(I decided to just post anew and use this month's prompt.) April 2018 Academy: Language Arts Senior 1. Roll a 1d100 2. Based on the picture rolled, child will write about an imaginary planet based on it. Needs to describe life-forms inhabiting the planet, the climate, plants (if any) and wildlife. 3. Word count is 250 words or more. 4. ??? Profit!
Username: iMoony Student Name: Eirian Number Rolled: 1 Planet Description: The planet was a harsh one with many small suns beating down on the surface at every moment. The ground was a metal of rich black. The metal was impenetrable but didn't soak up the heat of the suns like some would assume from the color. The surface sucks in the light and bounces away the heat. There was nothing akin to foliage on this planet because the ground is in constant, undulating motion.
The only thing that marred the planet's surface was a giant statue that encompassed a fourth of the planet. It was in the shape of the life-forms of the planet but none knew when it had been made. The strange creatures scurried across the ground with relative ease thanks to their many legs taking short steps allowing for quick changes to the surface. They communicate with chirps and scratches that seemed to come from within your own mind. (Which you think would mean it would come out translated into your head, but it doesn't. You see images with their noises speaking over.)
Most of the time on the planet is spent scuttling around going from under the giant statue to outside looking for food. The food source seemed to be particles that are attracted from space to the planet's surface. The giant statue which protected the inhabitants from the suns during moments too hot to withstand also act as a sort of temple where a deity believed to have been the statue before it died is worshiped to bring about more food and less sun.
The inhabitants were immortal and there had been no increase or decrease in population. Not even when particles from space don't fall often enough to feed everyone.

August 2018 Academy: Creative Writing Junior 1. Student describes themself like they would in a book. (150 words) 2. Post a small RP response in thread with the student's reaction to the assignment. (100 words) 4. Must be at least 350 words total 5. ??? Profit!
Username: SSBrosB Student Name: Kean Bio: Kean, is an energetic student who has a hard time sitting down for long periods of time. As of right now he isn’t into playing any particular sport, but if someone invites him to be on their team for a ‘for fun’ game then he’ll gladly join in. He tries to make friends with everyone he can and isn’t afraid to stand up for those who are being bullied. Currently he only has his parents and his older sister as his family, but that’s enough for him right now! Will barely ever be found inside of his dorm room during the summer, and often found in the gym and exercise rooms during the winter. He would like to join his sister when they are both graduated and adults in starting a clothing design business. He loves art and would do it more but often finds himself a bit stifled at the academy in terms of what he can and can’t do elective-wise.
Response: Kean looked at the little “biography” of himself, before sticking his tongue out in disgust at it. But it’s not like he could help it. He had wanted to take this Creative Writing class as an elective to see if he could come up with some interesting stories and perhaps improve his writing skills, but unfortunately, they had yet to do any of it and so he was stuck writing this little “biography” of himself. He was sure that it was some way for the teacher to get to know them a bit better, but would anyone really be willing to out themselves as lazy to a teacher? He didn’t think so! He reluctantly turned the paper in, hoping that they would get to be able to do something a bit more interesting for the next assignment.

Username: Nashawryn Student Name: Georgette Number Rolled: 37
Planet Description: Georgette scribbles his short essay while seated at his desk.
“This is a volcanic planet filled with eruptions, lava and hot gaseous steam. The plant life includes small ferns and algae, shrubs and occasionally sparse fig trees. The land would cycle through being barren, to light plant growth and then into a jungle like area. Then the volcanic activity would peak and devastate the area around it, starting the process all over again with a barren landscape. However, the volcanic activity is actually nourishment for the plants, providing fresh nutrients each time an eruption occurs. Within three years of an eruption, ferns and algae will appear. Around ten years or so and small shrubs could be seen. After about twenty years, trees will appear and soon turn the areas back into a jungle like state.
As for the wildlife, there are small lizards that inhabit the area that survive on the algae, ferns and small bugs that they occasionally find and eat. There are also snakes in the area that hide in the misshapen earth that either seek out the lizard’s egg nests or wait in the shade patiently for the lizard young to hatch before eating. The snakes are the largest population on the planet, accounting for 3/4ths of the population in total. The last 4th is divided between the lizards, small bugs and a rather curious breed of giant turtles. Most of these species can move from one area of volcanoes to another, sensing volcanic activity and scattering far and wide as quickly as possible. Occasionally a species would be too slow and would be almost completely wiped out, causing a temporary imbalance in the ecosystem that would take generations to correct.”
Georgette signed his paper and dated it before turning it in to the teacher.

Username: Avid_RPer18 Student Name: Yaara Number Rolled: 8
Planet Description: Yaara considered the picture provided to her at the beginning of class with a ponderous frown. Hm. Quite a challenge but she wouldn’t let that stop her. Setting herself to task, she tucked her feet underneath her and began to write whatever came to mind, pausing intermittently to consider if some factoid would make sense, relatively speaking.
“A small metallic planet with a slow rotation, a relatively thin atmosphere, and weak magnetic field drifts in nigh solitude in the scarcely bodied system, being only one of three planets circling the core star. Though the surface does sport some bodies of water, the atmospheric conditions don’t produce much turn over in the form of weather. Storms are very few and far between and tend toward being brief. In fact, the majority of the world’s water supply is underground. The surface of the planet appears to be a desolate landscape where little thrives. Around the equator, where the bright light and harsher radiation is in balance with the cold, dark side presently facing away from the star, there appear periodic instances of algal blooms along the twilit coastlines, lending an almost patinaed look from outer space. The radiation that beats down on the planet keeps much in the way of life from taking hold upon the surface, but there is life within. There are huge networks of isolated and interconnected cave systems that support small fish, insects, crustaceans, and some higher signs of life along with mosses and fungi that thrive in the humid interior.
The most notable inhabitants of this world are the race of small, primitive cavern dwellers. They appear to have a simple society based around the collection of food resources, mutual protection. Large eyed and sporting metallic plating to protect their skin and innards from radiation, they are ideally suited for their environment. It is unknown what their language, if they have one, is like or if they have much thought beyond the present day, the current need. That would require further study. Then, of course, there’s the giant elephant crustacean in the room. The gargantuan crayfish traverses slowly around the planet, appearing to feed on the massive algal blooms when they happen. As such, the titan mostly remains around the twilight zone of where it’s food source is most likely to be be found. The running theory is that it is an ancient creature, with thick metallic based shell to protect from the radiation, perhaps a progenitor for the cave dwelling species or a rogue descendant, having grown too large for cave living requiring it to venture about on the surface.”
Skimming over her work, she shrugged. That’ll do, she supposed. She signed her name and dated it before turning it in.
