[ A ]fool the boy continued to prove himself to be. Caution? It was this foolishness that would cost him dearly as she rolled backwards from her crouched position, even as he neared, and as she completed one rotation of the body her bow would rise and three arrows would rush from her form to menace and threaten the boy's careful posture. It wasn't a normal move from an archer, nor would it be readily obvious how she fired as she completed the roll by using the momentum to launch herself backwards and land in a standing position, bow at the ready. Lightning arched across her blade as he dropped his mask, and part of her couldn't help sneering at the scars. Many thought they meant something about length of life and the 'hardness' of that life's struggles, but to her it meant he made too many mistakes. He acted mightier than her, acted better than her and yet had the gall to show off the road map of stupidity that was his face? A true testament to the failures he'd lived through? Well, if nothing else, it meant he had tenacity to keep going even with a face only a mother could smother.
tab And then he began to ooze his chakra, and the manifestation of its presence was born.
tab She sighed melodramatically as she realized that the boy was too thick headed to realize he was being mocked. Or rather, that he earned the mockery. Too self absorbed and self righteous to recognize that his actions this day would paint to others how untrustworthy and foolish he was. The day would be remembered, surely, for his attempted murder of an individual over a few words said in obvious disdain. Homicide for harmless speech. Everyone would know, of course, and everyone would see it.
tab She'd make sure of that.
tab And so as he gracefully took his stance and readied himself for what was likely to be his all-or-nothing attack, Zurusu Kuriko decided to humor him. Perhaps, if he saw a glimpse of what she was capable of, he'd realize that his preconceptions about people could lead him on a fast track to the Echoes. Standing completely erect, relaxed in posture and careless in her movements, the gift tossed her bow behind her and popped the buckle around her hips to allow her quiver to fall to the earth. As she did she began to sing, and immediately the air about her would change. "A storm is loosed upon the sea, whose eye is stained with tears~," she began, her tone, her voice, completely different. Her brogue was gone, abandoning her voice to allow it to be clear and crisp as a Winter's morning. As the words dripped from her mouth she reached back over her shoulder with slow grace to allow her fingertips to grace the surface of the hilt found there. A long blade, one she'd stubbornly refused to draw for months, as it was reserved for only those who had truly earned her ire and, grudgingly, some level of respect in skill.
tab The instant her touch reached the blade the aura of menace grew to such a degree that the very air would seem to crackle. This emotion bore no name, but brought with it an image: a predator coiling to strike a killing blow to its prey. Death would not be this boy's reward, of course. No, that would be kind, gentle by comparison. "A wretch hell-bound, and bent on blood, the making of the fearful's fears..." Even as the boy's movements settled into place, as his blade would whisper into its sheath her's would sing its freedom with a metallic ring, revealing an unusually etched blade with a purity that might well give the impression of lack of use. Still the blade moved, and as it sang through the air to come to rest its point on the earth its outline would fuzz as something began to take hold of it. Relaxed, she thought, her body languid and graceful as a hunter.
tab "The tide it stole away her grace, the depths, they wouldn't claim her...~"
tab His breathing slowed as he readied the strike, and his mouth began to frame words, even as Zuu closed her eyes, the next words for her song continuing pure and powerful, and with it, causing her aura to become bestial, inhuman, something that clearly stated that human, she most definitely was not. "A toil begat by father's blood, this path was laid before her...~"
tab Before she could finish, before she would grant him the honor of seeing her true flesh, her true capability, he flashed forward in what she knew to be an Iado strike. That was fine, that was predicted. His entire stance was that of a samurai so it came as no surprise he would use their deadly moves. But she he didn't know was what she could do. She'd held back, she'd used her weakest weapon as an insult to all he stood for, but he couldn't know that. It was likely he would think the blade a show, something that was meant for little more than decoration, and that the bow, and her pitiful performance with it, was the culmination of her talents.
tab The responding movement from her would put that thought right into the dirt.
tab His blade would sing forward as it left it's sheathe, but so too would her movements throw her forward at a speed she had yet to use. Forward she'd flash, her sword sweeping down from the right and up from the left, an unusually flashy move that put her blade in his way. Made of ancient design alien to the land of the shinobi her sword carried two edges, meant for either direction, and so as she swung to meet him she would push forward with her hands about the hilt in a reversed cross hold, bringing her body forward further than her blade's tip. In essence, his blade would bite across her face, yes, and she'd accept that damage, but her blade was now diagonal across the whole of his body. If both were to carry forward their blades would intersect, and his would slide along the edge, carrying his torso across her blade and dealing one hell of a damaging strike to his body.
tab If they continued forward, of course.

Nina Hojo ll Scholar ll Suiton :: Raiton ll Serial Killer Pharmacist :: D-Rank ll True Ancestor :: Hojo Hybrid

This whole contest of who had the bigger d**k had been going on for only a short while but it was clear to Nina. These were both individuals who could see only one truth. These were rather boring people. Her lilac eyes threatened to glaze over after each trump card continued to be played as if these kids had no idea what it meant to drawn a trump card. It was a back and forth of "BUT WAIT there's more!" Perhaps this was how all warriors fought, with such bravado and stupidity. She wouldn't know she was a dishonest hunter. She was never truthful. The squid girl raised a hand to her mouth as she let out a long bored yawn. From how the loud boy had spoken she was expecting overwhelming power. A giant crushing a fair maiden with its club! A bloody spectacle that would leave nothing but a bloody pile of mush! He was, however, just an a rat scampering around in the shadows waiting for a chance that lacked risk. A safe coward. He was lacking the hunt's thrill. That wasn't to say the redhead was any better in Nina's eyes. What had started as intrigue had eroded away. She was just like the Big Bad Wolf, that was to say she was nothing but hot air attempting to blow the bow down. It had started out promising. The girl had set herself up as the law. Someone who would only need one simple strike to end the confrontation. Instead she had sung, danced, and made a general a** of herself after falling for such an obvious slight of hand by the rat. She had made big claims and not a single one had landed. All hot air attempting to blow down a brick house.

All the while, whether either of them had noticed, the squid had been watching both of them with the eyes of a shark. A beast hungering for bloodshed and pain. She saw them as two walking blood bags. Both of them already had several chances to lob the other's head off and both of them had wasted them. Normally that was fine, after all the hunter should play with the prey if they don't need nourishment, but neither of them seemed to be playing with their food. This also bothered her because it was a fight, not the hunt. They were wasting all those chances without even realizing it. The squids eyes threatened to roll as both hotheads had readied their swords. 'Stupid! What was the point of the MAGIC SWISH SWASH battle if they were just going to do all or nothings. StuPID STUPID. Just draw Blood Letter. One whip and both heads a go. Simple swing! Nono, too bright too many people too stupid. Stupid girl that gets us caught. A waste. Just end this pointlessness.' She thought haphazardly as they neared each other to end the fight. Her free hand had found its way into her jacket pocket when the fight began gripping onto one of her daggers, but now her fingers had let go. They weren't prey anymore, they weren't worth her focus. It would have been all too easy to just whip Blood Letter out on its chain. A simple fluid whip of her hand. She would have been doing what neither was doing: taking advantage of preconceptions. A long fight is a wasted fight. Stamina needs to be conserved for the hunt. The hunt allowed for enjoyment. Fighting was pointless because it was straight forward. There was no need to waste time and energy swinging weapons around because they didn't much like each other. Fighting the lacked passion Nina chased. She looked away as the climax happened no longer caring who won. Neither party had warranted her intervening and ending the duel so if either or both we're killed so be it. The sooner this was over the sooner she could keep reading up on those were-creatures. They seemed to enjoy the hunt as much as she did.

Quote " 'All stories are true,' Skarpi said. 'But this one really happened, if that’s what you mean.' He took another slow drink, then smiled again, his bright eyes dancing. 'More or less. You have to be a bit of a liar to tell a story the right way. Too much truth confuses the facts. Too much honesty makes you sound insincere.' " :: Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the Wind

Fault lines tremble underneath my glass house, but I put it out of my mind...

[Location:] Academy Training Field

I'd had every intention of finding a medic to evaluate my injuries, some food, and then a bed, but that wasn't on my agenda apparently. Just as I reached the stairs leading down from the bridge to the Hospital District, someone ran up to me, traveling from the north. Evidently, she had gone to the Academy District to do some training and found two people slinging insults at each other, and they seemed to want to do the other harm. It didn't feel like a sparring match. So, she'd ran to the Hospital in hopes of grabbing a medic in case someone did get hurt, as well as maybe a guard or two to interfere if it went too far. Instead she found me, and that was a happy medium, I guess. I sent her off to grab a healer anyway and hurried north, despite silent protest from Fiorzia.

As I approached is when the singing began, and there was something dangerous about it. Then the training field properly came into sight. Sure enough an armored man wielding a katana and a red haired woman beginning to draw her own faced each other. I recognized neither of them, so if they were residents of the town they were new. Even if they weren't officially residents of Ikeinasu, we didn't have any restrictions really on who could use the academy and sparring grounds, but I preferred if strangers wanted to slit each others' throats they do it far away from the people who just wanted to live peaceful lives in an already unforgiving world. We already had enough to worry about without infighting amongst each other.

I could feel the metaphorical electricity in the air as their blades collided, and with it came that sense of danger again. I needed to stop this before a life was lost. There were too few humans to afford throwing away even one of those souls. But I had to make a cautious interference. I was already exhausted, and had no idea how strong either of them were. Settling a hand on the hilt of my own blade, Zephyr, I raised my voice to grab their attention. "That's enough!" I called, and waited a moment to see if either reacted. I noticed a third presence then, but they didn't seem to be involved outside of watching. Regardless of reactions, I continued. "If you want to kill each other, do it somewhere else. But our lives are too valuable to be wasting on fighting."

...long enough to call it 'courage' to live without a lifeline.

㊌ ☾ ☾ ☾ Kira Yamata ☽ ☽ ☽ ㊌

Kira made sure to stop his movements in time to not decapitate his enemy but instead slice across her nose. She had finally drawn her sword out which to Kira seemed more fair play, a true battle of warriors instead of what he and her had to did with the long range antics. Her blade was foreign but could see the advantages to it, though with his armor he was confident to some extant his armor would help block some blows. As she performed her own maneuver to swing the blade in a circle and have the blade square up on his chest. Kira's Iado strike left his sword on the right side in his hand at this point but he had plans still. To his sides where a tanto and kodachi that he was about to draw and throw at the girls throat when someone else intervene.

The male, green eyed, battered and bruised, as he called the fight to be stopped. A difference in the air was set within the room with him, Kira didn't need to know verbally who this person was to tell he was the leader here. With his proclamation of battles of such things like this wanting to be made that they needed to be made farther than here a sense of calm entered Kira chakra and aura. Looking back at the red head he took one more cheap shot in from the dsitraction, not deadly but enough to hurt, with the butt end of his katana to her left jaw and deflected the sword she wielded upward by pushing his kodachi on his side infront and forward from her sword. He used this to jump backward in a acrobats fashion grabbing his helm on the way before landing 5 meters away from the girl.

Fashioning his helmet back on alongside his mask. He looked towards the man and said, "I only attacked because I was challenged and mocked in said challenged, I have the... I guess note to prove it" Kira pulled out the tattered note that zuu had made for the challenge in case kaileer wanted to look at it, "My actions were justified. I even gave a CLEAR and FAIR option to wait to avoid bloodshed. She could not. But... I do recognize true authority when it enters and I shall stop this nonsense of a fight. I do not want, I presume anyway, the leader of this village want to kill me over a challenge like this... Forgive any of my more 'archaic' terms I use, it's the only ones I know sense I woke up."From there, Kira, began sheathing both the kodachi and his katana to the scabbards and with a sense of seething discomfort looked to Zuu and made himself physically bow. it was the lightest bow he ever gave but it was one none the less. He than looked to the green eyed one and said, "Is there any recompance I require to do before leaving? If not I shall be on my way Sir?..." kira asked the man's name not in rudeness but in curiousness to make sure he knew who he was speaking to next or whenever they would meet again

[ T ]he fury of war surged through her veins like ice through a channel, each moment cold, calculated, and utterly thrilling. His blade would come up to try and block her, and her blade would unleash that which was held within: the sounds of what she felt within. It would hit later, she was certain, though it would have hit far sooner had she not heard the orders.
tab The orders of an Alpha personality.
tab Her eyes did not leave the boy's face as she dead eye stared him, unwilling to flinch or move even as he lunged with a cheap shot. It would hit, of course it would, because she wouldn't try to dodge it. She would instead stare at him, unmoving, even as blood welled within her mouth, but she would not look away. Instead her expression became one of pity, for what else could she feel for someone who spoke so highly of personal honor and yet would take a cheap shot like this? Where was his honor when the battle came to an end and he lashed out anyway? It did nothing for his cause, and yet fulfilled her claims. He was a child, a petulant one, and his movements had caused that which had begun to grow to instantly be stifled. She'd drawn her blade for this cretin? Not again. Not for a long time yet would she offer such an honor to scum as he.
tab As he performed his little tricks to back up the red-haired beauty twirled her blade to toss the blood she had gained from him off of the blade and back to the earth where it belonged. Spitting to the side with eyes locked upon his form she slid the blade home over her shoulder and grinned, her lips upturned in a feral snarl as he finished his stupid excuse of a story. "Ay, o' course yeh be paintin' yerself the victim here, ya c**k goblin. That cheap shot would tell near every'un how mooch of a fookin' pansy ya be. But if words be 'nuff ter incite yet wrath to murder than ye be deservin' bein' treated like the cur ya are."
tab For a moment her eyes jerked to the male who had ordered them to cease before snapping back forward. Black hair, green eyes, with clear battle exhaustion upon his stance and eyes. Add into it the danger implicit in his tone and it was clear he held some level of authority within this place, though how much was difficult to say when she didn't know his ******** name. Still, his words cut deep at that which has caused such disarray here: she was wasting their time. Not the cocksucker's, no, but the girl with the fascinating hair and now this young guy. She could care about the waste of time on her part, the breath and work she'd been forced to put out to put this future convict in his place, but the time she took from others that could and would have been spent on better things? It didn't sit well with her. No, ******** that, it goddamn set her pulse to racing. What was she doing here, when it was clear the male was injured and had better things to do? Was he even now looking at her like the scum she was being? What about the squ- she was leaving.
tab 'Gods above and below I hope ya all get fookin' bent!'

Nina Hojo ll Scholar ll Suiton :: Raiton ll Serial Killer Pharmacist :: D-Rank ll True Ancestor :: Hojo Hybrid

While Nina was busy not watching the end of the fight she had the unfortunate timing to see the one person she had been avoiding in the entire city. She had no idea what his name was, or what he really did, but ever cell in her body told her to avoid him. All she could tell was that he was some form of authoritative member of the fledgling village. So she had successfully done since she began squatting in the town, until now. her tentacle like hair began curling around her face, replacing her studded mask back on her face. The less the boy could see of her was better. If she was only near some water she could have hidden her presence with her camouflage but alas she was on dry land only a few feet away from danger himself. When he had shouted it was like a thunderclap had struck her very bones. If it was physically possible she would have noped into oblivion at that moment. Her heart was racing as he glanced in her direction apparently just realizing she was there. 'Gotta run run RUN get going not here. Dangerous. Why is mY LUCk so bad. So careful until now. Idiots! DUMB DUMB DUMB!' Her mind screamed in worried agony. She wasted absolutely no time once the boy had stopped looking in her direction. Her arms scooped her items in one fluid motion as she turned sharply on her heel. She was gone. She didn't bother looking towards the aftermath even as voices began raising in tempered emotion. Her terrified train of escape came to a sudden and abrupt grinding halt.

An intoxicatingly addictive aroma filled the air around her. One she was all too familiar with. Fresh blood. She took a long focused inhale through her nostrils, taking in every difference in the victims blood. Her eyes fluttered closed as she let the scent overtake her urges. It wasn't a human's blood. It, however, wasn't far off. Whatever the cause was the source of the blood had the scent of an animal mixed into it. Her wild hair was whipping about at the air excitedly. It was behaving as if she had won the lottery. As if she had taken a bite out of perfectly cooked meat. Safe to say she was slightly (read as: way) too excited about having the smell of blood in the crisp chilly air. A small shiver shot down her spine as the smell grew stronger, the source was closing in on her. Despite her many screaming rational thoughts she stopped her attempted escape from the powerful boy and instead turned her head to see the holder of such interesting blood. Her eyes opened unnaturally quick. Her eyes were far more unnatural as it was however. Her iris' had eclipsed her eyes. They were now completely lilac, all the remained of her pupils were tiny pinpricks the whites gone completely. Simply put they were perfectly mimicking a shark's own eyes. She was lucky her mask was covering her face as her True Ancestor fangs were itching to take a bite. It was as the figure came into focus that Nina regained the fragment of sanity she still carried. She shook her head in the moment and began shutting down all her bodies natural responses. A small breath later she opened her eyes again, only now the lilac was shrinking down to a more human size around her pupils.

Her hair however was still groping at the air as if pleading with the very gods to let her take a small sip. Her composer began to return to her as the redhead caught up to her. She opened her mouth to speak before stopping a moment to remember what personality she was using with this one. "Ah..." She mumbled as her eyes lingered on the slightly bloodied mouth and clearly cut nose, "Oh dear! That brute got you good did he?" Ah I mean... pardon for leaving at the end. With such an important person watching I wasn't needed to officiate the duel!" She stammered out her excuse like it was second hand. If the world hadn't gone to s**t she would have done wonders in the moving picture business. She made an odd combination of hand gestures before removing a glove the girl reached out to the redhead's face and gently brushed her thumb over the girls mystically healing nose. Her finger looked ragged and rough in contrast the the everything else about the squid girl. Instead of pristine porcelain it was cracked and scarred as if she made a habit of squeezing her hands into fists while holding glass. Her chakra began forcing itself into the open wound as her finger thumb lingered on the girls face. Realizing she was lingering she removed her hand and let her chakra work its magic. The redhead's bleeding began to staunch and coagulate unreasonably quickly when combined with the girls own skill. "A silly wound for a silly fight. It shouldn't scar though as long as you avoid picking at the scab. Wouldn't want to tarnish such a pretty face over a silly matter... no?" She said softly, replacing her glove over her hand as she watched the blood finish flowing. She had done this more for herself than for the redhead. If the wound hadn't closed she would have had a hard time controlling her urges.

Nina's Theme LEFT BOY - Dangerous

Ketsueki Gyōko [Blood Coagulation]
Rank: D
Description: The user forces their chakra into a wound to make the blood there coagulate and cause the wound to stop bleeding. This is primarily used as a preliminary treatment option since it does not close wounds. The bleeding from superficial wounds can easily be stopped after one [1] full post but deep wounds require three [3] posts. Using this technique on deeper wounds will result in scar tissue forming if further treatment is not received.

Fault lines tremble underneath my glass house, but I put it out of my mind...

[Location:] Academy Training Field

The pair of trouble makers complied, but not before the armored male took a cheap shot at the red-haired woman during my distraction. My blood boiled and my grip tightened on the hilt of my blade, electricity dancing across my skin as I fought not to lose my cool. I was tired and hurting, and in the one motion of him slamming his pommel into her jaw, I lost respect for the man. If it had continued beyond the strike, I'd have intervened physically. But the young man backed off after his dirty trick, so I forced myself to calm down. I let them both say their piece--him claiming he attacked because he was mocked but he didn't want to be killed by me for it and her just insulting him for playing the victim. I growled through my teeth. "I honestly don't care what your reasoning is. I won't have people wantonly murdering each other in this town. If that's a problem, get out."

The red head turned away to make her leave, shouting something about getting acquainted with the leader. This irked me for a reason I didn't like. As much as I didn't really want to be in charge, I had to admit I enjoyed the control. It had been that way in my past life too. Fiorzia, beside me, leaned forward slightly so she was properly in my view and gave me a questioning look. I just shook my head. The girl would figure it out at some point, but I was too annoyed with the general situation to bother telling her the person she was looking for was already there. Besides, something felt... off about her sudden change in tone, and I couldn't help feeling that correcting her would just cause unneeded embarrassment. Assuming she didn't just flat out leave the town, I'd seek her out later, once everything had settled down and I could actually think straight.

The other girl that was present intercepted her anyway and my moment to intervene was gone.

So I turned my attention back to the armored boy as he spoke again. "Kaileer," I answered stiffly. At least he was trying to be respectful. It would take more than formalities for my trust to be earned, though. "And no. Just don't let it happen again." I shifted slightly, alleviating some pain that was growing in my leg, and my gaze turned away, across the small town that sprawled down the mountainside. "There aren't enough of us left to be risking your lives so carelessly." Shaking myself to clear my thoughts, I took a step back and turned to leave, presuming I wasn't stopped.

Obviously, he wasn't winning points with anyone with the underhanded tactic he pulled. Moods of him changed when he hit Zuu in the jaw with his sword, especially in the leader, Kaileer. What kira considered evidence they all considered an 'excuse', Kira merely shook his head and electrocuted the cloth to burn it to a crisp. Why did he even bother trying to justify his actions if no one was going to listen to his side of the story, it was his village all over again.... As they all left Kaileer gave a clear warning not to do it again and that there where to few people left in the world now.

"If we didn't risk our lives Kaileer we would end up in a bubble, run out of everything we have, and then die a slow death. but hey, What do I know?"
Kira merely shrugged in his armor as he began to make his exit away from kaileer. As he stepped outside he noticed his knuckles seemed to hurt slightly and would check on them, removing his glove. There he could see his middle fingers knuckle dislodged and bruised. looking at it for a moment he took his other hand and pushed it back in place for the time being. Putting the glove back on he took note of the multiple sword slashes she had delivered not only to the gauntlet but the main breast scale as well.

Kira was, in his annoyance, impressed at the quality of the cut and couldn't help admire it before getting angry that Karen would have to fix it up so soon. Maybe he could try and do a patch job himself? No that would be a disgrace to the armor and the smith who made it. He unfortunately had to go to karen once again

Failing to groan she almost snarled when a hand touched her face, but the pain...it ebbed and ran like mist down her face, leaving instead the tension of fresh flesh on old. User ImageEnter from Crafting/Market District

Two days in a row, Jean's face was seen in the academy. It was a rare sight for the civilian crafter to be mingling with the more martial types here. However, aside from paying Hono a house visit, it had been a coin flip between this place and the mission board, and Jean just happened to choose this place as the one place to visit before leaving to explore with Shea.

Antisocial as ever, Jean walked quietly through the simple facilities, his eyes paying more attention to the architectural details than the people he was rather carefully trying to avoid touching as he walked past. How he managed to focus on one but be careful of another would perhaps remain a mystery for all the years to come. Luckily, the hallways weren't too crowded at this time of day.

Hono was always easy to spot. Standing heads and shoulders above most everyone else, Jean only needed to scan the tops of everyone's heads for a head of white hair and pristine features. That is to say, Jean hadn't forgotten his reason for coming here. It was just he didn't need to pay attention to much to find Hono, not amidst these drab colors and rough folks.

As mentioned, Hono was found easily. Jean found him while searching through the rows of shelves in the library. He stopped upon discovering the beautifully proportioned adolescent, taking a moment to admire the elegance exuded by his form, framed in the narrow space between bookshelves with the natural light of day streaming in from a window behind Jean's head.

After a couple seconds of this, the artist called out if his habit of staring hadn't already given him away, "Hono. I'm glad to find you here." The cold-faced artisan approached his fellow artisan, his 5'8" figure easily shorter than the other teen's and his face not looking very glad at all. Though, his face was by far the most relaxed when he faced Hono, even if it failed to show any emotions. While he enjoyed this human's company, he still stopped a polite distance away and got straight to the point, "Shea and I were considering exploring a little outside of the village to try gathering materials ourselves. Would you like to accompany us?".

at the sound of his name being called. The sense of being watched, it was there -
always there, standing out so much, being so frail; a liability - had intensified
with the still figure, motionless, out of the corner of one eye. Persevere, some-

I'm not sure what led Jean to try most of the way across the town at the academy, but the search came as a success. Or at least I assumed it had when the white-haired male called out to another figure.

Hono was tall--though I guess everyone was tall in comparison to me--with pale hair and blue eyes just like Jean. I wondered for a moment if they were related. But Hono's response to my companion suggested a lack of familiarity that dismissed my initial thought. Jean asked if the boy wanted to come along with us, and he agreed without asking questions. Well that was easy, I supposed.

I hovered a few feet behind Jean, wondering if I should introduce myself to the new addition to our party. Jean had already introduced me, sort of, so was it weird to offer my name again? Was there something else I could say? Or should I just stay quiet? He didn't seem to have noticed me after all. Taking a deep breath, I pushed back the bit of social anxiety I felt and stepped forward. "Hello! It's nice to meet you. My name is Shea."

Nina Hojo ll Scholar ll Suiton :: Raiton ll Serial Killer Pharmacist :: D-Rank ll True Ancestor :: Hojo Hybrid

If Nina was hunger for life essence originally was barely being contained... the moment Zuu had opened her mouth the faux squid nearly lost herself. It was a thick musky scent of iron. The girl had sustained in internal wound to her mouth after all, it shouldn't have been surprising. Yet it caught the girl off her guard. If it had been any normal human's blood? There'd be no issue. This flaming tower however had unique blend of life essence this much was obvious to the bloodoholic. She couldn't deny her bodily functions any longer. Her eyes swelled with the lilac hue of her iris', not a single drop of white remained within the sea of desire. A negligible pinprick of black was all that remained as proof of functionality. She was caught up in the moment. Even besides the scent of blood the scent of a predator was etched into the redhead's breath. The flavor of game meat fermented in a thick iron. A girl experienced with raw meat. Someone interesting enough she might just fall head over heels for. 'Ah. We had misJUDGED, Perfect perfect perfect. I neeEEED a taste. HOld. Still self still. Time it takes time. I cant afford to be vagrANt anymore. Shitty world. Shitty life. WAit speaking time.' Her mind was a venerable storm of chaotic thoughts. Her physical appearance wasn't far off either. Her hair was gropping towards the flaming tower, threatening to coil around her limbs to halt the escape. Once again her only saving grace was her covered face. She could imagine the face she was making wasn't at all something the helpful but shy nursing student role she was filling would make.

"Ah. I apologize, this is rude! Your seeing such an unpleasant side of me!" She said softly, a twinge of embarrassment lingering in her voice. She brushed some wriggling clumps of hair behind her ear masterfully, her eyes drifting to the side. "I believe I mentioned us Hojo are pretty adaptive. You'd be surprised how helpful it is to be so sensitive to blood... when you work- worked in the medical field. Ah but you dont want to hear about any of these boring reactions! Booze yes? I know of a small shop, they also serve some exquisite meat." She was careful with her word choices, they were all half truths. Such things are hard to pick apart. It made it easier to course correct conversations. There was no point in hiding the obvious. She was certainly biologically an oddball but it wasn't unrealistic for a Hojo clansman to have traits that weren't strictly squid in nature. While highly unlikely shark traits could present themselves over generations in a more carnivorous sect. It wasn't why she had them no, but it was possible. Such things were her trademark when blending into society as a creature of the night. "If your mouth continues to hurt. I do know some unconventional methods of numbing pain." She was unsure if it would show with how solid her eyes had become but she combined a slight hint of bedroom eyes when she mentioned the pain relief. The playful wink that followed was played off as a jest but it was crucial into drawing the tower's focus in on just her. This was a dangerous courting. "Come come!" She turned on her heel and began fast walking towards their destination.

User Image1" was plenty to be easily shorter. Ahem. Yes. And that trip across town wasn't too bad or anything. Mhm. Mhm.

Jean's head turned at Shea's voice, barely enough to see Shea, and it turned back to face Hono again even as he stepped to the side to make way for the deer boy to step up. He silently reconsidered as Shea finished his greeting, eyes once again appraising the softly cut features of Hono's face and the gentle lines of his attire. He felt slightly reluctant now that he had made the offe. Not because he felt Hono would be a liability, but because it would be a right shame if something happened to him while outside. Granted, these doubts were something that had already passed his mind once before, and so they were quick to pass now. No one could live without some threat of damage in their lives, and Jean wasn't intending anything dangerous with this outing.

Well, he didn't have much of a plan, admittedly, but still. No plan also meant no danger planned.

Still, like when Shea gave his answer at first, Jean's pride got in the way of keeping things easy and simple. His eyes narrowed and his chin tilted down in apparent, if only slightly signed, displeasure. However, he didn't say anything. Unlike Shea, who he had somewhat firm grounds to believe that the deer was simply agreeing to be nice, he didn't have such solid grounds for the same argument with Hono. It simply felt like Hono was only agreeing because he wanted to be helpful.

After that small show of disgruntlement, the sour-tempered artisan huffed in annoyance at his inability to pursue it any further from a rational standpoint and moved on. "Since we have all agreed, then I suppose we're ready to go," he announced. Though, his actions did not say "go" at the moment. Instead of moving, he had opened his bag and, with minimal shuffling, taken out a neatly folded scarf from the almost impossibly neat array of contents within the storage unit. A pair of gloves even lay picturesque on top of the folded scarf. "A token of my appreciation," Jean gave this excuse as he held out the items to Hono.

Scarf and gloves were both of the most basic make and materials, being only tier 1, but the delicate embroidery on both articles and the less noticeable effort put into the sewing that put them together, belied their masterwork quality. While basic, these two pieces of clothing were a little bit more special. Too common to bother keeping for long. Too well made to feel comfortable simply pawning off. For the same reason, Jean didn't like wearing anything of particularly good craftsmanship that could also be torn and ripped, which was why he preferred simply giving it away, and if he was going to give it to anyone, someone like Hono was at the top of his list.

Jean wouldn't budge until Hono accepted the items, but once the gifts were accepted, he didn't waste any more time in turning away and taking the lead out of the academy.

On the way to the gates, he'd ask Shea after walking quite a bit in quiet thought, "You said something about a cave or a tunnel earlier? We might as well start there. Could you lead us?". He knew hardly anything but Shea and Hono, the former because he was too scared to approach and the latter because the only connection he had was admiration for his beauty. However, no matter what craft one practiced, chances were, something of interest could be found in a cave.

Honō immediately bows where appropriate in receiving the greeting from Shea, his long, white,
lockes trailing down over his shoulders and blending in with the white of his clothing. "An honour to
meet you, Shea-san. I am at your disposal." And with that, Honō straightens with a small, polite,
smile and slightly lowered moss-green eyes trained on Fal'nevan's cheeks. And with that focus, it
would have been expected for the Hari Clan member to not have witnessed Jean's slight worry of
distress crossing his features. How his chin tucked down, beautiful, gem-like blue eyes narrowing.
Honō, however, just did nothing to outwardly signal that he noticed. It wan't his place. Even at the
huff. Honō nodded at the call to leave, but did not move, not daring to take a step in front of either of
them. Nor risk getting in their way. Instead, he waited, hands clasped gently in front of him.

"A token of my appreciation," Honō startled, unsuspecting of the items being produced
were meant for him. But his body was well trained; he took the items with a lowered head and
both hands after a respectful pause.

"My deepest gratitude, Jean-san." Honō spoke with a tinge of wonder in his voice. His hands could
feel the quality of the material - and their practicality was very appreciated. Jean, however, had
taken off almost as soon as Honō had accepted the gift. So he pulled on the items and followed.
