“I promise,” Noah said, after a moment. It wasn’t a promise he could really make. Dea was his wife, and he couldn’t allow her to get hurt. “Scout’s honor.” He gave her a playful salute, hoping to distract her from the unhappy things.
“Time for a family meeting? Let’s go tell everyone what we’re doing for Christmas.”

A soft giggle escaped from her lips at his salute, it made her feel a little better. At the mention of a family meeting, she nodded her head and got in mental contact with Eilam.
"Eilam says he will get everyone together and meet us in the living room. You got to remember, I have my ways to make things quicker,"she smirked.

“Cheater,” Noah said, and laughed. “Well, let’s head to the living room. I’m sure they’ll all wondering what they’ve done wrong by now.” He took her hand and gave it a squeeze. “Best Christmas ever, remember.”
He headed towards the living room and sat on the couch.

"I don't cheat, I just make things more efficient. And depending on what Eilam told them, I would imagine they might be a little curious. Eilam knows, since he was standing guard when you came to show me,"she teased. She walked with him to the living room, a smile on her face.

“You cheat,” Noah insisted. “Aww, see? You’ve spoiled everything. There goes my whole plan to tell them they’re all grounded.” He pretended to pout. “You’re no fun.”
He squeezed her hand and gave her a playful smile. “Maybe we can prank them anyway.”

"Hey, I am not the one that shoved the picture in both of our faces. So if you want to blame someone, you might want to look in the mirror. And you know most of them are too smart for that,"she pointed out.

“I was excited!” Noah laughed. “Besides, I surprised you! I never used to be able to surprise Eilam, you know. He knew everything.” He kissed her cheek. “I haven’t wanted to look in the mirror for months. How do I look? Suspicious?” He posed for a moment before grinning.
“I know. I was teasing.”

"I can't argue with you that you surprised me and it was such a good surprise. And can't help it Eilam knows so much, it helps me around here, honestly. And you look fine, cute as ever,"she smiled, kissing his lips.

“He cheats,” Noah said, and smiled. He was still delighted to have surprised Dea. “They’re taking a long time to come out,” he observed. Were the kids scared they were going to be in trouble?
“I want to make popcorn over the fire at our cabin,” he said. “We’ll have fun!”

"There is a lot of them, it takes time for Eilam to find them all, love. We should also make some S'mores, since you know how much I like those. We also need to make sure to bring some fondue,"she mused.

“So many kids,” he teased. So many. He’d always wanted a family, and he was fond of them all, but he wondered what would have happened if he hadn’t gone missing those three years. They would have had a child of their own by now, surely. Maybe the twins would have been his.
“S’mores of course, and those little cocktail weinies, fondue?” He was surprised by that suggestion. “We’ll get plenty of chocolate, too.”

"Yeah, I know, but I couldn't help it, love. I like being able to help others and they needed a family. The others found me, so I can't take all the credit. The ones you knew, quite a few of them found me. And yes, fondue, so we can dip pretzels and things into it. Will be really fun,"she smiled.

He knew that. It was one of Dea’s more endearing traits, her need to help others. “They always found you,” he said. “I was jealous for ages, and then Sunny came and found me.”
He took out pocket sized notebook and started writing their list down. “Pretzels and fondue,” he said, as he wrote. “Best Christmas ever?”

"I couldn't help it, it was like I had some kind of homing device on me or something. First, Eilam and Lightning, then some of my others came to me. And I always said you were lucky when you got Sunny. And yes, this will be the best Christmas ever,"she nodded.

“Maybe it was because of your ability,” Noah offered. He’d always wondered how Dea attracted Pokémon. He hadn’t been like that, even as a small child. He had had to go out and catch them. “Sunny came to me, though. Maybe he could sense something in me.” But his suicune, his altaria, his goodra and teddiursa... He’d caught them and trained them. And they were gone.
He missed them. He wanted to fill that hole. But he had to ignore it. It was Christmas time. “They’d better hurry,” he said. “We might leave without them.”
