Rishima Post 3

Rishima gave a nod of his head before he turned toward Eshe again, giving a bit of a sigh. It was just as this younger sister said, why couldn't they stay outside? Surely they must know that it was going to be uncomfortable for everyone involved to be stuck in such close quarters with those who would on any other day see one another as an enemy. His antennae gave a little twitch before he said, "Maybe what they have to say involves something sensitive that they don't want any outsiders to overhear?" Not that he was positive on that, it was just a guess on his part.

Either way he meant to join in, to see what was going on, and hope that there would be news that would help when it came to dealing with the Dretch. Giving the one next to him a smile he said, "It will be alright, we are all here for the same reason after all. Let's hope that means this will be a peaceful meeting." It's what Rishima wanted at least.

Zigaran Post 4

Giving a slow nod of his head he gave another glance toward the pink skinned women. He supposed that probably right. No reason to really worry about them or making friendly with them. This was an alliance of convenience at best and nothing more, once the Dretch had been taken care of they would return to being enemies he was sure. They just had to get through all of this and then they would be able to go back what they were doing.

Zigaran turned to Mnyiri as she leaned in closer to him, giving a slow nod as she mentioned how it couldn't be good for them to be in a closed room with all the 'tension'. It was something that he couldn't help but to agree with, "I just hope that a fight doesn't break out before we can figure out what to do about the Dretch." He was the sort that wanted to fight for his people, but not now. Any fights that started now seemed as though they would just be a problem. As they walked along he seemed to think on what the best course of action might be and he found himself thinking that maybe that would be to stand as far from the Elaria as possible so as not to incite anything once they were inside.

A part of him didn't want to do, not wanting to hide from anyone, but at the same time he didn't want to pick any fights. Not with that group at least. There were some he was only to happy to do so with, like Blondie.

Naqenni | 3

Here’s to hoping we get something out of this…

Naqenni managed the barest nod, but couldn’t help the uncomfortable crawl under her skin as they were beckoned forward, deeper into unfamiliar territory. Surely it shouldn’t matter at this point. They were already here, had already spent days, weeks, bringing themselves to this point and no matter what their position, they were not in any state to win a battle by virtue of body count alone.

But she still did not like it. And no one could make her like it.

As they moved in, she felt she could feel the eyes of their traitor cousins on them, judging them. Surely some of them had the gall to think them all weak, here begging for help, and the thought made her insides roil, an only barely contained snarl pushing at the back of her throat. How they couldn’t have been more wrong and yet—here she was just the same, powerless to explain anything.

She spat at the ground on their way in.

Perhaps she could not fire any shots, and perhaps it would be openly foolish at this point to make any open signs of aggression. But she hated being here, and every step in only seemed to cement how misguided of an idea it was, her legs threatening to rebel against her. Any moment could be their last, all thanks to their Matron. She felt entitled to that much of a showing of disgust, whether or not anyone took note. Otherwise, however, she managed to maintain herself, and fell in line near Nivalis and Ceylinae with their sisters at their back as they moved in to what must have been the ‘Elder’s Hall.’

Even the air felt strange in her lungs, and she had to put mental focus on not shifting her body as nerves skittered anxious through her veins. No matter how she spun the facts, her mind continued to repeat the same concept: under these circumstances, any moment could be their last.

Danika - 2

It appeared that the elders were determined to gather everyone inside of a meeting hall. Danika sensed a shift in the groups, many still uncomfortable with the idea of being near the other side, and she admittedly felt some concern of her own over how well talking with the Extremists and their Elarians could go. They were just so bitter, so obviously against any cooperation, that Danika wondered how much charisma and pressure it would take to get any form of agreement from them. Did they even worry about the Dretch? Her fingers clenched around the cool handles of her blades as if to ease her racing thoughts. Even if they chose to ignore it she couldn't forget the fathomless evil that had existed in the gaze of that Dretch. It was soulless with no pleasure in this world save for the misery of others.

That memory, that burning gaze is what aided the mystic in keeping her shoulders straight so that she could begin marching forward towards that meeting hall without fear.

NIVALIS
Post: 3

Nivalis wondered if she ought pose some argument to Naqenni's words. Whether they wanted to protect or avenge her or not, Niva still had at least some capability to defend herself. If they made to harm her, she wouldn't simply roll over. But... It probably wasn't worth it. She couldn't possibly be as adept at combat as either of her eldest sisters, and if it came to the worst, both of them would likely make more of a mark than she could... And with some many others around them, it wouldn't do to try and correct her.

So Nivalis said nothing and fixed her attention to the small cluster of Alkidike elders and mystics gathered ahead. She wondered if she could pick any of them out by name... In the Matron's lifetime, she had trained more than just Nivalis. Though the subject of the other girls she had practically raised did not come up often, Niva thought that the airy tone of the woman who spoke must make her Eshe.

She was older than Nivalis might have expected. Still not so old as the Matron, but old enough to have gone through... at least two apprentice mystics, it seemed like. There was only one at her side, though, a girl no older than Nivalis herself. With that thought in mind, even the Matron couldn't possibly know her.

"I am not offended," Nivalis assured Ceylinae softly. "Your concern is appreciated, and you are right to be wary," she admitted. "But let's try and keep our focus on what we came here to do. If we're lucky, we can be finished and gone before anything terribly unpleasant needs to occur." Admittedly, she wasn't sure she wanted to be going much deeper into the territory. It took any semblance of 'neutral territory' clean away from them. But as with everything else of late, there was little choice. She followed the Alkidike mystics, with a notch of her head to encourage her sisters at her side.

Vermina post 4

"I suppose that hoping is all we are able to do at this point," Vermina murmured with a sigh. For a hybrid to be attempting to reassure her... It was a bit embarrassing, but, for the time being, she was willing to take it. Her aunt was already heading off to the hall, leaving her to fend for herself in the crowd. Taking a deep breath, she gave a small nod and tried to walk with her head high. High enough to show confidence, but hopefully not so high that the Yaeli Alks saw it as hostile..... Maybe she would lower her chin just a tiny bit..?

Tyiva - 2

Good to see they made the journey safely? Perhaps it was the serenity of a mystic but Tyiva saw no need for such welcoming words. They were only invited out of necessity, nothing more. The tips of her fingers traveled down to slowly stroke at the blades touching her hips. These were the things that she trusted to aid her against any enemy, not any of these rebel sisters or their spawn. But she had to remember her place and so the blade settled herself with a deep breath before pressing forward. If the young mystic was going to be there in that meeting then she certainly was not going to let her be alone.

At the thought Tyiva glanced towards Danika, her expression flickering with a mixture of worry and bitter feelings. It would be simpler if she could walk right next to her friend but as it was she had to remember her own role and how she did not belong up at the front with those touched by Aisha and the Elders. Still it did not keep her from being as close as physically possible, even if it meant that she had to be dangerously close to those Elarians, something she truly did not enjoy. While other Alkidikes may have their stances against earthlings Tyiva had grown rather fond of some of them as of late and to know that these Extremists would gladly kill them, even at the cost of fighting their Sisters for their conquering, it did not settle well with her at all.

Danika - 3

It was obvious that whatever plans the Elders and Mystics held were not going to be accomplished so easily, if they did succeed that was. Danika felt a chill down her spine from all the stares behind her and for a second she wanted to press forward, to act as if nothing was bothering her. Let the Elarians have their hissing fit, she had seen plenty of that with young blooms when they didn't get their way, but the thoughts simply made her clench her jaw. Was it immature of her to just ignore them like they were not there? It was just so frustrating to know that those in charge wished to try and work together with those from Yael. They were sent there for a reason. The thought haunted her, the words that had been spoken to her by a friend when the meeting was first announced, and whether she liked it or not Danika's optimism about this meeting was fading rather quickly.

Could they actually find some common ground?

She got sight of Tyiva from the side and a small smile flickered across her features. At least she recognized several faces of those near her. Vermina and even Mnyiri....the young mystic took a deep breath. She had to remember that there was greater danger out there, something that surpassed the annoyance of some prideful Alkidikes and Elarians. Straightening her shoulders she made certain to keep pace with Eshe before glancing over her shoulder to shoot a good glance towards the Elarians trailing behind. One who she assumed was their young mystic, as she noticed that faintness of those markings similar to how her own were faded, seemingly was studying her and so Danika could only give her a firm nod before turning away and focusing on what was up ahead.

Ceylinae Post 4

Ceylinae found herself falling into silence as she walked alongside her sister, looking over at Naqenni who was uncharacteristically silent... which worried her. She much preferred when she was vocalizing what she was thinking. Then again it might not be a good idea for her to do so when they were around their 'cousins' that might take anything she might say as personal or a threat. She supposed that it might be better for them to remain quiet instead of risking saying the wrong thing. It was something she hated but she'd do whatever was best for her people even if it meant biting her tongue.

Turning to her mystic she gave a little bounce of her antennae, glad to hear that she hadn't insulted her. Looking forward again she said, "I suppose the sooner we get this done the sooner we are ready to deal with the Dretch." Not to mention the sooner they can go home where she preferred to be and where they were safest from the threat that the Alkidike and the Earthlings had become. She much preferred Yael where the only Earhtlings they really had to deal with were the purple eyes weaklings.

Shaking her head to clear those thoughts she told herself to focus on the here and now so she would be ready for whatever it was that was coming.

|| Alkidike/Elaria IC ||

The large group made their way into the Elder’s Hall in Andile, the oval-shaped hut more than large enough to house all of them. It was rare that they allowed so many Alkidike into the building at one time, but this was a special situation to say the least. The elders took their seats in the center of the hut, forming an almost complete circle, while the rest of the Alkidike and Elaria filled in behind them, spanning from the elders’ circle to the walls of the hut. The Elaria were still a young race, their elders consisting of only a couple of the warriors, while the bulk of their elders were still the Alkidike that had raised them. The majority of the eyes were on the mystics, who had taken their places on opposite sides of the inner circle. Eshe and Danika on one side, and the Matron and Nivalis on the other.

The Matron was the first to address the others. ”I think we all know at this point that the Dretch are a real threat.” She began. ”While we all had thought that they were just nightmares and lore told by our parents and grandparents to scare us, there was truth to it. They need to be dealt with.”

It was Eshe who added to that, talking not only to the other mystics, but to all of the Alkidike and Elaria in the room. ”In the past few months the Dretch has taken more and more Alkidike Sisters and we have received word from the shifters that they have almost stopped taking earthlings. We need to be careful now more than ever. It is not certain what they want with us, but we cannot stand to lose more Sisters.”

It was one of the elders now, a wrinkled old alkidike with a deep and cracked voice that answered a question that everyone had thought there was no answer to. ”The tales from my grandmother are clear. These Dretch are taking Alkidike women for sacrifices. They need them, and when they have enough they will invade the rest of Tendaji.” It was a tale that had been told by her grandmother to her mother, and by her mother to her. How true the story was wasn’t certain, but there was something to it to know that this had happened before.

Mnyiri l 4

"That's why I tried to stick to the back," she murmured, "Ya know, one less reason to make 'em puff up." When they arrived at the Elder's Hall Mnyiri took an extra minute to leave Mvua in a close, yet protected, place. He would be close if they needed him, but for the time being she was going someplace he just couldn't follow.

She'd heard the elders speak of this place before, but as a hybrid, Mnyiri had just assumed she'd never see it. As time went on she was learning more and more that to get where she wanted to be in their society she just needed to be more forceful; a skill that Zigaran had learned early. Once she'd caught up to him, Mnyiri fell in line towards the alk half of the room, and positioned herself far enough in the back to go mostly unnoticed, though close enough to hear what was being said.

These Dretch are taking Alkidike women for sacrifices. They need them, and when they have enough they will invade the rest of Tendaji.

Though now, she wished she was as far away from that news as possible.

"An invasion?" Mnyiri murmured, sucking in a sharp inhale. "And all those sisters...I can't believe they're using them as sacrifices..."

Pyrrha l 4

"I hope you're right."

Pyrrha kept mostly silent on their way, though her lackadaisical walk was anything other than tense. There was almost a curious turn to it, as if she were just as eager to see this place as she had been to land on Jauhar. The Hall was nothing so grand as she'd imagined (there were far less vines and not enough swamp moss to suit her), but when all was said and done it wasn't terrible. At least her people weren't separated, and from her vantage point she could not only see one mystic, but two, which was something of a novelty to her.

She'd almost expected their mystic to be a hybrid, and was a little happier to see she wasn't. Maybe they could be reformed after all. All they had to do was cut out the bad weeds and-

...the matron began to speak. And then Eshe, and a really, really old woman and then....came the real drop.

Kidnappings were one thing; that was enough to keep restrictions tight in Zinris, but this? Even Pyrrha knew when something was bad enough to be serious for a second.

"Does this mean we'll be staying in Jauhar? To help?" She pondered aloud, taking care to keep her voice down.

Rishima Post 4

Giving a little nod of his head he couldn't help but to hope for the best. There was really nothing else that they could do at this point he thought to himself as he went with the others to where the announcements would be made along with the younger sister he'd been chatting with an various others from both sides. He moved to where he'd be able to hear everything, wanting to prepare for whatever it was that was coming. There wasn't enough preparation for what was to come though.

Their sisters were being used as sacrifices by the Dretch? The creatures were using them in such a manner so that they could... invade? It sent a shiver up his spine and caused his antennae to give a rapid twitch. Giving a heavy sigh he said, "That's the worst news that we could have gotten." There was a part of him that wanted nothing more then to get safely back to his mate, to help to look after him, but he knew he couldn't. He had to see this meeting through to the end. Walking out now wouldn't really look good on his part of on the part of those that he represented.

Zigaran Post 5

Zigaran gave a nod as she mentioned not giving them a reason to puff up. Best that they didn't give any reasons for those that they were trying to ally with to leave. After such a long trip would they even bother to leave? Or would they just huff about things but still stick around because they were in need of aid from Aisha's followers? A curious thought that had his antennae bouncing a bit as he thought on it.

All of these thoughts were completely fogotten as those in charge began to speak. It was more then a bit of a shock as they were told that not only were the Alkidike sisters being targeted instead of the rest of the people of Tendaji and beyond. The reason behind it was enough to make even someone like Zigaran go wide eyed. They were sacrificing the sisters so that they could invade? After his brain got to working again he jerked his head to one side, looking around, relaxing only when he spotted his mother Mahaut within the crowd.

He gave a little shake of his head before he said, "This is crazy... so they sacrifices to start an invasion..." Did that mean they had a massive force that they wanted to move to Tendaji with their magic and the sacrifices?

Pruu post 5

Inside the hall, Pruu remained posted near the outskirts of the group so that she could see as much of her sisters and cousins as possible. She wanted to keep everyone in sight as much as she could.

Yet, the spoken words were enough to make her focus change to the center of the room. The Dretch.. were only taking Alkidike now? A small glance shifted toward where her mother and older sister stood, and then to the cousins she had grown up knowing. They were being targeted. Taken... For sacrifices..?

Her hands clenched into fists. "I suppose those bedtime stories never spoke of how the Dretch are to be disposed of?" she seethed. If the stories had answers, then they would surely have acted on the information already! There would be no need for this time-wasting meeting..
