice would possibly be able to tell that the cat was nervous too. He glanced to Firewater as he approached and nodded his head. "Sounds it... nothing more to fear here... actually... no wild ride so guess it would be better to die here then there huh!"

Honeystar seemed ready for another cat to bombard her with questions and seemed surprised when Shadowsong agreed to join in the fight. "It makes my heart sore to hear you will join us." She bowed her head in a thankful way. "As I have said kits and elders shall be protected and not head into battle. Apprentices their mentors will decide if they are ready, if your mentor is not here." Honeystar seemed to pause for a moment. "Then seek advice from Timberfall, from what I have seen he is a skilled warrior and adept at knowing who should join a fight and who should not." She looked to Timberfall with a nod.

Firewater looked from the apprentice to Timberfall before giving a hearty laugh. For a cat that was a little nervous out of this realm he seemed calm here. "Im gotta fight and die at some point. Why not for a revolution! I never really favored dying old or becoming a gumpy elder anyways......." He looked to the apprentice again. "I mean not that we are gonna die per say..." He laughed nervously.

ForestclanHearing his mothers voice, Bearkit spun in a circle and let out a cry of joy. He had begun wobbling and bounding over towards his mother when she easily beat him and dropped Owlkit as Rabbitkit also appeared. "Owlkit, Rabbitkit!" he purred, happily grabbing onto his siblings and nibbling on his ear in return. "Mama I'm hungee." he blinked up at her before sitting down and looking around. "Where is we? Where da?" StarclanFlamedapple looked around for her mentor, having not spotted the dark she cat since arriving. "Oh Shadowsong..." she sighed softly, her ears perking at Shatteredstar's response to her quiet mumbled question but her gaze never met the star shimmered leader. "I hope shes not dead too....but....war?" she sighed softly, sinking down into the grass as she pressed the crying Bumblekit to her chest with a paw, not yet realizing why exactly he was crying (besides all the chaos going on.) It wasn't until Cardinalkit actually called out to her did a chill run down Flamedapple's spine. "Car... Cardinalkit? Sweetie? Oh...oh my baby! You can speak!" she mrrowed, pressing her forehead into the red kit's, despite the size different. Still, she was gentle as she covered the tiny kitten in lick upon lick upon lick. And then it hit her. "Bumblekit? Can you hear me too sweetheart?" she mrowed softly, nudging Bumblekit from her chest just a bit. Bumblekit stopped his wailing to glance up at his mother again, and then at his sister when he heard words escape her lips too. Is that what she had always been saying and he could just never hear her? Sniffling, he nosed his sister before pawing back up at his mom and attempting to make noise again. "Muhhh. Muuuhhmmuuuhhhhhhhhhh." he half growled, the word not coming out quite right. But still.... he could hear. Oh he could hear all of it..... Snuggling deeper into her babies, Flamedapple scanned the crowed again for Shatteredstar, getting to her paws and calling out to the starred leader. "Shatteredstar....please, my babies..." she blinked and stopped herself before trying to find the words. "They.....they wont stay like this. Like they are here....hearing and speaking....when we go back... will they?" her heart fluttered. Deep down she felt she knew the answer....but she had to ask. Shatteredstar looked to the momma cat and smiled at her and her children. But then her face saddened. "Im afraid not even starclan has that kind of control on the living world.While the barrier is down and they are here... they can hear and talk... but once you go home... in the light of a new day, they will be returned to how they were...." She swiped her tail. "But... the words you say to them now will linger forever in their ears. And all they say will be imprinted on your heart forever." She looked sad but she was glad the mothers of the kits could take some peace in their kits being able to communicate no matter how short a time it was.

SNOWDROP - FORESTCLAN
Snowdrop was shocked to open her eyes in a forest. Shadows seemed to wrap her in a comforting hug, and she couldn't help but bring a paw to her chest, as if to reciprocate. But it didn't take long for her to notice she was not alone.
She observed everything. She felt a twinge of guilty delight that her son was here, even though it meant neither of them were part of Starclan any longer. Her eyes softened as he panicked, as he spoke about fighting his friend... and she thought about all the other cats that were not there. In Starclan, she assumed, where they 'belonged'.
Snowdrop hadn't considered herself anything but Starclan loyal, so she shut her mismatched eyes, almost wishing she wasn't there. She wasn't even much of a fighter or a hunter. She had a kit in her own way to contribute to her clan, and planned to have others. What could she even offer here?
GOLDENLEAF - STARCLAN
Goldenleaf worked herself up into a panic. She was alone! Alone, which meant her kits had vanished! If the Starclan cats were to be believed, they had been scooped up by Forestclan and it just wasn't fair, they were too young! Was this more punishment for having kits with another clan's tom, or was this all the nefarious work of Forestclan all along?
The queen broke down sobbing, drawing her paws into her body and not caring what the others thought.

STARCLAN Flinttuft thought about this. Settling down on his old hind, he cocked his head at Mr. Shatterstar.
"So the kittens should be safe, ya say? Perhaps I should stay behind and keep watch for loose ends. If it's a war, the enemy would be smart to take out the rival's children. Devestation has a way of breaking people." He said, his calm manner belying his ugly words.

ForestclanThere was some comfort in her son telling her he was hungry. There was hardly more normal of a thing then the little kit asking for food."I know my precious baby, I know." Rewording the kit with several licks, she had to stop to answer his question. Where was Sootpelt? If he wasn't among the Forest, then he had to be in the Starclan. Selfish as it was, she was so grateful her kits followed her to the Forestclan. The Starclan had caused so much suffering for Rockclan, and now this...To know he was there hurt. "He was separated from us when we got here. Don't worry, your dad is looking for us. He'll be home soon." She hoped, the thought that he might be hurt and never come back to her was too much to bear.Owlkit fought back against his brother in vain. That wasn't Bearkit said he was hungry. "You are always hungry!" he protested and went to bat at his brother's paws just to bug him.StarclanCardinalkit laughed out loud reaching her paws to her mother's face, "You can hear me!" Finally her momma could hear her! Oh there was so much to tell her such as about Owlkit scaring her and her friend Lostkit.
Oh and her brother! Nuzzling her brother she just called out his name, "Bumblekit, Momma! I love you!" Purring up a storm, the little redkit was so far removed from the anxiety and stresses around her. So much to make up for!

StarclanFlamedapple had known the answer well before she had asked. But she had too. There was just something reassuring about going back to normal....even though normal hurt. “Thank you...” she said weakly to Shatteredstar, knowing the she cat was right. These calm moments were very few and very precious. Her attention turned fully back to her kits as Cardinalkit attacked her face. Laughing for once in her life, Flamedapple smiled. “Oh yes my precious little Cardinalkit, I can hear you. Mama loves you so very much. Both of you.” She said as she nosed Bumblekit and the completely perplexed look on his face right now. “Promise me that you both will never forget my words ok? I love you to Starclan and back.” She licked them both, purring madly. If only Shadowsong were here. Bumblekit was still confused, his sister was now making the mouth sounds but his still sounded funny. But somehow he didn’t care because he could hear it now and that made him happy. He wiggled his tiny rear and gently threw himself on his sister and laughed an awkward rusty sound of a laugh. The kind of a laugh that hadn’t ever been laughed before. He listened closely to his sister and mom, repeating their sounds over and over in his mind until he managed. Slow, but understandable words. “Ma-ma. Carh-dehnal-kit. I luhv yoo too!” He beamed proudly.
