As relieved as he was that they eventually agreed to food, he was doubtful that anyone would deliver to an abandoned warehouse, of all places. It felt sort of like putting a giant target on the building, or like he should save the restaurant the trouble and call the cops himself. "I can try and order something for you guys but I don't know if anyone would deliver here," he said, brows furrowing a little as doubt clouded his features. "They might think it's some sort of joke at best. D'you want me to try though?"

Further discussion followed Abel's revelation about the prospects of delivery arriving at the warehouse.
Halcon lowered the gun a little more. "Okay, then give us money to buy something. That works out the same, yes?" He ran his tongue over his lips and swallowed hard, eyes darting from side to side. "And... You're sure Luciana left?"
"So far as we know," Zevran said from around the corner, sticking to English to keep Abel in the loop. "We know she escaped alive, and after that she must have returned to Antiva - she had no reason to stay."

"Y-yes," the taller blond replied a little doubtfully, because... Well. "If I bought it for you then I'd be able to pay for all of it, but if I just give you some cash it might not be enough for whatever you want to go get -- and plus I'd feel better knowing you guys got enough to eat. But I can just give you what cash I have in my wallet instead, if you want," he added with an easy shrug. Truthfully he'd begun thinking of buying them food and also giving them money, partly because that would give them food now and also for later, and because he didn't generally keep much cash in his wallet. When did he ever really need cash for anything? Except to give to hungry homeless kids, apparently.
Poor things though, they looked so scared... Or at least the boy did. Abel could feel them tug on his heartstrings with every fearful look or movement, and each tug made the urge to protect them even stronger. But how could he help them when they didn't trust them? "All I know is Luciana ran out before Sonia scared you two off, and we'd thought all three of you went back to Antiva together. You guys obviously didn't, but I think - I hope - she did." The skin on the back of his neck began to prickle at the thought another Crow had remained in Camphoreon and could come for Zev at any time, but... so much time had passed, had she really stayed? "I think she only came because... she owed a favor or something?" He glanced sideways to Zev for confirmation because he couldn't remember the various reasons why Taliesen's entourage came with him to Kodo. "If so, then hopefully she thought her favor repaid and left; like Zev said, she didn't have any reason to stay here. Either way we haven't seen her since that night."

"A favour," Zevran confirmed. "Once..." Once Taliesen was dead, slumped on the concrete. "She would have had no reason to remain," he repeated as he pushed down a wave of nausea. "I imagine she was keen to get back to Antiva and make her excuses to the masters."
The teens exchanged a look and then nodded to Abel in unison.
"Right, that does make sense... And yes, that's fine, and then you'll leave?" Halcon said warily. After a pause he pointed out; "You've no reason to help us, we were trying to kill you. Why should you feel bad that we could have been hurt? We're nobody to you."
Zevran closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead, how many times had he said something like that to Abel? More than once, certainly. It sounded quiet sad to hear it from somebody else, from a child. s**t. They didn't deserve the things that had been done to them. He supposed he hadn't either.

It was deja vu all over again; how many times had he heard Zevran say much the same thing? Abel shrugged, unable to keep the faintly amused smile from his face. "This sounds awfully familiar. But seriously, if I see someone that needs help, I want to help them -- I can't help it. That's how I was raised. And it's not like you were the ones that wanted to come here in the first place, were you? I bet you were just doing as you were told. And even right now when you're pointing those at me," he gestured vaguely with one of his hands still up in the air to the weapons they still held, "you're just defending yourselves, you're scared, I could never fault you for that." All he wanted to do was take them to a restaurant or something, feed them as much as they could eat, and take them somewhere safe and warm, but he knew that wouldn't happen -- not with how wary and afraid they were. What else could he say? Probably not much. Damn... How could they just leave them here like this though?

Halcon's pink eyes narrowed at Abel's smile and the line of his lips, previously a little softened, went flat and thin again. "Familiar? What are you saying?" The sentiment about wanting to help seemed to confuse the teen more than anything, his hard expression morphed into a faintly bemused frown.
Salome was frowning too, possibly because she was having to translate in her head as she went along. Once she had caught the gist of what was happening she gave a sharp laugh and rolled her eyes. "Oh, nice man wants to take care of me. I feel so safe!"
//He's not asking us to go anywhere Salome, maybe-//
//Maybe not yet! I don't trust either of them.//
//Well neither do I but Zevran left the Crows so... so I don't know what I'm saying. Just... uh... okay, you take the gun and I'll go over to him.//
Salome grimaced and took the gun from Halcon, keeping it at the same angle as he'd held it at even rather than raising it as she rather looked like she wanted to.
Halcon meanwhile moved towards Abel like a wary animal and glanced back at Salome, who nodded. "Okay, you can reach into your pocket but slowly please."
Around the corner Zevran shifted restlessly again and wished he'd been able to catch the murmured Spanish that had passed between the two, he didn't think that they would be planning an attack but he wasn't certain that they weren't either.

"Ah, sorry," Abel replied, his tone and expression apologetic. Of course they wouldn't know what he meant by that, but it came to his mind and so he said it, and now he couldn't un-say it. At least it wasn't anything bad. "It's familiar because Zevran used to say stuff like that after I first met him. I didn't really expect to meet anyone else like that."
It was his turn to look faintly bemused when the boy stood and approached him - he fully expected them to stay as far away as possible while he dropped cash on the floor and then left for them to pick it up after they were gone - but the more he thought about it, the more it made sense for him to approach him. After all, if Abel pulled out a gun then the boy could try to keep him from shooting one or both of them, whereas if he pulled it out with them too far away he could easily shoot them both. Not that he would do so even if he did have a gun on his person today, but they didn't know that. They only knew what they could see.
"Alright, I'll get my wallet," he said with a small nod, doing as the boy asked and reached for it slowly. Too slowly, it felt like, but he wouldn't even entertain the thought of hastening his movements. The only thing that'd get him was a bullet somewhere. Or a couple bullets. Getting shot still wasn't on his agenda for the day. After his hand reached his pocket, he pulled his wallet out just as slowly, trying to angle it in such a way so that they'd be able to see fairly quickly that it was, indeed, just a wallet. As he opened it he added, "I don't normally carry much cash on me, but I'll give you what I have." Damn, why didn't he have more on him? No, he knew the answer to that, and it was because he rarely ever needed cash for anything.
Oh well, there wasn't much he could do about it at the moment, so he simply pulled out all the bills from his wallet and offered them out for the teen to take, still making sure to keep his posture relaxed and as non-threatening as he could.

Despite their discussion Halcon looked surprised when Abel actually took his wallet out and held out the bills he had; the teen hesitated a moment before snatching them and shoving them into his pocket. "You really feel bad?" he said incredulously.
"Of course," Zevran said from around the corner, his hands still flexing with restless energy. "Abel knows what the Crows are capable of, I certainly do. You... It wasn't fair what they did to you, but you know you don't have to go back now?"
Salome looked suspiciously past Abel's shoulder, towards where Zevran's voice was coming from, but she nodded sharply. "I'm not going back."
Halcon looked more unsure but he nodded too as he backed away from Abel. "Right, we can do what we want now. Kodo is fine for now, but it has a lot of monsters."

Once the teen took the money he'd offered, Abel shut his wallet and pocketed it again slowly, and once that was done he held his hands still once more. "Zev's right. And I'm glad you don't want to go back, I've heard and seen more than enough about them to know that's not anywhere anyone should be." Zevran's myriad scars and his terrifying brush with death weeks ago came to mind first, but he shook his head a little to dispel the memories.
"There's a lot of pokemon here, yeah," he ceded with a small nod of his head, trying to think of what exactly to say. "They're not all bad though, there's a lot that are good. They can be excellent partners. I've had some for years that I don't know where I'd be if I didn't have them. I got those in other regions though, a lot of places have just as many pokemon as Kodo does. I know it's a lot different than what you're used to, being here - Zev learned that too when he came, I'm sure - but we can help if you want. And before you ask, we don't want anything in exchange for helping." He sincerely doubted they'd believe him, but what could he do? He wanted to help them so badly but would they accept help? They accepted the money at least, and hopefully they'd use it to buy food, but...
Another thought occurred to him and his gaze shifted between the two ex-apprentices again. "If we brought food here - and more money too if you want - would you take it?"

"There's some that hang out around here, they seem okay," Halcon admitted warily. He soon frowned a little however and added; "Small ones, with small teeth."
"They look good eat," Salome added more harshly.
"Uh, yes," Halcon glanced to his partner, muttered in Spanish and listened in turn before he turned back to Abel. "We will consider it, and what you've said."

They'd have to introduce them to some sometime, if they ever got the chance to. Hopefully they would...
'They look good eat?' What?
Abel managed to avoid showing his confusion at that statement and instead nodded his head a little. "Alright, that's fair. I guess that's it then." Time for him and Zev to leave, even though he didn't want to do anything more than to feed the poor kids. And it was too bad about Zev's things... hm. "You're sure that you sold everything that was here? Except the hammock?" It'd be nice if they at least left with something of Zev's - apart from the hammock they obviously weren't taking - but it sounded like there wasn't anything else left for them to take. Asking one last time couldn't hurt though, and then they could leave.

"Everything of his, yeah," Halcon confirmed with a gesture to the wall Zevran was standing behind. "I mean, if you want you can go look for the broken phones we threw away. They looked like they'd been chewed so," the blond tried to disguise a shudder, "I guess we know what you had your monsters do to Taliesen and the others."
Salome's stance and expression tensed and she nodded to Halcon's conclusion, it seemed that she didn't like it any more than he did.
Out in the hallway Zevran had tensed too and he squeezed his eyes shut, Azul must have spat out... spat out the bits he didn't like the taste of. He clenched his fists and exhaled slowly and quietly as he focused on not being sick. Had there been anything else the savage water type had rejected? He could imagine the Sharpedo spitting out a mangled boot once he had finished.... Ugh.

"Ah, we... we might," he said, focusing less on the phones and more on the accusations. At first he felt the need to refute them, that no he hadn't told them to eat Taliesen and the others, but instead guilt tinged his expression and he averted his gaze, his brows knitting together a little. "I... left Sonia in charge, seen as I was a little, ah, preoccupied," images of Zevran bleeding and rapidly nearing death haunted his mind, and he suppressed a shudder and the cold feeling of dread that accompanied it, "but... yeah, I suppose I did." Even if he'd left it up to Sonia what to do about the situation, she was still his, and he had been the one to train her, so in the end it was his fault they'd all been eaten.
He suppressed another shudder at the thought.
"Alright, well, we'll get out of your hair then," he said finally, his gaze returning to the pair of them. While he did still want to feel him, he suddenly felt vaguely ill, and wasn't sure if he even wanted lunch anymore. Mostly he just wanted to go home and have a drink. Or three. "We'll see you guys around sometime maybe, I guess." Like when they brought food and more money for them sometime -- perhaps tomorrow.

"Perhaps," Salome replied guardedly and she waved the gun a little, though she didn't actually go as far as to raise it. "Now go."
As soon as Abel stepped out of the doorway Zevran turned and headed down the stairs quickly and quietly, ears straining for any sound coming from the room. If the apprentices - former apprentices had wanted to hurt them they probably would have done so by now but people could be unpredictable when they were frightened. At the bottom he turned and looked back up for a moment before looking to Abel; though it wasn't terribly easy to tell in the gloom of the warehouse he had paled a little. "Let's go," he muttered with quiet urgency, "I do not want to linger in here." Somewhere around here- somewhere- s**t, s**t, s**t. His own pokemon had- and it had spat out his phone.

Well.... well. That was that then. Abel turned and left without saying another word.
Out in the hall Zev did much the same, and for that the taller blond was more than a little glad; what could he really say at the moment? Nothing came to mind, so he simply followed him quietly down the stairs and tried to listen for any noises from the room he'd left.
Abel halted when his boyfriend did, and -- was he a little pale? It was hard to tell in the low lighting, but if he was he couldn't blame him. "Alright," he agreed readily, but a thought struck him and he hesitated. "Did you... want to look for the phones they tossed? If you want them but don't want to look around then I'll do it, and you can wait in the car if you want, I don't mind." What would he even do with the phones once they found them? They were no doubt broken and perhaps not even functional anymore, but either way one of them had belonged to Taliesen. If it meant giving Zevran something of his old friend's, then he'd gladly rummage around the building for it, even if he didn't particularly care to what with everything that had happened in it before.
