December 26th, 2018: Lanzer PizzaNyah FeaturesYou have mentioned earlier that you're working on converting Rally, Towns, and Fishing to HTML5. If you're stuck, I found a free open-source 2D/3D engine called BabylonJS (https://www.babylonjs.com/ and https://doc.babylonjs.com/how_to/ and https://doc.babylonjs.com/babylon101/sprites and http://www.html5gamedevs.com/topic/38480-make-2d-scenes/). BabylonJS works together with HTML5 and is based on native WebGL (Web Graphics Library). It supports full screen mode, music/audio and doesn't need any Flash support at all. It works with both desktop and mobile devices (with mouse/keyboard and with touch devices) and is supported by all major browsers (BabylonJS' specifications can be found here https://www.babylonjs.com/#specifications). You can even run and test the code in the browser (https://www.babylonjs-playground.com/ and https://www.babylonjs-playground.com/#UJEIL#13 and here is an advanced example https://www.babylonjs.com/demos/train/). I also want to suggest the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) (https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21) which can make new or existing websites and apps more accessible for both desktop users and mobile users, which ultimately can expand the userbase because more people can use the websites and apps. I hope that what I posted can be useful and I wish you good luck with the further development of Gaia. This is less a question and more of a suggestion if you're stuck somehow with Towns 3 etc. Thanks for the recommendation. Codemonkey used Phaser and had good progress with Towns 3 but if we need anything 3D related babylon looks like a good tool for that.

January 15th, 2019: Lanzer batty-gf GamesI see that there is still work being done on zOMG!, is there any possibility that zOMG! will be rebooted after Flash becomes obsolete in 2020? Or if a similar game will take its place? I know at the moment you guys have so many other things you're all trying to accomplish and we all appreciate it, but it would be a real shame to see zOMG! be brought back and then shut down and discarded again. We do have some events in mind, but there won't be any big updates as zOMG is a really big game that took 6 engineers 2 years to build. I do want to look into porting the flash client into its own Adobe Air app, but that's still in the research phase.

January 23rd, 2019: Lanzer Sir Valen Pureheart Games Mini-gamesAlmost all mini-games are dead and not working. After Towns 3 is finished, would you work on the Mini-Games or create new Mini-games which uses HTML 5 or recreate the old ones in HTML 5? (Aside from the Smash Blox games) Yes that is something we will work on later. New games will be HTML 5 or Unity based.

January 29th, 2019: [NPC] Gaia Staff Welcome Back! Quote: Items Considering that astra items do not function properly anymore, would staff consider lessening the amount in Spinami, or removing them entirely? There are a lot of people that would really appreciate it! We will start removing astra items from Spinami soon.

February 12th, 2019: Lanzer Emperor Clyde [Features] What Gaia gonna do when Flash Player end it support, previewed for 2020? Features such as Towns will be ported to HTML5, while features such as zOMG is too big to be ported, there should be legacy support with some browsers outside of Chrome/firefox. I'm looking into making zOMG it's own Adobe Air app if possible. Other games will need to be ported over to HTML 5 slowly. It'll be a long process.

March 5th, 2019: Lanzer Felinicus Mow Category: FeaturesQuestion: Does the staff ever plan to re-enable the movement of Astra items again? I assume that the coding would need to be migrated. I noticed that the Kindred Lake companions still have movement. For the time being, Astra items can't animate because of most browser's flash animation restrictions. LK items are actually animated through animated GIFs so they're not affected. Many Astra items have very intricate flash animation effects that cannot be easily translated into animated GIF's unfortunately. The amount of work required would be significant unfortunately.

April 23rd, 2019: Lanzer DoodleKitKit ItemsAre there any plans to make the Astra animated again or is it a glitch causing mine to not animate? It's not so much a glitch than how today's browsers do not support flash files anymore, especially ones that are under a certain size. Browsers like to mark those as ads or potentially harmful programs and refuse to load them by default. As a result, Astra animations are no longer supported. Lanzer settlefish Featuresare you guys working on updating from flash? I liked the astra items sad We will update some of our flash games into HTML5, but Astra items will be tougher as there isn't a format that can deliver the result that we want.

May 29th, 2019: Lanzer Rysabi Games Flash will be kicking the bucket soon. Any updates on progress with rewriting the old flash games? I've been away for a bit due to life so I need someone to spill some tea. We're more focused on the mobile app for the time being but we do want HTML5 Towns and other games to be out later.

June 10th, 2019: Lanzer Skittex FeaturesJust curious... when do you think Astra animations will be viewable again? (Never actually seen then in action. Figure it's due to flash.) Current browsers made it very difficult to view because the sizes are small and often treated as ads. We are looking into what we can do with SVG animations which all the browsers support. It won't be as nice as flash but we can have smooth animation effects with it.

June 26th, 2019: Lanzer Kio no Tenshi Misc/ItemsWill the animation for Astra items ever get fit? I'm more curious than anything, some of the animations I really enjoyed having on. Unfortunately every update from Google and Firefox the flash animations had been further and further blocked or disabled. You can make astra items animate after going through a number of changes on the browser's settings. Meanwhile, there's little we can do to make them just work by themselves.

July 2nd, 2019: Lanzer Knight Yoshi FeatureCouple of AtS ago Lanzer mentioned animating SVGs. I have to ask why. SVG animations can get laggy. Why not go with the Canvas API? Using the right tooling, certain tools can build in support to leverage WebGL (a fork of OpenGL) if it's available for the browser. This would have much better performance. Plus it's doing what it was mean to do, supplant Flash. I don't feel like hacking SVGs is the right way to go. Furthermore, if you embed the SVG as an image via the IMG tag, IIRC JavaScript, and even CSS animations won't work in all browsers. So, again, Canvas API. We're considering both SVG and Canvas API. Both are getting better support and we haven't come to any conclusion yet. Lanzer SL33PY-XIII_SSC features: zomg will zomg end when all flash ends in 2020? or are there plans to keep zomg going somehow with maybe a built in flash of some kind on gaia? or some other means? There should be other browsers that support legacy flash plug-ins by then, and we should also be able to figure out how to convert zOMG into an Adobe Air stand alone app if need be. Lanzer Knight Yoshi FeatureThe Classic profile template still uses the old flash HTML output, and not the iframe HTML. Whoops didn't remember hold profile had video. Will fix that asap.

July 23rd, 2019: Lanzer Almandaragal GamesWhat's the plan for Fishing? It has the monthly trophies, but I haven't really seen any plans for converting it from flash save a vague "we'd definitely like to". Given that we're already over halfway through the year, I'm getting worried that it might not be converted over "in time". This means not only do we lose the generation of a lot of game items that are consistently used, but the trophies can't be earned either. Sorry the conversion it taking longer than expected due to a lack of resources. We do wish to convert fishing to HTML5 as soon as we can.

August 27th, 2019: Lanzer Pianette Hello staff! Items? Project Recolor? - AstrasSince (I believe it was said that) the animated poses for astras won't be picked back up, will it finally be possible to submit tickets to recolor those items? I believe that depends on which Astra item it is, in general it is not possible as the graphics are all stored as flash graphics and not all artists have the flash tools to access them. Ultimately it depends on the artist on whether it can be recolored or not.

September 10th, 2019: Lanzer Hold the Onions GamesThere was recently a “fix” pushed for flash games to help with the connectivity issues. I am still getting the “can’t connect to servers” error, and have made several threads and PMs asking about this issue. What is being done to help fix this, or has the cause of this problem even been found yet? We found a few problems two weeks ago but it feels like there are other issues that still need to be fixed. I will start a new thread to collect more info as soon as possible.

September 17th, 2019: Lanzer Deus F GamesWhat's gonna happen to the games and flash spaces when Flash dies in a year? I assume Gaia has a plan for that inevitability? We will be porting some games to HTML5. For zOMG we're looking into making that its own app that runs in Windows/Mac/Linux.
