At least, like the last time, Sarcel had rage on her side. Take on the next one by herself? Okay, sure, fine, whatever. She looked at the abomination wearily, her fist clenched, the sheer power radiating off of the mass making her hair stand on end.
Was that directed at the blob, or Kursha, or both? Probably both. In the back of her mind, she worried for Elidae and Lorata. Hopefully taking the first hit would be enough to help.

Before she even knew it, Elidae was panting heavily, exhaustion beginning to take over. Every slash of her blades began to feel like a chore, and these things were utterly terrifying. And hungry. "Grrr!" She speedily dodged an oncoming attack, before whipping her leg around and knocking the creature over. A blade sunk deep into its skull.

"What are these things!?" Lorata stabbed out at the masses, trying mostly just to keep them away from her at this point, because nothing seemed to be hurting them as much as it should. She cast a hopeful look at the Captain and Sarcel, hoping they had some clue that she didn't, though she didn't know why they would know anything she didn't about the ships.

Health: 29 Military Weapon +1 Eagle Eyes: 3/3 Grandmaster Leadership, Novice Covert Ops, Training Academics “No idea!” Kursha called back, between fire. “Hey Cincil, you wanna make that a date?” No sooner had he finished speaking, than the blob rushed towards him. He fired a shot but it absorbed the ammunition like it was nothing and crashed over him like a tidal wave. The greenblood smashed into a wall with an audible crack. As the masses retreated, he lurched away, coughing up ichorous slime. [ Kursha does 2 damage.]

This was not good.
Sarcel was swearing under her breath as her team got absolutely thrashed. They'd all been hit hard, and if not for the severity of the situation, she might've find satisfaction in the way Kursha was slammed into the wall. Instead, she was wound up with an immense need to get this thing killed as quickly as possible.
The psionic energy coming off of the mass was absolutely excruciating. It made her eyes water and her head pulse, but at least it didn't make the tears fall.

"HUH?!" Elidae stopped dead in her tracks, giving the back of the greenblood's head a cross between horrified and shocked face. It wasn't the right time to be asking someone out on a date and it certainly threw his moiral through a loop!! Why hadn't he told her about his feelings for the lieutenant?! Elidae stabbed one of the masses in frustration. How dare he?! She was then knocked back rather violently by an invisible force. "Wha-?"

She couldn't even pay what the Captain was saying as much attention as she wanted to at this point. There was something very wrong with these creatures beyond what was obvious just by looking, but she couldn't exactly put her finger on what until she swung her partisan down and found it stopped midair by the tell-tale glow of psionics.

Health: 25 Military Weapon +1 Eagle Eyes: 3/3 Grandmaster Leadership, Novice Covert Ops, Training Academics Okay. So maybe he had underestimated the opponent. Trying to shake the ringing from his skull, Kursha checked his rifle. No good. The weapon had been swallowed up in ooze the same as him. Attempting to fire now could result in blockage. He had no desire to lose another arm. Kursha unclipped a grenade from his belt. He pulled the pin and drew his arm back to throw. “Incoming!” he yelled, loud enough that everyone could hear. [ Kursha does 4 damage.]

"Lieutenant, I-!" Before Elidae could respond to Sarcel, that blast of energy hit the yellowblood hard, throwing her like a doll across the floor. She skid hard, every inch of her body suffering from the psionic affliction. After laying there for a long moment, the yellowblood struggled to life herself up off the floor, groaning in pain. The energy she once had drained, the girl now running on just fumes.

Lorata tried to back away again, after that, eyes darting around the room in growing fear. She had reached up to pull her goggles down over her eyes, but her fingers had fumbled over the button that would turn them on and she hadn't gotten a chance again since she had been attacked again. She felt weak and in pain, but she could still...there!
Darting forward, she swung down one more time and put all her strength into it. The countering wave of psionics sent her crashing into a wall, where she slumped to the ground.

Kursha cursed under his breath. It seemed weakened from the grenade, but he needed it dead. In addition to the physical battle, they were losing the psychic assault. Elidae and Lorata both had collapsed. Kursha's blood pusher tore at the sight. He snarled, jumping into melee. The butt of the rifle smashed into the center of the mass, sending spray everywhere. “Keep it together!” [ Kursha does 1 damage.]

Kursha pursued them with his rifle, filled with adrenaline and resolve despite the dizziness from the blow to his head. Cornering one against the wall, he swung his weapon. The heavy stock of the weapon obliterated it, spraying the air with, pale green mist. It did not move again. Turning, Kursha readied the weapon for his next assault. [ Kursha does 4 damage.]

Holding onto the very fiber of her conscious, Elidae attempted to stand, every part of her body throbbing in pain.agony. Where were her teammates? Head lulling, she spotted her moirail not too far away, with Cincil holding her own. Where was Lorata?
Seeing the purpleblood crumbled on the floor put her in instant panic.
"Lora-Lorataaa...!" The yellowblood wheezed, gripping her side as she staggered haphazardly towards the collapsed body of Lorata Gorgos. Shoving any rational thought aside, Elidae in turn pushed herself past the point of her physical capabilities to reach the creatures zeroing in on her friend. Tears clouded her vision.
"Da-Damn it..!" Her voice escaped her and pitched. When her blade met with the daywalkers, the whizz of psionics accompanied the sound of crunching metal. A cry escaped her lips when an incredible force sent her flying back and a horrible pain pulsated in her head. As the last body of the insatiable masses fell, as did their teammate's. The left leg appeared mangled and unsalvagable, fortunately lacking blood.
Slow motion. Only what felt like an eternity, her eyes clouded and her vision seemed to dissipate, the light growing weaker and weaker. Lorata removed from her sight, Elidae's bloodpusher seemed to quicken at alarming speeds while she pushed every fiber of her body to move, before falling dangerously low. She gasped her last conscious breath. Darkness enveloped her.

Elidae laid motionless, back facing the ceiling. Gold liquid oozed from her sniffnodes and mouth, pooling around her placid face. With her swollen eyes at rest, the tiniest of breaths escaped her mouth, slow and ragged. They dwindled over time.
