Another room similar to the last. It seemed different somehow, though....more menacing. The vespercat in Eywa's arms hunkered down further and made a low, unhappy growl as its glowing eyes darted around. "There there, darling, don't worry. I won't let anything happen to you." Their voice was calm and soothing as they talked to the vesper, noticing its attention was suddenly drawn somewhere. Following its gaze, Eywa turned to look at the cauldron and watched as it bubbled bigger and bigger...and formed some kind of figure. The vespercat hissed, Eywa gently clutching the familiar to their chest. "Oop, and I'm about to make good on that promise! Time to exit stage left!" That wasn't entirely accurate, however, as they turned and quickly dashed out a door to the south.

Ayuu stopped short a few feet into the next room, sending Ellis stumbling into zer back.
"Sorry! Sorry."
The grimm was still quite flustered, but ze turned a small smile on Ellis anyway, zer face still coated with gore. "It's not your fault."
"You can use my shirt to clean up?" He smiled down at zer, a tender, oblivious smile that was rudely interrupted by another pie and a burst of laughter from Bo. "AAAYYUUGHGHHGHHHUH! It's in my mouth!"

This hadn't been his idea. In no way, shape, or form would he go into a house which was suspiciously decrepit and ominous, even if it was just a haunted house created by normal nightmares. That's what got people killed or in danger. He wasn't about danger. His ideal life was with Marique, inside their small little apartment, playing a few games. Watching him work. Not going into an unstructurally sound building for the thrill. Prosper raised him better than that.
Yet Marique was his Achilles heel. And so here he was.
It wasn't like he was scared though. On the contrary, his eyes looked about the room with disdain. It did look pretty dirty. Did they even clean before inviting people in? Was this on purpose? It didn't look scary, just grimy.
Real life was much more boring than any of the games that he played. Horror games were far better than this house.
Promise was starting to regret going in. This wasn't going to be fun. That was, until he felt a tug on his hand. His blue eyes traveled towards his boyfriend, initially curious. But what he saw in him was something else. Was that fear? The hybrid's hand tightened around his lover's, giving him a feeble, yet confident smile. "Alright. I-I'll protect you." It was a bold statement, not something that he was used to making. The arm that was holding Mariques hand moved to snugly wrap around his middle. W-Would that help Marique's nerves? Oh dear, he hoped that he was going to be okay....

As Zelig turns to find out what made him so jumpy, the hairs on the back of his neck began to stand up and goosebumps on his arms. Shrugging his shoulders to try to relieve the tension that gripped him he muttered under his breath about clowns and the like. Suddenly he spies a door, something creepy about it but nonetheless it was a way out of this creepy inner sanctium!
Taking a step into the what he thought was a new room he looks around and screeches "CLOWNS AGAIN? SERIOULSY?" as he kicks some kind of furniture that resembled a clown fire truck. Pain radiated in his toes to his ankle and he cried out. "Why did I come in here? Cop senses is why, I know something is going on in here and I just had to come in. Now I am getting my just desserts!" he snarled at the walls. His eyes narrowed he spied blood all over the floor as he bent down to investigate a large horn blast sounded causing him to shoot straight up and slip in that blood landing on his behind. 'CLOWNS LEAVE ME ALONE! I WILL GET YOU AND YOUR LITTLE RED NOSE TO! as he struggled to get up he was suddenly covered in confetti. Raising his eyes to the ceiling he noticed it was as if the ceiling was showering it on him out of spite and of course they threw in a few surprise, fingers! One hit him in the eye and another sorta got stuck in his nose making him freak out and jump about like there was a snake trying to bite him.

Roshan came to a rather quick halt when they remembered this was all set up to be scary. There was nothing in here to be actually afraid of. They caught their breath while going back to examining the room. Roshan decided to check out the jars this time even though most of the fillings made them uncomfortable. They stared at one jar that was full of white balls for some reason. Maybe they were supposed to be the kidneys of some creature but was actually tennis balls or something... Then the balls turned to stare at Roshan. It was a jar full of eyes.
Although not scared, Roshan was startled enough to jump back. They glared at the eyes before finding the South door and leaving the stupid room.

Kavi keeps slogging through the junk that seems to have accumulated in this room, feeling like an acrobat as he maneuvers around piles of books and scrolls and loose parchment, ducking to avoid things hanging from the ceiling. As Kavi ducks, once again, he spots a loose parchment on top of a pile. The runes on it seem to entice him to continue staring, burning themselves into his vision. Kavi shakes his head and blinks his eyes to clear his sight, he needs to continue on. This door over here to the south looks kind of interesting and creepy. It gives him the heebie-jeebies but Kavi shrugs and heads for it anyways. Maybe he’ll get lucky.

6: One of the dolls falls to the floor, twisting its left leg as it lands. Your own leg suddenly seizes up in agony, and then, just like that, the pain is gone again.
Xenia walked with a bit more trepidation into the next room, frowning when it looked like much more the same. Whatever was bubbling in the cauldron smelled acrid, burning her nose with the scent. She sneezed, and despite how careful she was trying to be, an edge of her wing caught the shelf, knocking something off and...
Pain, once again. She toppled to the ground with a thud. And even though the sensation faded quickly, she lay there a moment or two longer before pulling herself back to her feet. This place wasn't a regular haunted house attraction. She wrapped her wings and arms around herself, hurrying quickly towards the door. She needed to get out of her as soon as possible.

Sathe rolled his eyes at Rutta's suggestion that he liven up, certain that he was up to no good. He turned to make sure the chimera wasn't setting him up for something, bumping into a table in the process. The sound of a book falling took him by surprise, but for some reason the spirits didn't really phase him, something seemed off about the howls too.
"Why'd you pick this place anyway?" He picked the book up off the floor, closed it, and then opened it in Rutta's face, watching the same spirits and sound effect wash over his rival. "Doesn't really seem your style." Once the howls died down, he tossed the book back onto the table where it probably came from.
The obvious choice was to continue through the room, but he made sure to check the room first. It seemed like a simply box that was carefully decorated. He knocked on one of the walls, which sounded just like any normal wall, despite the wallpaper that gave it a wood finish. Shrugging slightly, he headed on through the door to continue on into the haunted house.

Vicious Clown Parlour
Carnival tunes fill the air, intermittently broken by a hushed, shrill giggling. The walls have been dressed to resemble the interior of a circus tent, and the furniture replaced with clownish appliances that squeak, wobble, and honk. You notice a spattering of blood across the checked floor near your feet.

Witch's Foul Lair
It takes some time for your eyes to adjust to the dim light of candles. A dewy fog carpets the floor, seemingly coming from a bubbling cauldron in the corner. Bones and stuffed dolls hang from the ceilings, the walls lined with jars of eyeballs, tongues, and other indistinguishable horrors. You have to be careful to avoid knocking over dusty book piles and torn parchments.

Dark Hall
A long hallway stretches before you… or at least you have to assume as much. The corridor is so dark you cannot so much as make out what is right in front of you. All magic spells fizzle, and all traditional methods of light fail. The glowing marks that occasionally appear on the walls are your only landmarks.
North: An ominous door. East: The way is blocked. South: Continue. West: The way is blocked.

Zeerah was growing impatient with this room - even though he'd barely done more than a cursory look - and felt as though all the keys must have already been taken. Annoyed with his lack of luck, he carelessly bumped into one of the rickety tables, sucking some air through his teeth with a wince as one of the dried-in-coffee-and-slightly-burnt-to-look-old-books fell to the ground. He let out a small grunt of frustration, about to move away when he heard a howling from the ground. Quickly swivelling his head to look at the open tome, he watched, dumbfounded, as half a dozen glowing spirits grew in size as they erupted from the pages... before dissipating into the air. The boy simply stared unblinking for a few moments, before shaking his head and turning towards the door. "Pretty decent effects, huh Soot?" He mumbled to the vespercat, wondering if he'd ever heard of such a specific illusion.

Eywa managed to dodge the strange cauldron ooze monster, only to have ended up in a rather ridiculously dark hallway. They couldn't have seen their own nose on their face if they tried, it was THAT dark. Hoping to catch their bearings, they tried to form a light spell....but it fizzled out? What kind of room was this that seemed to cancel out magic? The hybrid was starting to feel rather unsettled. "I don't like this place, Soot. It's like....a void.." Eywa looked down in the direction where they thought the vespercat was in their arms and felt relieved to see the glow of their eyes looking back up at them. Only then did they notice that they could also see the luminescence of their own geist essence; thank goodness. "Come on up in here, darling. It'll be safer for you so that I don't risk dropping you. They gently encouraged Soot, the now-named vespercat, to climb into their hood and curl around the back of their neck. It would be far easier to keep track of them this way. Knowing full well they couldn't just stand there, they stepped forward and began to notice glowing marks starting to appear on the walls as they moved. Eywa considered their options and realized that, unless they wanted to turn around and face some kind of ooze monster, forward was their only alternative.....so forward they went (or at least hoping they were going forward, as directed by the marks that appeared.)
