Melvin looked at Rodney. "To be fair, I don't think you could have accomplished it as you are, evil drink or not." Rodney was still not as experienced in fighting as he was, and he doubted he could inflict real damage on him. Lawr on the other hand would have been an issue.
Looking back at Lawr, he crossed his arms slowly. "You need to take a moment before you see me to - think things over a bit. You can't spring this stuff on me without warning. Surprise or not, I - if I just see another you alone without context, ......I've been through a lot of realities. A lot of them felt real. You both should know how those other worlds and dreams feel like in some way or another. And the way we were, Lawr......sometimes i can't tell if it's real or not." They had played rough and even when Lawr through a fit, it had mostly been for show when they were messing around. - Back when they had still been missing around. How long now had it been?
Why had he bothered wanting it now?
He looked over at Rodney. "I wasn't trying to start anything between you two. A voice on a phone didn't equal reality to me when there was a fake young Lawr here. It' was just backdrop."

"No," Rodney admitted, "I don't think so, either. Um, then- I don't really like to think about that mindset."
Rodney felt skeptical about Melvin's excuses, but none of them were good with reality anymore. It was...in a way, worse than drugs. None of them could ever know. Still, the implication was that...what he'd done was still normal.
Rodney rubbed his arms, "Well, in the future, stop- just means stop. But...we're fine. Lawr's been trying too. And I know that."

Lawr nodded to Melvin. "Yes ok." he said. "I'll introduce things slowly and try to be clear when it's absolutely not a fantastical other world or dream, as clear as I can possibly be." And in spite of what he was saying he was being entirely serious about this.
He nodded "I AM trying aren't I?" he said, standing a little bit prouder. "Trying even in the face of adversity."
Whatever anger adventure he'd been on seemed to be at its end and he was back to normal, just a little bit shirtless and ruffled. "Well. Now we are sorted out I hope? I'm fine, Melvin's fine, thank you Rodney for helping, sorry I pulled you away from your duty."
Without proper emotional depth it was always very easy to revert back to a default.

Melvin wasn't in the mood to do kitchen duty now, or anything at all now, and really just wanted to sit in the bathroom for a few minutes.
Instead, he went to find a chair nearby and sat down, rubbing his face under his glasses. Rodney and Lawr could do whatever the hell they wanted.
