She'd watched on with pursed lips as Lawrence had taken up one of the paintbrushes and actually started helping with the roses. For a solid minute and a half she watched him, an expression of disbelief on delicate features, before she finally stepped forward to grab a brush as well. She might as well help, then they could continue on and maybe get this whole ordeal over with all the faster.
God, she hoped so...
After they'd helped them, the cards were all too eager to direct them to the castle through the safest paths, and Peyton couldn't help but offer a small wave and a kind smile as they parted ways just outside the enormous castle. It didn't take being here previously for her to guess that this was their endgame, but she still wasn't sure why. Lawrence might already know, but she wasn't entirely keen to ask him. Surely the answer would make itself known once they were inside.
Inside, it looked every bit as red and magnificent as the fairytale, the movies. Peyton moved quietly down the main hall, assuming the other hunter was still behind her, and eventually found her way to a grand banquet hall all laid out with delicious, freshly prepared food. It smelled
heavenly, and it was all she could do to keep from loading up a plate, stomach suddenly growling in hunger.
Surely a little taste here and there couldn't hurt...
