"Hmm? And why is that? Is something in particular keeping you at home?" This time, Derryl was a little curious about that. Besides the fact that he couldn't recall at all if Myles had a license or not. The subways and buses still worked just fine now, didn't they?
So perhaps a person? Perhaps that b*****d Jeremy liked to hold him home like a strange little hostage to 'protect him'.
No, no, he promised himself he wouldn't get riled up today.
"I'm sure I can be a good boy and wait a while. Best things for last after all. But did you think about what you wanted to eat? Can't keep you up all night if your belly's not full."

"No! Nothing's keeping me at home," he said, smiling. "But there's not a festival in town, not like this. And--it's different. Going alone and going with someone. It's special. Um. I just like it a lot. With you."
He looked around at the stalls, genuinely not sure what he wanted to eat, but he blurted the first thing that he saw: "Funnel Cake? And, um. Corn Dogs. I'll eat anything, Derryl, I'm not picky. But it seems like it would be a shame not to eat all this deep fried food. It all smells so good. I could probably eat some of everything and not be full."
