A human child, indeed.
Rojo didn't wave, mostly because he had wandered behind the smallish hunter at this point and doubted Lex could see him. What he did do was stare at the back of the boy's head. He was very good at it.

"Huh? Seren? Um." Lex looked over at the man whose hand Seren had a hold of. "Rhys, I'm guessing? Hi, Lex. Seren's been teaching me things." Lex offered the man a small smile and a hand, then whipped his head back to Seren. "I saw you guys leaving and decided to follow? I was bored as hell; anyway, there's a campground we can go to? I love campi-" Lex found himself cut off by a small child, no... what the hell was that!? "A-a-ahhhhhh..." Lex quietly began to moan, realizing that this was one of the monsters. It was oddly cute, though, with antlers and not at all looking scary. But that wasn't the point; hell, it was probably disguising itself to appear innocent. The teen slowly backed up, running into something hard. Lex turned around, and Rojo was lucky he didn't have ears. The blood curdling scream, followed by the panicked sobs, were loud enough to chase off any wildlife within a half mile. Any and all concern Seren had was well placed, as Lex was now on his a**, trembling.

She pulled Rhys closer, and leaned against him a bit. "I came on patrol, wanted to see some fall color. Not something we ever had at home, much, so I figured a day here would be a good way to do it, and since it tends to be less... of the dangerous sorts here, from what I've seen..." She shrugged, and squeezed his hand. When Tok handed him his photo, she giggled, just a little, peering at it too, and then showed him hers, in turn. "She has filters on, it's interesting." She smiled at Lex, and nodded. "Yeah, this is Rhys." She shrugged and said "I don't know if we're allowed to camp here, per se. I know we can come here to patrol. I've never stayed overnight, myself, and as it gets colder, I have no desire to do so, either." She was going to continue, but his reactions to Toki and the skeleton she did not know was enough to have her moved towards him, letting Rhys' hand go, worried about the young man. "Whoa, whoa, Lex." She offered him her hand, to help him up. "The young lass over there is Toki. She won't hurt you, she's very nice, and takes photos." She glanced at Rojo, and said "I don't know this fellow, though he seems to be an acquaintance of Toki's...?" She was being protective, however, of the younger teen.

"Hmm? I cannot hear you, what is "ah-ah" -- AAAAAAAHHH!" Is sympathy screaming a thing? Today it is. "Why do you scream?! Do you want to attract the murderers?! They lurk in this forest, I just know it -- ohhh. Are you nervous? Hahaha! This isn't even my final form! It's, uh, super terrifying! I have poisonous skin. And laser eyes. Muahahahaha! ...Actually no. This is it. I don't really have all that," She says, in the somewhat defensive way someone would say they don't really look like their dating profile photo. She doesn't really know what to do (children in general are not her forte) so she...waves again. Tries harder to look amiable. Carhop Cavalier lex more like lulx i love him "Oh, Rojo! When did you get over there? I suppose you have not met some of these humans. Rojo, meet the humans! The blue one is Seren and the other one is Rhys. They are mates. How nice. This is Rojo, who is my senior in school! He is very stylish. I am quite jealous. I, uh, I do not know who the small screaming human child is. Hello again, human child! Who are you? Hey, why are you avoiding my eyes?" Who knows? Maybe because she opened her big mouth and lied about them being lasers. Who knows.

He didn't add to the screaming, but Rojo did take a couple of quick steps back when the young human set off a chain of them. He had never been to the human world on any sort of FEAR-gathering mission before, but after hearing Lex scream, a spark of curiosity regarding such things ignited in the skeleton for the first time.
"It is wonderful to meet you, Seren and Rhys and... Lex?" He looked to the other less chatty humans there with a nod of acknowledgment as well. "I am indeed Rojo, and I have lovely hair and ears." He held up his photo with an open-jawed grin.
"And you shouldn't be jealous," he said to Toki. "We can go shopping whenever you'd like!"

Panic had stopped, and Lex's breathing had settled back into a bit more of a regular rhythm, and Seren's words started seeping in, making sense. These were friendly monsters? Those existed? Lex blinked rapidly. "So...you're telling me not all the ghosts and goblins out there want to scare our pants off or bake our bones into bread?" Of course Lex knew that wasn't what monsters did - the orientation had gone over that. Halloween collected FEAR from them, and weren't allowed to kill, lest they face severe consequences. He'd just been shocked to see them for real, he supposed. Now what was that about laser eyes? "Lex, yeah. Lex." He stood up, giving Toki and Rojo an apologetic smile. Should he shake their hand? No, no. That would just be weird. "Ah, sorry about earlier." Quite embarrassing. "Seren says you like to take pictures?"

Rhys was lightly leaning against her as well, nodding along as she explained herself. And then Toki handed him his photo he squinted at the result, not sure if he was amused or worried but figuring it'd be fine since this was Toki. "Thanks," he said as he took the offered photo, "and I did change my hair and clothes a little." He chuckled then as he shook his head. "And we don't evolve, we just buy new clothes and ask someone to cut or style our hair for us."
He would have continued with his explanation but Toki's attention shifted suddenly to Lex, which he was fine with, so he turned back to Seren and compared their photos. "It is interesting." He wasn't entirely sure what else to call it though--it wasn't bad, just different and unexpected. While he was thinking Lex had swung by and they shook hands very briefly...
And then he screamed and Rhys stared like he'd never stared at anything before in his life. Luckily Seren was there so he, being the other adult there, didn't have to worry about consoling him at all. He just happily stood back and watched and stared for a little while as Lex calmed down.
Meanwhile, he saw Rojo and gave the skeleton--for some reason he wasn't so phased by the unfamiliar student because Toki seemed to know him--a nod to greet him. "Rhys," he very briefly introduced himself before turning his attention back to Seren and Lex.
"I'd think majority are, but the ones we usually run into are alright? That's my experience, anyway. You should ask around."

"They need FEAR to live, Lex, not eat us. I suspect we wouldn't be very healthy for them." She glanced at Toki, and said "And Toki is wonderful, a good photographer, and has a lovely sense of humor." She did not wish to insult her friend, and she DID want Lex to feel better about the situation he had found himself in. Her eyes traveled around the group, again, then she refocused, this time on the Skeleton she was meeting. "A pleasure, Rojo. Your hair and ears are impeccable, as is your sense of fashion. It is a pleasure to meet such a distinguished gentleman." This situation was quite crowded, and she was choosing the most diplomatic route, now that Lex was here, rather then being silly or jokey. As far as she was concerned, Lex was her responsibility now that he was here, especially since he'd come by following her. "Is that a current trend in Halloween, or are you just a fashion forerunner?" She rested a free hand on Lex's shoulder, pondering the idea of asking Rhys to escort him out of here as soon as she could politely bring it up. The fingers of the hand holding Rhys' began to gently caress his palm, in an absent gesture of affection.

"Haha! What an odd child. So free with your Fear. No wonder jumpscares are so in vogue these days. Anyway, smile smile smile!" " Oooh, look at that, an incubus. What a little heartbreaker. Well, humans live finite lives, so be sure to sire many children!" Toki holds out the photo, happy to spout unnecessarily damaging life advice 'til the end of her days. "Oooh, it's so nice that people here appreciate your sense of fashion. So classy and timeless. I must bring you shopping in my hometown sometime, Rojo." She looks over at the humans. It is just too bad they cannot follow along inside Halloween. So many photo chances wasted. Ah, well. Such is life. "Maybe if I keep holding on to the clothes, they'll have enough Fear to last long enough for you to wear them..."
So many ideas.
