Now if I was a betting man, which I'm not (you should see me lose money at the casino), I'd bet that a magic user would use a hell of a lot of energy during the day. So perhaps not be physically tired but energy starved and emotionally drained. Let's try a menu for energy and stamina. We'll think of this a 'hearty tavern meal' over a 'on the road with the party' meal. Though perhaps if one of the party was a good enough cook...
First Course - Butternut Squash Soup and Fresh Green Salad *Squash is high in vitamins and minerals. Easy to digest, high in fiber and orange is a dietary necessity for healthy weight. Most recipes will also add onion and some kind of sweet pepper. *Dark greens are best with a light vinaigrette. I like red leaf lettuce, arugula and spinach with perhaps some carrot shavings for color and red onion for a little zing. Other greens and veggies cane be added. Cherry tomatoes are very popular and terribly healthy, always good to have red in the diet. Endive and kale are probably good additions/substitutions.
Second Course - Nut Crusted Fish *Pictured is Walnut Crusted Salmon. I think personally salmon would be the optimal fish for this dish but I can see it being just a healthy and hearty with a lighter white fish. Nuts provide lean protein and healthy fats, both beneficial to recoup muscles and renew neural pathways. Fish is high in protein, high in nutrients and, low in calories. A perfect food really. *Pictured this meal is searved with green beans. I also think brussel sprouts, brocolli, snow or snap peas, or zucchini would go well. Definitely serve with a green vegetable for needed vitamins and complimentary flavor.
Desert - Banana Chocolate Boats *Potentially baked over the hearth fire by our warlock herself since they're supremely easy. Bananans are said to be a perfect food, especially if you're an athlete. Which I'd tend to think you are if are if you're flinging around magic all day. Chocolate helps the mind, body and soul. Win, win.
To Drink *Rasberry Wine, it's actually great for you since it's full of antioxidants.

First raid the nearest village or farm to gather your supplies.
Drink/Appetizer -Look for anything alcoholic. After a pillaging it's nice to relax with something fortified. Poor them in a large goblet and enjoy while you cook. Make sure not to drink too much though, at least till your dinners started.
Meal -Get a fire started and place a large caste iron (or other fire resistant large pot) directly over the flames. Add water half way up. -Vegetables and vegetable like fruits. While no one really likes them they are necessary so make sure and add a handful or two. Dice them into small bits so you don't taste them. Throw it into the pot. -Root plants. If you got your hands on some potatoes or onions your in for a special treat. Chop them into large chunks and add them in. -Meat, the fresher the better. If it's still alive, make sure and kill it before butchering or cooking. Screaming food isn't as fun as you'd think. Cut it into 1 or 2 inch squares. Make sure and remove any bones, hair, fur or skin during this process. Guts and blood are optional. Throw them in and stir. -Sit back and enjoy your drink for an hour or two, serve and enjoy.
