"Don't put too much pressure on the child, love. Remember, this is just a little life, one we will love,"she spoke gently. She reached over and squeezed his hand gently.

"No pressure, just happiness," Noah promised, "I wanted a family with you, Dea. And I've begun to feel as if this family is mine, but this baby..." This baby was his. And while he knew he loved Teddy, Krissy and the others, this was different. He didn't know how to express it without sounding biased. He'd come into a family that had already been formed.
"I can't wait to tell mom."

"I know you do, hon, but also remember there are others. Think of it kind of like how you adopt a child, even when they had a life without to. You just find a way to add to their lives and get to know them,"she spoke, reaching over to kiss his cheek. She knew he was happy to have a child of his own, but he should still work on getting to know the ones already here.

He paused. He hadn't thought about it as adopting and now that he was, he nodded in understanding. "Do you think you can give me some clues?" he asked and gave her a smile. "I want to be part of this family."

"Yes, of course I can give you some clues. Just ask about a kid and I can help you understand them a little more,"she nodded her head.

"I get on well enough with Teddy and the teenagers--they all know me from before I disappeared, though. Kimi and Paian, Eilam--they know me. But I think Timmy is suspicious of me and Tristan just doesn't seem very friendly. Did I do something to offend him?"

"Lightning does too, since she was also here, as well as Lucinda. As for Timmy and Tristan, both of them came from some things that weren't the best. So, they take time to prove your worth to them. Even Fluff, who is Tris's best friend got a cold reception to begin with,"she explained.

Oh. That did explain that. "But you got them out of those bad situations," he said, and gave her a small smile. "Alright, I'll be patient and try to show them my worth." He paused, then asked, "What did Fluff do to win him over?"

"I did, since I could see they both needed family. As for what Fluff did, he didn't give up, convinced Tris to start hanging out with him. Before they knew it, they were friends,"she smiled.

So if he didn't give up... Maybe... Noah nodded. It was like that a lot in life, with wild pokemon and job listings--you had to work to get pokemon to trust you and being held captive for three years put a damper on your job history. "Alright, I won't give up. I'll get them to spend time with me."

"Well, remember also not to force it either, okay? Take it slowly, get to know who they are and what they like. Then offer to do things with them, but don't worry if they decline at first,"she spoke gently.

“I’ll try to remember that,” Noah promised. He had to take it slowly, like when he met a feral Pokémon. These children weren’t feral but they were nervous. They’d had a hard time. He’d find out what they enjoyed doing and they’d do it. “
“What kind of things do they like?” He asked.

"Good, it was a lot of learning on our part when they first came too. As for what they like, some of it I will let you discover. I will tell you Tris likes art and Timmy likes books,"she smiled.

Art and books. He could do that. Maybe he could give Timmy one of his favorite books and they could bond over it. Maybe they could share their thoughts on the book and connect that way. He pondered what to do about Tris, though. He wasn't an artist. The best he could do was follow along with one of those on-tv painting classes.
"I could take them to an art museum."

Dea could see he was thinking, she just hoped he wouldn't try too hard. She knew he meant well, but knew he liked being on good terms with everyone. However, she also knew how that could wear someone out, especially when it was not possible with everyone. Though, she was hopeful everyone in her family, at least, would warm up to him eventually.
"Tris would like an art museum, though not sure how much Timmy would enjoy it,"she mused.
