Niko Hatake: Niko... Uchiha?! The Mysterious Red Eye!
Mood: Niko & Hisashi
As Niko left the warehouse, she saw a group surrounded by the harbor. One of the boats had dropped it's cargo. They were able to get most of it up, but they were still missing ten crates. Niko would offer her assistance.
Niko had been swimming since she was three. She jumped in easily and went down to look for the crates. All of the crates had a "Z" on them to signify that they were what was needed. She would see the crates as she swam down there.
Quickly, Niko wrapped a crated in wire and swam with it back up. It was quite heavy, but she managed to get it up to the surface. The crate was filled with weapons. No wonder why it was so heavy. She caught her breath and dove again.
She was running low on wire and that was strenuous as well. She needed a better idea. Luckily, the next crate wasn't as heavy. She was able to pull this crate up with her without a problem. This one was light due to it being pelts of animals.
Niko hopped out of the water to take a break and come up with a plan. She looked and looked until she found a small boat and some rope. She then turned back to Hisashi. She didn't want to ask anyone for help. Then she activated the man beast clone.
"Really? What do you need me to do?" Hisashi stood transformed and ready to help. Niko's plan: have Hasashi pull up the crates from the boat. They had eight crates left. Hisashi saluted Niko and was ready to get in the boat.
When they did, they pulled off and Niko prepared to dive again. She took as much breaths of air as she could. Most of the crates were pretty deep. She may run out of breath if she stayed down there too long. Hisashi gave her the okay to drop, and she dived back in.
Niko swam down again, this time with a rope. She wanted to tie up all the boxes she could. That would be hard but it was the fastest way to do it. She quickly tied up one when she noticed that some of the crates were stuck. Her job just kept getting harder and harder.
She went to the next box and tied it up. She however, had to swim up to get air. When she surfaced, she gave Hisashi the okay to pull them up. Hisashi would lift with all his might. Soon the two crates surfaced and Niko helped put them in the boat.
The boat was not large enough to carry more than two boxes at a time. They had to row back to the harbor and lift them up via that way. This job was looking like it would take all day. Still, Niko was always glad to help. The boxes were put back up and Niko and Hisashi pushed out again.
The row back and forth was definitely the worst part. Niko could have swam faster, if the boxes weren't so heavy. If she did it that way, she would tire herself out before she even got halfway done. They made it back to where they needed to be when Niko dived again.
This time, Niko swam down and tied the rope around one of the stuck boxes. She didn't do multiple ones this go because she wanted to get those out first. That would make it easier to get the rest of them. Niko swam back up to Hasashi.
She gave the okay again when she surfaced. Hisashi pulled with all his might, but was unable to get the crate up. He shrugged his shoulders at Niko. Niko could tell it was no good. She was becoming frustrated because she had just came back up. With a deep breath, she swam back down.
When she got down there, she saw the problem. The crates where stuck underneath something and she would have to push it off to get them. Niko Went back up for air. She signaled for Hisashi to dive with her. Hisashi shook his head no. Then Niko shot him a look, and Hisashi was in the water plunging down to the bottom like a rock.
They both came up on the bar that was on top of the crates. They began to lift. It was heavy as hell, but it was moving. Hisashi used all his might to move it, and when they finally did, he forgot he was under water. He opened his mouth to celebrate when all this water came flooding in. Hisashi quickly grabbed for his neck (very funnily btw) and acted as if he were drowning. Niko shook her head and rescued him, losing more time in the process.
They resurfaced and caught their breaths. Niko scolded Hisashi for his carelessness. Then they laughed it off. Niko knew Hisashi was just a happy wolf, and he could also be a forgetful wolf. There was many things about Hisashi that Niko wished she knew. Even after all this time, they still had a lot to learn about each other.
Niko no longer needed Hisashi for the diving. It was all about the rope pulling for him now. Niko quickly got down and tied one of the crates. Then, she tied another. After the two were tied, Niko swam back up. Then she gave Hisashi the go to pull.
He pulled them up with so much more ease this time. Niko helped get them in the boat. Then they were back off to the harbor. The men there waited eagerly. They all thanked her and took the crates. Then, Hisashi and Niko rowed back to where they needed to be.
This was seriously becoming tedious. Also partly annoying. Niko wished that this would be more... exciting. She dove into the water and went down to tie another box. Then, Niko got her wish. Just then, a big a** shark swam up on Niko. She turned to see teeth and a big mouth. Niko quickly grabbed a kunai and stabbed the shark in the roof of the mouth. The sharks mouth began to close as it writhed in pain. Niko swam out fast as she could avoiding being crushed. The sharks blood was al in the water. The reddish floated around them as the shark swam off.
After fighting the shark, Niko swam back up. She had to catch her breath before going back down. This job had now become something entirely. It went from easy, to difficult, to time consuming, to tedious, to dangerous like that. It was just all bad for the job. Niko wouldn't give up though. They only had six crates left after they finished this run. It was time for them to get this done.
Niko went down again to make sure she tied down the first, and to get the next one as well. Then, Niko looked around for sharks. Seeing none, she swam back up. When she came up, she jumped in the boat. She sat down for a minute. Then she told Hisashi to head back.
They arrived and dropped of the crates. The men offered to help, but Niko explained the dangers to them. There was still blood in the water as well. Niko didn't want anyone to get hurt. The men all understood and took the crates back up. Then, it was on Niko again.
They would row back as Niko tried to think of a better way. She was trying her best to get this done quickly, but there was a lot she needed to do. Then it hit her. Why not use shadow clones? Niko shook her head. She couldn't believe it took her that long to try this.
Niko made two shadow clones. She sent them down to tie up the boexes for her. They would do so and poof away afterwards. Niko saw the memories of the clone and became aware that the boxes were tied. Then, she gave Hisashi the okay.
That was so much faster and easier than when Niko herself was doing it. She would smile and be pleased as they rode back to the harbor. Soon, they made it and the men helped take the crates out. There were only four more left. Niko would only have to make this trip two more times. She became happy to come across that fact.
The men finished and Niko and Hisashi pushed off again. Hisashi was getting tired, and they had already been there for three hours. Niko decided to take a small break to let Hisashi rest. They sat there and waited until he was ready again.
Hisashi mustered his strength as he would row to the right spot. Then just like last time, Niko sent down two clones. After a few minutes, one of the clones poofed. Niko sighed as the memories came back. The other clone poofed too. Nik shook her head as she jumped back into the water herself.
The remaining four crates were all too heavy to get two at a time. They would need to bring them back one at a time. Niko grew really frustrated as she struggled to get the crate up. She started and Hisashi began to pull. Soon, the crate came up.
It took quite some time to get that crate into the boat as it was really was heavy as hell. Niko and Hisashi both had to pull a ridiculous amount just to get it in. That required a small break as well. Niko shook her head as she looked at Hisashi. Then, he began to row back.
The amount of time to make it back to the harbored doubled. The boat was really weighed down now. Her frustration was now on her face. This was weird to see even for Hisashi. She was so upset, she didn't even speak to the men. They took the box and then asked how much longer. Hisashi said they were almost done but that was an understatement to say the least.
They pushed off again. Niko's frustration was starting to get the best of her. She just wanted to be done. That way, they could go get Don Juan and company. It was something she felt she had to do. They made it back to the dive spot.
Niko was no longer playing around. She made four shadow clones right off the bat. They all dived down. They tied up the crate easily and helped push it up. They did so pretty quick. All the clones poofed. Then Hisashi to a page out of Niko's book. He made a clone as well, and had him row instead. Niko laughed as Hisashi laid back.
The coming back was still the longest part. There was now an extra body on the boat. They were not speeding and three hours quickly turned into six. Niko and Hisashi were definitely good shinobi. There was no disputing that. As divers though... They could use a little work.
The boat pulled in and Niko reassured the man they were almost done. The men there were also frustrated. Not with Niko, no. They were mad at the fact that it dropped in the first place. Everyone involved lost a whole day's worth of work. With that in mind, there was only two more crates.
Two more crates was only two more trips. After that, they would finally be done. The job that decided to become never-ending was coming to a close. Then Niko would be able to move on. It was all about Don Juan after this. Niko and Hisashi came up on the dive spot. They were both so ready to be done. Still, Niko and Hisashi took it seriously. They say in competitive sports, the game isn't a game until the last two minutes. These were the last two minutes.
Niko made her shadow clones and they hopped in the water. Soon after, they poofed. Niko got the signal and Hisashi pulled with all his might. They managed to get this one up to the boat. After that, they began rowing back.
Hisashi was rowing like he never rowed before. If you could see him, his face would look like he was having an intense bm (bowel movement). He would've had to take his shirt off if that were the case. It was THAT intense. Niko smiled and laughed as she watched him. He was making the job fun, even when it clearly was not.
They came upon the harbor again. This time, the men seemed very grateful. There could have been major issues if any of them went to dive for the crates. The shark, the heaviness of the crates, the amount of time it took to get them back; these would have all played factors and they would have never gotten done. That's why they decided to show Niko their appreciation. She was told that she was doing a wonderful job. They couldn't repay her enough. That made Niko smile some more. Then, they were off.
As if all the frustration left their bodies, Niko and Hisashi were on the last crate. Hisashi rowed back and asked his signature question. Niko shot him down faster than a speeding bullet. Even though they now got free steak, she was in no mood for it. Hisashi would just have to wait. No steak for him. He was used to it but he really didn't like it. This ran through his mind as they hit the dive spot.
To finish with a bang, Niko made four more shadow clones. Then, they ALL jumped in to get the crate tied up and put back. The only reason why Niko didn't do this in the first place, was the amount of chakra she was using was too much to also try and breath as well as watch Hisashi. It was crazy enough they were able to get that deep in the first place. This was not a job that should of been taken lightly.
When the clones, Hisashi, and Niko came up, they quickly tossed the crate into the boat. Then Niko dispersed the clones and told Hisashi she would row. The boat was heavier than she expected. She struggled as Hisashi just laughed. Soon, they would make it back to the harbor.
With that, the men grabbed the crate and thanked Niko for everything she done. She even unexpectedly got paid. It was a win even though they lost a day. Niko realized in that moment, she and Hisashi made a good dive team. They would just never be doing this again. Niko and Hisashi both wreaked of salt water. They smelled like fish basically and Niko couldn't stand it.
"Okay Hisashi. We're going home now. I need to compile this info into a report for the kage. I'm sorry about the steak, but we don't have to have fish either. I think I'm done with them for a while too." Hisashi would laugh. "It's alright! I want to go bathe anyways. I stink! But Niko, what are we gonna do? We're gonna have to report to the kage soon." Niko nodded as she understood.
After successfully being able to get all the crates, they would decide to go home. The dive team completed all the tasks that were placed in front of them. Maybe the harbor will learn from this lesson. Maybe, it was just an accident and it was likely to happen again. Who knew? All they knew was...
"Either way, we did a good job today."
