Deimos advances the squad

HP: 15/20

Maybe Forera just liked throwing people into other people to do damage... it was effective, after all. Deimos paused at least long enough to see that Forger was okay (he seemed like a nice enough guy when they talked) before continuing down the hall. "Control room has to be around here somewhere... this ship ain't that big." Big enough to take a lot of time... but more time meant he got to stay in space longer.. now if only there weren't monsters constantly trying to attack them! That'd make it perfect.

"Ship ain't that big but we're kinda small, y'know." She said this after making sure the yellowblood was alright with a quick glance, then kept moving. They kept advancing and with Forera at the front lines, she managed to find a room. With an extravagant wave, the tealblood allowed entry to the curious room. "Yer fanciness,"

Faded Map Fragment - this map is worn out, and you can only make out bits... 1 use, you may choose your exploration table result instead of rolling (no battle tables).

The next room so happened to be open. Light on his feet, he quickly padded around, doing a search of the surrounding area. As he moved a few things around his gloved hands came into contact with a particularly curious item. His eyes widened as he realized it was a faded fragment of a map.

Gasping in surprise he couldn't help but smile, his fangs poking out against his bottom lip. Surely this would help them in their progress throughout the ship.

uses map fragment to find door!

As they traveled the ship, Stryke brought the map closer to his face as he squinted at the old fragment. Judging by their current location..if they went ahead just a little further they would be able to find a door. As he looked up from the map to match it with their current location. Hm. If he moved to the spot as he felt his hand for a door. Much to his surprise, the map had been accurate. "Ah! A door!" What if another creature was behind the door like the one from earlier..?

They would have to find out he supposed.

Static looked at the door. Then he looked a little harder. Being in this group made it a little hard to concentrate, to say the least. He was half sure that the tealblood adult was going to get tired of his incompetence and then throw him at a group of zombies, or something like that. These worries made looking at a door rather difficult.

takes off the traps because master covert ops!!

Traps. Stryke quickly moved forward, working to disarm the potential threat. He didn't want them harming anyone he was traveling alongside...he'd rather risk his own self-given he could shield himself if something went wrong. Nimbling, his fingers moved over the controls as he worked on disarming the presented traps. A trickle of sweat rolled down his temple as he exhaled shakily. Good, at least those would no longer cause them any trouble.

"We should be alright to proceed now." He confirmed.

It was time. Time to use her expertise. Forera slammed open the door with a careful kick, then peered inside to check out what as going on-- Aha, it was definitely a new monster. Forera squinted at it. "Yall, we got company!"

This is a mini-boss battle, the full rules and mechanics of which can be reviewed here.

The room beyond the door seems empty from the hallway, but stepping inside you are swiftly aware that you are not alone! For lurking in the corner is a dark groaning shape. As it turns towards you, you realize you are entering strife!

You have encountered a ...

3. ... Rotting... (+1 to all attacks)

4. ... Skeletal... (-1 on all accuracy rolls)

3. ... Disemboweled... (-5 miniboss HP)

4. ... Swift... (players take 2x the amount of damage on their first turn)

Dice 3

1. ... Daywalker Captain!

2. ... Zombie Gerbil Pack!

3. ... Mutated Daywalker!

4. ... Undead Slime Lusus!

MINIBOSS STARTING HP: 20/20

If you rolled a 1, take 4 dmg.

If you rolled a 2, take 4 dmg.

If you rolled a 3, take 3 dmg.

If you rolled a 4, take 3 dmg.

If you rolled a 5, take 2 dmg.

If you rolled a 6, take 2 dmg. Your attack this turn does double damage.

If all party members reach 0hp, look below:

You must make a tactical retreat! Scrambling back out of the room,

you barely make it to the pod with all your limbs attached.

Better luck next time! You have retreated from your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in!

If the mini-boss reaches 0hp, look below:

If this is your first mini-boss fight look below:

If a member of your team is a trained Discipline or Endurace specialist OR registered as in-training for either:

You can close your eyes and draw on inner reserves to keep going. This can only be done once per ship exploration per troll trained.

If you are a Journeytroll or higher in your skill: Restore 1d10+3 OR 1/3rd (rounded down) of your hp.

If you are a Novice in your skill: Restore 1d8+2 OR 1/4th (rounded down) of your hp.

If you are training your skill: Restore 1d6+1 hp.

You cannot roll the dice then choose the flat restoration, one must be picked beforehand.

If a member of your team is a trained Troll Relations or Leadership specialist OR registered as in-training for either:

You can manage to cheer, rally, or cajole your teammates into finding more energy. This can only be done once per ship exploration per troll trained.

If you are a Journeytroll or higher in your skill: Each team member restores 1d6+3 (rolled separately) hp.

If you are a Novice in your skill: Each team member restores 1d6+2 (rolled separately) hp.

If you are training your skill: Each team member restores 1d4+1 (rolled separately) hp.

If this is your second mini-boss fight, you have reached the control room! Roll 1d4 and look in the spoiler below:

1 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the ship away.*

2 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. As the screens boot up however, dozens of red warnings and errors flash across the screen. It seems like there has been critical damage to the ship in multiple places. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.

3- The ship refuses to power on, even after you follow headquarters instructions to make sure they are plugged in, and hitting ctrl-alt-del. It looks like something core is not functioning. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.

4- Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the boarding vessel away.*

If any troll in the party has helmsman authority, they can steer the ship to given coordinates, then return to the boarding vessel with the rest of the team.

Congratulations! You have completed your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in!

It was a slime beast, of course it was a slime beast. When was it not a slime beast. Static gave the monster a frown, a real good one, before doing his best to punch it hard, right in the... slime... He pulled his hand back and almost flinched away from it. The smile was gross, not even really green, more like some combination of snot and s**t, and to make matters worse, it kinda smelled.

Deimos regrets his life choices as he attacks the slime abomination

HP: 15/20
Damage Dealt: 4

THE ONE THING HE DIDN'T WANT TO ENCOUNTER. Deimos stared with disgust at the creature for a solid half minute before snapping out of his disgust. "Why the ******** are there so many slime lususes on these things!?" He took out his frustration on the nearest part of the creature, slamming it as hard as he could with his mace.

Which, as usual, was pretty ineffective. Maces and slime don't really mix.

It was... a weird slime lusus, after all. Forera's nose wrinkled. "Smells like s**t, hehe." Forera grinned, then prepared to slam her fist into the slime. She had not meant to get herself dirty, it was just, a first instinct type of deal.

It was hilarious when she bit one of her piercings down to attack. Everything just died, usually, and these battles were no exception. Forera managed to finish it off with the quick one two (or technically, three) but still considered, like there was something around."I think-- izzat the control panel?" She offered, laughing nervously. Welp. There it was.

Static had his hands on his knees, panting as if he had just run a marathon. This was hard! Not just being a leader of a really both rowdy and intimidatingly powerful group, but also just keeping on going killing slime after zombie after giant burning gross things. The boy stood up and got back to work. Sadly, this ship was not savable. Mostly, in Statics opinion, because it was full of zombies.
