3 - Uh oh, the door might be ... trapped and locked! 5/10 advances... 1/2 minibosses...
The gerbils were... interesting. Sarcel couldn't say she had much interest in them, but they were... rather tame, and despite looking goofy and wrong they... seemed very desperate for... affection. If one slipped into her pockets, she wouldn't try to evacuate it. Maybe it could come in use? A distraction? Something to help her with paperwork, even as a paperweight?
Her thoughts derailed when they came to another door.
"It's..." She jostled the handle, her eyes narrowing as her lips pursed into a thin line, "Locked. And might be trapped like the last door, but I'm not sure." She surveyed the group, "Ah, Spuode. Help me with this door, could you?" There wasn't any way it could handle the strain of both of them. Hell, maybe Ratuca could knock it down all on her own.

Rutaca Spuode (Keionx Rutace)
Keionx was keeping track of their route in her mind, thinking hard about the whereabouts of the terminal.
"Of. Course." Keionx said, enunciating with slow care. She gave the door a look over (just in case) before pushing it open.
It was barely even an issue for her, just like the daywalkers had been. Except...
Except for the slight clicking sound that she heard as she forced it open. She tensed, but there was no going back. Momentum opened the door and...
"WEEEEEEP! WEEEEEEP! WEEEEEEEP...!
Where there had been silence, now there was noise. Lots and lots of noise. Instinctively (having lived in a cave for much of her life) she looked up and braced for a cave in.
But of course, none was incoming.
"Sword and shield..." she cursed, on the alert now for whatever the alarm might bring, her sword drawn and - as ever - ready.
A loud alarm will start to sound through the ship as the door is opened!

1 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the ship away.* 2 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. As the screens boot up however, dozens of red warnings and errors flash across the screen. It seems like there has been critical damage to the ship in multiple places. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit. 3- The ship refuses to power on, even after you follow headquarters instructions to make sure they are plugged in, and hitting ctrl-alt-del. It looks like something core is not functioning. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit. 4- Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the boarding vessel away.* If any troll in the party has helmsman authority, they can steer the ship to given coordinates, then return to the boarding vessel with the rest of the team. Congratulations! You have completed your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in!
Oh no, not after they had just pocketed a handful of tame ones. What made these gerbils so inherently angry and aggressive? Well, maybe it had something to do with the oozing. She couldn't be sure though.
"On your feet everyone!"
It was strange, feeling bad for what she was doing, but she knew it had to be done regardless. She held her breath, loaded the chamber, and pulled the trigger. Honestly, she was probably doing the pack a favor more than anything...that thought brought her some solace at the very least.

In the open room, a few had nibbled playfully at her heels and played. It had been...
Very cute.
She had one of the strange daywalker-gerbils (She had no idea what to do with it), and now there was a whole hoarde of them - vicious ones. Were they angry? She tried to put out of her mind what she was doing to them - these were different from the trolloid daywalkers in some intangible way.
They were also easy to destroy - though they swarmed her with numbers, they also died. In number.
Or they almost did - bony, hideous outgrowths deflected her strikes, and some sort of goop stuck to her weapon and tried to hold it to them. There was far too much resistance to her strikes for her to be fully effective.

The tamed pets had stored themselves away nicely and one was contentedly resting in Nictor’s pocket and it was such a strange situation. The befuddled expression had yet to leave his face, even as he felt tension crawling back over his frame. The upturn of gaining some sort of space monster pet was interesting and, well, a pleasant turn, but so bizarre.
Still, he could feel himself keying back up as they moved through the ship, fingers twitching, but the constant jitters had settled to a more normal level.
Nictor jumped to attention, head shipping around and braide smacking him across the face when Lieutenant Cincil called out. Nictor’s expression pinched at the sign of the oozing grisly looking gerbils. He wished they could turn back or go around but it seemed that they were plowing through the critters and he winced with sympathy at every wet smack or strink.
Up until the things set their sights on him, likely attracted by the smell of blood. Which was made worse by wounds getting agitated and he pulled out a bo staff but he was! Not! Interested! In being gerbil food!
The thoughts emphasized striked he made to get the critters away, though one managed to attach to his arm briefly, others he managed to block and fend off, unable to help the small distressed noises he made at every hit he made.

Buffel sneered. He used to think these nasty little critters were just mindless hungry beasts, lusting after any food source they could find. Now he knew better. His little Maurice the Space Cowboy back home would never do such a thing. These little varmints were just plain evil. Buffel watched as everyone fought the creatures, tearing them offthemselves in a desperate attempt to keep the horde at bay. He gave his metal hand a swift hit out of pure frustration and all of his finger immediately went limp.
”Uh...well this is new.”
His palm unfolded, enveloping all around his fingers, now formed in a perfect circle. If he didn't know any better he'd say it looked like the end of a...gatling gun?
”Hey! Hey everyone, back up a sec! My arm's doin' a new thing, check this out!!”
He waved them away and waited til they had cleared before starting it up, turning the small crank that now protruded from his wrist. His fingers rotated in their new circle shape slowly, before beginning to rapidly fire from all fingertips. A massive grin beamed across the gunslinger's face as his new toy riddled the evil little critters full o' holes! As the horde dwindled, he brought it slowly to a stop. His hand slowly reformed back to normal.
”I uh...I didn't know it could do that...” he looked to his commanding officer. ”Sorry if that was a bit of uh...overkill.”

Sarcel's muscles tensed immediately when Buffel gave the call to fall back. Split second judgement calls made her do it, and she watched as the yellowblood's... arm did something strange, transformed, and well.
Obliterated.
That was that. "It was... for the best." She mumbled to herself, still feeling strangely bothered. In her pocket something rustled; one of the tame gerbils (this one had a multitude of eyes in places where eyes didn't belong), stared at her from... multiple angles. It didn't seem bothered by the bloodshed. Extending a single finger, Sarcel just sort of... pushed on the top of its head, poked it back into her suit. Begone, little one.
Now: the control panel. First order of business; shut off the goddamn alarms.
After that, the entire screen lit to life. Everything was fine, completely operable, and that fact alone made Sarcel smile. "Team, good news. The ship can be salavaged and then some. I suppose the time spent up here has preserved it well, considering everything." She flipped a few more switches, the entire machine rumbling to life.
"We can return back to the pod now. It was a pleasure fighting alongside all of you."

Rutaca Spuode (Keionx Rutace)
"Very good." Keionx said, putting on a... mild smile. Not quite fake - she did feel a sense of accomplishment - but that wasn't what she was supposed to do.
She had to get to that terminal somehow, without arising suspicion. She had to do it sneakily and stealthily and without attracting attention. It shouldn't be too hard - she could say that she saw a... oh, what had Ephias told her to say? A malfunction somewhere that she wanted to... study? Yes, that was it. If asked.
In short, if asked... science.
She looked down at the strange little gerbil... thing... tucked into her suit. It wouldn't tell, would it?
