The courtyard was surrounded by large stone structures that circled a beautiful fountain. Often unnoticed was the large bell tower to the west. At the very top was a bronze colored bell that was a meter wide as the base. It was one of the many ancient pieces of the academy that had never been replaced. The bell's rope became rot tight with tension produced by the motor below it. The large bell rose to one side and then paused for but a brief moment.
GONG!
DONG!
GONG!
A peace fell over the grounds after the last bell. This peace was unfortunately only a momentary thing as a fuzzy sound highlighted by an annoying muffled tone ruptured it. Then with a beep a message over the intercom stated: "Students! The opening ceremony will begin shortly. Please make your way to the gymnasium posthaste."
xxxMaron decided that it would be a good time to make her exit, saluting at Monte and Cecil before making her way to the gym. "Last one there is a rotten egg, and probably a detention casual, see yah!" Maron ran as fast as she could under the weight of her duffel bag.
"B-But we aren't Eggs.... and none of us are dying, how can we rot and be an egg?!" He questioned before giving chase, running as fast as he could after the woman with luscious thighs. Her ears and tail were nothing compared to them scientifically speaking as Cecil was giving chase. "WHAT THE HELL IS A CASUAL?!" He shouted as a legitimate question while his face didn't even flex to show any sign of emotions. (Exits)

She stopped and let her body fold over as she let out an exasperated sigh. It wasn't until she looked up that she saw the front gates of Beacon. What was she gonna do? Leave?! "I came this far to run? I can't!" Here she stood before the exit, only a few step away and yet the young huntress to be could not be willed to commit. "But without my sword, how am I supposed to fight Grimm? Ugh, this is so stupid... You're just gonna get yourself killed, Scar!" she tried to convince herself. There was always next year, when she'd have her weapon and could properly attend giving it her all. Scarlet reached into her pocket searching for her lighter again, hoping to help her calm down a little. But something else wound up in her hand when she pulled it out of her pocket; the badge of the Arcenciel. She looked at it fondly, recalling why she wanted to be a huntress in the first place. It was her dream that she desperately wished to see come to fruition. "...I guess...I'm not ready after all..." And so she finally came to the conclusion that leaving was the smart thing to do...however, the girl was still teetering and pacing in front of the gate.

[Enter from Gym]
Donnelly led Ridley out of the gym and out to the courtyard. It also housed the entrance to the school. He didn't quite take the scenic route or give a guided tour, but he did slow his pace a bit so the golden-eyed girl could have time to memorize the path and take in her surroundings.
The lush gardens, bell tower, fountain, wide open spaces, and silence caused the five-foot-two deer Faunus to feel at peace... Maybe it was his nature as a buck, but he loved nature and the outdoors. Nothing quite like a nice nap on the grass. Or a nap under a tree. Or a nap in a tree. Or a nap on a bench. Or reading under a tree. Or reading in a tree. Or reading on a bench. Or reading on the grass. Wow, did he do anything besides train, read, and sleep? It was kind of a sobering thought.
What with the after party still going on, Donnelly didn't expect to see anyone else in the courtyard. Let alone the same girl he'd noticed rush out earlier. He'd seen her leave, but he didn't know she was heading to the courtyard as well. Something was off, though... She was standing at the entrance to Beacon, looking quite conflicted. Or, perhaps, to her, it was more like the exit to Beacon?
He couldn't really hope to fully imagine what was going through her head right now, but... He had an idea. An educated guess. Something told him that if he didn't say something... Heh. Guess his sister was a good influence after all.
"If you give up now, then what were you even fighting for?" He asked.
Blunt? Yes, but the short, slim deer Faunus was never really known for tact. He also wasn't known for complete sentences, so... that was something.
While he might have sneaked up on the much taller girl due to his Faunus ability, it was also possible she'd heard Ridley approach with him, or was just sharp enough to catch what little presence he had.
I tried carrying the weight of the world But I only have two hands Hope I get the chance to travel the world But I don't have any plans Wish that I could stay forever this young Not afraid to close my eyes Life's a game made for everyone And love is the prize
She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
As they entered the courtyard, Ridley's eyes widened slightly, golden gaze moving slowly from each little detail to the next. It was exquisite, really. Even in her hurry, she wasn't sure how she had missed this. The luscious garden, the flowing tress, the twinkling fountain. It was even more stunning now, as it was all bathed in silvery moonlight. She let out a slow breath, spinning in a slow circle to take it all in. It really was beautiful. A part of her couldn't believe she was actually here. She had spent so long looking forward to l=this day, a part of it still felt like a dream.
Only when she stopped spinning did she notice that Donnelly wasn't beside her any longer. She blinked at the spot he had been standing, before turning her golden gaze across the courtyard. He was standing next to the redheaded girl that had rushed passed them out of the gym, staring at the entrance to Beacon. Ridley approached slowly, coming to stand shortly beside him. She arrived just in time to hear him speak. It was a bit of a surprise to hear him speak unprompted, but it also gave away a pleasant new side to him. As stoic as the Deer Faunus might be, there was still a bit of empathy in him.
His words about giving up struck a chord in her. She had been there. Ready to give it all up, but not just school, a career, a dream. All of it. Just end it all, forever. Subconsciously her fingers trailed over one of the long scars on her wrist. Circumstances might be much different, emotions, reasoning, consequences. They ere all different. However, on some form or another, Ridley felt she could relate to what this girl was feeling. There was so much she wanted to say, but just as much that she didn't know how to put into words. She was quiet for a moment, trying to decide if she wanted to add to Donnelly's statement or not. Finally, she let out a soft breath, dropping both her arms back to her side. "Usually... when it all seems hopeless or impossible... It's not. You just have to find the bit of hope in the chaos."

<< Angela Ziegler + Medic/Nurse >>
The cybernetic nurse Angela was walking through the courtyard. She had been given time off for the loss of her limbs and adjust to having them. She had some supplies in her bag and was carrying others in a box. Looking at the school many fond memories came back to her. "It’s good to be back..." She walked, the mechanical leg clunking along with loud thuds. As she got closer to some students her arm twitched, ripping the box. The contents all falling to the ground. She immediately grabbed her pack of cigarettes and lit one. Taking a deep drag. "SON OF A ******** b***h! Looking to her arm she sighed. She was glad to have the limb but even all the therapy at times had its limits. She took another drag, lowering her head. "This is going to be rough..."
××××[ She never expected to find herself joining the cause of humanity’s remains. In her eyes, she and the other members of the Authority of Beast would merely do their role in saving the world, and bringing things back into place. But now the Grimm have proven themselves to be beyond even their might. With no other choice, she finds herself in Vale, walking along the lonely streets of the cold night. “Let’s just put our bets on this academy. Because if I can’t find any new members before that thing reaches Vale, we’re all done for…” she says under her breath, thinking to herself long and hard about how to safeguard this locale. In the end, nothing comes to mind, and she’s left pondering the same cycle of thoughts over and over. But no matter what twists or turns she adds, it all comes down to that beast winning.
At some point, Rori’s legs had carried her before the front bridgeway to the academy. She had traveled on motor skills, progressing steadily, but with no direct focus on the matter. All she sees now is ruin, but hopefully within the walls of this academy, she’ll find even the faintest glimmer of light. A light she so desperately needs to preserve with all her power. “You’re all we have left, Beacon. All I ask for is one. Even just one more person… Because, I can’t give up on this world just yet. Not yet…” she pleads, her tired eyes staring up at the towering school. Here stands the last of her hopes. Now, the true challenge begins. ]

His scroll would stay open as he checked the time and his bang. God it was in the way. He'd poke it twice before shaking his head and closing the device. It was almost time. Time for the first lesson he'd teach. The man's eyes closed a bit as he felt the jacket restrict his movements and the shirt tighten around his arm under it. He wanted to just throw it all to the wind. The breeze against his chest, the ability to stretch in whatever direction he needed. But he couldn't at the moment, due to his professionalism. "Jeez." He'd mutter before pulling a small flask from within his jacket. His eyes closed as he took a swing of the content and winced lightly. He'd then close the top and began to slip it into his coat once more. The students this year seemed to be rather soft for the times they lived in. But the man wasn't too worried, as his eye would look forth at the sky and his body leaned against the fountain. The students were to learn all the basics and beyond for fighting from him, and he new quite a bit, but his main focus here was to see who knew what.
No one of the students had arrived, though with the festivities and the social callings, who'd blame them. It was all upto the clock now. They were to arrive at 9 and time was dwindling. Erin's hand moved his bang once more before he began to hum a tune, as if his vocal cords were a guitar of some sort. The song was calming to him as he rocked a bit back and forth on the fountain's edge. This was going to be a long semester, and a longer year.

After sleeping in the gym in the sleeping bag he brought, Donnelly got dressed in the Beacon Academy men's uniform and enjoyed a remarkly light breakfast in the cafeteria that he didn't even finish. He wasn't that big of an eater, after all... His sister called him an "un-glutton."
After breakfast, brushing his teeth, and a quick shower, the deer Faunus made his way to the courtyard, one hand holding a walking staff and the other reading a book as he walked. In addition to the uniform, the short and thin young man also wore his trademark cloak over it, hiding his mouth and neck.
Donnelly, likely due to taking so fast to eat breakfast, was the first to arrive for Combat class. He moved to stand a respectful distance away from the teacher, though his curiously red eyes didn't leave his book. "Guide to Beacon Combat Curriculum, Fifth Edition," it was titled. Well, at least he was reading productively...

××××[ The morning came so much slower than normal. Not having to be at constant alert of a sudden Grimm attack, or being picked off by rogue assassins, this city life isn’t so bad. Rori wakes up in a stretch, having slept outside the school building some distance away, she found comfort in the sheer upkeep of the local gardens and foliage. With a yawn, her tired eyes look around, once more attempting to register her current predicament. “...Right. I’m a student now. Guess, I should figure out what I’m supposed to be doing.” she comments, slowly getting herself up, and taking the chance to stretch out a bit more. With one last big pull on her toes, she lets all the tense and built up stress flow out. “Yosha.” It doesn’t take long for her to collect her bearings before placing her hands on her hips, and looking around. Her eyes notice a couple of other younger individuals making their way to the larger building off to the side, and having no other leads to work with, she follows some distance behind them.
With her training in the fields, she’s able to pretty easily trail behind the students without building suspicion. And lucky for her, it doesn’t look like any uniforms have been issued out, so she won’t have to worry about sticking out all too much for now. “Now where oh where are we going I wonder…” she says under her breath, finally making it to the large building. Inside, she notices quite a few receptionists welcoming students, and presenting them with what appears to be informative pamphlets of some sort. After lightly scratching her cheek with her index finger a bit, Rori slides her hands into her coat pockets and gets in the back of one of the lines. Eventually, she finds herself standing before a fairly pretty woman, likely in her mid to late twenties. After the two exchange greetings, Rori looks to the ground to think. “Hrm… Ah!” she starts “Sorry, I’m pretty new here. Not too sure about how things work, but, I should be a new student registering for the academy.” the woman nods, retaining her smile.
After Rori exchanges information with the woman, she’s soon told about the position she’s in. Seems like her team really did get her registered after all. “So, combat classes is it? Okay then...but where is it?” The woman, sparing no wasted time, gives her the answer right away. Initially, Rori wanted to question why their classes would be taking place in a location outside the school, first of all, but secondly in a space where people commonly pass through. It could be dangerous, but, well, what does she know. In the end, she grabs hold of her informational packet, thanks the receptionist, and moves aside back for the door. “So, back outdoors we go. And to the Courtyard. Judging by the time, I should make it.” she says, after looking over at a clock posting on the wall. Once she gets outside the building, she casually walks her way over to the Courtyard, which, wasn’t all too hard to find considering she had just come from there.
After arriving, she notices an older man standing against the fountain, and another individual not too far from here. That one must be the teacher, and the other...possibly a student? Rori, not really too interested in bothering them, walks a bit closer and drops down onto her bottom with crossed legs and arms. “Alright. So, just gotta wait for now then.” ]
Angela finished her cigarette, dropping the filter to the floor before stomping it out. She grabbed what had spilled and tossed it into her pack, it wasn't going to be a good day for her. With a small sigh she walked more fully into the courtyard. Giving a smile as she Erin leaning against the fountain. "Erin you son of a b***h, I have missed you. Always keeping me busy with work." She chuckled and joined him against the fountain. "They finally released me from the hospital. Saying I have enough control to not send people through the walls.” She used her mechanical leg to remained leaning, moving the hand and giving it a tight fist. "How have you been though?"

Jessica Morrison
Jessica was finishing her morning run when she got to the courtyard. The run helped her clear up her mind and thoughts, making that day her focus. When she got in she stretched a little. She was still in her combat outfit, her rifle slung onto her back, and the mask hiding all her facial scars. She looked to the teacher and gave a small salute. "Jessica Morrison reporting in Sir." Aftershe finished her stretching, but continued to look around. She had seen the deer Faunus in the gym but had never really interacted with the boy yet. With a self nod she went over to the boy, hand extended for a shake. "Jessica Morrison. You can call me Jess for short. What’s your name?

Walking into the courtyard she did remember where the courtyard was since she passed it going to the gym so it wasn't that difficult for her, walking in the first thing she saw was an older looking man leaning against the water fountain who she couldn't only assume was the teacher. But instead of teaching class he was just standing there so maybe she had gotten there just in time. Looking around she saw a few other students there with her so that was good, some of them were in uniform while others weren't. Xandria fixed her uniform a bit as she pulled up her thigh thighs and then adjusted her jacket, one girl in particular seem to stand out more than the others. One with the blonde hair who was wearing some short shorts and a white cut off tank top and a red jacket. She didn't know why but she couldn't help but watch her. But the moment the girl looked back at her she quickly looked away not wanting to get confronted; so went over and sat down on a bench as she folded her legs waiting for class to begin.
