All of space is completely silent. Sound waves need a medium to travel through. Since there is no atmosphere in space, space will always be eerily silent. You may be asking how astronauts can talk to each other in space. Lucky for them, radio waves can travel through space.

Oh it felt good to punch slimey, weird, on fire dead things! His uniform was a mess now tho... It was a little sad, but hopefully they had backup uniforms back on Alternia. He sure hoped so. His uniform was definitely going on his nicest hanger and up near his other great things. Yep, it was like a trophy.

A hand lifted in reflex to pull him back and then flinched back at the same moment of a puff of smoke. Instead she used it to cover her mouth, the sight of Nucleo- no, his clone had taken the brunt of it- half crushed under the debris stirring up multiple unwanted memories. There was nothing she could do about it now. Ducking through and pushing through her distress, she launched into an all out attack on the creature within the room.

Things were moving too fast. Amonee watched in horror as Nucleo went through the door, grim faced and dark eyed, only to be shoved backwards by a familiar face. The jadeblood's heart stop and he reached out desperately after the clone but his voice wouldn't come out in time before they were suddenly faced by another man on fire. Static and Lorata jumped into the fight, fiercely cutting down the creature but Amonee could only rush after his friend, tears threatening to fall.
"N-Nucleo, you're hurt! Bad!" He fussed, trying to find some kind of way to help only to hear a groan approach them from behind. This was not the time! Couldn't the beast see they were busy? He grabbed his club and swung it backwards as hard as he could, crushing the daywalker into some of the furniture in the room.

It was over almost as quickly as it had begun. Amonee wiped some relief off his face and took stock of everyone's injuries. He was not the greatest fighter but he could try and fill some kind of support role. Nucleo and Newcleo were still in bad shape from the earlier trap but Lorata and Static were mostly okay. He reached into his pack to pull out something special he had brought along for this trip. Amonee hadn't expected to use it now but... it might brighten everyone's spirits until they could get actual medical help.
"A little gift from home. I didn't make them but... my friend is very very good." Each troll received a sweet and cozy pack of homemade honey cookies, baked in the shape of a flower. Eilidh's attention to detail was always impeccable. And her ability to perfectly flavor sweets... incredible!

Lorata leaned on her partisan, taking stock of things as well once the zombie was down. She took a moment to compose herself as Amonee went digging for some sort of supplies, bandages she hoped, and had mostly managed it by the time she was handed...a cookie? She accepted it with a smile and thank you, then approached Nucleo and Newcleo. She hesitated a moment, then threw her arms around both of them in a quick hug. When she pulled back, she looked angry.
"Do not ever do that without permission again." She kept her eyes on them as she stepped back, then turned towards the door. "We're moving on." There was a quiet crunch as she bit into the cookie on the way back.

"What are you doing here?" The greenblood asked, startled and concerned. He didn't remember summoning a clone. He hadn't wanted to sacrifice one like that! What was going on?
"Don't be mad." Newcleo bit his lip, tense at Nucleo's reaction. He knew that he wouldn't like this but he really didn't want to cause a scene here. As Amonee approached with a cookie, both of them turned to give him a pair of weak smiles.
"We'll talk about this later." The greenblood muttered, accepting the cookie and breaking it in half. He shoved the other half into Newcleo's mouth to stop any protests and rose to his feet.
"Mmbfmmfph!"

"Nucleo owns the Nightly Grind, the world's best cafe on Alternia!" Amonee instantly linked an arm through Static's as he began chattering on about his friend's accomplishments. He couldn't help it, he liked to brag about the wonderful people he knew! And hopefully, this sweet new blueblood would become one of those friends too.
"We're located on Busthind, do you live near there? You can always come visit us. Oh! You could come see my paintings too-" The jadeblood continued to talk, not shutting up. Filling up the silence with noise was kind of helping keep any fear at bay.

Lorata was silent as they walked through the corridor, only half listening to Amonee and Static's chattering. She wanted this mission over so they could get back with everything they'd found and she could shove everyone into a medical bay and call it done. So where was that control room? Narrowing her eyes, she moved towards an open doorway to give it a glance over.

If two pieces of the same type of metal touch in space, they will bond and be permanently stuck together. This amazing effect is called cold welding. It happens because the atoms of the individual pieces of metal have no way of knowing that they are different pieces of metal, so the lumps join together. This wouldn't happen on Alternia because there is air and water separating the pieces. The effect has a lot of implication for spacecraft construction and the future of metal-based construction in vacuums.

It was comforting to have a new tool to help them out. They were doing pretty well on their own, but it felt nice to have another thing that helps. Another security blanket, so to say. Not that Static needed or had any such thing! Really, he couldn't even if he wanted. Raijin was a bit controlling..

what kind of door? locked and trapped
She was beginning to ease up a little again as they went over the open room for supplies, nodding approvingly at the sight of the gun. The military didn't have any shortage of weaponry, but maybe it was something that could come in useful. It was always good to have more technology on hand.
What would have been really nice, though, was a quick and easy way to get this closed door open. It was locked and, she realized, also trapped. She stepped pointedly in front of the greenbloods and motioned for Static to help her instead.
