That was it. Sinter sliced open the vitals and Tamiya took her chance.

Another psionic assault emerged from the subjugglator. "Stay... Dead!" She roared. The commander was weakening, but as its pieces began to reform she became more and more irritated.

"I'm going to squash you.... Into ******** pumpkinslush!" Shrieked Tamiya. She stormed over and began to slam her boot down on the dying form as hard and fast as possible. In no time, it stopped moving.

"Everyone! Into frame!" Tamiya announced. "We have done it. Alternia, we have done it!"

She shouted at the camera. Her decibels would definitely need to be adjusted later. With a dramatic flip on her heels, Tamiya turned back to her team. "Now, we must preserve our energy. Punkie, if you could. Drop me... A sick beat."

She proceeded to hum into a righteous chant.

Tamiya eviscerated the creature's brain, first psychically, then physically. It wasn't getting up anymore. Classic slapstick.

Sinter obediently took his place next to Tamiya as though he was taking part in a group picture. He offered his best camera smile, which looked like more of a wince. As soon as Tamiya became distracted by her holy business, Sinter wandered out of frame. That was enough of that.

Cautiously, Sinter inspected the truly immobile body of the commander. He prodded it carefully with the tip of his sword. He waited tensely for any signs of regeneration. What made it do that? Why didn't its brain regenerate? Or did it..? Sinter shuddered.

"We should keep moving. Ah. As soon as you're ready."

Punkie got onto the ground opposite Tamiya, and fallowed her lead in the humming. It was erratic humming, but the beat was a nice, mirthful beat of ups and downs, as neither troll really hummed in sync. Punkie could feel it, the magic, the mirth, the miracles.

With that Punkie stood up and nodded to the redblood Commander. "Ready Sir!"

Frossa heals via Tamiya's Troll Relations skill!
5+3=8



Recording the final moment of the mutated commander, the camera panned out to take in the final scene. Bits of muscle and rotting flesh sprinkled the floor. "Yaaaaay!" She retrieved the clicker from a pocket. Another sound bite, of roaring applause, played.

"Fantastic job everyone!" She cheered, swiveling the camera to each troll- then herself for a victory sign. "You saw it here tonight, viewers at home~! That daywalker hardly stood a chance against us. Did you feel a beamu of inspiration hit your bloodpusher~?" Frossa ushered the squadron together, popping in front of the others to tilt the selfie stick down at a flattering angle. It was a struggle to fit both her and Tamiya in frame. "Smiiiileee~"

Once the chanting began, Frossa focused the camera back and forth between the two juggalos, thoroughly documenting the ritualistic ceremony. She gave Sinter a little camera time, too- gauging his reaction, if anything else. Returning to the juggalos she began flipping through the different filters preprogrammed into the camera, looking for one that fit the mood. One that was pulsating a rainbow effect seemed to match nicely!

As Tamiya ended her most holy of rituals, she sighed and looked up with certainty. "Trollfolk. Beautiful creatures, terrible ho's.... We would like to grace this Condescension with the blessing of Alternian Cultists, and the Superstar Authority. And we are going to do it. So it shall be, Huzzah."

Tamiya reached into her uniform pocket and presented a packet of glitter to her teammates. She threw her portion up into the air and suddenly noticed something in the distance.

"Something is banging behind that door over there. Quickly! The stardust! Then we ride!"

The room beyond the door seems empty from the hallway, but stepping inside you are swiftly aware that you are not alone! For lurking in the corner is a dark groaning shape. As it turns towards you, you realize you are entering strife!

If this is your fourth mini-boss fight, you have reached one of the steering systems! Roll 1d4 in the spoiler below:

1 - The other teams appear to have been successful in their endeavors. There's enough power available for you to reengage the system. The entire room illuminates and roars with life. It's perhaps dangerous to hang around in here too long, but in the meantime the amount of energy in the air makes you feel powerful.
2 - The tendrils of the ship's wiring look like a crime scene, or perhaps a particularly gory nest. Headquarters gives you harried instructions to shut down and isolate the area before the whole ship goes up in flames.
3 - An undead helmsman is still tethered to the center console. They don't have the ability to provide power, but their presence is preventing the back-up systems from triggering. You remove the zombie and the system reengages successfully.
4 - The room is dark and cold, but with instructions from headquarters and the efforts of the teams on the other decks, the system has enough power to reboot itself. The ship begins to thrum with life. It makes your horns tingle and your hair stand on end.
Congratulations! You have completed your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in!

BOSS HP: 34/40

Tubrous, pulsing masses. Just like the commander, but trapped within the door behind them. Tamiya felt a bit sick looking at them, clutching at her weapon with knuckles whitening.

"We have more of the same. Except much ******** more!" She announced. The juggalo skirted across the floor and thrust herself into battle. There was no point in holding back!

Punkie watched the older juggalo surge forward, and she fallowed. Every juggalo needs to keep out an eye for their jugga-bro. The orangeblood jumped at the large... mass of zombie parts. It was hard to tell what was what on the thing. Was it a mass of lusi all formed together? Was it a severely mutated and decaying troll? Either way, it needed to know the facts; "To the dirt with you, ******** atrocity!"

Frossa had been focused on getting a shot of the glitter scattered across the floor- it'd make for a great fade out!

When she looked back up, she was met with the daunting sight of pulsating masses. Her eyes widened. "Oh, wow." She gasped in honest surprise. The camera zoomed past Tamiya, panning shakily over the twisting amalgamation. Had whatever happened to the captain infected all the daywalkers in this area, too?

Rising, she swivelled the camera back to her team. "Sinter," she called out, aiming the camera at him. "Go in for the flank again! Punkie-" the juggalo was already in the fray. "Focus on severing any limbs you can, hack 'em all off!" Tamiya was already working on bludgeoning the mass full on. "Keep it up Tamiya! Woo! Go team!" Frossa joined the juggalos, brandishing her weapon in one hand and the selfie stick in the other.

Tamiya surged past Sinter, followed closely but Punkie. Sinter rounded the corner and stopped cold at the sight of the twisted, undulating masses. His blood chilled. These used to be people. They were more tumor than troll at this point. It was difficult to tell what was an honest attempt at forward momentum and what was just a byproduct of their anatomy.

"Oh... Oh god."

Sinter vaguely heard his name being called. It sounded far away. Belatedly, he looked for the source, registered what Frossa had said, and then moved into action.

The masses were filling the arena. There wasn't much flank to speak of. That, or it was entirely flank. Sinter wasn't entirely sure how many bodies the daywalker force consisted of. Sinter hesitated without a clear target, and began slashing down at any limb that got too close. The wounds regenerated readily. "We're going to need more firepower!"

Sinter does 2 damage... that's totally negated!

Frossa attacks with her novice trinket!
Frossa deals 7 DMG.

Boss HP: 20


Frossa propped the camera off to the side delicately, switching the selfie stick into a tripod with the flip of a few mechanisms. Drawing back, satisfied, she winked at the camera and once again readied her weapon.

Planting her feet firmly against the ship floor, she then launched herself at the groaning masses. Swinging her weapon above her head, Frossa let out a shrill cry. "Heads up, everyone~!" She arched her arm wide and sent the ball of her flail flying upwards at an angle, well above her teammates. With a snap of her wrist the chain whizzed down and around the top heap of the mass of bodies. The spiked ball wedged itself around the back of the mass of horns and tumors, chain digging into the throbbing wall of exoskeleton as Frossa successfully ensnared a portion of the amalgamation.

"C'mon! Go go go!" The mass let out another long, gurgled noise as it was pulled to the side, struggling to recollect it's momentum.

Punkie gave Sinter a pap on the back. "Fear not captain! This is what you brought us bitches for, right?" The juggalo ducked down when Frossa shouted, and she grinned wide as the heads fell.

"Wonderful!" Punkie shouted to her team, as everyone seemed to come together to attack. "The Messiahs must surely be looking down upon this shitstorm with bright eyefronds!" Punkie let out a war cry of "Whoops!" as she join in the attack.

The heaving mass was stymied by Frossa’s flail. Tamiya watched with wonder as Frossa completed her acrobatics, looking for an opportunity to strike. Her bludgeoning weapon would only do so much to a contorted mob. Sidestepping around one of the limbs, nursing her wounds, Tamiya suddenly spotted her orange protege. Filled with vigor, the troll would not last much longer in her current physical state.

“Vielli!” Tamiya shouted. She planted a boot in one of the writhing forms before something -- some kind of hand-- caught her ankle. A pang of fear made the color drain behind her make-up. She swiftly stomped the amorphous limb in two, limping with it still hooked onto her. Her hands were wide open, ready for healing. “I will restore you,” she announced, and pricked her companion with her metallic touch.

Sinter continued to hack at the limbs of the creatures, which in turn continued to regenerate with near equal ferocity. What Sinter could only assume were nails and teeth tore at his body as he tried to stay within the range of his own weapon. He couldn't keep up this pace much longer.

Frossa dealt the beasts a heavy blow, stunning the masses. Punkie, in turn, used the opening to dive upon their opponents. A spray of muddled, grayish blood arced out of the mass. Punkie herself was nearly taken out in the attack, but Tamiya pulled her from the carnage.

Sinter slashed an opening for himself and ran from the brambles of arms. He slid himself between the monsters and Tamiya as she treated Punkie's wounds. Bones and cartilage glanced off the blade of his sword. "Hurry-!" Sinter shouted. A claw hooked him around the arm and dragged him into the throng.

Sinter does 6 damage!
