Nataniel's dark eyes narrowed and he tipped his head. Had he misunderstood? He was not particularly well-versed in the hidden connotations of words, but to him it sounded as though when someone told him he would 'hurt himself' if he thought too hard or that he was incapable of understanding certain 'complexities,' that they expected he was stupid or inept. Maybe he was not chosen to be part of the same cosmic shenanigans as Mali was, but he was not. Stupid. And he did not want to be made to feel a fool for his 'curiosities' in that regard.
His gaze fell as the doll disappeared from his grasp, and he muttered, "Very well." Nataniel did not feel any great desire to keep the other man any more than Mali seemed to want to be here. It was probably best for them to part.
It had been an eventful morning, easily more of a distraction than he was accustomed to. But he had come here to work out, and besides a short sprint, Nat hadn't actually done much of that. He reached for his earbuds and set music to them from his phone as he turned from the senshi and moved back toward the way they had come from, closer to his bike for when he was ready to leave, but still with plenty of beach ahead of him and much morning left to burn.

There were many things 'Mali could have said at that moment. A fond farewell (most certainly not likely), a wish of safe travels, a kind word or two about staying safe.
None of those came to mind.
In fact, what he considered at first were a few curses about the other man's rudeness. But ultimately, it was not his problem, and he very much did not want to care anymore about this man.
So he left, going in the opposite direction to which Nataniel had headed, back into a darker corner to power down, then head home.
It was a shame he couldn't exactly brag about his good behavior.
