Cynthia Desjardins

Cynthia had gone around to look at the main hall some more, but it was just… kind of boring. Maybe I just don’t like these events about media? She thought as she continued to circle around more, hoping that perhaps she would see one of her friends hanging around or another classmate from school.

No one so far. She sighed and decided to go and get her wrist band and whatever else she needed to do to be able to wander through the convention. She was starting to really regret going by herself here and wondered if she should have just completely skipped it, after all, while she was into photography, she liked landscapes and nature portraits, not celebrities. She still wondered if she would be able to learn a bit more about photography here. After all, just because they were different subjects, she could still learn a thing or two!

She had wandered over to the information table to see what was there. There were some panels, something she had never gone to at any convention before. Honestly, they didn’t seem that interesting unless someone was really into that “celebrity”. But then again, she was the type of person who didn’t even know the individual names of band members. To be following specific celebrities and to just sit and see them was not… that appealing to her. [ But… I might as well try it right? Maybe there will be something there that I can actually get interested in or learn about. She pondered to herself as she made a note of when the panels started. She would go to Room One, since those seemed more interesting.

And then… then it was shopping time!

Sophia Thomas

She could feel the tips of her ears burning and her heart begin to race when she heard the deep voice call out to her. Sure, there was nothing exactly romantic about yoo soph but hearing his voice calling her name always did something to make her heart flutter.

Turning around towards the voice, a smile lit up her face just as she noticed the other girl following behind Austin.

Wait, they'd come together?

Oh.

There wasn't enough time for her smile to falter before the older girl was rushing forward to collect her in her arms. Sophie's poor mind was trying to process the nickname Austin had used on her (because as far as pet names went, it was a very odd one) but Catelyn Catigern's presence was definitely a distracting one. The giant hug quickly elicited a small squeak from the tiny girl.

"K-Katie! H-Hi."

There was an immediate flare of jealousy over how outgoing and confident the other woman was. Everywhere she went, events grew livelier and people grew happier - she was one of a kind and the knowledge she was far better than Sophie was at all of these things always stung, just a tad. Swallowing the bitterness like a pill, she did her best to put on a smile.

It wasn't Katie's fault that Sophie failed to be sociable. If anything, Katie was everything wonderful and kind - she never failed to include Sophie and always had the best hugs to offer.

No... it was all Sophie's doing that failed her and she couldn't help but feel bad for harboring such negativity towards such a bright and cheerful person.

"I-I'm glad you guys made it," she said quietly, doing her best to hug back despite the awkward butterflies in her stomach. Pulling back, she exchanged glances with both of her companions as she tried to tease gently, "I was almost afraid I-I'd be stuck at this thing by myself."

Events like this weren't normally her thing, this was something her elder cousin might like, but EunKyung was trying to get out more and do things around the city. That and she was hoping to maybe find some sort of gift for her cousin, something she could hold onto for Christmas, she was of the mind that doing her holiday shopping early was the best thing. It meant getting what she wanted and not having to worry about finding it, cost, or getting it in time (in the case of shipping).

Her hands flattened the sides of her dress, again, as she stepped into the exhibition hall. Dressed in a rather full skirt that was done in a dark blue color with soft blue, and white, feathers drifting down the fabric. The shirt was a matching dark blue and had ruffled sleeves and collar, which also had a bow that tied about her throat. All in all it was a rather dark, though not gothic, lolita look that girl was boasting. She knew it drew attention, it certainly did in school and in this city, it wasn't a style people wore around here but it was what she liked...and she would stick with it. She had thus far.

Ignoring the eyes on her she made her way amongst the vendors, taking looks here and there at things, she would thank people for compliments while trying her best to ignore the looks from others., her hands remained, mostly, at her sides as moved about checking out stalls for early Christmas gift ideas. She wanted to find things for her elder cousin, this was something Seung-hyung would like.

She stopped by some artists stalls, to see their art, but she couldn't think of anything he'd like. So she just looked, she didn't consider any of these stalls for gift ideas. Other stalls, ones with actual items, were stopped by and glanced over. Plushies and other sorts of dolls, and more, were looked over.

Maybe she really wouldn't find anything here for him?

Kelly Alexander: Gate Keeper/Weapon's Check (Manning the Front Entrance)
Kelly stood posted at the gates, watchful eyes searching for anything out of the ordinary or even those acting suspicious. Today was supposed to be a day of joy and wonder, so he hoped no one tried to sneak in anything that wasn't meant to be here. Giving a small sigh he ran his hand through his blonde hair and kept his gaze moving.

Nadia Ravenwood: Ticket Booth (Ticket Purchases)
Nadia was excited, she was getting older and was able to have more responsibilities. Like selling tickets. While it wasn't a HUGE thing, it was still something to show she was responsible so she was taking things where she could get them. Not that she was trying to grow up too quick or anything, she just really wanted her parents to know she was a responsible teenager now. Sitting at the booth she continued her little job of taking money and giving out tickets. Accalia wasn't far from her so that was nice!

Accalia Cordova: Ticket Booth (Will Call Tickets)
While volunteering was a good thing to do she had been feeling a little under the weather as of late so had picked the laziest job she could think of. Will call. All she had to do was verify someone was who they were and then give them their already paid for/won tickets. Easy enough right? Though, not that many were coming to the booth for will call so she was glad Nadia was there. She was like the little sister she never had.

Anastasia Harlock (arriving)
Approaching the ticket booth she handed her money towards Nadia and gave her a half smile, like she was saying 'alright I'm here can I have my ticket' kind deal. "Just one please." Her Russian accent wasn't as thick as it used to be when she was younger but it was still noticeable if one paid attention enough.

Austin Lynch

"Did you just call me a ********' tree?" Austin asked, whole body stopping so he could cast his short friend a glance which included a half frown before he was shaking his head and laughing. "Incredible. Well, just make sure your short leprechaun legs can keep up or I'll leave you behind."

He watched with that same easy going amusement as Katie promptly slid over to Sophie to try and hit on her.

Did Sophie even know that Katie was so gay she was almost too gay to function?

Probably not, because Sophie was smart af, but not exactly...aware.

"Told you we'd come," he replied with a shrug, sliding over to offer the girl a one armed hug before continue to stride forward. "Look I'm only reasonably late. Progress."

Beatrice Kellye

So far, not a single one of her dolls had managed to sell at the show.

Granted, they had absolutely little to do with the theme of the convention, but that hadn't deflated Bea's hopes and dreams at first... not until people kept passing by and passing by without so much as glancing at her shoddy little table. Sure, the display was... a little homely compared to some of the other vendors around her but what else was an eighteen year old supposed to do?

She couldn't afford fancy printed banners, she had to use posterboard and sharpies. If she could afford fancy printed banners, she wouldn't be here at the show trying to sell her plushies in the first place!!!!

Bound and determined to sell at least one of her morbid little monsters, Bea gathered a handful of the frankensteined toys into her arms and set off into the crowd, searching for random victims to (nicely) accost with her lack of salesman skills.

Right off the bat, she saw a girl who'd just purchased a ticket for the convention. Girls loved plushies - she was a girl, she loved plushies, so it made sense, right??? Of course it made sense - it was common logic skills, girls and plushies went together like... like...the phantom of the opera and his mask!!

"Hey!!!" She called out, digging through her spur-of-the-moment-mobile-collection and pulling out a teddy bear with a transplanted duck's head, "Ever seen one of these? HA, trick question - you couldn't have, because these are original!! Don't you want a one of a kind monster??"

Sunny Dyer
Stormy shifting closer helped, a little, but now that Sunny had started being acutely aware she wasn't sure how to stop. It wasn't panic, no, but it was something brittle-edged she didn't want to feel; not now, not never. Feeling good things was always better.

"Con prices on food are always high," she commented with a hint of sympathy, "I think they get their cues from Disney, probably? But it's usually best to bring snacks of your own if you're spending more than a few hours." With Winston's request, her smile adjusted, turned a little flinty; "it was hard to find, yes, but it's not for sale. No matter what your price range. It was a gift, and it'd be rude to give it away."

BRING IT ON wink

Nadia was pleased to see someone around her own age purchasing a ticket! Perhaps she'd get some free time to talk to her later, if she stuck around. Nadia took the money from Anna and handed her her ticket and change. "Here you go, enjoy!"

"Thank you." She said taking the items from the other girl and no sooner had she done so and walked a few feet that she was bombarded with strange things. "I..." not really able to answer back right away she watched as she was showed a number of things.

"Those.....are. Did you make them?" Curious to know more about the peculiar things this girl had.

The Main Hall had been filled with people coming and going all day and as the convention started to wind down it was no exception. Volunteers would find themselves busy with checking to make sure no one had slipped in without a ticket or badge and now they were busy making sure that no one got too rowdy when making their leave.

Or that they weren't running off with something they definitely shouldn't have been.

Once the hall emptied, they'd find themselves tasked with clean up duties.

((OOC: The convention has officially 'ended'! Please play as if things have winded down and your character is taking their leave. They may mill around, but will eventually be shooed out by the event staff

You may consider this your fin for this overarching thread or you may take your exits at your leisure.

Please remember it counts as one regular for requirements!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and everyone who made this possible including but not limited to:

Felyn for creating the three-part plot with me
Pach for doing all of my event graphics because she's a peach
Ghouli for proof reading so that I don't look like a fool with typos
Ami for creating these wonderful badges
Everyone who participated either in the music festival, sparks's concept contest, or in the convention!

I figure we can fade to black soon with either her denying interest or being intrigued enough to follow Bea back to her booth? <3

"Yes ma'am!"

Beatrice beamed proudly as she offered the girl another plushie to look at. This one was a cat who'd had its ears transplanted from that of a rabbit's and its tail that of a raccoon's (which was kind of a cat too, right?). "I call them Bea's Little Monsters. Or something like that - I haven't come up with an official official shop name, not until I figure out what the public wants."

And the public just so happened to be standing directly in front of her at that very moment. Only time would tell if the girl was happy or horrified with the products she was trying to sell... and Bea stood with bated breath as she waited for the result.

Sophia Thomas

Cheeks flushed as the tall boy leaned over to give her a partial hug. It was probably a good thing that he only half-hugged her, Sophie's poor heart was already beating wildly enough in her chest that a full one might have caused it to burst.

"Progress indeed," she conceded quietly, trying to remain as equally confident in her response as he was in his. True, he'd left her waiting more often than not when they met up - fifteen minutes was a drop in the bucket as far as she was concerned.

With that, she quietly made her way into the convention area, handing the ticket girl the free tickets she'd received from the mysterious and irritable voice over the phone before making her way into the growing crowd.
