As the others danced around the monster, lunging in to hit it hard with attacks, Cerpin came around the other side to flank it. If they could contain it to a space, they could control its movements and protect their back line. He saw an opening and took it, bringing his blade high up into the air and slamming it down on top of the creature. It cleaved in half and crumbled to the ground. The purpleblood kicked at it, not having much sympathy for the fallen military officers. He'd been disturbed by the stark amount of death surrounding them on these ships but lacked sympathy to those loyal to the crown and thus loyal to the spectrum.

"Everyone aite?" He glanced his colleagues over, making sure they didn't move on without tending to any wounds that might slow them down. He had some scratches on him but honestly, he wasn't doing that bad.

      Forera felt a little tuckered out, but it wasn't anything too bad. She looked around for Cerpin, checking to see he was alright before her eyes wandered to Tevini and finally, to Lorata. "Ya'll did SO ********' GOOD!" Forera exclaimed excitedly, punching the air with a wide grin on her face. "Didya see how badass fishie girl looked?? And Curly, yer powers are so cooooool, ho-lee shiet!! Cerp, ya never disappoint, kehehe." Forera gave Lorata a thumbs up, and used said thumbs up as a fist bump for Cerpin and Tevini. They were definitely doing good, even if it'd taken them a little longer than normal!

Lorata shook out her arm once the lusus had fallen over dead. The strength it had taken to hold her ground against its attack had left it feeling sore and even a bit weak. She wouldn't allow that, though, since the fight was not done. With a grateful nod to the mercenary for her words (after a moment of deciding how she felt about being called 'fishie girl'), she shifted her partisan from hand to hand then left it in her left. The right arm could rest until the next battle.

"Mm." Tevini nodded to the others as they questioned and recapped the battle. She let them talk while she followed along quietly. She appreciated their kindness and concern, just didn't feel like she deserved it for that performance back there. She'd have to do better next time. Thankfully the ringing had stopped now that a few minutes had passed. The redblood rubbed the back of her head for a moment to check how tender it felt and decided to yep not touch it again until they were back at the base and she could take a painkiller.

"Yeah? How about you and all that damage?" Cerpin laughed and lightly punched Forera's shoulder with a grin. He was pretty stoked about their victory and thought they'd done a great job. Maybe all that training was paying off because he didn't feel tired or hurt one bit! What a rush, taking on a huge ship like this. He only hoped they'd be able to see it fly.

Once everyone seemed to be as rested as they were going to get, Lorata glanced over the room the beast had been guarding, found it wanting of anything properly useful or interesting, and turned on her heel to leave it behind. "That was good work, but the control room must be further in. We're making good progress!" The corridor seemed to stretch on forever.

"About a dozen." She squinted, leaning against Forera, well behind, to get a good look. The tealblood was stronger than her so Tevini didn't feel as much shame in relying on her to keep the zombies away. Having warned the others, the redblood moved back now to get out of the way of the oncoming fight. If they needed her she would jump in but if they didn't, she was content to sit this one out. Tevini wasn't exactly known for her bravery. She had moments, sure, but for the most part liked to stay on the back line.

And then abruptly that empty hallway gave way to the shambling undead crew members she had initially expected. There was something troubling in the relief at that sight, in the knowledge that she had become so used to them already that she didn't fear them. Or perhaps not. She wouldn't shake her head at any advantage she could get against these creatures.

"Crap-" Another round of daywalkers had arrived but Cerpin's cape had gotten stuck on some kind of device attached to the wall. Sometimes little bits of metal had a way of snagging on it and he struggled to get himself free in time to join in the fray. It was embarrassing for this to happen in front of the others but there wasn't much he could do about it. He shot Tevini a sheepish grin as if to say 'yeah, yeah, I know, that was dumb'.

      Capes were dumb in general, especially Cerpin's cape, but it was funny to watch him get stuck. Forera stomped over to him, getting rid of the zombies around that area and grabbing the cape after getting rid of the rest of them and tossing it at the purpleblood. "Keep it safe, ya dumb!"

She didn't need to say anything. She simply gave him a look before turning to investigate a door that had caught her eye while the others worked to fend off the zombies. If she could get this door to open they could leave this section and find a safe place away from them.

"I want to check out this door, if that's okay with you all." Tevini reached down into her tool kit, rummaging for just the right item.

"Yo, I think something's ******** with this door. It won't open." No amount of pushing or kicking was getting it to budge. That meant it was probably bad news but somehow, that just made him want to get to the other side even more. He shifted to let Tevini kneel down to take a look at the mechanism attached to the wall, leaning down over her shoulder to watch her work. If she could get the trap portion under control, Forera could destroy the lock.

"I can fix that." Tevini leaned in and started to trace the wiring in the air. If that connected to there, and that part was fed around through the back... She pulled out a pair of wire clippers from her kit and took a breath. It seemed right but she double checked anyway, not wanting to mess up and compromise the mission. The sea dweller had calmed down from some of her earlier obvious disapproval of them and she didn't want to do anything to trigger it into coming back.

3- The ship refuses to power on, even after you follow headquarters instructions to make sure they are plugged in, and hitting ctrl-alt-del. It looks like something core is not functioning. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.
4- Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the boarding vessel away.*
If any troll in the party has helmsman authority, they can steer the ship to given coordinates, then return to the boarding vessel with the rest of the team.
