Skysong's ears flicked as more cats filtered back into the gorge. One of them in particular caused her to turn her head. "Ah, Pidgeonpaw, there you are." The older she-cat shifted from her perch and landed deftly beside her apprentice. She had been so lost in thought about Sunseer that she hadn't heard the small cat's decision, "I was thinking, for the expedition to our new home, I would like for you to travel along side Goldenleaf. She's going to need assistance and I think between the two of us, we can keep her safe and fed." She gave her apprentice a small, determined smile, but it fell once she noticed Pidgeonpaw's hesitation, "What's wrong, Pidgeonpaw?"

Dawnbreak blinked at that statement and was silent a moment. "Thats a very big decision." She wasnt trying to be condescending just making a statement. She thought for a moment and then looked back to pigeonpaw. "Camp will be fine, and hopefully.... sad as it may be... we wont ever need to come back.... " She nodded though. "Sunclan will be anywhere that there is a cat that believes in them are..." She flicked her tail. "If you stay they will stay with you.... Though it will be a tireless journey for them dont you think? Having to run between the clan and you?" She glanced up and blinked warmly at her sister. But then looked to Skysong. She greeted her respectfully and listened as she spoke glancing to Pigeonpaw. "PigeonPaw is trying to see the path that SunClan has laid out for her." She flicked her tail across the apprentices shoulder and then stood to excuse herself. "Just know.... I think you are brave PigeonPaw... No matter what you chose...." She nodded again to Skysong and left so the apprentice could fill in her mentor.

Dice 1- Splitnose Dice 2: Stormsong Graypaw could barely hold herself still as Sunseer gave the prophesy from SunClan. So cool! What did it mean though? Chase the river? How were they supposed to do that? The river was gone. Oooo they could chase it to where it went now.
"But we don't know how far away it went Goldenleaf," she meowed at her mentor. Her mentor who was now with kits. A long journey would be hard and dangerous. "Don't worry! I'll help protect you!" She puffed up her chest to look dependable.
Graypaw rubbed back against her sister. "We'll find more food and make sure we're bigger pieces." She nodded encouragingly. Graypaw gave a purr as Goldenleaf went to help herself to the piece of fresh kill being shared around. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Graykit woke from her doze as she heard Sunseer calling MountainClan once more. It was time to go. She was a bundle of nerves and her fur fluffed out. Her pale green eyes watched as the other cats once more gathered around.
Splitnose wrinkled his nose. Couldn't they have come up with something better? Ugh really. Who would want to be pieces? Certainly not him. Well mostly certain. He listened to those talking around him. Sunseer wasn't wasting time though. They'd be leaving at Sun-high. He looked around the familiar landscape. In a way he'd miss it, and in a way he wouldn't.
Splitnose rose to his paws to get himself ready. He'd finish his sleep then hunt in the morning. The tom headed back into the den. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He'd slept well. So well in fact, he'd managed to catch two scrawny mice to bring back. It would be a good start to the trip. Splitnose set the mice down proudly and stepped back for others more in need to eat.
Stormsong sat quietly, his eyes narrowed. His thoughts he kept quietly to himself. He glanced towards Silverstreak as she yowled. She'd accepted they were leaving pretty quickly. Without familiar territory, protecting the queens, kits, and paws would be a lot of work.
Sun-high would come soon. He glanced at his siblings. It seemed to come as a hard blow to Duskwing. "See Duskwing eats Silverstreak. That one owl won't be enough for everyone. I'm going out to see if I can add more and make it a feast." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He'd gone out hunting, but had returned with nothing. Stormsong was impressed that Splitnose had managed to make a catch. He padded up to join Silverstreak. "I hope Sunseer knows where we're going."

Dawnbreak spoke of how the clan would not have to come back here. But she did not want to leave here. Pigeonpaw was in a rut. It looked like everyone else was willing to move. She would be the only one here. And the warrior was right. Sunclan would have to travel to and fro to communicate with one another. Imagine how tiresome the ancestors would be.
'But someone would be taking care of home...' she thought. This camp was home, even if Dawnbreak did not see it that way. This was the only place Pigeonpaw knew. Even if it was suffering. She sighed when Skysong approached the group, grateful that the warrior did not spill anything to her mentor. It was the last words that stuck out. "Th-thank you..." She wanted to be brave, and she thought she was. 'What if I'm actually just being really dumb though? She was right. Sunclan is anywhere we are. Even if home is no longer going to be home. She would remember Dawnbreak.
Now alone with her mentor, the apprentice felt even smaller. It seemed Skysong already made plans for them. To travel beside Goldenleaf. The pregnant cat. It seemed reasonable. Pigeonpaw liked to learn about things, and she could learn more about Goldenleaf if they were travelling companions. And that she could impress the queen with her somewhat underaverage hunting skills!
And then Skysong noticed the reservation in the apprentice. Pigeonpaw drew her face away, trying to hide herself. She felt shameful. Skysong was a well-respected warrior, and she looked up to her. "I don't think I can... go..." The apprentice froze up, not knowing how to explain. [/size[
///considering how she's the only one who wants to stay, I'm going to have her join the clan, but her spirits are going to be broken. potential growth/character development here?///

Skysong's eyes, normally cold flecks of ice, melted as she saw her apprentice struggling. "This must be so hard for you," She sighed softly, sitting down beside Pigeonpaw, watching as more cats began to gather, "The other young ones, too. All you've knows is dust and death.""Our home was once beautiful. Lush, filled with green and the sound of kits. We were strong, well fed, undefeated. We were safe." She looked down to her apprentice, "This place is not our home any more. It no longer protects us. You are not safe here... None of us are."She paused for a heavy moment, "I don't want to go either. This gorge is all I have ever known. But look at them Pigeonpaw," She gestured to the gathering cats, all of them skin and bones, the air smelled of fear, of death, "If I chose to stay here, that is one more able body not there to help them. And right now, I think they need all the help they can get. Don't you?"xKOVAKtheWOLFx I can respect that. I'm sorry no one else wanted to stay, it would have been interesting to see what would have happened. But now I am super curious to see how Pidgeonpaw grows in her new home! Character growth is always a plus. :3

As the two toms returned to camp, Thorncoat offered Dawnstride a gracious nod and a fleeting smile. The company had been pleasant, and it was good to bid farewell to their home with fellow warrior at his side.
"Thank you," he bid Dawnstride placidly "Maybe we'll wander more quiet paths when we find them."
Thorncoat and Dawnstride had since returned, having paid their final respects to the well worn mountainside, their home of countless seasons and generations. It was inhospitable now, unable to support the creatures that tread these grounds. No water, no fish. It simply wasn't sustainable.
Alas, what would MountainClan be without its mountain?
The Clan formly known as MountainClan? Ha, far too long.
Would they find a new mountain, tread new peaks and ridges? Another cliff to welcome and embrace them? It was any cat's guess where they would wind up from here. Sunseer could bring word from SunClan, but it would be up the remnants of MountainClan to make the journey now. Should they have not seen signs before SunClan saw fit to speak? their clanmates were dropping around them and they'd seen fit to cling to their rocks, but what was their gorge now? Dried and dusty and barren in a way it should never have been. How long was it since the river died and this place had grown into an unwelcoming home, practically begging them to leave?
Thorncoat hummed lightly at his own sobering train of thought.
It wasn't that long before Sunseer was summoning the clan to rally once more. The sun was high and their time was up.
Surveying the gathered cats, Thorncoat observed his clan. Goldenleaf seemed well attended to, and the hesitant apprentices were being fussed over in mild tones. Warriors still breathed shared their concerns, but there was no yelling now, just a sense of tense anticipation. Thorncoat hoped that they would see this to the other side, wherever that may be Anderleit for Dawnstride mention at start

While his sight was gone, the clan leader could still hear the mutterings of doubt that spread through out his warriors. The scent of fear rolled over his tongue as he opened his mouth, just detectable under the scent of decay and dust. "MountainClan, we have a long journey ahead of us. I trust you all to work as a group, trust one another so that we may arrive safely." He sat in silence for a moment, letting it sink in that they really were leaving. "We were told to chase the river. The river itself is gone, but it's trail still lives. I say we follow the river bed until it meets up with the Great River down south."He raised his voice, giving others a chance to voice their own opinions, "Does anyone have any other ideas?"
Skysong gave Pigeonpaw one comforting lick between her ears before rising to stand with her leader. She leapt back to the small ridge below the top High Stones, and looked over the cats that gathered. Her mind had been made as soon as Sunseer had spoken, but what of these other cats? She shook her head, "South sounds right to me."

Dawnbreak padded by splitnose and gave him an appreciative look. "Good catch!" how rewarding to have the extra prey. She gently sat next to him, just taking comfort from him where her body was a tense ball of nerves. She didnt eat anything, afterall there were more needy cats but she looked over to pigeonpaw, she hoped the apprentice would come along... this was a dangerous place now... and while it could maybe... maybe support one cat... PigeonPaw was still young, what would happen if a badger showed up? She listened to Sunseer's words and looked around. Yes. They would work as a group. She shook her head though. "If you think south, Sunseer... then i think south..." She would follow their leader. He gave up his sight for the clan... she wished she could be that loyal.
Bloodoath, ignored for the most part, kept his position near sunseer. The only other option was to go north. But the twolegs had stolen the water and there was no place for a clan of their size to live near the twolegs. He dipped his head. "South toward the main river... I think thats the only option for what sunclan had in mind." He nodded and stood. Sunseer was a great leader, though bloodoath did think he asked too many questions. "If we leave now then we probably will be able to find somewhere to camp out by the river for the night...." He looked to sunseer and while he knew that the leader had jumped down from this ledge countless times, he hadnt really done it blind. He gently ran his tail across Sunseer's shoulder as he jumped down to give the other tom an estimate on how far to go. He headed toward the entrance of camp. He was ready... he wanted to get where they were going and settle in... He glanced to Goldenleaf, waiting and ready to head out.

Silverstreak watched her family gather. Seeing the way that her sisters were looking at certain tomcats made her smile, happy that they may have found extra support. She looked to her brother, Stormsong and gave him a wary smile. She had her brother to look to, though she wondered that if he were ever to find a she-cat, who she would turn to after that.
She tried not to frown at the thought of having no one, including her family, to talk to, if they started to match up with other cats. As if the thought of leaving her camp, regardless of how necessary it was, wasn't scary enough. She let out a sigh and then turned to Sunseer.
"South sounds like as good a place to start as any!" She remarked, loudly enough for others to hear her input, as well as their leader. Dustfeather had walked with Duskwing, glancing around at his Clanmates and at the camp they were leaving. He gulped down rising emotions. He had to be strong for everyone. At the notion of going south, he glanced to Duskwing again, before his eyes moved back to the cats that were vocally agreeing. It seemed they would be leaving very soon. If only they could take the camp with him.
SunClan, watch over us. He thought. And let our successors forget not from where we came, whenever we reach our new lands.

Sunseer waited patiently, nodding in agreement as the rest of the clan voiced their shared opinion. "Alright, south it is. MountianClan, let's find our new home." The leader of the once strong clan of wild cats stepped backwards, teetering slightly as he attempted to slowly make his way down the steep rock face. He still wasn't sure how he was going to lead these cats when he could barely lead himself, but he knew he had to try. SunClan wouldn't have left them with a useless leader, right? ...He sure hoped so. Skysong leapt down one last time from her perch and approached her apprentice with a soft new. "Pigeonpaw, come on. Let's go care for Goldenleaf."The older white she-cat let some of her clan mates pass before stepping through the group, her ice colored eyes searching out the pregnant female. Her pears perked up as she saw her golden pelt and, looking back to make sure Pigeonpaw was following, she walked over. "Goldenleaf, hello. Pigeonpaw and I would like to travel with you, if you don't mind." Skysong gave the she-cat an encouraging smile. After all, she had to do her best to keep everyone clam and steady.

Bloodoath nodded at sunseer's order to move out. He glanced to Goldenleaf, she would be well taken care of as Skysong was pulling pigeonpaw to walk beside her. Plus with him in lead and the rest of the clan behind... she would be protected. Bloodoath flicked his tail in a signal to move out, It would be presumptuous and a bit forward of Bloodoath, but someone needed to lead the way into the unknown. And their leader was blind... he sure as sunclan couldnt do it.... It would be up to their Deputy... which they didnt have one of those, so bloodoath was stepping up. He had been a strong and powerful tom as one time, and even in his starved state he was a strong cat. He led the way out. Coming up over a rocky ridge he pulled himself up to watch the clan file out. He couldnt imagine if their elders were still alive. How would they find a new home... But all that were left were the cats that had a will to survive. He watched until the last cats had left the entrance of their old home.... It was official... they were homeless. He glanced over the black cat that was their leader... "If you can... travel with a partner... it will make the trip easier.... and it will make sure we all stay together...If you start falling behind your partner will be able to notice possibly before i- anyone else notices..." he would have ended there but he looked to their leader... who still deserved at least the respect the position required. "Right Sunseer?" Dawnbreak narrowed her eyes at Bloodoath as he flicked his tail to head out. Pompous furball. She looked back over to Sunseer and saw him wobble a bit. Making a choice she nuzzled up to Splitnose really quick. "Ill find you in a bit?" Afterall she was sure to travel with multiple cats on the journey. She trotted to Sunseer's side. She dipped her head and spoke as she walked over. "Did sunclan tell you anything about the home we are to find?" She sounded curious but only conversational, not panicked, she gently pressed her pelt to their leader's, just gently touching, looking like she was maybe walking a bit close but otherwise natural. "I know we are leaving but if you dont mind walking with me i wanted to talk to you about possibly implementing a new way of hunting..." She laughed a bit, just a bit nervous, this was her leader afterall, "No... I dont think its a ThornCoat idea.... But i tried catching one of those mountain sheep... one of their babies... im sure i could have gotten it if it was a hunting party going after it instead of just me...." She kept jabbering... Sunseer was a smart cat he would probably be able to figure out she was by him not to talk about hunting sheep they may never see again. Goldenleaf had kept to herself, although she caught the glance Bloodoath sent her, ears flicking upward with interest. She was about to pad up to the male when she heard a familiar voice, head snapping over to look at Skysong and Pigeonpaw with interest. The offer came unexpected, and frankly for a moment unwelcomed, but the relief hit after the frustration washed over. They weren't considering her weak -- which was a fear she had felt the moment the offer was given -- and instead were offering her a moment to rely on someone. Goldenleaf didn't want to be in charge right that moment. She didn't want to walk alone, either. She was scared and felt more exposed with each day her stomach grew. She knew what she was -- a liability and a cat at risk.
She was petrified what this journey would do to her and the children.
"I wouldn't mind, if you don't find my slow and stumbling walk unbecoming." A slight hint of humor rested in her voice as she gave a rare smile, something she hadn't offered much recently due to stress.
Littlepaw struggled with the bundle of medicines in her mouth, although she kept her head high. It was time to move out, it seemed. She chanced a glance back at her home -- incorrect, her old home -- and swallowed back any hesitation that lurked in her throat. She had promised her clan her loyalty and perseverance, she couldn't back down now.
For a moment she paused, hoping to feel Dovetail's presence or something to keep her strength going, although she knew she wasn't at a stage where that was likely. She needed to do this on her own. Find her own strength. Sunclan already had given her their gift, and now the medicine-cat apprentice had to prove her own merit and worth.open for rp Anyone can interact with her!

Graypaw wiggled her way through the crowd of cats on the way to her destination, her mentor. She waved to Skysong and Pigeonpaw as she joined up with the group forming around the pregnant queen. "Isn't this exciting!? We'll get to see all new things. Think of the stories we'll be able to tell."
Splitnose purred and puffed out his chest just a bit when Dawnbreak noted his meager catch. "You should have one." He meowed encouragingly. The tom groomed her shoulder a couple times to calm her. He's never been one great for making choices. Splitnose just nodded along with the others as they talked about South.
He followed her gaze toward the wobbling leader and nodded. "If you need help, call." He tried to figure out where he should take his place in line. By the time he'd reached a decision, he was already at the tail end. Splitnose shrugged and feel in towards the rear.
Stormsong didn't like the way Sunseer was acting. Something was off and it unsettled him. It hadn't occurred to him yet that the old tom was blind. He frowned, wondering how long a journey they now faced. Couldn't SunClan give them some better idea?
He couldn't fault Sunseer's plan for following the river bed. The only other direction option open to them was to go upstream. He rose to his paws to call out. "You said the two-legs trapped the water behind their walls. Does that mean we should go upstream instead to find the water they trapped?" The gray tom had no idea what two-legs could possibly do with so much water.
"Yes! You should pick a deputy before we leave! Perhaps two." Stormsong glanced aside and muttered to himself, "just in case." He shuffled his feet as it the settled upon direction was decided to be South. Guess he'd never learn what the two-legs would want with all that water.
A flame pelted tom sat alone at the edge of the clearing. Slowly he cleaned a paw as he listened to the chatter, discontent, and worry. He didn't say anything, for he had nothing to add. Flamepelt watched the others as they formed up into their groups to begin the journey. After a moment he got up and wandered over to Littlepaw, who he'd noticed trying to carry herbs. "Do you want some help?" He offered causally.

Sunseer slowly made his way through the throng of cats, apologizing every time he tread a tail or bumped into one of his clan mates. He sighed heavily. This wasn't going to work. Maybe... His ears pricked forward as a tom clambered forward. He parted his jaw and scented that it was Bloodoath. He was such a proud tom, maybe one day... "A good idea, Bloodoath." He acknowledged, "and yes, Dawnbreak, I would much appreciate that, thank you." And he did appreciate it. Dawnbreak was a good cat and he was glad to see her stepping up. Then, he raised his voice, "Cats of MountainClan, please travel with at least one other cat. We must stay together, lean on one another when you need help. We must keep strong." His unseeing eyes scanned over his clan, "Apprentices stay with your mentors. And, one last thing, before we leave..."He took a moment, weighing the stone that sat in his heart where his love for Morningsky burned. He couldn't wait any longer, it was time, "MoutainClan, I apologize for waiting until the last moment. It is my duty to make sure you are all cared for and I was putting my feelings first. It is time I named the new Deputy." He stood tall, his tail raised high, his ears forward, "I say these words before SunClan so that they may hear and approve of my choice. Skysong will be the new Deputy of MountainClan."For a moment, a brief and precious moment, he swore taste Morningsky's scent on his tongue. Skysong purred at the she-cats's smile. She was glad that Golden didn't feel weak. If anything, she alone was the most important cat in the clan. After all, she carried with her the next generations of clan cats, ones that would not know the pain and suffering they had experienced. Hopefully. "Not at all, Goldenleaf." Her tailed whipped behind her, amused, as Graypaw arrived. She turned to speak to the young apprentice, when suddenly Sunseer began to address the clan. "...Me? Deputy?" She blinked her blue eyes before giving a nod to the small group and made her way over to their leader. She was surprised, of course. Skysong hadn't expected to be made Deputy. As she walked up to Sunseer and pressed her forehead against his, she said, "As you wish, Sunseer. I will do my best to assist you."She stepped away from him, her tail held high, her stomach full of butterflies and looked toward the cats before her. Her cats, one day. Skysong walked through them, finding Bloodoath. She looked over the male. He was strong, and a good fighter. She was glad to have him up front with her, "Come," she said, flicking her tail to signal the clam to move out. "Follow the river bed, do not stray from the group." She smiled at the tom beside her, "Let's go find out new home." Morningsky kept close to her mate, watching him with her own unseeing eyes as he stumbled and faltered. It broke her heart what they had to do. But that was the way of SunClan. She pressed herself agaisnt him, wishing so hard that he could just feel her, know that she was there and that she supported him. When he called out Skysong's name, she lifted her voice to the sky and yowled her approval. There was no malice held in the she-cat's heart. Skysong would lead them well. Dovetail was there, watching as Littlepaw gathered what she could, silently guiding her to the most important of herbs. "I'm here, Littlepaw," Her voice was unheard, she knew, but in her heart, she hoped that the apprentice knew that she would be there no matter what. Dovetail was a loyal cat who would never leave her clan to die, even when she herself had already passed.

Goldenleaf wish she had Pigeonpaw's excitement. She had just been telling Bloodoath they ought to move the clan, but she hadn't expected it so soon. Then again, ask her a few months ago and you'd find she never expected any of this, honestly.
"I only hope the travel is fast and safe," she hummed back, tail lashing softly. Her attention was soon summoned by Sunseer, and then shortly after directed at Skysong. "Congratulations," she mewled, although as Skysong slipped past her heart sunk. She had just felt comforted by how Skysong had chosen to walk with her, although she understood. Her attention shifted elsewhere, nodding at Pigeonpaw.
"I need to find Graypaw," she absently noted, eyes lost to the crowd until a familiar figure was spotted. Tiredly, the pregnant she-cat lifted herself and padded towards Graypaw, brushing against her. "I believe you should join Pigeonpaw and I."
Littlepaw slightly jumped as she heard someone join her side, dropping the herbs. Her ears pinned back as she began to pick them up, pausing at the offer given to her. Oh yes, she'd love help.
"Yes please, I think I bit off more than I can chew." She smiled up at Flamepelt, nudging the pile in half. She grabbed a leaf she had curled inside her own life sling and nudged it to Flamepelt, indicating he should wrap his herbs to help carry them.
"Thank you, Flamepelt."
