AkureiKnight And again.. what about the women? Were they tested? I think that if they are going to do studies like that, then they need to do so for both genders. But that is pretty interesting. I've read somewhere that women are more easily turned on by both hetero and homosexual images. I was always under the impression that women are more likely to be bisexual and in between on the scale. AkureiKnight BakaTulip And I think, I'm not sure, that estrogen might be a weaker hormone so it may be harder to test scientifically get results on experiments that involve just estrogen only (lesbians) than those that involve testosterone or being attracted to it. That would be pretty freaky. I'd hate to be tested and rounded up like those people in V for Vendetta.... Hmmm.. I never thought of it that way before. Are you saying lesbians are more horny than a straight girl? I was going to say that maybe it has to do with our small amount of testoserone but I dont know how that could fit. If we had a higher level of testoserone, we would have deeper voices.. etc. And Im not quite sure what you meant in your last paragraph. sweatdrop I do believe that she's saying it's harder to get turned on by estrogen. Testosterone is THE sex hormone, so the more of it that is present means the more sexual energy there would be, by logic. So technically gay men would have the most sexual arousal potential. Estrogen is a little harder to detect. So in essence she's saying lesbians are hard to turn on. And I agree with most people that without an article or further research into it there's little more than speculation. Although I have to say probably more people idenitify with being bisexual than are actually bisexual. I'm not saying it's bad... but many people are confused as to their actual biological orientation period. (I'm not saying they're not on the right track, just not quite putting the pieces together properly). I know a chick who identifies as a lesbian but sometimes seems a little *too* interested in the opposite sex as well (so yeah, I believe she's bi).

I can definitely say that there are bisexual men, I am one of them, I am aroused when I make out with a guy as well when making out with a girl.
Images may not be enough to arouse men to other men.

You also need to look at what type of women the men being tested were attracted to if they consider themselves bisexual. Some men like larger women, not really thin ones, or they might not have found the clothing ((or lack of clothing)) that the women were in to be arousing. There are so many other factors in sexuality that the scientists probably didn't accomodate to. I think a man can be bisexual, just as a woman can. Saying that they can't be is horribly gender biased and sexist to the extreme...>_< My friend Matt is bisexual and is turned on by men and women, I know for a fact, lol. He's had relationships with both genders and likes them equally, all for different reasons because each gender has their own things to offer. Women are completely different from men, and to follow through with that, so would the relationships. Some men like both because of the differences. *shrugs* It's the exact same as a bisexual female in my opinion.

That's exactly what I meant *nodnod* I'm glad I made sense to someone. Also my friend and I were talking and we noted that man on man porn tends to be the most hardcore, whereas woman on woman porn tends to be very softcore and I think it might be for that reason. Something like that. Girls do have minor amounts of testosterone (why we get little moustaches we have to wax...bleh), perhaps why girls do not get as horny as boys... not to sway we are less pervy because that is so untrue.

Maybe somebody who is a bisexual is just not ready to admit that they are gay or lesbien or they don't want to be gay or lesbien but they can't control their feelings for the same sex.

It happens, but don't dismiss male bisexuality as mere confusion. Hmm. How was the "normality" state of each person determined? What I mean is, is it possible that the men were aroused by one gender more than the other and that the lower-intensity readings didn't get attention?
