He couldn't hate Kya. She... was right, and someone needed to do the difficult things. Torture, interrogate. Minimize risk to a degree infinitesimal. She was much the guardian and Mother of the safety of the village, as Sanae administered to the masses. It all... worked well, in its own way. Even he, as someone who despised the structure of the Hidden Villages, could admire the way in which Kya and Sanae -- and even Chie -- had restored order.
But they took Taylor, and did so ruthlessly. It... hurt him, somehow, to see him pulled away. As he was led by Nava to what must have been a brutal interrogation, Shinsei grappled onto his fingers for but a few moments until they slipped past, whispering words he hoped would be remembered.
"It's okay," he told Taylor. "They'll clear you. You know that you're innocent . . . and so do I. Just... be resilient."
And that was it. From then on, all they would be able to do was... wait. And listen. To Kya, to Falsa, to her many friends. Kya had made so many interesting determinations, all in one; she sought to understand things about him that he had never once considered. He could feel her looking through his skin, to the deep within, and it made him uncomfortable. It made something stir, and not the blighted wood, nor the deep connection he had to the foulness of the thicket.
It was his God -- the voice that whispered within the wood. Or at least... he thought it was a God.
Something compelled him to close his eyes. To listen. All sound was replaced by a humming, a buzzing; Kya's voice, in the real world, diminished. Instead, he could hear the whispers she had relayed to his thoughts . . . somehow. And in exchange, the voice of the Thicket... responded back.
"Kya, my old friend," it whispered. It was a dark, horrific voice; a tongue controlled by boundless evil. "Why is it that you despise Necromancy so dearly? That you look upon the ocean, and seek a God within the water to reassure you? A God of the Ocean different to the one you've known. Do you remember the bloated corpses of the brine? Do you remember who commanded them?"
And then, nothing. The voice stilled. There was no ominous laughter, but merely a recession, as it parted into the back of his mind... living and bleeding through his chakra, which flowed freely through his veins. Shinsei... did not understand; he felt that his thoughts had been manipulated, perhaps even to view himself more negatively. To push him a direction he did not wish to go. Was it Kya, and her genjutsu? Was it something else, the trickery of the village? He... desperately, now, wanted to leave.
Sevastiana. And a familiar face. Mugen? He swore that was his name; a person who he had seen pull Falsa from the clutches of Hi no Kuni, from their forlorn compound spliced with the bloodlines of other families. Because of him, Falsa had gone far from the carnage, but in a different direction than Shinsei... who quietly, regretfully conformed to the life of a villager. And now, they reunited, both so strong. Both filled with such potential.
She had made a lot of friends, unlike him. Her elder brother continued to chase perfection, so that one day he could match her. But until that moment, he had consigned himself to a great loneliness.
"Yeah," he responded to Falsa, and glanced once more to Mugen, before his eyes looked back. "Let's go somewhere else. This was the decision Taylor wanted to make -- I only have to hope they let him go." And with that, he looked to Kya one more time, as the intimidating woman spun an intricate weave within her thoughts. She rationalized . . . and imagined . . . and saw something no one else did. He wondered what it was that made her so different, that also -- equally -- made him feel so connected to her.
Somehow, he could feel something like guilt as he viewed her, but not for leaving the village. It was for something entirely different . . . a thing he felt he would never, ever be able to atone.
But for now, he needed to go. All of them did. Leading his sister with a gesture, he decided to go somewhere... else.
Horus relaxed slightly when the restraints were lessened. As the bird was brought away Taylor was confronted with Shinsei briefly. "Thank you." He said gently. He was then guided to the interrogation chambers where Nava guided him. When he sat down he was asked for everything he knew about Kogarashi. He took a deep breath before he began.
"I was found by them, as I told your leader." Taylor said softly. "When I was recruited I was one of two new members. The leader is a ice ninja by the name of Takumi Saegahara. He was powerful, and charismatic. The other new member was a girl named Kagami. I never got her last name, but when she joined she was a novice. When I saw her recently and I threatened her life for threatening my friend, she was powerful enough to halt a dozen men through the use of water ninjutsu and genjutsu with an aesthetic of mirrors. The kind of growth she went through was unnatural. It's possible that she will be stronger than I am by the time I see her next."
Taylor took a break before he continued. "There were only three members, including myself, when I joined. When I returned to Giman there were foot soldiers, about a dozen of them. There seemed to be no limit of them, however. There weren't any higher ranked ninja in the group to my knowledge. The institute of Kogarashi can be found in Giman. It's a grand building with enough space for an organization five times its size." Taylor asked for a pencil and paper. He then drew the dimensions of the institute to the best of his memory. His drawing skills were not opportune, but they would be enough of a rough schematic. "I think that's everything I know. I will answer any question you have." He stated.

The man approached the forest that contained the temple Saiko was so familiar with. It had practically been his home for many years as he watched over the Kazekage. His stride into the forest showed that he was in no hurry but, knew exactly where he was going. It was a beautiful walk if one took the time to take in the scenery before actually reaching the temple. However, the walk went quicker than Saiko had anticipated and the laterns that marked the entrance came into view. The man made no detours and went straight to the entrance, going immediately in. Saiko would nod in the general directions of the few monks and other various people that were around. No one would bother him as he went to the location that held the Kazekage. Suna was no longer around but, Ayame would always be the Kazekage in Saiko's eyes... eye. The man approached the door and took a deep breath before opening the door. What if she was awake and he had to talk to her? Suddenly a small amount of anxiety washed over the man as the door opened and he went into the room. Immediately something seemed amiss. 'Where's Daichi?' Saiko knew he occasionally would go off on a walk but, the room was never empty. The man's eye then went over to where the Kazekage was or rather should have been. "Kazekage!" The man shouted as his hand went down to his katana and he quickly took off. He needed to find Kya quickly.
Chakra pulsed to Saiko's feet to increase his speed, there was no time to waste at all. Not that he knew that the Kazekage was indeed awake. The man went to the different places that he knew he could find Kya, eventually stumbling upon her and a group of people. Almost immediately he noticed that a few of them had the same eyes. 'A clan?' Saiko thought to himself, approaching slowly as he wasn't sure of who most of these people were. Except one, Taylor. The boy from Suna. His eyes had changed. It seemed the man had come upon them at the very end of a discussion and he immediately came to Kya, more or less ignoring the others. "Kya, I need to speak to you urgently. It's about..." His eye moved towards the group. "Her." Is all he would say, hoping that Kya would know he was speaking of Ayame. Saiko didn't trust this group, mostly cause he didn't know who they were. Even though Taylor was a friend, he knew that with how everything went after Suna's destruction that he may not be.

Shukaku rested on the pillar that laid under him, crouching, staring down at Sonyo. "You actually did it, kid." He grumbled, amusement in his eyes. "You managed to weasel your skinny a** in to another village without actually being attached, without responsibilities. How does that feel?" The young jinchuriki frowned, staring back. How dare he belittle her like this? So what if she didn't want to be responsible for more lives? What if she didn't want to tie herself to a village she'd inevitably fail? Was that so wrong? In villages, around people.. .she was nothing but a danger and a burden. Outside though, in the world, without ties? She could make a difference there. Feed the poor and the destitute, heal the sick and the injured. She could do that.
As if reading her mind, the tanuki laughed again-- more loudly this time. His bellows shook her mental plain, threatening to break the stained glass windows surrounding her once again. "Kid, you are ******** class="postcontent-align-right" style="text-align: right">

Ayame saw Saiko as Daichi appeared beside her. "Lady Kazekage." He said in a huff. "The kage has delivered her decision in regards to Sadayo and Kyomei." Ayame nodded as she got on his back. "Take me to her." She said as the two went off.

αNava listened to the words that Taylor spoke from her seat on the stool not far from his own chair, watching his face the way Kya had always recommended she start doing if she wanted to be able to discern truth and lies from facial cues. From what slightly less keen eyes could tell he was being honest, though that would only do so much. "Troubling," she spoke when he spoke of Kagami and their grip on Gimangakure. Someone would need to destabilize them before they became problematic... or something like that. Kya would likely agree herself. Water seemed to coalesce at the formation of a very basic seal. "Take a deep breath for me, Taylor, and close your eyes. This won't hurt a bit!" The water moved to surround his head, slowly, and should he not resist at least, she would scan through the memories that had accumulated within the last few weeks or so, cycling through his initial capture and interactions therein. Her eyes widened a bit... realizing that Kya would not be happy with a certain someone if she didn't hold a secret back...
As for the actual Kya, she was receiving her new ink. Her own brother was expertly detailing the accomplishment into her skin, a tapestry showing a snake head descending from her neck into a mighty looking vortex. It was small, and intricate, and required a deft touch in order to truly bring out the lifelike hues and everything. When Saiko entered the room, she brightened a bit, not caring for fixing her less than modest status with her breasts only barely out of sight due to the way she sat. "Welcome!" she hailed just before he spoke. Seeing as no one but the very agents who at all times worked in the Temples were present there was no reason for him to worry.
"Oh! Ayame awakened recently. I'm not entirely sure where she is now, but I do believe that she's likely gathering her strength. Take a breath, friend. She hasn't yet resigned herself to the void."

"Oh..." Was all that Saiko managed to say as a slight feeling of embarrassment stung him. The look of panic on his face quickly faded and his grip on his katana was loosened. It's not like he had anyway of knowing that she was awake since he was not told of the recent development. So, it's not like anyone could actually blame him for panicking. The man looked at the tattoo of the snake that was being placed onto the woman. It seemed her brother had quite a talent. "I apologize for bothering you Kya about it then. I wasn't aware that she was awake so naturally when I went to her chambers I was concerned." Saiko took a deep breath and allowed the chakra in his feet to return to his normal flow. "I suppose I should leave you to your business then." The man would say as he didn't wanna bother the higher ranking shinobi more than he already had.

With the Uzukage's permission - and order - it seemed they were finally to accomplish all they had set out to do. Taylor was to be released from the grasp of the Vortex, with he and Shinsei given a task in order to eventually grant Taylor full rights within the village. Chie had, simply put, believed him . . . and that both meant a great deal, and provided the two of them a great deal of opportunity. Shinsei no longer minded the prospect of being a villager, now that he had a role to fulfill, and the freedom to do it.
It was, in truth, actually quite nice. He was a Konin, now... an accomplished title; a very high rank, second to very few. Though it was strange to think the Uzukage had trusted him with such position and prominence, he knew too that he was an asset to the village, if loyal. He would only need to show the woman that her own faith was not misplaced.
Stepping into the Vortex facility, and revealing to the inquisitive members a badge of rank, he was allowed further in. Then, upon finding Taylor within his cell, with water scoping out his thoughts and delving into his mind... he asked the interrogator - a woman enthralled by her work - to cease her actions, by order of the Uzukage.
She complied, and Taylor's mind was set free.
"I'm back, my friend," he stated quietly, stepping through the room and offering his companion a trusting hand. "I've completed all that we set out to do, and have provided you the opportunity to hold a life here, in the village. I'm a Konin now, and for the moment... your retainer." Shinsei's lips were lit with a faint smile. Once Taylor took his hand, he would guide him out of the Temple, and back to his apartment where the two could discuss their future in the village.
Taylor relaxed himself for the interrogation. The memories of the past few weeks flowed like water. However, the interrogator would find any memories prior to kogarashi would be sealed. Furthermore, if the interrogator tried to break the seal, then the curse mark located on his heart would start to unravel. However, the two of them did not have long together. Taylor was forced away by Shinsei. The masculine man delivered a strange assortment of information to him, but there was one thing that he pieced from it. Taylor had a chance to become a village ninja again. "I'm ready for it." Taylor said with a smile as he took Shinsei's hand. Horus was freed from his restraints as the two of them followed Shinsei out of the tower.

αNava was, for lack of better term, a little put off by the information that she was able to extract. When she found the block in her memory, a cursory attempt at prodding past it showed her exactly what had been described, and Shinsei's interruption had proven most oppurtune. "Oh, well how about that..." she spoke... to them both. She made a seal with a concerned look to Taylor, and with a dispersing of illusory snakes and the sound of hisses covering her exit she was gone.
Kya saw her coming, and as she came into view behind her with the end of her genjutsu and shunshin, she held up a finger. "It's no bother, Saiko. In fact, I welcome your company. There is no rush for now. Come up here, have a seat. I've a question for you." She pointed to the seat beside her, allowing for Nava to whisper into her ear and doing a poor job at disguising her disgust as Saiko either came or went. "How irritating." she breathed as Nataya leaned in to listen and Na'chal sighed at the interruption at his work on her tattoo. Too much crowding was annoying the only male of the snake siblings. When he DID reach the landing, he would find his seat waiting, and Nataya had moved back to bar him from ascending any farther up the stairs... at least for now. She reached into her low-hanging obi and from somewhere he wouldn't be able to see remove a knife. She reached below her chair, lifting a mango from her backpack, one small surviving piece of konoha. "So, I know it looks like we are an Uchiha club, but the Vortex is always looking to expand... and I highly doubt San would have a problem with it. God pointed me your way when I watched you fight the Kyuubi those years ago, and I feel I've twiddled my thumbs on the matter. Simply put, I'd like to extend an offer to join the Vortex corps." Her tone remained level even though inside of her she was burning white hot with irritation and confusion. To him, a degree of respect was owed, both for power and his drive to protect Ayame. In him, she could sense great motion and potential. Perhaps even as one to take over one day?
Much remained to be seen.

Sonyo gripped her fists, staring up at Shukaku with a fire in her eyes. "Shut up, Shukaku. I'm doing what I have to do! For the people!"
"No, you're doing it for yourself." Shukaku frowned back, or whatever a mass of sand could do as a frown. "You hate yourself, you hate your failures, and in till you fix yourself you will never probably be able to heal others. We've been together a long time, child. I know you."
Sonyo looked away, ashamed, upset. This... homicidal thing was reading her like a book, flipping through her pages. But he was right, he was completely right but she couldn't do anything about it, she wasn't strong enough. How could she expect herself to be able to help others when she couldn't even help herself. Anger flared inside her, and outside of her mental world-- in the real world --sand covered in a thin layer of ice began to float around her.
"Shut the hell up Shu."
"No."
Sonyo's hands balled harder in to fists, her nails digging in to the meaty parts of her palms. "Please shut up! I know I'm screwed, I know I'm broken! Shut up, shut up, shut-!"
"I'm not against you kid. I'm doing this to help you." Sonyo stood there, shocked for a second, her head snapping up to meet Shukaku face to face again. The young woman blinked a few times, slowly, in confusion.
"Giant murderous sand tanuki says what?" Shukaku let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head.
"Being with you these years, you've changed me. Knives was different, he cultivated the bloodthirst inside me, let it run free but you... you've taught me restraint. Which, in all honesty, is never a word that you should use to describe me."
Sonyo was quiet for a moment before she was pulled from her mental plain by the feeling of someone looking up at her. The young woman slowly opened her eyes to see a VORTEX operative in front of her, causing her to raise an eyebrow in confusion. She was so distracted at the new arrival she didn't notice the three little piles of sand in a circle around her. "Can I help you?"
The Vortex member crossed their arms, seeming weary. "Lady Uzukage Chie has requested your presence in the office."
"Chie, huh?" Looking down, Sonyo thought for a moment. Chie was that woman at the office before correct? What happened to Sanae? Was everything okay. Sonyo lifted herself to her feet and made her way again towards the office.

Saiko was pleasantly surprised to hear Kya offer him a seat with her. The man looked as Kya's sister came into the room and approached Kya. However, as she made her appearance Saiko was already on his way over to the seat that Kya had pointed out. Once he had made it to the seat he would bow slightly to Kya. "Thank you." He would say before taking a seat beside her. The man paid no attention to what was being said to Kya as he figured it was none of his business. The man instead tapped his knees slightly as he looked around the room. Soon enough he heard Kya speaking to him once again. As she spoke, his attention went fully and only to her. What she had to say surprised him. Saiko hardly thought that Uzu would ever allow him into what was effectively the anbu of Uzu. He generally felt like an outsider to this village since it was mostly ran by Konoha nin. "Well, first off. I appreciate the offer Kya. Thank you. However, I must ask what is expected of me in the Vortex Corps?" His question was rather simple. The man thought for a moment. What did he have to lose? Not like he had to abandon a family he no longer had. "I accept however."

αWhen Saiko went to bow, Kya put her hands up and spoke plainly to him. "We do not do that here, friend." As a joke, it made Nataya at least chuckle as her older sister tapped Saiko on the shoulder and nodded at his thanks. She rolled her shoulders as he spoke, starting to feel a bit stiff from all of the stagnation she'd experienced as her brother inked her up. "In a word, plenty. The VORTEX is all, my friend. It was named such after the great spiraling maw of the universe, given function and form by the Mother." She gestured to the large bronze Snake head behind her, opened to show stairs leading further up into the building but with huge, assymetric teeth and empty, infinitely gazing eyes. "The principles of Nagakaborous' are the pillars on which the VORTEX was built: we stay in motion and keep the village safe in doing so. We focus on our goals, targets and whatever threats present themselves. Lastly, and this is the most important, we value truth." She let that hang in the air for a bit. "I believe the guidance of my God lives within each and every one of the surviving members of Sunagakure. You are all strong, and we have kept eyes on all of the citizens, not just you all. Among them, you strike me as strong and trustworthy. I am happy to have you. As for credentials and induction... I care less for the latter and more for the former. Have you training in Botany? The Medical fields?"

Saiko stopped mid-bow as he saw Kyaβs hand come up to stop him. The man was just doing as he was felt was right but, if there was no need to bow then he wouldnβt. As the woman spoke, Saiko listened, nodding his head slightly to show he was listening to the woman speak. The mother, who was that? Saiko imagined it was Kyas interpretation of the creator of the universe. Whoever or whatever that may be. Nagakaborous. Another word that he didnβt know much about other than the few times heβd heard it over the last few years at the temple. A word for their religion. Learning more about their religion would likely have to wait for another time as Saiko was focused on the Vortex part of it all. Sunagakure was a powerful village with plenty of powerful ninja in the days before the strike that took it down. Most of the strong ones survived. So, it made sense to him that Kya would find the ones that made it here strong. βI have no knowledge in botany. However, I became a medic nin shortly after the fall of Suna and coming here. I didnβt want to see people die the way they had at that battle. Medic nin were short in numbers and I contribute that to part of the reason we lost our village. You can have the strongest Shinobi in the world but, even they fall like the others without a medic nin to help them when they get hurt. So, I trained in the medical arts to help those I could.β Saiko told the woman in response to her question about qualifications. He stopped talking as he realized he was rambling on a bit more than he meant to. Perhaps she wouldnβt mind but, Saiko didnβt intend to waste more time than need be.

αKya listened to the mans anecdote and, even if it was rambling she hadn't asked for, she appreciated the knowledge nonetheless. To know why he was the type of ninja he was felt a little inspiring. When she started out... well she had initially became a ninja for a lot more... violent reasons. So far she'd come in just five years. "I'll have to tell you my life story one of these days. I think, though, that we should wait until Nava isn't around. She's only 14." She clapped her hands together, as her youngest sibling frowned at the back of her head. "I'd like to see you go and get familiar with botany. Poisons, remedies, ails and aids. We are trained to use them all: you will need at least an apprencticeship in that and the medical arts before your training can officially begin. No point waiting, off to it now." she shoed him along with a smile and a degree of finality. God demanded motion, and he could not move if he was sitting here stagnant.
